Beatriz at Dinner is a 2017 comedy-drama film directed by Miguel Arteta and written by Mike White. An international co-production between the United States and Canada, it stars Salma Hayek, John Lithgow, Connie Britton, Jay Duplass, Amy Landecker, Chloë Sevigny, and David Warshofsky. It follows a holistic medicine practitioner who attends a wealthy client's dinner party after her car breaks down.

I had great expectations as I prepared to watch Beatriz at Dinner. I have seen different trailers and written about it several times, and recently I finally got the chance to watch the movie. The different trailers made it look really promising, and I decided a long time ago that this is a movie I would like to watch. In the opening sequence that serves to describe Beatriz's (Salma Hayek) identity as his protagonist, his job as a massage therapist, as well as his heavy week after his domestic goat is killed by a neighbor, we are also shown a Buddha statue and a picture of Mary side by side adorns his car.
