Boushoku no Berserk is an anime that has already been released a year ago and besides having the theme of medieval fantasy anime with RPG elements, it also combines in a certain way the concept of the deadly sins which are also often used in anime stories, although it does it in a peculiar and interesting way.
This story introduces us to Graphite Fate, a young boy of level 1 and low social status, basically it is like a vagabond without many attributes and with the lowest level who besides having to do very unfair jobs must endure the scorn of the arrogant knights who protect the city, all to earn some coins to get their daily food, something that is extremely complicated due to its unique ability which is Gluttony, at first glance it seems that only makes him hungry at all times which is complicated when you have no money to buy food.
One day after an unexpected situation he is left in charge of one of the gates of the castle while the knights fight against bandits, in a very fortunate way he manages to avoid dying at the hands of one of the bandits and kill him instead, with this he discovers the true function of his ability Gluttony, it does not allow him to level up which is very disadvantageous but instead every time he kills any living being he absorbs their attributes improving his own causing that being level 1 he gets high level attributes.
The theme of the deadly sins is not only present in people, there are also very particular weapons that have their own life and carry names and qualities focused on a deadly sin, Fate's partner and the other protagonist will be Greed, a sword that can communicate telepathically with Fate and that his ability will be perfect to team up with him, In exchange for absorbing the strength and attributes of the user can level up the weapon and cause massive attacks, which with a person who is able to absorb the attributes of anyone who kills, ends in a very useful synergy where both become very strong overcoming all easily, besides creating a friendship as they travel and get to know each other.
The main attraction of this story will be the personality of Fate and Greed. At first Fate is a very distrustful young man who seems not to want to harm anyone, but as he gets stronger due to his ability to gluttony we see how in addition to gaining confidence begins to lose that fear to battle and do what he deems necessary to protect those he loves, no matter against whom he must fight or whom he must kill, even seems to take a certain desire for revenge against the corrupt knights who tormented the people where he lived, in the same way we get to know a little more about the past of Greed, as its origin is a bit strange and mysterious, also shows how he feels some loneliness because his own ability ended up killing their former owners or simply died of age leaving him alone with his immortality in search of a new owner.
The development of the story and the characters becomes interesting, really ends up being very different the Fate of the first chapter to the final chapter which is always good to see a clear change and improvement in the protagonist, everything related to the weapons of the deadly sins I ended up interesting enough without saying that it shows how everything seems to have a much darker and atrocious background than you could expect, also has a slight touch of romance and drama that ends up combining well with the action and comedy that ends up prevailing in the chapters.
Although this anime was not in charge of a great animation studio nor a very recognized one, at least for me. The work and designs are quite good and manage to create a good atmosphere for an anime of action and dynamic and explosive battles, although at times you may think that some CGI elements were used, the result is good and harmonious at all times. Perhaps the only aspect that can be criticized on a visual level is the fact that by using a very vivid and somewhat intense color palette, in some scenes the brightness and light scenes are very intense creating an effect of dazzling the viewer, you lose a little detail on screen due to the excessive use of lights. Leaving this criticism aside, Boushoku no Berserk ends up being a fantasy and magic anime entertaining and fun to watch.

Un estilo de anime que me suele gustar bastante es el de fantasía con temática RPG, animes en donde los personajes basan su fuerza y poder en niveles como si se tratara de un videojuego, aunque sin ser un Isekai o algo similar, simplemente un mundo de fantasía en donde es normal que puedas subir de nivel al hacerte más fuerte. Boushoku no Berserk se trata de un anime que ya cuenta con un año de haber sido estrenado y además de tener la temática de anime de fantasía medieval con elementos RPG, también combina de cierta forma el concepto de los pecados capitales los cuales también suelen ser usados en las historias de anime, aunque lo hace de una forma peculiar e interesante.
