It's here, everyone! It's confirmed: Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is coming in January 2026. Honestly, it's taken them a while to make this final season, and it looks like at the end of all this, we're going to be wanting more, because it looks like we'll only get a few episodes.

I mean, we barely stopped crying over everything that was broken last season and MAPPA is already telling us, "Bro, hold on because the Culling Game is coming." And that arc, if you've read the manga, you know it's a bloody, weird, and sometimes even frustrating fest, but it's still one of my favorite arcs and one of the longest-running in the manga.

But not only that: before the season itself starts, we're getting a compilation movie called Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution – Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins. Yes, the name is a long shot, but what matters is that it's going to serve as a review of Shibuya and also show the first two episodes of the new season. It's coming out in November 2025, so it's like the appetizer before the main course. In other words, hype upon hype.

And of course, all of this is being animated again by MAPPA. Yes, the same people who have accustomed us to burning their animators alive in exchange for giving us fights that look like they're straight out of a next-gen video game. Shōta Goshozono is still directing, and Hiroshi Seko is on the scripts.

And the mission is clear: turn the Culling Game arc into a visual spectacle that will leave you breathless. I mean, if Sukuna vs. Jogo already blew our minds, imagine what's coming next with a ton of new characters (HAKARI) and a bit more world-building.

Now, to be honest, there are risks too. The Culling Game arc is long and a bit convoluted, so if MAPPA rushes it, it could feel awkward, and if they make it too dense, some episodes might feel slow. But the good news is that they've already confirmed the season will be in two parts, so at least there's a chance they'll breathe a little bit of air amid all the madness and not cram everything into 12 episodes.

What I do hope is that they maintain that dark and oppressive atmosphere that Shibuya already had, because the level of despair here rises even more. We're going to see Itadori carrying guilt like he's not even 16, Megumi being a potential man for most of the story, and FINALLY Yuta joining the team of wizards. At least we have something to keep us from missing Gojo too much.

And meanwhile, we're all asking the same question: When is Gojo coming back? Because MAPPA has had projects announced in recent weeks, and while this season of JJK is more than confirmed, what I'm truly worried about is how many episodes it will be.

As for the animation, I'm ready for my eyes to bleed from how beautiful it's going to look. MAPPA specializes in adding brilliance and brutality to fights, and while they sometimes use weird CGI, like last season, I'm confident this one will be excellent again.

We just have to wait and see. First, until November, and then the season will come early next year. I've seen many theories that they'll only do a few short arcs in this first phase, and then announce the second part next year. Because yes, it's divided into two parts.

Ya está, genteeee, confirmado: la temporada 3 de Jujutsu Kaisen llega en enero de 2026 y, honestamente, se han tardado bastante en hacer esta ultima temporada y parece ser que al final de todo esto nos va a dejar con ganas de mas, porque parece que solo tendremos unos pocos episodios

O sea, apenas dejamos de llorar por todo lo que se rompió en la temporada pasada y MAPPA ya nos dice: “hermano, agárrate porque ahora viene el Culling Game”. Y ese arco, si leíste el manga, sabes que es una fiesta sangrienta, rara y a veces hasta frustrante pero aun asi es uno de mis arcos favoritos y uno de los que mas duran en el manga

Pero no solo eso: antes de que empiece la temporada en sí, vamos a tener una peli recopilatoria llamada Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution – Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins. Sí, el nombre es kilométrico, pero lo que importa es que va a servir como repaso de Shibuya y además va a mostrar los dos primeros episodios de la nueva temporada. Sale en noviembre de 2025, así que es como el aperitivo antes del plato fuerte. O sea, hype sobre hype.

