Welcome dear internet travelers lovers of the religious and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, some time ago I saw a review of an animated film that caught my attention "Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic", It was made by the traveler @soyunasantacruz which she asked me to label her when I saw her (Sorry for taking almost 2 months to make it 😅) to be honest the film caused me Interest since I liked the divine comedy and this seemed just as promising. Without more than adding grab your weapons that Virgil is waiting for us to guide us through the underworld.

Bienvenidos queridos viajeros del internet amantes de lo religioso y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, hace un tiempo vi una reseña de una película animada que me llamo la atención “Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic”, el mismo fue hecho por la viajera @soyunasantacruz la cual me pidió que cuando la viese la etiquetase (Disculpa por tardar casi 2 meses en hacerla 😅) para ser honesto el filme me causó interés puesto que me gustó la divina comedia y esto parecía igual de prometedor. Sin más que agregar agarren sus armas que Virgilio nos está esperando para guiarnos por el inframundo.

Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic was released in 2010, based on the game of the same name which in turn is based on the poem 'Divina Commedia' by Dante Alighieri, directed by Mike Disa in conjunction with other people, produced by Film Roman, has a duration of 1 hour and 22 minutes. It is an action and fantasy animation, focuses on Dante Alighieri a knight who fights in the name of god, this must for various situations embark on hell with the aim of rescuing his wife who is captive by satan, on his journey Dante must descend through the circles of hell to reach the center and rescue his beloved, During his journey he must not only face various spawns and demons but also all the sins committed during his crusade, being a journey full of violence and remorse.

Es una animación de acción y fantasía, se enfoca a Dante Alighieri un caballero que lucha en nombre de dios, este deberá por diversas situaciones embarcarse al infierno con el objetivo de rescatar a su esposa que se encuentra cautiva por satanás, en su viaje Dante deberá descender por los círculos del infierno para poder llegar al centro y rescatar a su amada, durante su travesía no solo deberá enfrentarse a diversos engendros y demonios sino también a todos los pecados cometidos durante su cruzada, siendo un viaje plagado de violencia y de remordimiento.

The animation is rare, it is changing styles throughout the tape which can be interesting and creative at first ends up being somewhat annoying for the viewer, the above is because it is inconsistent with its quality, in some cases the characters look like puppets while in others if they are stylized in a pleasant way; This also affects the fluidity of it, in some moments the sequences are exquisite to see and at other times they are extremely rough and boring.

La animación es rara, está va cambiando de estilos a lo largo de la cinta lo que puede resultar interesante y creativo en un primer momento termina siendo algo molesto para el espectador, lo anterior se debe a que es inconsistente con su calidad, en algunos casos los personajes parecen monigotes mientras en otros si se encuentran estilizados de forma agradable; esto también afecta la fluidez de la misma, en algunos momentos las secuencias son exquisitas de ver y en otros momentos son sumamente toscas y aburridas.

With the soundtrack I have no complaints, it is well done to the point that if it maintains a good standard to the point of accompanying the film in a good way so that it has that dose of epicity that it deserves at crucial moments.

Con la banda sonora no tengo ninguna queja, está se encuentra bien hecha al punto de que si mantiene un buen estándar al punto de acompañar de buena forma al filme para que tenga esa dosis de epicidad que amerita en momentos cruciales.

The construction of the world is not good although it is not bad either, suddenly it seems to have a good development of its context however as it progresses it is noted that this is very superficial, obviously you can not capture everything that the book has to offer but in the same way you can appreciate that everything it has to offer is too simple and does not exploit the great potential that gives the work on which it is based.

La construcción de mundo no es buena aunque tampoco es mala, de buenas a primeras parece tener un buen desarrollo de su contexto sin embargo al ir avanzando se nota que este es muy superficial, evidentemente no se podrá plasmar todo lo que tiene para ofrecer el libro pero de igual forma se puede apreciar que todo lo que tiene para ofrecer es demasiado simple y no explota el potencial tan grande que da la obra en la que se basa.

The plot feels incomplete, in many moments it is told in a hurry and even seems to lack details, the objective of the narrative is to focus both on the terrible punishments that are lived in hell and on the development of the protagonist in that scenario; Unfortunately it does not manage to do well neither one thing nor the other because it is noticed in a way that tries to condense as much information as possible which ends up damaging the narrative by ending up being something crude and hasty. It has one or another plot twist but these are quite regrettable and extremely basic so they do not generate too much impact when revealed.

