This happened a while ago but better late than never, right?
I had been in Port Harcourt for a while and I'd spent way too many days out so reaching out to @peaq was somewhat difficult at first. Then I had a conversation with a mutual friend and she asked why I hadn't reached out yet but I had no answer at the moment.
Truth is, my shy self took the lead and I had no idea what we'd do if we hung out or where we'd go. Then I thought, "to hell with it". I knew she was already aware I was in town so the proper thing to do would be to hit her up and clear my conscience. BEST DECISION EVER!
At first, we had no idea where we'd go but after throwing around a couple of options, we decided to see the movie UNCHARTED.
Movie review
Uncharted is based on the Sony video game franchise bearing the same name, Uncharted. It's more like a modernised version of Indiana Jones. It's filled with adventure and a journey to a mysterious part of the world that probably does exist but surely holds no treasure that hasn't already been discovered.
Drake, played by Tom Holland and Sully, played by Mark Wahlberg, are two thieves, or adventurers if you like, who went in search of a lost treasure hidden thousands of years ago in a ship. Sully is somewhat of a self-centred human who drags Drake on the mission with the promise of revealing some lost clue on the death of his brother, Sam. But things change when Drake finds out that his brother's death was somewhat the cause of a very selfish act by Sully. I'll try not to give out too many spoilers.
I haven't played the video game but I read a bunch of reviews stating that the movie was a disgrace in comparison to it. And while I can't give a personal opinion on that I think the movie was a joke. It could have been done better and You'd really expect more from a movie with the likes of those two main actors. The fight scenes were interesting for a PG 13 movie but the entire movie could have been better.
I personally feel like they tried too hard to make it look like the game when in reality it should be the other way around. The way the villain walked and talked, it felt like I should have been with a controller the moment she made her last statement, ready to give my player a command.
The story itself was video game-ish but I can't fault them for that. However, they could have put in a little more effort to make it less basic.
The end of an amazing night
Although the movie could have been better, I had fun teasing and laughing at pretty much everything with my date. She made the entire night worth it even though she came in pretty late. Couldn't hold anything against her coz she's a boss like that and well, I understood.

Esto ocurrió hace tiempo, pero más vale tarde que nunca, ¿verdad?
Llevaba un tiempo en Port Harcourt y había pasado demasiados días fuera, así que contactar con @peaq fue algo difícil al principio. Luego tuve una conversación con una amiga común y me preguntó por qué no había contactado todavía, pero no tenía respuesta en ese momento.
La verdad es que mi yo tímido tomó la delantera y no tenía ni idea de qué haríamos si quedábamos o a dónde iríamos. Entonces pensé: "al diablo". Sabía que ella ya estaba al tanto de que yo estaba en la ciudad, así que lo adecuado sería quedar con ella y limpiar mi conciencia. LA MEJOR DECISIÓN DE LA HISTORIA.
Al principio, no teníamos ni idea de dónde iríamos, pero después de barajar un par de opciones, decidimos ver la película UNCHARTED.
Reseña de la película
Uncharted está basada en la franquicia de videojuegos de Sony que lleva el mismo nombre, Uncharted. Es más bien una versión modernizada de Indiana Jones. Está llena de aventuras y de un viaje a una parte misteriosa del mundo que probablemente existe, pero que seguramente no guarda ningún tesoro que no haya sido ya descubierto.
Drake, interpretado por Tom Holland, y Sully, interpretado por Mark Wahlberg, son dos ladrones, o aventureros si se quiere, que van en busca de un tesoro perdido escondido hace miles de años en un barco. Sully es un humano algo egocéntrico que arrastra a Drake a la misión con la promesa de revelar alguna pista perdida sobre la muerte de su hermano, Sam. Pero las cosas cambian cuando Drake descubre que la muerte de su hermano fue en cierto modo la causa de un acto muy egoísta de Sully. Intentaré no dar muchos spoilers.
No he jugado al videojuego pero he leído un montón de críticas en las que se afirma que la película es una vergüenza en comparación con él. Y aunque no puedo dar una opinión personal al respecto creo que la película fue una broma. Podría haberse hecho mejor y realmente se esperaba más de una película con los dos actores principales. Las escenas de lucha fueron interesantes para una película PG 13, pero toda la película podría haber sido mejor.
Personalmente siento que se esforzaron demasiado en hacer que se pareciera al juego cuando en realidad debería ser al revés. Por la forma en que la villana caminaba y hablaba, sentí que debería haber estado con un mando en el momento en que hizo su última declaración, listo para dar un mando a mi jugador.
La historia en sí era de videojuego, pero no puedo culparles por ello. Sin embargo, podrían haber puesto un poco más de esfuerzo para hacerla menos básica.
El final de una noche increíble
Aunque la película podría haber sido mejor, me divertí burlándome y riéndome de casi todo con mi cita. Ella hizo que toda la noche mereciera la pena aunque llegó bastante tarde. No pude echarle nada en cara porque es una jefa así y bueno, lo entendí.