Y claro, todo esto lo vuelve a animar MAPPA. Sí, los mismos que ya nos tienen acostumbrados a quemar a sus animadores vivos a cambio de darnos peleas que parecen sacadas de un videojuego de nueva generación. Shōta Goshozono sigue en la dirección, Hiroshi Seko en los guiones,

y la misión es clara: convertir el arco del Culling Game en un espectáculo visual que te deje sin aire. O sea, si lo de Sukuna contra Jogo ya nos voló la cabeza, imagínate lo que viene ahora con un montón de personajes nuevos (HAKARI) y un poco mas de construccion de mundo

Ahora, siendo honestos, también hay riesgos. El arco del Culling Game es largo y un poco enredado, así que si MAPPA se apresura puede quedar raro, y si lo hacen demasiado denso puede que algunos episodios se sientan lentos. Pero la buena noticia es que ya confirmaron que la temporada será en dos partes, así que por lo menos hay chance de que respiren entre tanta locura y no nos tiren todo comprimido en 12 capítulos.

Lo que sí espero es que mantengan ese toque oscuro y opresivo que ya tenía Shibuya, porque acá el nivel de desesperación sube todavía más. Vamos a ver a Itadori cargando culpas como si no tuviera 16 años, Megumi siendo potential man durante la mayoria de la historia y AL FIN Yuta se une al equipo de hechizeros, al menos tenemos algo para no extrañar demasiado a Gojo

Y mientras tanto, todos preguntándonos lo mismo: ¿cuándo regresa Gojo? Porque MAPPA en estas ultimas semanas si que ha tenido proyectos anunciados y aunque esta temporada de JJK esta mas que confirmada lo que verdaderamente me preocupa es de cuantos episodios va a ser.

En cuanto a la animación, yo ya estoy listo para que me sangren los ojos de lo bonito que se va a ver. MAPPA es especialista en darle brillo y brutalidad a las peleas, y aunque a veces meten CGI raro como en la ultima temporada pero tengo confianza en esta si que será excelente nuevamente

Solo queda esperar, primero a Noviembre y despues a principios del año que viene se viene la temporada, he visto muchas teorias de que van a hacer solo algunos arcos cortos en esta primera fase y despues para el año que viene van a anunciar esa segunda parte, porque si, está dividido en dos partes

This assessment stems from numerous factors: a cast and crew still groping towards a coherent identity, the immense pressure of stepping out from the colossal shadow cast by The Original Series, and a narrative timidity born of uncertainty. Yet, beyond mere growing pains, some of Season One’s most notable failures paradoxically arose from earnest, albeit profoundly misguided, attempts to rectify perceived shortcomings in Star Trek’s own past. Gene Roddenberry’s vision, while groundbreaking for its era, faced increasing scrutiny in the 1980s regarding its portrayal of women – accusations of residual sexism, exploitative costuming, and an underlying assumption of female inferiority within the supposedly utopian Federation. Angel One, the thirteenth episode, stands as the most telling exemplar of this phenomenon: a well-intentioned effort to confront contemporary feminist critique that spectacularly backfired, resulting in a narrative muddled by poor execution, regressive tropes, and a fundamental misunderstanding of the issues it sought to address.

The plot commences with the Enterprise-D investigating the seven-year-old disappearance of the freighter Odin. Discovering its derelict hull, the crew tracks three missing escape pods to Angel One, a Class M planet whose technological level roughly mirrors Earth’s mid-20th century. Crucially, Angel One is defined by its rigid matriarchal structure; women hold all positions of political and social power, while men are systematically subjugated, relegated to domestic roles and denied basic autonomy. An away team comprising Riker, Troi, Data, and Yar beams down to confront Beata (Karen Montgomery), the planet’s leader, whose initial frostiness towards Starfleet representatives quickly curdles into outright hostility. She first denies knowledge of any Odin survivors, then reveals they are fugitives wanted for rebellion. Undeterred, Riker remains to investigate, swiftly embarking on a sexual liaison with Beata – a development that facilitates his discovery of the truth. The survivors, led by the charismatic Ramsey (Sam Hennings), initially embraced Angel One, even forming families, but ultimately rebelled against the systemic oppression of men, viewing it as fundamentally incompatible with Federation principles. Beata’s government responded with brutal suppression. Riker locates Ramsey’s group, now fugitives, and secures their arrest. Facing execution, they are offered repatriation aboard the Enterprise; Ramsey, however, having forged deep ties to the planet and its people, refuses to leave, accepting death. Riker, unwilling to stand by, prepares to violate the Prime Directive by beaming them up forcibly, but diplomacy prevails as Beata concedes exile on a remote continent as a compromise.