Esta historia nos presenta a Graphite Fate, un joven muchacho de nivel 1 y bajo estatus social, básicamente es como un vagabundo sin muchos atributos y con el nivel más bajo quien además de tener que hacer trabajos muy injustos debe aguantar los desprecios de los caballeros arrogantes que protegen la ciudad, todo para lograr ganar algunas monedas para conseguir su comida diaria, algo que resulta extremadamente complicado debido a su habilidad única la cual se trata de Gula, a simple viste parece que solo lo hace tener hambre en todo momento lo cual es complicado cuando no tienes dinero para comprar alimento.
Un día luego de una situación improvista lo dejan a cargo de una de las puertas del castillo mientras los caballeros lucha contra bandidos, de una forma muy afortunada consigue evitar morir a manos de uno de los bandidos y asesinarlo en su lugar, con esto descubre la verdadera función de su habilidad gula, no le permite subir de nivel lo cual es muy desventajoso pero en su lugar cada vez que mata a cualquier ser vivo absorbe sus atributos mejorando los suyos propios provocando que siendo nivel 1 consigue atributos de altos niveles.
El tema de los pecados capitales no está presente solo en las personas, también hay armas muy particulares que cuenta con vida propia y llevan consigo nombres y cualidades enfocadas a un pecada capital, el compañero de Fate y el otro protagonistas será Greed, una espada que puede comunicarse telepáticamente con Fate y que su habilidad será perfecta para hacer equipo con él, a cambio de absorber la fuerza y atributos del usuario puede subir de nivel el arma y provocar ataques descomunales, lo cual con una persona que es capaz de absorber los atributos de todo aquel de asesine, termina en una sinergia muy útil en donde ambos pasan a ser muy fuertes sobrepasando a todos con facilidad, además de ir creando una amistad mientras viajan y se van conociendo.
El principal atractivo de esta historia será tanto la personalidad de Fate y Greed. En un inicio Fate es un joven muy desconfiando y que pareciera no querer causarle daño a nadie, pero a medida que va consiguiendo mas fuerza debido a su habilidad de gula vemos como además de ganar confianza empieza a perder ese miedo a batallar y hacer lo que considere necesario para proteger a quienes quiere, sin importar contra quien deba luchar ni a quien deba asesinar, incluso parece tomar cierto deseo de venganza contra los caballeros corruptos que atormentaban al pueblo en donde vivía, del mismo modo vamos conociendo un poco mas sobre el pasado de Greed, como su origen es un poco extraño y misterioso, además se muestra como siente cierta soledad debido a que su propia habilidad terminaba matando a sus antiguos dueños o simplemente morían por edad dejándolo solo con su inmortalidad en búsqueda de un nuevo dueño.
El desarrollo de la historia y los personajes se vuelve interesante, realmente termina siendo muy diferentes el Fate del primer capitulo al del capitulo final lo cual siempre es bueno de ver un claro cambio y mejora en el protagonista, todo lo relacionado con las armas de los pecados capitales me termino interesante bastante sin decir que se muestra como todo parece tener un trasfondo mucho mas oscuro y atroz de lo que se podía esperar, también cuenta con un ligero toque de romance y drama que termina combinando de buena manera con la acción y comedia que termina prevaleciendo den los capítulos.
Aunque este anime no estuvo a cargo de un gran estudio animador ni tampoco uno muy reconocido, al menos para mí. De igual manera supo entregar un nivel visual muy bueno, su trabajo y diseños son bastante buenos y consiguen crear un buen ambiente para un anime de acción y batallas dinámicas y explosivas, aunque por momentos puedes pensar que se utilizo algunos elementos de CGI el resultado es bueno y armonioso en todo momento. Tal vez el único aspecto algo criticable a nivel visual sea el hecho de que al usar una paleta de colores muy viva y algo intensa, en algunas escenas los brillos y escenas luminosas son muy intensas creando un efecto de encandilar al espectador, pierdes un poco los detalles en pantalla debido al uso excesivo de las luces. Dejando esta crítica de lado, Boushoku no Berserk termina siendo un anime de fantasía y magia entretenido y divertido de ver.
