Hello beautiful people who love the world of cinema and all the fantastic TV shows and series that entertain us and take us to magical worlds.
Today I come very happy to tell you a little of the series Omniscient a series of Netflix grabads by Brazilians that really has a great level within what is a streamig series.
If you haven't seen the series and want to watch it then stop reading until here because I can possibly say some spoilers and it would be very sad if you knew some things that are interesting before watching it.
So as always, more than a review today I come to share with you my reflection on this series and how it somehow impacted my way of looking at life in society.

Omniscient
Omniscient is about a company that is established in a city in Brazil that offers citizens a security system, but this security system is based on that somehow violate your privacy because each person who is within the system and decide to live within the city with that system is assigned a bot which is like a tiny bumblebee that watches him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, a crime occurs and is not reported by the system, that is the basis of the plot in summary.
So begins my dissertation on the subject ...
Security vs. privacy
To what extent human beings tired of the lack of morals and that we do not comply with the values and do not comply with the rules established to get along in a peaceful way can we allow in any legal way the fact that a company violates our privacy and film every moment of our lives in exchange for feeling safe?
Omniscient shows us how inside a city a number of people have decided to live in a safer world in exchange for being watched all the time, people can do absolutely nothing without this being filmed by the bot that follows them day and night even the most intimate acts are recorded by this bot, Obviously the company claims that no human being sees the images of the recordings however a supercomputer is always alert to your actions and if somehow you perform any act that is within the violations of the rules in less than 5 seconds you are caught in the act and you are punished for the fact.
This leads me to think that there has been so much violation of the rules by humans seeking to take advantage of others, by selfishness, that in a utopian society how this prefer to feel safe to have privacy over their lives, but this goes a little further.

Morality in society
To what extent have human beings lost all moral values, to what extent has education not served to enable people to be good people even if they are not under surveillance? Why is it that being able to comply with rules or not always has to be under a strict surveillance state?
This led me to think about many Latin American societies and compare them with some European or first world societies where to give an example: we have people who drive in my country Venezuela, both for my country Venezuela as for any other country in the world when a light turns red on a traffic light this indicates that you must stop, you can not continue moving forward, however, in my country you can notice that if there is no car on the streets people run the red light and continue driving, ie violate the rule by the fact that no one is watching them. In first world countries in Europe many people drive and it may be 2 o'clock in the morning and the streets may be empty and the traffic light turns red and people brake and do not violate the rule, and maybe there they are not being watched, in the case of the United States people do it because there are cameras that are watching them, but what should be the attitude of people to the rules? It should be to comply with them without the need to be watched. Why do we need to be watched to comply with the rules? Why if we are not watched do we violate them?
The myth of the Giges ring.
Mentioned by Plato, this myth talks about a shepherd who gets a ring and gives him the power of invisibility and when he has it, he starts to do things to gain power, and somehow the moral or conclusion reached by the philosophers in this myth is that human beings are unjust by nature and that we will always need to be watched in order to comply with the rules and laws.
If you had the power to become invisible, what would you do?
I have asked myself this question many times in my life, if I could be invisible, what would I do? Well I am going to be very honest, I have thought about the fact that if I were invisible somehow I would try to listen to conversations of people that interest me, I could go to another country on a bus or plane without being noticed and I could travel around the world without needing a visa, I could also enter places where they prepare delicious food and take a taste of some food, hahaha but this somehow would be stealing, so of course, I would not do more things of a higher level, but I have thought about the possibility of doing things if I am not being seen or watched, it is something that we human beings possess and we cannot deny it, however within the series looking for the security of the people they are watched all the time and when feeling watched nobody incurs in infractions, everybody does things as they have to be, in fact people can leave their bags, wallets and belongings in the street, in a square, hanging in a public street and absolutely nobody dares to take something that does not belong to them because immediately the bot would announce the infraction. Something that did not happen in the series and that is the reason for the whole plot.
Do we humans really need to feel watched all the time in order to do things morally and ethically?
** This is something to reflect on**.
Would you live in a system or a society where you are under surveillance all the time but somehow this guarantees the security of your life?
Recently things have happened to me with search engines like Google or Siri of the different phone systems, and is that I say a word or I'm talking to my family about some topic and immediately I enter a social network or enter a search engine appears something about what we were talking about, this makes me realize that we are being watched in some way, at that moment when we allow many applications on our phones to access our cameras, our microphones, our files, we are allowing a system to be surveilled and in some way this is violating our privacy, but we ourselves are the ones who are allowing it.
What is the price we are paying for that? What is the real price you pay for accessing all those apps that are supposedly free.
So far my little reflection and analysis about the omniscient series I assure you that you will like it very much because it has an unexpected ending and I am already waiting for the second season.
We continue to share within this world of cinema.
With love
