   Desde muy pequeña me he sentido atraída por el arte a pesar de no venir de una familia artística, me gustaba muchísimo dibujar, crearle accesorios a mis muñecas, jugar con plastilina, entre otras más.

   También veía mucha tv en mis tardes de descanso y mi programa favorito, que jamás me perdía e incluso lloraba si pasaba algo que no me permitía ver los dos episodios diarios, era Art Attack.

   Since I was a little girl I have been attracted to art despite not coming from an artistic family, I loved drawing, creating accessories for my dolls, playing with clay, among others.

   I also watched a lot of TV in my afternoons off and my favorite show, which I never missed and even cried if something happened that didn't allow me to watch the two episodes a day, was Art Attack.

   Art Attack era un programa interactivo donde el presentador Rui Torres, quién ha sido uno de mis más grandes amores platónicos de la televisión, te mostraba y guiaba cómo hacer distintas manualidades para que las intentaras en casa; las manualidades eran bastante sencillas pero muy geniales, muchas veces eran cosas muy útiles para nuestras actividades diarias.

   Mi casa estaba llena de intentos de manualidades como algunas otras que sí logré completar, mi mamá a veces se molestaba porque gastaba demasiado papel, pega blanca y pinturas haciéndolas; había una sección del programa que también me gustaba muchísimo y me hacía soñar con tomar cualquier cosa que encontrara en mi casa y hacer una creación de esa magnitud, esta era la sección de Neil Buchanan quién te creaba obras gigantescas utilizando materiales absurdos, desde tela y juguetes como solo sal.

   Art Attack was an interactive program where the host Rui Torres, who has been one of my greatest platonic loves of television, showed and guided you how to make different crafts for you to try at home; the crafts were quite simple but very cool, many times they were very useful things for our daily activities.

   My house was full of attempts of crafts like some others that I managed to complete, my mom sometimes got upset because I spent too much paper, white glue and paints doing them; there was a section of the program that I also liked very much and made me dream of taking anything I found in my house and make a creation of that magnitude, this was the section of Neil Buchanan who created gigantic works using absurd materials, from fabric and toys to just salt.

   Literalmente crecí con Art Attack, ni siquiera recuerdo la edad cuando empecé a verlo pero sí recuerdo estar todas mis tardes frente al televisor viendo qué iba a intentar esa tarde; no lo dejé de ver hasta que la desgracia tocó la puerta del programa.

   En el 2008, lamentablemente, su presentador Rui Torres falleció por una sobredosis de medicamentos que tomaba para tratar su fuerte depresión debido a la perdida de su primera y única hija; siguieron transmitiendo el programa por muchísimos años después pero después de mucho tiempo, se quedaron sin capítulos archivados y decidieron cambiar de presentador, eso para mí fue imperdonable y, de hecho, no he vuelto a ver Art Attack a menos que sean los capítulos donde presentaba mi amado Rui.

   I literally grew up with Art Attack, I don't even remember the age when I started watching it but I do remember being in front of the TV every afternoon watching what I was going to try that evening; I didn't stop watching it until misfortune knocked on the door of the show.

   In 2008, unfortunately, its host Rui Torres died from an overdose of medication he was taking to treat his severe depression due to the loss of his first and only daughter; they continued broadcasting the program for many years after but after a long time, they ran out of archived chapters and decided to change the host, that for me was unforgivable and, in fact, I have not watched Art Attack again unless it was the chapters where my beloved Rui was the host.

   La muerte de Rui me generó una tristeza inmensa, básicamente fue mi primer crush de infancia y me motivaba mi vena artística a más no poder, aparte que la razón de su fallecimiento me fue sumamente dolorosa porque no puedo imaginar cuánto dolor pudo sentir para acabar con su vida de esa manera.

   De vez en cuando veo algunos episodios, me gusta recordar esos años felices que me llenaron de tanta pasión como motivación por el arte y me hacen ser quién soy hoy en día; Art Attack tuvo tanto peso sobre mí que mi lenguaje de amor secundario son los regalos y es porque me encanta crear distintas manualidades para mis seres queridos, sobre todo mi pareja y mi Mo @ilazramusic puede dar fe de ello.

   Rui's death generated an immense sadness in me, basically he was my first childhood crush and he motivated my artistic vein to the fullest, besides the reason for his death was extremely painful for me because I can't imagine how much pain he could feel to end his life that way.

   From time to time I watch some episodes, I like to remember those happy years that filled me with so much passion and motivation for art and make me who I am today; Art Attack had so much weight on me that my secondary love language is gifts and it's because I love to create different crafts for my loved ones, especially my partner and my Mo @ilazramusic can attest to that.

   Este año me propuse realizar o empezar a trabajar en muchas metas que he tenido en pausa por mucho tiempo, dos de ellas son relacionadas con Art Attack.

   La primera es comprar un hoodie rojo y estamparle el logo de Art Attack, cuando lo haga pueden estar seguros que me van a ver todos los días con ese suéter puesto. Lo segundo y creo que más importante como significativo emocionalmente, es una frase que Rui siempre decía al final de sus programas la cual ha sido una carga motivacional para mí increíble, gracias a esta frase no me he rendido con lo que me apasiona y me la voy a tatuar; todavía no defino bien en qué parte me la tatuaré pero es sumamente seguro de que me lo haré.

   "No necesitas ser un experto para ser un gran artista"

   This year I set out to accomplish or start working on many goals that I have had on hold for a long time, two of them are related to Art Attack.

   The first one is to buy a red hoodie and stamp it with the Art Attack logo, when I do it you can be sure that you will see me every day with that sweater on. The second and I think more important as emotionally significant, is a phrase that Rui always said at the end of his programs which has been an incredible motivational charge for me, thanks to this phrase I have not given up with what I am passionate about and I'm going to get it tattooed; I still do not define well where I will tattoo it but it is extremely sure that I will do it.

   Art Attack para mí no es simplemente un programa de televisión que veía de niña, es algo que dejó una huella gigantesca en mi infancia y me ha mantenido motivada con el arte hasta el presente, muchas veces he querido animarme a hacer una especie de Art Attack para Hive porque de verdad me encantan las manualidades y tengo mucha agilidad para ellas pero no he podido administrar bien mi tiempo como para proponérmelo.