This primary narrative is awkwardly intercut with a secondary crisis: a virulent, fast-acting infection sweeps the Enterprise, incapacitating Picard, Worf, and La Forge. Data, immune as an android, assumes command – a development creating significant continuity dissonance when contrasted with his susceptibility to the polywater intoxication in The Naked Now. Simultaneously, Dr. Crusher races to develop a cure while the ship receives urgent intelligence of Romulan battlecruisers massing in the Neutral Zone, demanding the Enterprise abandon its mission to bolster Federation defences. Angel One must be understood as Roddenberry’s direct, albeit clumsy, response to the feminist critiques levied against his original vision. Facing accusations that Star Trek perpetuated subtle sexism despite its progressive veneer, the episode attempts a blunt inversion: making women the dominant, oppressive class and men the subjugated minority. Ramsey and his fellow survivors are positioned as the 24th-century equivalents of 20th-century feminists, demanding equality for the oppressed gender. Producer Herbert Wright reportedly intended the script as a pointed allegory for Apartheid-era South Africa, highlighting the oppression of the Black majority. However, scriptwriter Patrick Barry delivered a disappointingly simplistic and bland scenario, leaning heavily on the overused science fiction trope of the matriarchal society without the necessary depth or nuance. The producers, to their limited credit, attempted a pseudo-biological justification through Beata’s diminutive male secretary, Trent (Leonard Crofoot), implying Angel One’s women are naturally larger and stronger. Yet this feeble explanation reduces complex socio-political oppression to crude physical determinism, utterly failing to grapple with the systemic, cultural, and historical roots of real-world inequality. The result is not a thoughtful exploration of power dynamics, but a shallow caricature that inadvertently replicates the very objectification it sought to critique. Just as The Original Series was criticised for exploitative female costuming, Angel One offers blatant fan service for females, featuring both Riker and Picard (during the infection sequence) bare-chested, reducing the male characters to objects of visual titillation within the narrative’s own framework of oppression – a deeply ironic and counterproductive move.

Riker’s characterisation here is pivotal and revealing. Functioning as the de facto lead, he embodies a TNG analogue of Captain Kirk: decisive, willing to bend or break the Prime Directive for perceived moral imperatives, and effortlessly seducing the alien leader. His passionate speech to Beata, urging compassion for Ramsey’s plight, is presented as the catalyst for her compromise, reinforcing the trope of the white (or in this case, Starfleet) male saviour intervening in a primitive culture’s affairs. While Frakes brings his usual charm, the episode’s core flaw undermines this. The promised chemistry between Riker and Beata fizzles; Montgomery’s performance lacks the necessary gravitas and complexity for a leader facing internal rebellion, resulting in flat, unconvincing love scenes. Similarly, Sam Hennings fails to project the requisite charisma and conviction as Ramsey, making his refusal to leave seem less like principled defiance and more like stubborn obstinacy, weakening the episode’s central moral dilemma.

Furthermore, Angel One holds historical significance beyond its thematic failures: it marks the Romulans’ long-awaited debut in The Next Generation. This is no minor detail; it signifies Roddenberry’s pragmatic abandonment of his initial, ill-fated insistence that the Ferengi replace the Klingons (and by extension, the Romulans) as the primary antagonists. The Ferengi’s comical ineptitude in early episodes like The Last Outpost had rendered them utterly incapable of filling the Romulan void. Their appearance here, even as background tension, confirmed the franchise’s return to established, credible threats – a necessary course correction born of Season One’s missteps.

Ultimately, the episode’s few redeeming qualities are purely technical. The matte painting depicting Angel One’s capital city is undeniably impressive, a high-quality piece of traditional artistry that would be recycled effectively for numerous alien worlds throughout the series’ run, showcasing the production team’s resourcefulness even when the writing faltered. However, this visual achievement cannot compensate for the narrative’s profound shortcomings.

