Beast || The fight for life@cute-cactus1253d
I pay extra attention to movies about the struggle for survival against nature or against any living creature in nature.
Because I know that when the goal is to survive, the people and the challenges will push the limits to the highest level. I think these kinds of movies make the fear and action more realistic.
Just like the movie I came across today, Beast, which unexpectedly turns into a struggle for survival during a trip to South Africa, was a very gripping and entertaining production.
Most of the time in such movies, a troubled family goes on vacation to overcome their internal problems. On the vacation where the problems are expected to be overcome, unexpected new problems arise. When these problems often turn into a struggle for survival, the family forgets their internal problems and pulls together to hold on to life.
As far as I can remember, I have seen dozens of movies that fit this description. The names, the actors, the duration of the movie and the place where the story takes place change, but the beginning of the story is usually the same.
In the movie Beast, a troubled family man tries to overcome his inner regrets and make a new start with his two daughters. When his regrets are towards the mother of the family (ex-wife) who is no longer with them, he takes his daughters to their mother's village and wants to spend time together.
This is the familiar beginning of the story, but we already know from similar movies that not everything will turn out as expected.
When I watch the movie, I think, do we really need new problems to arise or threaten our lives in order to overcome them?
Or do we need another limb to ache more severely in order to forget the pain in one arm?
You can watch the movie Beast like a safari to South Africa. You can enjoy the struggle for survival with family problems and new additional problems encountered. In this sense, I found the movie quite successful and I can say that it was definitely worth the time I spent. The absurdities in similar movies are not too exaggerated in Beast.
Idris Elba's performance as Dr. Nate Samuels, the father of the troubled family, was mesmerizing. Idris Elba's fight with the lion was worth watching, although not as much as Leonardo Dicaprio's fight with the bear in The Revenant.
›Disappointing! Beast (2022), Movie Review@esther-emmanuel1363d
Since I watched the trailer of this movie, I have been waiting and dying to watch this movie because of Idris Elba, one of my favorite actors, who was the lead actor in the movie. Honestly, I was excited and optimistic about the movie but at the end of the movie, what I was expecting, I didn't get. I was disappointed with the movie and wished Idris didn't approve to be among the cast in the movie. So I will just go straight to the point here and talk about all the flaws I noticed in the movie.
Beast, is a movie that was released on the 19th of August 2022 with Universal Pictures as its distributor. This movie is an American survival thriller that was directed by Baltasar Kormákur which was based on a story by Jaime Primak Sullivan. This movie starred Idris Elba, Leah Sava Jeffries, Sharlto Copley, and Iyana Halley.
The movie started with a man who travels to South Africa with his two daughters for a vacation with a family friend. Recently widowed Dr. Nate and his two daughters, Norah and Meredith arrived at Mopani Reserve where their old-time family friend who the girls referred to as uncle Martin welcomed them and took them to his home to get settled in and also to catch up on old times. So after a good night's sleep, the next morning uncle Martin takes Nate and his daughters deep into the animal reserve to see the wildlife and give them a tour around.
Showing them around, he takes them to see a local lion pride and then later discovered that all the people of a nearby community were all dead, murdered by a rogue lion that his pride was recently murdered by illegal hunters. With the lion being angry with the loss of his pride, he goes rogue and begins stalking, hunting, and killing any humans he could find in the reserve for revenge. Unfortunately, Nate, his daughters, and Uncle Martin were caught in the middle deep in the reserve. Will they all survive and will the rogue lion win?
My Opinion About The Movie And Recommendations.
I was disappointed after watching this movie even with how thrilling the teaser was, my excitement about the movie was dashed. Then I wished Idris Elba hadn't acted in this movie, the producers of the movie would have used another actor, not Idris. The first flaw I found in this movie is the fact that the producers, directors, scriptwriters, and those in charge of the Cinematography messed up the movie, making it bland and unrealistic.
If you have watched "I Was Prey”, a TV show by the producers of Discovery channel, you would agree with me that this movie was like a caricature of the TV shows. When I watched a few episodes of "I was Prey" on TV, it was like I was brought face to face with how brutal and unforgiving wild animals are when they attack and they are quick to rip their prey to shreds. The movie wasn't well portrayed in that aspect. Some scenes about the rogue lion were unrealistic and amateur.
Also, the scene where the people in the nearby community were murdered by the rogue lion was not well shot. The killing images were wrong on every level. It was like it was a giant Lycan that did the killings. For example, in the community killing scene where a bull was found with a woman mutilated and dead. The cut on the bull's neck was so deep, one would wonder if the lion killed with a machete. Lions Kill with their Mouth, they have sharp canines that were designed to tear through flesh. Lions and every other big cat kill through the throat regardless of who their Prey is which is always portrayed on TV channels like NatGeo Wild.
The unrealistic scenes in the movie brought me to how the plot or script was badly written. The writers are not experienced with how wild animals behave or their killing/hunting style. The storyline had some holes, like the dream of Nate about his dead wife. I find the scenes irrelevant and should have been replaced with well-written scenes about how the survival instincts of the characters are not to be stupid. Also, when Uncle Martin left Nate and his daughter unharmed and wandered off deep into the reserve, why leave the people you care about in danger to wander off and become a hero? How would a Lion survive a terrible fall from a cliff and not break a limb or two? How will a Lion survive a ghastly fire burn? Some many holes I wouldn't want to mention here to avoid a lengthy post.
