Hate can lead to violence, and a 13-year-old girl is proof of that... "Becky."
Hi Hivers, today I bring you a review of a film that seems to be from another era, with action and even slasher clichés.

The existence of the genre "Home Invasions" always has different characteristics such as people who live in a house, can be a large or small family, a couple or even a single person, this also depends on how many individuals are those who will invade that home, there are very good films, many of terror and action, full of characters that are really crazy whether they are the invaders or those who must defend their home, the ones that I liked the most were **"Home Alone (1 and 2), Funny Games, You're Next, Us, Don't Breathe"** and **"Parasite"**, as you can see there are different ways to tell stories about this genre and that gives the possibility to keep on experimenting much more.
In "Becky" we see an opportunity to have a story somewhat different from those described above, although some may find that the events that occur in this film can be fantastic, I think it gives a good twist to the stories we always see in this genre, for example although we mainly see how four convicts invade a country home, this would be normal in this type of film, but in this story we will see how these four characters are those who must defend themselves from the attack of a violent teenager of 13 years of age.

The directors Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion, create the necessary environment for this film to have that image of the slashers movies of the 80's although they don't seek to exploit with a specific theme precisely from those years, the shots in the rural scenes both in the forest, huts, in the lake or in the house that is broken into are good shots that at times reminded me of horror classics like "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" and "Friday the 13th", but there is something that I liked very much and it's how at some moments the stories of the two main characters go in parallel and there is no line that separates them, maybe it was a way to show that each of them are not so different from each other.

The story created by Nick Morris, Lane Skye and Ruckus Skye, I think they show something great and certainly nothing original, but it is something that I think is well written and is the discovery of violence by this young character, this is something we always see in this type of movies, normal people who must take away the human and put themselves at the level of their aggressors to face them, but what if a person has already lost his humanity and only seeks to express the hatred he feels against everything around him? This is something new for me, to be able to discover what he is so capable of and not just see his use of wit as we saw in films like "Home Alone" or use that same wit and be violent as in "You're Next", the difference is that those films are characters who act on defense, the defense is that they must attack instead in "Becky" is a girl who from the first moment we see that she always wants to attack.

The performance of Lulu Wilson stands out in front of everyone else, despite her young age she has already participated in many horror and suspense stories, but I think this time we can finally see her as the real protagonist, having the camera in front of her in many scenes makes us see a good work by her, especially what her face and eyes express, the difference of his smile when he remembers his mother or is in the company of his dog "Diego" or when violence takes control and transforms him into what he has decided to be, his voice and attitude always goes like a fight between what he was and what he has become by losing what he loves most and I will not say that his performance at the end is something similar to what was seen by Anthony Perkins in "Psycho" (1960), but I think there is a successful tribute in some of his scenes.

This is a small film, fast, direct and violent as I think many of these films should be and more when you explore just that, the birth of violence in a very young character, I think there is the potential to see how far the story of this small and underestimated teenager can go, I hope the writers continue to create an excellent world where she will surely face other characters smarter and stronger than those we saw in this film. I've always been fascinated to find the reason why these violent or murderous characters do what they do and many times we get that revelation right at the end, but with this story we see an excellent development of how the desire to express anger is slowly evolving and I think the events that Becky is going through give her the possibility to do so. I liked the film, I was entertained in the hour and a half of duration and as I said before I hope they continue to have all this team of directors, writers and actress to continue to see that it is capable of doing violence in a person.
