La película no va de eso, aunque se perciba cierta ambigüedad en escenas puntuales, la realidad es que el sólido pilar de la película es la amistad pura.

The school environment in this case, acts as a society, where individuals are frowned upon and condemned for anything outside their established norm. It is the social structure that contaminates purity, that opens cracks in relationships, that breaks true friendships.
The film doesn't stop at the preambles of friendship, it also deals emotionally with remorse and guilt. Can a thirteen year old have those negative feelings? Yes, they can already discern between bad and good, therefore they can suffer pain and guilt, which every day will become unbearable, because when you have a good heart, guilt will consume you little by little.
At the end of its first half it will leave you shattered with the turn of events. Then, it will be the transformation of the child to internally accept the consequences of his actions, to learn to deal with the pain that he resists to manifest, but that sooner or later will make him collapse, maybe he will never feel forgiven, but his heart will be healed.
El entorno escolar en este caso, hace las veces de sociedad, donde los individuos ante todo lo que se salga de su norma establecida, está mal visto y condenado. Es la estructura social la que contamina la pureza, la que abre grietas en las relaciones, la que rompe las verdaderas amistades.
La película no se queda en los preámbulos de la amistad, también se ocupa emocionalmente de los remordimientos y la culpa. ¿Puede un niño de trece años tener esos sentimientos negativos? Sí, ya pueden discernir entre lo malo y lo bueno, por lo tanto pueden sufrir el dolor y la culpa, que cada día se hará insoportable, porque cuando tienes un buen corazón, la culpa te va consumiendo poco a poco.

I was really looking forward to seeing his new work, as it is his second feature film and he has even received a well-deserved Oscar nomination, although I see it difficult for him to win, there are other stronger contenders, for example, my favorite is SIm Westen nichts Neues.
It is a film starring children and where the adults are supporting roles, so the major work falls on the young actors Eden Dambrine and Gustav De Waele, who play Leo and Remi respectively. The character with more screen time is Leo, we will get involved in his life, his insecurities, his innocence, his pain. A character who is forced to lose any trace of innocence and mature faster. Life goes on, as well as the wind, that wind that Leo imitates with sounds.
Close shows us a beautiful friendship, but unfortunately the world is a cruel place and nothing is forever. Leo and Remi love each other as friends, but fate will force them to separate in the worst way. An ode to friendship that I recommend watching.

Close recibió un gran premio del jurado en el pasado Festival de Cannes, el cineasta Lukas Dhont ya había ganado un Certain Regard hace unos años en ese Festival con su ópera prima Girl, una maravillosa película que le valió el prestigio internacional y que también recomiendo . Tenía muchas ganas de ver su nuevo trabajo, ya que es su segundo largometraje e incluso ha recibido una merecida nominación al Oscar, aunque veo difícil que gane, hay otros contendientes más fuertes, por ejemplo, mi favorita es SIm Westen nichts Neues.
Es una película protagonizada por niños y donde los adultos son papeles secundarios, por lo que el mayor trabajo recae en los jóvenes actores Eden Dambrine y Gustav De Waele, que interpretan a Leo y Remi respectivamente. El personaje con más tiempo en pantalla es Leo, nos involucraremos en su vida, sus inseguridades, su inocencia, su dolor. Un personaje que se ve obligado a perder cualquier rastro de inocencia y madurar más rápido. La vida sigue, así como el viento, ese viento que Leo imita con sonidos.
Close nos muestra una hermosa amistad, pero desgraciadamente el mundo es un lugar cruel y nada es para siempre. Leo y Remi se quieren como amigos, pero el destino les obligará a separarse de la peor manera. Una oda a la amistad que recomiendo ver.