Let's talk about the actors and the camera work. The actors' clothing was not selected according to the said weather of the Game reserve. Nate and his daughters were dressed like they were at a ski resort or on a cold weathered resort, but complained about it being hot and wished they had a fan that squirts out water. Idris did his best to make the movie watchable and I will say it was because of him I finished watching the movie. His daughters were the most annoying characters, amateur acting, so disobedient, their screams and too much talking and whining just made the movie kind of rowdy for me. It is one of those movies that makes you wanna reach into the screen in anger and just slap some sense into the characters.
Now the camera work was badly done too, it was like it was filmed by someone walking around with a camera, not a professional, especially during the tight spaces scenes, it was unstable and there was no 360° angle shot that would have portrayed the lion more fierce and realistic. Even Lion king (2019) was more realistic regardless that most of the scenes were shot in the studio. My only interest in this movie is all the pictures Nate's dead wife took. They are all beautiful and I love them.
To rate this movie, it is 3 out of 10 and 1.5 stars. If you are a lover of survival thrillers, I wouldn't urge you to watch it, but you should watch it if you are a fan of Idris Elba.
Hi guys, how are you all? Hope you are well. The movie I will talk about today is from Hollywood, it was released some time ago and a Hollywood movie means a different kind of attraction, whether it is an action movie, movie trail movie, love story, or any kind of movie, Hollywood movie is ahead of all.
The movie I am going to talk about is about adventure, or when a family head wants to protect his family. It would be wrong to call it full action, there is no hand fight scenario here, there are some song fights also out of necessity.
At the beginning of the movie, a small family goes on vacation to an African jungle. They have a friend there who acts as a guide, and here he has a family with two young daughters. They went out to enjoy different natural scenes but the danger they may face while enjoying this movie is explained in this movie.
The movie starts very nicely and you will like the way it is presented because if you watch it as a family with everyone together then you will not feel anything extra. I like how it is shown that way.
The real story of the movie starts shortly after the beginning of the movie, the village is shown in front of which most of the people in the village are very seriously or most of the people are dead because it seems that an animal has destroyed the village and the main character who is visiting with his family is very worried. How will they be rescued from here before they understand anything, a fierce lion suddenly attacked him.
The lion becomes so ferocious, destroying everything in front of him and killing every human being. The film has a little understanding, maybe if in reality, he met the king of the forest, he would attack like this, the choreographer who was presented very beautifully seems to The reality is that I like the thing, those who have worked in the movie, from the lights to the cameraman location, everything is perfect for me, I did not find anything lacking.
Yes, it would have been nicer with some changes, as shown in the second part, he is alive with injuries, but as far as science goes, if a violent animal attacks him and seriously injures him in the neck, the survival rate of that person is very low, maybe two percent if he is immediately killed. Medical support can be given, here I think it is a little bit lacking because the main character of this movie is injured and struggles for quite some time. After all, it is the movie that he must stay alive to save his family.
The director has presented the movie in a very beautiful way, that's why I will tell you in one word that if you want to watch the movie, you won't feel bad watching the movie, not that you will like it very much.

Beast was released on August 12 only in theaters and is an Action and Drama film that was directed by Baltasar Kormákur and with a cast headed by Idris Elba, Sharlto Copley, Leah Jeffries and Lyana Halley.
Personally, I really wanted to see this movie, since it gave me an air of the movie Carnada that was released in 2007, I have to say that they are not the same, but on some occasions Beast gave me Flashback of some scenes of Carnada, which I loved because I love that movie.
The Plot of Beast is very simple, Basically it is a father who along with his 2 daughters are stalked by a huge super wild Lion who has Thirst for Vengeance because the hunters massacred his herd and they will have to find a way to save themselves from it. His claws.
On many occasions the plot fell a bit, I feel that I had very high standards and unfortunately the film still owes me some things, I feel that it lacks more action, more strength to become a spectacular film of Killer Lions.
Although it did not meet my expectations, I managed to enjoy it; One point that I really liked is that if I felt the tension that you have to feel when watching this type of film, I loved the setting and the fact that they showed more animals apart from the lions, although this was in very short periods.
The characters were good, Idris Elba gave a wonderful performance playing Nate and he is an actor that I really like; Sharlto Copley plays Martín and I've really only seen him playing Wikus in District 9 and I liked how I play Martín much more although they are very different characters; then we have Leah Jeffries who plays Norah who is the youngest daughter and honestly I really liked the strength that her character transmits despite being a little girl and finally we have Lyana Halley who plays Meredith and I have to say that this character was the one that I liked the least in some parts of the movie and that stresses me a lot, but at the end of it all I end up appreciating her for enduring everything that happened.