Angel One represents a critical failure of intent. Roddenberry’s desire to address legitimate feminist concerns was, in theory, commendable. Yet the execution – reducing complex social critique to a simplistic, biologically deterministic matriarchy, relying on tired tropes, introducing jarring fan service, and featuring subpar acting – resulted in a message that was not only poorly conveyed but actively regressive. While Season One’s growing pains are understandable, *Angel One stands as a stark reminder that good intentions, without thoughtful execution and a deep understanding of the issues at hand, can produce results far worse than simple mediocrity. It is not merely a weak episode; it is a well-meaning crusade that lost its way, becoming an object lesson in how not to engage with the progressive ideals Star Trek was founded upon. The shadow it casts is not just one of a bad story, but of a missed opportunity to genuinely advance the conversation Roddenberry himself had begun.

Por otra parte pienso que el objetivo principal de la película es explorar un tema muy importante y fundamental que quizá muchos de nosotros tenemos pero pocos lo apreciamos, la familia, con la llegada de sus nuevos amigos, finalmente Mimiko (quién es huérfana) pudo conseguir un complemento para su vida, pero a pesar de que la orfandad de Mimiko genera compasión, la película está hecha desde otro enfoque, uno más alegre y optimista, el cuál hace que reemplaces la compasión por admiración,

Tal como les dije, el film es extremadamente tierno en toda la expresión de la palabra: se puede percibir en los gestos de los personajes, en su forma de expresarse y en la inocencia que irradian, asimismo promueve el respeto por la naturaleza y los animales, algo muy propio de los estudios Ghibli, tomando en cuenta que esta película fue producida por los fundadores del estudio, Isao Takahata y Hayao Miyazaki, pero la hicieron antes de fundarlo, así que no cuenta dentro de la filmografía de Ghibli

Siento que la película es una inyección de positivismo, alegría y entusiasmo 😃, tengas la edad que tengas es inevitable contagiarse con la energía de los personajes principales, quienes incluso son ejemplo de resiliencia, además te ayuda a confirmar que la felicidad está en los pequeños detalles y por eso debemos estar siempre agradecidos y valorar todo lo que tenemos en nuestras vidas, ser felices en cada instante en el que tenemos la oportunidad, vivir la vida al máximo, reír, jugar y disfrutar cómo si fuésemos niños.

En primer lugar hablemos de los más evidente, su diseño físico, su apariencia, estoy segura de que les recuerda a alguien familiar ¿cierto? pues sí, la verdad es que yo me estuve preguntando si su parecido con Michael Jackson en el look que tiene en Smooth Criminal era casualidad, pero luego de investigar me di cuenta que al parecer es completamente intencional, ¿Por qué? Bueno, eso me conduce a un análisis un poco más profundo en la personalidad del personaje. A ver, Muzan no es un villano cualquiera, no es como los demonios a los que suele dirigir y esclavizar, él tiene estilo, una elegancia innata, lo cuál lo asemeja a un gamster de la década de los 40, le gusta verse diferente, distinguirse entre los demás, por esa razón usa ropa con mucho estilo y lo complementa con ese característico sombrero Fedora blanco. ¡Dios, en serio, me encanta! Fue un diseño muy acertado y para nada esperado.

Pero este look, según mi opinión personal (podría estar equivocada) tal vez esté asociado al perfeccionismo, un rasgo muy característico de Muzan, él está obsesionado con dos cosas: la perfección y la inmortalidad, él sabe que es poderoso, sabe que es temido, sabe que sus poderes son muy grandes pero aún no ha podido vencer su debilidad al sol, y eso es algo que no soporta. Muzan es astuto e inteligente, lo que lo lleva a ser metódico también, pero su gran debilidad no radica en su intolerancia a los rayos del sol, sino en su arrogancia y soberbia, algo que le impide valorar a algunos de sus oponentes como es debido, y tal como dice el refrán "No hay enemigo pequeño" nunca debes bajar la guardia con nadie, sin embargo precisamente su fobia a la muerte y su soberbia me recuerdan a otro personaje que no pertenece a la serie, me refiero a Voldemort, de Harry Potter, porque él también es un villano de grandes poderes, obsesionado con alcanzar la inmortalidad y que a menudo subestima a sus oponentes por causa de la arrogancia.

