I recently saw this new movie being released and since it had well-known faces such as Gary Oldman and Michelle Rodriguez I decided to give it a watch to see what this was all about. The story is about a very important health-related topic that has been affecting a lot of countries over the past several decades.
Opioid addiction is responsible for a lot of deaths, and according to this movie, it has caused over the course of several years, more deaths than the Vietnam war. This film provides several examples of how substance abuse can affect all types of lives and even cause moral shock in honest people.
Hace poco vi el lanzamiento de esta nueva película y, dado que tenía caras conocidas como Gary Oldman y Michelle Rodríguez, decidí darle un vistazo para ver de qué se trataba. La historia trata sobre un tema muy importante relacionado con la salud que ha estado afectando a muchos países durante las últimas décadas.
La adicción a los opioides es responsable de muchas muertes y, según esta película, ha causado en el transcurso de varios años, más muertes que la guerra de Vietnam. Esta película ofrece varios ejemplos de cómo el abuso de sustancias puede afectar a todo tipo de vidas e incluso causar un shock moral en las personas honestas.

There are 3 stories in this movie and all of them related to substance abuse. These stories are a bit intertwined with each other but they can also serve as independent stories. This isn't an anthology film by the way, but it could feel that way because the stories aren't integrated with each other very well.
One story is about a woman in her 40s, she is successful but suffered from addictions in the past, and she wants to become her best possible version because she has a teenage son. Something happens to her son, and she will begin an investigation on her own to figure out what actually happened.
Another one is about an undercover cop with an addicted sister trying to contribute to the war against Fentanyl cartels. This story contains most of the action and there are several interactions between the events of this story and those from the story I mentioned in the paragraph above.
Hay 3 historias en esta película y todas están relacionadas con el abuso de sustancias. Estas historias están un poco entrelazadas entre sí, pero también pueden servir como historias independientes. Por cierto, esta no es una película de antología, pero podría sentirse así porque las historias no están muy bien integradas entre sí.
Una historia es sobre una mujer de 40 años, que tiene éxito pero sufrió adicciones en el pasado y quiere convertirse en su mejor versión posible porque tiene un hijo adolescente. Algo le sucede a su hijo y ella comenzará una investigación por su cuenta para averiguar qué sucedió realmente.
Otro trata sobre un policía encubierto con una hermana adicta que intenta contribuir a la guerra contra los cárteles del fentanilo. Esta historia contiene la mayor parte de la acción y hay varias interacciones entre los eventos de esta historia y los de la historia que mencioné en el párrafo anterior.

The remaining story is about a scientist in charge of doing lab tests on a new drug to see if it is safe to use. The findings are extremely worrisome and when trying to do something about it he will realize that the industry where he works doesn't really have a moral compass. It is all about the money, not necessarily about health. The events of this story didn't have much integration with the other ones.
I divided the stories like this because it is easier to talk about them separately, but in the movie everything is mixed. In one scene you will see the mother talking with her teenage son, and then you might see the scientist talking with people in the lab. I think it would have been better to produce this movie as an anthology, but either way, I think the movie was fine.
If you are interested in a nice thriller with a lot of drama, then Crisis should be a good film to watch. It has corruption, crime, action, and drama, and this all results in a very entertaining mix. The movie might felt like it tried to cover too much, but for me, it was enjoyable nonetheless.
La historia restante trata sobre un científico a cargo de realizar pruebas de laboratorio en un nuevo medicamento para ver si es seguro de usar. Los hallazgos son extremadamente preocupantes y cuando intenta hacer algo al respecto, se dará cuenta de que la industria en la que trabaja realmente no tiene una brújula moral. Se trata de dinero, no necesariamente de salud. Los eventos de esta historia no tuvieron mucha integración con los demás.
Dividí las historias así porque es más fácil hablar de ellas por separado, pero en la película todo se mezcla. En una escena, se ve a la madre hablando con su hijo adolescente, y luego se puede ver al científico hablando con la gente en el laboratorio. Creo que hubiera sido mejor producir esta película como una antología, pero de cualquier manera, creo que la película estuvo bien.
Si estás interesado en un buen thriller con mucho drama, entonces Crisis debería ser una buena película para ver. Tiene corrupción, crimen, acción y drama, y todo esto da como resultado una mezcla muy entretenida. La película puede parecer que trata de cubrir demasiado, pero para mí, no obstante, fue agradable.

- The stories could have been properly integrated with each other. Or at least they should have presented the film as an anthology of 3 separated shorts.