La trama se siente incompleta, en muchos momentos la misma es contada de forma apresurada e incluso pareciese que faltasen detalles, el objetivo de la narrativa es centrarse tanto en los terribles castigos que se viven en el infierno como en el desenvolvimiento del protagonista en dicho escenario; Lamentablemente no logra hacer bien ni una cosa ni la otra debido a que se nota de sobre manera que se intenta condensar tanta información como sea posible lo que termina perjudicando la narrativa al terminar siendo algo tosca y apresurada. Tiene uno que otro giro argumental pero estos son bastante lamentables y sumamente básicos por lo que no generan demasiado impacto al ser revelados.

The weight of the whole plot falls on Dante but unfortunately this does not fulfill a good role as a protagonist, it is assumed that his main function is to seek the vindication of his sins repenting of these and thus achieving a catharsis, this does not happen, during the film does not delve into the character only his past is told that are 2 very different things. Dante has many possibilities to have a lot of depth but this never happens, since he only spends it killing things and whining because his girlfriend was kidnapped, he does not have those small personal moments where he makes himself known to empathize with him this makes his final resolution lose importance. Satan is the typical dark and evil presence who only wants to see the world burn and so on, an extremely flat and boring villain who has nothing to offer since his goals end up being pathetic.

El peso de toda la trama recae sobre Dante pero desgraciadamente este no cumple un buen rol como protagonista, se supone que su principal función es la de buscar la reivindicación de sus pecados arrepintiéndose de estos y logrando así una catarsis, esto no ocurre, durante el filme no se ahonda en el personaje solo se cuenta su pasado que son 2 cosas muy diferentes. Dante tiene muchas posibilidades de tener mucha profundidad pero esto nunca se da, ya que solo se la pasa matando cosas y lloriqueando porque su novia fue secuestrada, no posee esos pequeños momentos personales en dónde se dé a conocer para empatizar con él esto hace que su resolución final pierda importancia. Satanás es la típica presencia oscura y maligna que solo desea ver el mundo arder y demás, villano sumamente plano y aburrido que no tiene nada para ofrecer siendo que terminan siendo patéticos sus objetivos.

Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic results in a very tedious animation that is pretentious and doesn't really strive to make anything it exposes memorable; A weak narrative, a poorly made setting and a flat protagonist that feels very distant and unknown. That is why I give it 2 stars out of 7, it was an interesting idea that I can not cover the genius of the concept I had in hand, it is better to play the game and not see this horrible thing.

Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic resulta en una animación muy tediosa que es pretenciosa y realmente no se esfuerza por hacer memorable nada de lo que expone; una narrativa floja, una ambientación mal hecha y un protagonista plano que se sienten muy distante y desconocido. Es por todo ello que le doy 2 estrellas de 7, era una idea interesante que no logro abarcar la genialidad del concepto que tenía entre manos, es mejor jugar al juego y no ver esta cosa tan horrible.

Both the game as well as this animated film in question, is something I saw and enjoyed a long time ago, today I felt like saying maybe a little nostalgic and many things came to mind both video games, series and occasions shared with other people in various situations, the point is that I felt like watching this movie again in addition to the nostalgic factor, is because with the age that I have and the time that has passed and having a different mentality, I could object and draw a conclusion somewhat different from me back then, so only in this section I will focus purely on this film and if I make references according to the game I will do it as little as possible.

When I finished watching it, the truth if there were aspects present that I liked a lot and others that not so much, but I will delve into that later and if you notice the difference in perspective over the years the truth, although it maintains much of its essence and is very entertaining I also feel that is oversaturated in certain sections, but well this time I bring you the animated film based on a game and the game referenced one of the most influential poems in literature, entitled the divine comedy, with you Dantes inferno so let's start.

