  1. CINEMANIA 20: A WALK TO REMEMBER.@spliddash1054d

Hello friends of hive a big hug for all this platform that we make life, especially to those people that we love movies and arts in general. Today friends I want to talk about a very nice movie, but very dramatic and which is a little sad too, but it is still a great romantic story. So I hope you like this review. I'm talking about the movie "A walk to remember".

    A WALK TO REMEMBER

    A WALK TO REMEMBER.

It is a drama and romance movie based on a novel by the famous writer Nicholas Spark of which in the last post I wrote about a movie also based on one of his books called "The Diary of a Passion". In this story is narrated the life of the characters Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan. The movie is from 2002, apart from the romance, it also talks about themes such as faith, repentance, among others.

Plot: The plot follows the story of Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter. Lando is a popular boy but very arrogant at the same time, who for pranking a boy at school is punished and put to do social work and be part of the school theater, as punishment. On the other hand Jamie is a pretty, simple, kind and innocent girl who is a Christian and likes to help people, also sings in the church choir because she has a very nice voice, and is the daughter of pastor. Landon meets Jamie at the social tutoring he has to give and at the theater where he has to pair up with her in the play. Landon asks Jamie to help him learn his script in rehearsal, but once she realizes that he only wants her help on the sly because he's embarrassed to be singled out for his popularity, she refuses. Landon has no choice but to ask her for forgiveness in his desperation to learn the play, but she still won't help him so he does it on his own. The day of the play Jamie is as beautiful and sings and Landon is transfixed by her beauty and her voice, which leads to the moment of the kiss, that this kiss is real. There he realizes that he likes her. Lando asks for Jamie's forgiveness, she forgives him and they start dating, they fall in love and Jamie begins to form a new self in Landon, he changes from being popular and arrogant to being a good and sensitive person. Jamie's father the pastor is against the relationship because Jamie has a terminal illness which is "Leukemia" and she has not told Landon. Once he finds out, an internal struggle of love and sadness begins, they marry but Jamie dies, leaving Landon with a way of living in faith and full of love.

The main characters: The main actors are "Shane West", who plays Landon Carter and "Mandy Moore" who plays Jamie Sullivan. Mandy, besides being the main protagonist, is a well known pop-country singer, she is the one who performs the main song of the movie. Other actors who work in the film are: "Peter Coyote" who plays the character of Pastor Hegbert Sullivan and "Daryl Hannah" who is the mother of Carter Cynthia Carter.

Release date: The movie was released on February 29, 2002 in the United States and to the rest of the world shortly thereafter, it was a box office success grossing worldwide $64 million more than what was financed to make it. It was also eventually a hit on several TV channels. It was number 1 at the box office for a week in the United States at the time of its release.

Director. This film was directed by the well known "Adam Shankman" who is a well known music video director, working with singers such as Paula Abdul or Janet Jackson, he has worked in other movies such as "A super hard kangaroo", when directing the movie "A walk to remember" he did an impeccable job.

Producer: The production of the film was by "Denise Di Novi" and "Hunt Lowry" both were key to the film, producer Denise has been executive producer and writer for other films such as have been "El secreto de mis ojos". Both were a key part of the film, recreating very emotional scenes that immersed the audience in the plot of the story.

Screenwriter: The screenplay for the film was written by Nicholas Sparks himself, who also wrote the book from which the film was inspired. Nicholas Sparks, has written many novels that have been made for the big screen such as: The Last Song, Diary of a Passion, When I Find You, among others. He is one of the most famous and acclaimed authors. He is also the winner of many literary awards. His script is excellent, being the same who wrote the book, it can be said that there is not much difference between book and movie. It is a sublime adaptation.

    Poster Movie

Soundtrack: The soundtrack was in charge of "Aaron Zigman" and "Mervyn Warren" both made a masterful musical composition, the music gets us into the plot, full of emotions and feelings in every scene. The soundtrack also features many songs from well known artists and bands such as: the Christian music band Switchfoot and of course the singer Mandy Moore, who sings the main theme of the movie called "Cry" among other songs that she also performs. An incredible soundtrack.

Visual effects. The visual effects of the film are not very relevant but there were in several scenes and these were made by Los Angeles Production Services. The film focuses more on the story told than on the visual effects, which are mostly more on the colorization of the film, sound effects. Etc.

Curious fact: A curious fact is that the singer mandy moore who also plays the main character, performed the song cry, song that entered the "Billboard" list obtaining the top positions of the list.

Based on: The movie is based on the novel of the same name written by famed author Nicholas Spark, The book follows the story of romance, drama and ending of Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter.

    BOOK COVER

Criticism: The movie had mostly positive reviews, Mandy Moore was applauded for her performance in the movie and also as a singer performing several of the songs in the film. Some critics said that the movie was a bit conventional, but that did not detract from the success it had at the box office and then over the years in many television networks that programmed it, it was a success.

Opinion: In my opinion the movie is great, I love it, the plot is very gripping, the story is touching and sentimental, the message of faith that leaves, how a person with love can make another person change for the better. The songs are great, I love mandy moore, cry is one of my favorite songs, besides the movie is classified as a christian movie because of the message it has. Although it is made for all types of audiences. For those who like the romantic genre, it is a very good movie and it moves your feelings to the point that it makes you cry. I recommend it.

