Intro
One of the animated films I watched when I was young was the musical fantasy Beauty and the Beast. When the live-action Beauty and the Beast was released in our country I made sure to watch it. I was so excited when I knew that the movie would be released in our country (in 2017) and my excitement grew more because the actress acting as "Belle/Beauty" is one of my favorites. I already forgot the story of the animated film so when I watched this movie the story was somewhat new to me again.
Narrative
The narrative of the movie is all about the normal life of Belle living with her father and the secluded life of the Beast in his castle which were forgotten by all the people who knew it before because the Enchantress erased all memories of the people who knew about the castle and the Prince.
Thoughts
The first scene of Belle/Beauty impresses me because the setting is so amazing it can be a tourist destination (see image below). The view of the succeeding scenes is amazing which looks like a little village with close-knit residents. The costumes were amazing and perfectly mimicked those of the French.
I was surprised when the movie showed how laundry was being done back in the old days with a donkey tugging a barrel to spin it (see image below).
The first time I saw the face of the Beast has me amazed because he looked real but not very menacing (at least to me).
When I first saw Lumière and Cogsworth talk I was astonished by the accuracy of the movements of their lips by the words they were saying their accent is also beautiful.
The scene in the kitchen when Lumière the candelabra is hopping from one place to another urging his colleagues is very amusing all actions are very nice and are very much like what I have seen in the original animated movie. Also, the energetic Chip the Teacup is amazing to see.
A little twist in the movie came when the Beast rescued Belle from werewolves when she attempted to escape from the castle. I knew the Beast would be going to save Belle at some point in the movie but I never thought it would a little bit earlier.
Seeing another good close-up of the Beast makes me think that he is not so menacing at all. His appearance is somewhat very likable instead of me being frightened looking at his face (see image below). Making him act like he has tantrums is kind of funny and makes his personality pleasing instead of scary and Belle teaching him how to slurp the soup is kind of cute.
One of the most amazing scenes in the movie is when Belle is about to have a dance with the Beast. Her yellow dress was so amazing which makes her so beautiful, as a girl I wish I could also wear such a beautiful dress (see image below).
The scene where Belle holds the hand of the Beast while walking together on their way to dance is one of the most memorable in the movie. They look perfect together (see image below). Their dance is amazing while the song Beauty and the Beast is their music.
The succeeding scenes were very fast when Belle was shown by the mirror that her father was in danger in the hands of Gaston so she immediately left the castle to rescue her father only to be also locked to the carriage where her father was locked by Gaston.
The scenes of the people trying to kill the beast make me think about how they were able to find the castle as it was hidden. Then the fight scenes that ensued were very amusing considering that people were against talking objects.
The acts of Gaston show how a malicious mind could bring destruction and death to everyone who corrupted it. Gaston's actions and malicious mind really can sway one mind into doing something without even knowing the personality of the person that they are going to kill.
Conclusion
The movie is amazing, the characters, the costumes, the dialogue, the animation, and the appearance of the Beast are all perfect. The beauty of Belle was outstanding and she became even more beautiful in her yellow gown that she wore for her dance with the Beast. The story of the movie is very light and not very stressful just like what I am looking for in a movie.
The scenes in the castle beginning from the time Belle first steps foot to the castle are amazing before the castle vibe of all the scenes which perfectly shows how the castle would look like.
The appearance of Beast is good-looking and not very menacing. If you love fantasy and if you already watched the animated version then this movie is definitely for you. Add up if you are also a fan of Emma Watson this is a must-watch.
This movie will not make you bored because it scene is fast-paced except for all the musical scenes of the movie. Each scene is very interesting and you will not think that each scene should have been shorter because they are all perfect (at least for me).
It is also good that they made Emma Watson very beautiful in this movie beginning from her first scene until she wore the yellow gown that she wore when she and the Beast had their first dance. Good job to the production that they made Emma Watson so beautiful in the yellow dress without lots of make-up. Emma's natural beauty came out when she wore the yellow gown and they also made the Beast good-looking while making him look like a beast and giving him some personality like the tantrums is very effective.