In conclusion, Beast is not the best action movie, but it can be seen and can be enjoyed without any problem, it will not be a movie that you leave halfway through and despite the fact that personally I owe it to you, I would recommend it because I loved it that it reminded me of Carnada and because I really like Idris, I have to point out that this film is not meant for children. My Final Score is give.

I know I have gushed about how I like thrillers but Beast (2022) starring the ruggedly handsome Idris Elba is one of the best I have watched in 2022! Like the title says, this movie is heart-stopping and exhilarating.
In this American thriller/adventure flick, Idris Elba (Nate Samuels) plays a doctor, father of two teenage girls and grieving widower. His wife recently passed and before she did, they were separated. To rekindle his relationship with his daughters who are unhappy with how things ended between their parents, they travel to visit a South African wildlife reserve.
Arriving there, Nate's old friend, Martin, picks them up and takes them home to settle in. The following morning is sightseeing time…which quickly becomes a nightmare in broad daylight in the heart of the jungle!

Review
I've never been to a wildlife reserve before but from the little documentaries I have watched on the Discovery Channel and NatGeo channel, I believe that it's very dangerous in the wild, especially for human beings. It's the law of survival of the strongest and this movie displayed it perfectly.
Each scene was electrifying, especially the ones where the rogue lion pursued Idris Elba and his girls. I was literally on the edge of my seat and jumped whenever the lion pounced. The visual effects were smooth and so real. I loved the display of the gorgeous views of the South African wildlife and other sceneries.
The cast had great chemistry and their performance was outstanding, especially Idris Elba. The scene where he lures the lion into the other Pride's land and fights it was touching. He displayed a father who would give his life to save his daughters.
I appreciate that this movie covers the negative effect of poachers hunting the animal kingdom for financial gains. It's just wrong because these animals have feelings as well. The lion was out for blood because its pride was hunted and killed by the poaches. Poaching sends some species of animals to extinction.
Irrelevant Dream Sequences
The one part I find fault with is the dream sequences. I understand the writer and director are aiming for a kind of, I don't know, spiritual connection between Dr Nate and his deceased wife. However, I don't agree with the dream scenes interpolated a few times into the movie. It makes a viewer wonder whether it's a fantasy/thriller or mainly thriller/adventure.
More so, the dream scenes do not affect the plot of the film. Particularly the final dream scene where we see a woman crowned like a queen and flanked by some women. I assume the crowned woman is Nate's deceased wife. Of what relevance is this scene to the storyline? It does nothing to help the characters survive or escape the rogue carnivore.
In my opinion, the movie would do great without those scenes.
All in all, it's a great thriller and I recommend you watch it this weekend.
For some reason Beast caught my attention, I read an article about it that motivated me to take into consideration the possibility of seeing it, and although I did not expect much from it, I expected to find an acceptable entertainment and a fascinating plot, and that is precisely what I obtained. If you want to know more about this film, continue reading.
Year: 2017
Category: Psychological Thriller.
Director: Michael Pearce.
Cast: Jessie Buckley, Johnny Flynn, Emily Taaffe, Geraldine James, Trystan Gravelle, Oliver Maltman, Charley Palmer Rothwell, Shannon Tarbet, Olwen Fouere, Tim Woodward.
Plot
A grieving woman living in an isolated community on the island of Jersey is caught between the control of her oppressive family and the attraction she feels for a mysterious subject suspected of having carried out a series of brutal murders.
Opinion
Moll works as a guide while living with her rich parents, helping to take care of her father with dementia under the harsh surveillance of her mother, who controls Moll's life and treats her emotions with contempt and indifference, which causes her to slowly leave breaking internally which will lead to escape from her own birthday party, to go to a bar where she stays up all night dancing and talking to a young man with whom she goes to the coast at dawn, but at that moment the young man tries to have sex with Moll, and although she resists, he does not stop, so a stranger named Pascal Renouf appears, who scares the young man with his rifle, and then gives a ride to Moll to his house.
Quickly Moll will begin a relationship with Pascal, which will lead to free herself from her mother's control and reveal against her family and other close people, since they reject Pascal, first because he is poor and has a bad appearance, and in second because the community is very upset after a series of unresolved rapes and murders in which Pascal may be suspicious.
Thus the film begins to develop a wonderful psychological thriller in which everything is uncertain, including the very condition of the protagonist, terrified of herself by a disturbing past, and by frequent dreams and nightmares that suggest many things to the viewer. The killer can be anyone, but regardless of that the result affects Moll psychologically, who throughout the film is fighting internal and external battles.
The natural landscape shown in the shots are very beautiful, the weather looks great, and the scenes on the coast, in the woods, and in the open spaces suggest the passivity of a quiet place in which suddenly a threat has broken out.
The direction and script work done by Michael Pearce was very good, although it is the first time I see a film directed by him. The acting work is really very good, especially the work done by Jessie Buckley, whom I see working for the first time, and who left me impressed. Johnny Flynn also makes an acceptable performance, but evidently is overshadowed by Jessie.
In conclusion, it is a film that is especially based on deepening the psychological nature of the characters and creating an atmosphere that is contrasted in the environment, climate and tension of the protagonist, taking care of visual aesthetics and with a very good staging.
