  1. Contagion - Movie Review ( A Prequel to Covid 🤔)@vikbuddy1829d1 view

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, films dealing with infectious diseases are being re-emerged. And a lot of people have posted about those movies as well.

    Among them, I saw Contagion.

In the early days of Covid 19, there were a lot of comparisons between reality and the movie. The fact that it started with a bat was thought to be a film made by adding a bit of fiction to the scene with a different background.

Matt Damon (Mitch Emhoff ), the head of an ordinary family, loses his wife and son to an unknown virus within one day. Fortunately, he survives because of his innate immunity to this virus.

In the course of an epidemiological investigation to determine the cause of the virus, he also learns that her wife cheated on him while on a business trip.

Mart goes beyond hoarding and reaches the stage of extortion. Basic groceries are distributed through the military. People infected with the virus are treated in quarantined areas.

Jude Law (Alan Krumwiede) tries to get the media to report the first person who died from the virus, but he is ignored by everyone (though he later tries to make his own in the midst of this..)

Two doctors come out trying to figure out the cause of this virus. Kate Winslet (Dr. Erin Mears) makes people aware of the seriousness of problems in situations that others take lightly.

Lawrence Fishburne (Dr. Ellis Cheever), who oversees the virus outbreak, is the first to realize the seriousness of the situation and sheds information for loved ones. And that fact is revealed through the media.

Was it because of that? Later, he gladly yields the vaccine assigned to him, not to himself but to the son of a co-worker.

It's the end of the movie. When Matt Damon gets his daughter vaccinated, he throws a graduation party at his home for the daughter he's been patient with. And he invites her boyfriend to have a dance time just for the two of them. I watched it with excitement.

This is the overall review of the movie. Contagion movie was not a movie based on SARS in the past, but a movie that predicted Covid 19.

  2. Contagion (2011) review - One of my most crazy movie experiences recently!@unbiasedwriter2226d

The movie Contagion is originally from 2011, but due to the #coronavirus, the interest for the movie has gone to the sky. I have wanted to stream this movie on Netflix ever since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, but I haven't had the chance to watch it until now. But, yesterday was the day, and I have got to say - it was one of the craziest movie experiences I have had in a long time.

A prophesy that turned into reality?

I kind of did it all in the wrong direction, but knowing that the movie is from 2011, it had a cool effect on me. It almost felt like reading a prophecy from 2011, only to discover it and see that it has turned into reality in 2020. And yes... the movie had this extremely interesting effect on me.

    What is Contagion about?

A woman is returning to the USA after a trip to Hong Kong. After returning, she quickly gets sick, and soon ends up dead in her own home. Before dying, she was coughing and had a high fever. Quickly, more dead bodies show up. What has happened? Is there some new virus spreading? The CDC, WHO, and everyone is working to find a solution and to make sure it doesn't turn into a new Spanish Flu.

    The deja-vu feeling

Now, this is what made the movie such a special experience. I have seen it, been there, experienced it... in fact, we are living here today. If I didn't know that the movie was from 2011, I would have thought that it was created right now, based on what we are living today. Of course, there are a few things that we haven't experienced that can be seen in the movie, but in general, it seems like a copy of what we are living today.

Just like Bill Gates and the WHO are attacked today, there is a blogger in the movie played by Jude Law. He is spreading his beliefs, which also greatly spread doubt about the WHO (World Health Organization), CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Are they keeping facts away from us? Do they have a vaccine, but they only want to get it themselves first?

We also take part in the hunt for a vaccine, and we have explained the trouble in getting a vaccine quickly to the market (it has to be tested and accepted, etc.) Besides this, we get to know about social distancing as a concept to stay safe, the fact that health personnel often end up being the first to get infected, and so much more.

The number one movie to watch during the coronavirus!

It might be that people will find tons of mistakes in the movie. But, to me, the fact that I watched a movie that feels like a prophesy from the past that we can now see as reality had an amazing effect on me.

As a result, I would give this a strong 9/10 based on today's events.

If I had seen the movie one year ago, I might have called it a 7/10 movie or something like that, but due to the world we live in today, this is a great treat.

It should also be mentioned that it is packed with famous actors, such as Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne, Marion Cotillard, and many others.

    Where to watch Contagion online?

You can stream it on Netflix in quite a lot of countries, so I would check Netflix to watch it. If not, you can for sure find it in your local Google Play Store, your Apple Store, or any other online movie store nearby.