Algo que lo hace más peligroso es que es completamente impredecible, puede tomar cualquier forma, sin dejar de ser elegante, pero incluso también se ha manifestado como un niño pequeño e indefenso (en apariencia) lo cuál lo vuelve más siniestro. Es sádico, calculador y manipulador y desprecia todo lo opuesto a él porque no puede entender que los cazadores estén incluso a sacrificarse por amor a sus ideales y en especial por la humanidad, él asocia eso con debilidad y él detesta la debilidad. Puede llegar a ser violento pero de una forma muy particular.

¡Saludos, amigos de The Anime Realm! Me alegra estar una vez más con ustedes para compartir otra reseña personal sobre una de las historias más populares en los últimos tiempos, se trata de Solo Leveling temporada 2.

Recordemos que esta es una historia basada en una novela web coreana escrita por Chugong y posteriormente adaptada al manhwa y al anime. Como mencioné en la pasada reseña de la temporada 1, este anime de los géneros de fantasía, acción y sobrenatural nos presenta al joven Sung Jinwoo, un cazador de bajo rango y limitada fuerza física que trata de sobrevivir en un mundo en el que algunos humanos poseen habilidades especiales y que tienen como principal misión luchar contra monstruos que surgen en portales inter dimensionales conocidos como mazmorras.

En específico la segunda temporada transcurre cronológicamente justo después de los acontecimientos de la primera, allí vemos cómo Sung Jin-woo obtiene nuevos destrezas y poderes, siendo ahora conocido como el Monarca de las Sombras. Cabe resaltar que él mantiene en secreto estos poderes.

Entre tantas cosas una de las que más llamó mi atención fue el hecho de que Sung Jinwoo pudo completar el demandante reto del Castillo del Demonio y así obtener finalmente la poción para recuperar la salud de su madre, regresando a la familia a una aparente normalidad, es también por eso que el protagonista se niega en un principio a participar en la operación especial de la isla de Jeju para enfrentar al ejercito de hormigas mutantes, aunque como sabemos él finalmente decide participar y manifestar su poder de forma impresionante y así logró transformar una difícil situación en una victoria.

Otro aspecto que aun espero ver en mayor desarrollo es todo lo relacionado con el padre de Sung Jin-woo y despejar muchas interrogantes que aun nos presenta la historia pero que son parte fundamental e interesante del argumento de la serie.

En esta temporada podemos ver cómo Sung Jinwoo va ascendiendo cada vez más de nivel de manera vertiginosa, siendo capaz de apoderarse de nuevas y poderosas sombras las cuales puede invocar cuando sea necesario, lo que lo convierte en un ser con increíbles capacidades y a la vez nos deja con la expectativa de cómo continuará el desarrollo de su personaje en las temporadas futuras.

Espero con ansias la tercera temporada para seguir viendo las incidencias de esta extraordinaria historia llena de acción y fantasía. Gracias por acompañarme hasta acá, nos vemos pronto con otra reseña. ¡Hasta luego!

Within the landscape of Latin American cinema, few films have achieved the stature of a cultural symbol and the artistic mastery of Fresa y chocolate (Strawberry and Chocolate). This film was directed by a pillar of Cuban cinema, the unparalleled Tomás Gutiérrez Alea (Titón), in collaboration with Juan Carlos Tabío.

We are faced with a movie that became a social event, an open debate, and a humanistic embrace that transcended the screen to catalyze the conversation about intolerance in Cuba. Based on the story "El lobo, el bosque y el hombre nuevo" ("The Wolf, the Forest, and the New Man") by Senel Paz—who also adapted the screenplay—the work stands as the culmination of Titón's filmography: a sharp critique wrapped in the warmth of humor and compassion.