Conclusion: In conclusion the movie is exciting, very good and above all beautiful, sad yes of course it is, but it leaves us with a nice feeling, and full of love, that we have to do whatever we can for our loved ones and our neighbor while we can always from love, Jamie changed the life of Lando, so we can change some life too. The music as I said I love the song Cry. And of course we must mention that the writer Nicholas Spark is the best author of romance novels, most of his books have been adapted to film, and this is one of the jewels of "nicholas" A walk to remember is an unforgettable movie.

  2. "𝑨 𝑾𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝑻𝒐 𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓" - An Old Movie Review@merit.ahama1065d

A whole 21 years after the movie was released, I finally got to see it today.

After seeing "The fault in our stars", "Five feet apart", "Everything everything", "Midnight sun", and a few others, I finally got to see this... "A Walk To Remember".

Why did I mention these movie titles? It is because they do have same kinda focus or similar storyline but there is still that huge difference that makes each of these movies stand out and that is how the whole story played out. This movie gave a beautiful storyline, something different even though similar to the many others I've seen.

Release date: 25 January 2002 Director: Adam Shankman Story by: Nicholas Sparks Featured song: Only Hope Adapted from the book: A Walk to Remember

A short storyline about the movie A rebellious guy (Landon) keeps bad company and gets into trouble, he is punished to serve a community service and there he met a girl (Jamie) who seem to have not much going on with her life but is a peaceful lady who with her lifestyle won her the name "Virgin Mary". The two meets during Landon's community's service and Landon is made to learn more about life, hope and love.

The storyline is a beautiful one as I've said even though similar to the movies I mentioned but I like that it taught me a lot and gave me the emotional feeling of what it is like to find a new hope, have someone believe in you again.

The movie has this two as lead characters with the start showing how the guy falls into trouble by recruiting new friends wrongly and almost lost a life. It's amazing how things happen for things to happen. He is seen in church service that he reluctantly sits and listen to the preaching and singing from the choir. In the choir, he couldn't help but notice the most melodious voice among them and she happened to be the Reverend's daughter.

Meeting again during his community service and is made to act in a play, he had to make friends with Jamie who helped him with his lines and they found themselves falling in love with each other.

The movie is an old one but I couldn't stop noticing the fashion styles in it, how fashion has evolved from that time till now is surprisingly impressive. I also think a lot hasn't changed about having bullies in school, the bad guys, the good and oppressed ones and then, the quiet girl who would change things for good.

I wasn't surprised about these in the storyline but I definitely love that the old movie isn't so old compared to recent movies in that category.

Does the movie have a happy ending? How did Jamie change the bad guy, Landon? What is the walk to remember about in the movie?

You'll have to see the movie to find out but yeah, it's highly recommended if you like such kind of movies... Romance, drama, music. And yeah about the music aspect of the movie, I found a new song through this movie and I'm really glad I did. Will have more practice of it and sing it as much as I can because it is definitely one of those kind of songs for soul uplifting and I love the character voice in the song too.

Do check out the movie and have a nice time seeing it, you can also check out my favourite song from the movie here... Only Hope by Mandy Moore.

  3. A Walk to Remember (film): a kind of propaganda film that I actually enjoyed.@gooddream2846d

This movie did better than ok (financially) and despite the fact that I considered it to be a religious propaganda film that is typical of Nicholas Sparks, I enjoyed it quite a lot.

    affiche.jpg

I am not one for teen love films or even ones that star whoever the pop star of the day happens to be, but for whatever reason this film worked for me. I am not terribly religious, and i bear no ill will towards the people who are, but i do find it a little bit annoying when there is a hidden message inside of films - and this one has a lot of it - but i still found it compelling and touching.... despite the fact that it is a bit impractical.

    a-walk-to-remember-1.jpg

Landon is a typical popular high-school kid (played by Shane West) who gets into the usual trouble portrayed in movies by driving cars fast and drinking underage and what not and through a drama class casting situation he ends up in opposite Jaime (played by Mandy Moore,) who is incredibly straight-laced, virtuous, and basically everything that Landon would never be attracted to.

The story involves how they end up getting together in an unlikely (but oh so typical) story of the teen love story from the other side of the tracks.

What makes this special is, honestly, i don't know. I just ended up liking it. I enjoyed the preposterous love story that develops. Nicholas Sparks knows how to pull at your heart-strings and although the story is just completely over the top it ends up being not only good, but really endearing.

    a walk to remember.jpg

Teem films can be annoying. I really hate them for the most part. But i saw this film in the theater, bought it on VHS, and later bought it on DVD. I can't point out anything particularly wonderful about his movie from a cinematography point of view, there probably isn't anything that any critic would be nice about. Since this movie has a Christian religious message in it, Hollywood, being what they are, were always going to slay this movie. But it ended up making 30 million or so and I thought it was great.

I don't really know how to sell this to you. I'm not really trying to do so. I just know that this movie was panned by critics and i found it entertaining. So I guess you could say i disagree with them. I don't think this is a movie that would ever win awards despite the fact that it did win a few (MTV ones that don't matter.)

Whatever, i don't know what else to say. the next movie i recommend will also be a cheesy love story that I can't defend on any sort of artistic measure.