Tanto el juego así como esta película animada en cuestión, es algo que vi y disfrute hace muchísimo tiempo atrás, hoy me sentí como decirlo quizás un poco nostálgico y se me vinieron a la mente muchas cosas tanto de video juegos, series y ocasiones compartidas con otras personas en diversas situaciones, el punto es que me dieron ganas de volver a verme esta película además del factor nostálgico, es porque ya con la edad que tengo y el tiempo transcurrido y teniendo una mentalidad diferente, podría objetar y sacar una conclusión un tanto diferente a mi yo de aquel entonces, así que solo en este apartado me enfocare netamente en esta película y si hago referencias acorde al juego lo hare lo más mínimo posible.

Al terminar de verla, la verdad si hubieron aspectos presentes que me gustaron mucho y otros que no tanto, pero hay ahondare a eso más adelante y si se nota la diferencia de perspectiva transcurrida por los años la verdad, aunque mantiene gran parte de su esencia y es muy entretenida también siento que se sobresatura en ciertos apartados, pero bueno esta vez les traigo la película animada basada en un juego y del juego referenciado de uno de los poemas mas influyentes en la literatura, titulada la divina comedia, con ustedes Dantes inferno así que comencemos.

El infierno de Dante: Una epopeya animada, es considerada una película animada ambientada en una fantasía oscura y de acción, dicha película está basada en el videojuego que lleva el mismo nombre, fue lanzada el 9 de febrero del 2010 y distribuido por Anchor Bay Entertaiment.

Synopsis / Sinopsis

Our story focuses on the life of Dante a Templar who after the third crusade to return home to discover that both his father and his beloved Beatrice, were brutally murdered, however Beatrice's soul to ascend to heaven is taken by Lucifer and kidnapped, which drives Dante to travel through hell in order to save his beloved and defeat Lucifer.

Nuestra historia se enfoca en la vida de Dante un templario que después de la tercera cruzada al regresar a su casa descubre que tanto su padre como su amada Beatrice, fueron asesinados brutalmente, sin embargo el alma de Beatrice al ascender al cielo es tomada por Lucifer y raptada, lo cual orilla a Dante a viajar a través del infierno para poder salvar a su amada y vencer a Lucifer.

And well we are in the section that I like the most, okay there are several aspects that caught my attention in this movie, but there are others as I mentioned above that not so much and it is because in my opinion it was abused a little, but I have an idea of why it was done that way, although it also has things that are very striking and highlights linked to the simplicity of the plot, and the presentation of the environment in which we find ourselves. The Divine Comedy in my adolescence, was one of the first books that most caught my attention and I liked, that along with the book of the Odyssey, then have taken the creative freedom to use that poem and modify it, with a more dynamic and entertaining change at the level of dark medieval adventure is not bad at all the truth.

Let's start with the animation section, the one in which I have some doubts, I personally liked the animation, don't get me wrong, it looks very fluid and dynamic, however as Dante advances with Virgil to each circle of hell, the animation style changes drastically and this is reflected in our two characters at a physical level and clothing as well, at the level of dynamism I liked it but I feel that it was abused a little and it was quite oversaturated, mainly in the last changes and last circles of hell, My conclusion with this change is given by two things, the first is to show variety and play with styles, and the second is that this is mostly a personal interpretation of mine and is that technically Dante to enter hell, would be a soul and each circle in which it is located makes the essence transmute to a greater or lesser extent according to the meaning of the place in question, in which this, I repeat this is an interpretation of mine, and I may be wrong but that's how I think.

As for the setting is very good in this case, immersing you much more in the world or place so varied to which we will accompany Dante, a good quality of varied spaces according to what they represent in the original poem and mainly in the game, however only choosing those scenarios and most significant circles, The film was well done in this point, I have no complaints here, allowing us to show how under the elaboration taken from the game and the book how the demons, souls in pain and other variety of creatures that lie there are represented.

the plot that we are presented is quite simple and obviously modified according to the game, which is not bad this variant, but if there were certain aspects linked to the development or progress of the same that I did not like a little, such as when Dante gets his characteristic scythe, the little impact that was given to Lucifer and his participation in certain scenes only in some not all and how he got the cross sewn on his chest, are little things that originally in the game are shown in a different way, but I guess it was done that way to vary a little more and wanted to take a different execution and elaboration.