Set in Havana in 1979, yet deeply resonant with the Cuba of the "Special Period" during which it was filmed, the story presents the seemingly improbable encounter between two opposite worlds. David, played by a then-young Vladimir Cruz, is a young communist militant, full of dogmatic convictions and the homophobic prejudices of his time. Diego, a character brought to life by the great Jorge Perugorría, is his antithesis: a homosexual artist, cultured, passionate, and marginally situated on the edges of a society that rejects him for who he loves.

The plot begins with a premise that smells of political intrigue. David is coerced into "investigating" and "neutralizing" Diego, who had tried to seduce his roommate. What could have devolved into an ideological thriller is transformed, thanks to the directors' delicacy, into a profound and moving drama of character. Diego's apartment, a sanctuary crammed with "forbidden" books, Maria Callas records, and works of art, becomes the classroom where David, and by extension the viewer, receives a different education. Lessons not about dogma, but about beauty, history, national culture, and above all, humanity.

The genius of the film lies in how it dismantles prejudices not with grandiloquent speeches, but with the force of human interaction. Through long conversations, uncomfortable glances that soften, and the shared discovery of an ice cream (the gustatory metaphor that gives the film its title), distrust erodes. Diego is not a character who seeks to convert David; he simply offers him the right to exist and to be understood.

Perugorría's performance is masterful, delivering layers of vulnerability, intelligence, and pain behind a facade of confidence and sarcasm. Vladimir Cruz complements him perfectly, showing the painful and genuine confusion of someone who sees their once-rigid ideological world begin to crack under the evidence of a true friendship.

The third vertex of this emotional triangle is completed by Nancy, the magnificent Mirta Ibarra, Diego's neighbor who has lost faith in the system and dreams of escaping. Her character introduces the painful theme of exile, presenting it not as an act of betrayal, but as a heart-wrenching decision born of hopelessness. En el panorama del cine latinoamericano, pocas películas han alcanzado la estatura de símbolo cultural y la maestría artística de Fresa y chocolate . Este filme fue dirigido por el pilar del cine cubano, el inigualable Tomás Gutiérrez Alea (Titón) en colaboración con Juan Carlos Tabío.

Estamos frente a una cinta devenida en evento social, un debate abierto y un abrazo humanista que trascendió las pantallas para catalizar la conversación sobre la intolerancia en Cuba. Está basada en el cuento de Senel Paz "El lobo, el bosque y el hombre nuevo quien también adaptó el guion, la obra se erige como la culminación del cine de Titón, una crítica aguda envuelta en la calidez del humor y la compasión.

Ambientada en La Habana de 1979, pero resonando profundamente con la Cuba del "Periodo Especial" en que fue filmada, la historia nos presenta el encuentro aparentemente improbable entre dos mundos opuestos. A través de largas conversaciones, miradas incómodas que se suavizan y el descubrimiento compartido de un helado, la metáfora gustativa que da título a la película, la desconfianza se erosiona. Diego no es un personaje que busca convertir a David; le ofrece, simplemente, el derecho a existir y a ser comprendido.

La actuación de Perugorría es magistral, entregando una capa de vulnerabilidad, inteligencia y dolor detrás de una fachada de seguridad y sarcasmo. Vladimir Cruz complementa a la perfección, mostrando la dolorosa y genuina confusión de quien ve cómo su mundo ideológico, una vez rígido, comienza a agrietarse ante la evidencia de una amistad verdadera.

El tercer vértice de este triángulo emocional lo completa Nancy, la magnífica Mirta Ibarra, la vecina de Diego que ha perdido la fe en el sistema y sueña con escapar. Su personaje introduce el doloroso tema del exilio, presentándolo no como un acto de traición, sino como una decisión desgarrosa fruto de la desesperanza. Juntos, estos tres personajes pintan un retrato complejo y matizado de la Cuba de la época, amada y asfixiante, revolucionaria y conservadora, llena de vida y de contradicciones.
