Finally, after I don't know how long I stumbled upon something that I truly enjoyed on Netflix!

Apollo 10+1⁄2: A Space Age Childhood is a nostalgia / documentary / coming of age animated film that takes an interesting spin on the Apollo 11 moon landing.

The movie is mostly about the everyday life of your typical middle class american family (at least the ones from the area of Houston) when it comes to things like entertainment, food, the struggle between seven family members for a spot on the television etc etc. There's also a taste of political stuff like the Vietnam war and black rights and I liked how the movie mostly took a neutral pov..

There's also a bit of fantasy but don't expect much of it. It's mostly a documentary "narrated" from the innocent childhood memories of a now old (presumably) man.

I can't think of much to say, other than that I enjoyed the movie from start to finish. The only negative that comes to my mind is the weird animation which at first felt painful to my eyes and took a while to get used to..

I'll give it 8/10, a shiny gem amongst all the poop Netflix has to offer 😂