It's a movie that at best is entertaining and I recommend it, you don't necessarily have to play the game to understand what happens considering the simplicity and how it unfolds, or read the book for the same reasons (except for the changes with Dante and other characters, but in a somewhat light way) it contains very entertaining combat scenes, some more than others but enjoyable as far as it goes, and being honest for the time in which all this was given (2010), the film came out just after the game, as a way to advertise much more and recover the funds invested and what better to summarize all that in 1 hour and a little more at most, to the most significant aspects following the plot. And with this I end my nostalgic review of this movie, I hope you enjoyed reading it and thank you for reading and get here without more to say until next time.

Y bien estamos en la sección que más me gusta, okay hay varios aspectos que llamaron mucho mi atención en esta película, pero hay otros como mencione anteriormente que no tanto y es porque a mi parecer se abuso un poco de ello, pero tengo una idea del porque se hizo así, aunque también tiene cosas que son muy llamativas y resaltantes ligados a la simplicidad de la trama, y la presentación del ambiente en el cual nos encontramos. La divina comedia en mi adolescencia, fue uno de los primeros libros que mas llamo mi atención y me gusto, eso junto al libro de la Odisea, que luego se hayan tomado la libertad creativa para usar dicho poema y modificarlo, con un cambio más dinámico y entretenido a nivel de aventura medieval oscura no está nada mal la verdad.

Comencemos con el apartado de la animación, aquel en el cual tengo algunas dudas, la animación en lo personal me gusto no me mal interpreten se ve muy fluida y dinámica, sin embargo a medida de que Dante avanza junto a Virgilio a cada circulo del infierno, el estilo de animación cambia drásticamente y esto se ve reflejado en nuestros dos personajes a nivel físico y de vestimenta también, a nivel de dinamismo me gusto pero siento que se abuso un poco de eso y se sobresaturo bastante, principalmente en los últimos cambios y últimos círculos del infierno, mi conclusión con este cambio se da por dos cosas, la primera es mostrar variedad y jugar con los estilos, y la segunda que esta es más que nada una interpretación personal mía y es que técnicamente al Dante al entrar infierno, sería un alma y cada circulo en el que se encuentra hace que dicha esencia transmute de mayor o menor medida acorde al significado del lugar en cuestión, en el que esta, repito esta es una interpretación mía, y puedo estar equivocado pero así es como lo creo yo.

En cuanto a la ambientación es muy buena en este caso, sumergiéndote mucho más en el mundo o lugar tan variado al cual vamos acompañar a Dante, una buena calidad de espacios variados acorde a lo que representan en el poema original y principalmente en el juego, sin embargo solo escogiendo aquellos escenarios y cirulos más significativos, por bueno cuestiones de tiempo en la elaboración del largometraje y a pesar de eso a mi parecer en este punto se hizo bien, no tengo ningún tipo de quejas aquí, permitiéndonos mostrar el cómo bajo la elaboración sacada del juego y del libro como se representan los demonios, almas en pena y otra variedad de criaturas que yacen ahí.

la trama que se nos presenta es bastante simple y obviamente modificada acorde al juego, de lo cual no está mal esta variante, pero si habían ciertos aspectos ligados al desarrollo o avance de la misma que no me gustaron un poco, como por ejemplo cuando Dante obtiene su guadaña característica, el poco impacto que se le dio a Lucifer y su participación en ciertas escenas solo en algunas no en todas y como este obtuvo la cruz cosida en su pecho, son pequeñas cosas que originalmente en el juego se nos muestran de manera diferente, pero supongo que se hizo así para variar un poco mas y querían tomarse una ejecución y elaboracion diferente.

Es una película que a lo mucho es entretenida y que recomiendo, no necesariamente tienes que jugar el juego para entender lo que pasa considerando la simplicidad y como esta se desenvuelve, o leer el libro por las mismas razones (exceptuando los cambios con Dante y otros personajes, pero de manera algo ligera) contiene escenas de combates muy entretenidas, unas más que otras pero disfrutables dentro de lo que cabe, y siendo honestos para la época en la cual todo esto se dio (2010), dicha película salió justamente después del juego, como forma de publicitar mucho mas y recuperar los fondos invertidos y que mejor que resumir todo eso en 1 hora y un poco más a lo mucho, ante los aspectos más significativos siguiendo dicha trama. Y con esto termino mi reseña nostálgica sobre esta película, espero hayan disfrutado de la lectura y gracias por leer y llegar hasta aquí sin mas que decir hasta la próxima.
