When I first read The Knight in Rusty Armor by Robert Fisher, I didn't expect such a short book to make me reflect so deeply on how we live our daily lives. It is one of those simple, parable-like stories that goes straight to the heart and makes you realize that sometimes, it is necessary to turn your life around.

The story introduces us to a brave and generous knight who spends his time fighting dragons and rescuing damsels. He loves seeing himself as a hero so much that he never takes off his shining armor. The trouble begins when he tries to remove it for dinner at home with his family and discovers that the metal has fused to his skin; he is trapped inside his own armor.
To free himself from the armor that has completely adhered to his body, he must embark on a journey along the paths of knowledge and silence, confronting his own fears to discover who he truly is.
I hope that when you have some time, you can read this wonderful story; it will undoubtedly leave you with a valuable lesson. Without spoiling the ending—and to encourage you to read it—I’ll tell you that the great moral is that we often put on invisible armor (work, appearances, or the expectations of others) to protect ourselves, yet we end up isolating ourselves from what truly matters: connecting with those we love and with ourselves, striving every day to give our best and keep moving forward. These are the things that really count.
To me, the meaning of life conveyed by the work lies not in grand achievements or the applause we might receive from others, but in the ability to know ourselves, accept ourselves, and shed the weight of what doesn't belong to us—in freeing ourselves from the chains imposed by others.
Facing difficult situations and our own inner shadows is, ultimately, our greatest source of motivation: it shows us what we are made of and restores our freedom to feel. It is a heartwarming read, perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee while reflecting calmly—though those who dislike coffee can reflect over a glass of orange juice instead. You won't regret this thought-provoking read.
It has been a pleasure sharing this review with you; thank you for reading.
