Citizen Vigilante

I'm absolutely delighted with Citizen Vigilante. For many, Uwe Boll is a bad director; some have even called him the worst filmmaker in history, worse than Ed Wood. Pure nonsense. There are several of his films that I've really enjoyed; for example, Postal and Rampage are two that entertained me. Are some of his films quite bad? True, but throughout his filmography there are also many that manage to be entertaining.

Also, as someone who devoured bad movies in VHS stores in the past, there are some so bad they're almost good. Uwe Boll hasn't retired, even though about ten years ago he said he was retiring from filmmaking. He's managed to secure funding for his films. Fortunately, there are crazy producers who keep giving him money. There are other recent films by this director that I haven't been able to find, because the problem is that he's continued directing, but finding distribution is the hard part.

On the other hand, it makes me laugh how the specialized critics, mostly left-leaning progressives paid by friendly media outlets, have torn apart Vigilante Citizen. A professional film critic named Jonathan Wilson has said that the film's message is abominable. I'm cracking up. Others have said it's poorly made, this and that, all with the aim of destroying it, so that no one buys the rights or distributes it, because that's the order from the Hollywood elite: censor Vigilante Citizen.

Herein lies the great controversy surrounding the film, because Uwe Boll has had the audacity to write and direct this completely anti-establishment film that openly denounces the barbarity experienced in several countries due to uncontrolled illegal immigration. The film has been labeled fascist. The same nonsense these leftists always spout. It has even been banned in Germany; you know, these progressives only accept art where they are the victims. They didn't want the agent to see it, and although they tried to sabotage it, fortunately word of mouth, and also the fact that Elon Musk offered it for free for 48 hours on X, meant that many people saw it and liked it.

I don't deny that the film could have been better, but I think the budget had a big impact, so, despite its flaws, which it does have, it's a film I enjoyed. The film is about a former soldier, heir to a real estate fortune, who, tired of seeing how justice fails to act against those who rape women and girls, steal, and want to sow chaos and crime—on the contrary, they are protected by left-wing governments and the victims don't receive the justice they deserve—becomes a modern-day vigilante and takes justice into his own hands, while Interpol is hot on his heels.

I recently read a statement by Uwe Boll where he said something like, if the film showed neo-Nazis raping and killing, it would be included in major festivals and have a chance of winning awards. But what it shows is a problem that affects many countries today, where illegal immigration and a lack of control over how people are received means that criminals now have more rights than law-abiding citizens. The message is political and timely, and that's why they wanted to censor this film.

To make matters worse, Uwe Boll has chosen Armie Hammer as the lead. He's rescued him from oblivion. Do you remember him? This actor certainly committed excesses and made mistakes, but, for example, the abuse allegations were dismissed, and the cannibalism accusation is no longer credible. I even saw a documentary about his case a while ago. The fact is that Hollywood banished him and relegated him to obscurity. This actor had to dedicate himself to something else, and now he's back, adding even more controversy to this film.

I liked Armie Hammer's performance. He has the most screen time and the story revolves around him, so I give it top marks. By the way, this type of vigilante film isn't new, nor is it the first time it's been made or generated controversy. There's a series of films; the original was called Death Wish and starred Charles Bronson. The first one came out in the 1970s, and at that time, New York was plagued by crime. The film's release generated controversy; it was also labeled racist, fascist, and so on. When all it did was expose a reality: that people get tired of the lack of justice, that criminals have more rights than honest citizens, and that's why they yearn for vigilantes who will kill.

1.313 There's a scene in Citizen Vigilante that I think will provoke outrage among progressives. They'll be shocked, they'll cry, and they'll be indignant. It was precisely because of that scene that they wanted to ban the film and prevent people from seeing it. I'm not going to tell you anything; we shouldn't spoil the story. I loved that scene because I like those kinds of situations, but I'm sure many others will love it too, especially those who live in countries where illegal immigrants and criminals steal, kill, rape, and impose their beliefs. Those affected will wish a Citizen Vigilante would appear in real life, and they have every right to wish it. We need to stop the nonsense and call things by their name.

If you're already familiar with Uwe Boll's films, this one will provide entertainment, with plenty of violence, blood, and, this time, a direct political message. He even dedicates the film to all rape victims. I enjoyed it. It's not perfect, but all the controversy surrounding it has, in my opinion, given it cult status.

And there's excellent news: I read that, due to its success with those who have seen it, the support of Elon Musk, etc., they're already working on a sequel that will be released next year. So, progressive activists, keep complaining.

La película ha sido tachada de fascista. Las mismas tonterías que siempre sueltan estos izquierdistas. Incluso ha sido prohibida en Alemania; ya saben, estos progresistas solo aceptan arte donde ellos son las víctimas. A mí me encantó esa escena porque me gustan ese tipo de situaciones, pero estoy seguro de que a muchos otros también les encantará, especialmente a quienes viven en países donde inmigrantes ilegales delincuentes roban, matan, violan e imponen sus creencias. Quienes se ven afectados desearán que un Citizen Vigilante aparezca en la vida real, y tienen todo el derecho a desearlo. Debemos dejar de lado las tonterías y llamar a las cosas por su nombre.

Si ya conocen las películas de Uwe Boll, esta les brindará entretenimiento, con mucha violencia, sangre y, esta vez, un mensaje político directo. Incluso dedica la película a todas las víctimas de violación. La disfruté. No es perfecta, pero toda la controversia que la rodea le ha otorgado, en mi opinión, el estatus de película de culto.

Y hay excelentes noticias: leí que, debido a su éxito entre quienes la han visto, el apoyo de Elon Musk, etc., ya están trabajando en una secuela que se estrenará el próximo año. Así que, activistas progresistas, sigan quejándose.
