We've all seen anime full of bloody battles and with powerful characters, either by birth, acquired under training or perhaps by some kind of mutation or experimentation, a few years ago now, I watched the first and only season of an anime full of such battles and with brushes of action, horror, supernatural, science fiction and biopunk
Deadman Wonderland
This anime is based on a manga of the same name, which was released in 2007 and ended in 2013, and from it was taken to anime a first season in 2011.
Now, Deadman Wonderland places us in a Japan in which, after a great land that sank 70% of Tokyo, people began to appear with powers that were called branches of sin, which allows them to use their blood as weapons through ramifications.
The protagonist of this anime is Igarashi Ganta, is a survivor of the earthquake, a teenager 14 years during what seemed a normal day at school, suddenly appears in the window of his classroom a man dressed entirely in red with his face covered and kills all his classmates, in a brutal and bloody way, leaving only him alive and embedded in his chest a red crystal.
Ganta is accused of the murders and sentenced to death, for which he is sent to a prison named Deadman Wonderland. Inside this prison, which was created for the purpose of becoming a tourist attraction to help revive Tokyo, dark events occur.

The music is decent, there is a lot of blood and violence present, I do not know exactly what censorship it has, but it is not an anime for everyone because of the level of violence and blood present in it, its only season has between 12 or 13 chapters (depending on which page you watch it) that you can see in online pages like AnimeFLV and AnimeID, there is also available an OVA with the same name.
In short, this anime leaves us wanting more and it is only something that those who dare to read manga will be able to finish, I give it a 7 out of 10, and you already saw or read Deadman Wonderland?

Este anime está basado en un manga del mismo nombre, que salió al mercado en 2007 y terminó en 2013, y del mismo se llevó al anime una primera témporada en el año 2011.
Ahora bien, Deadman Wonderland nos ubica en un Japón en el que, luego de un gran terreno que hundió 70 % de Tokio, comenzaron a aparecer personas con poderes a los que se les llamó ramas de pecado, lo que les permite usar su sangre como armas mediante ramificaciones.
El protagonista de este anime es Igarashi Ganta, es un superviviente del terremoto, un adolescente 14 años que durante lo que parecía un dia normal en su escuela, de pronto aparece en la ventana de su salón un hombre vestido completamente de rojo con el rostro cubierto y asesina a todos sus compañeros, de una manera brutal y sangrienta, dejándolo solo a él con vida y le incrusta en el pecho un cristal rojo.

Ganta descubre que dentro de la prisión se llevan a cabo de manera ilegal con patrocinio privado, distracciones como competencias en las que los reclusos mueren y si queda un sobreviviente obtendrá créditos extra para sus gastos, también que tras su encuentro con el hombre rojo tiene poderes de ramas de pecado, que hay otros prisioneros que poseen estos mismos poderes, los cuales pelean en batallas privadas muy sangrientas y que a todos se les dio nombres de aves.
Por otra parte, en esta prisión él conoce a una jovencita de nombre Shiro de cabello y cejas blancas, además de ser muy pálida, quien pareciera ser una chica normal, pero es increíblemente fuerte y al mismo tiempo dulce con Ganta. Lo ayuda en todo momento, pero esconde un secreto.
Hasta aquí daré detalles de lo que ocurre. Es esta única temporada, que es la verdad interesante, nos deja con ganas de más, así que si se desean saber que más sucede, hay que ir al manga y salir de dudas, pero yo lo recomiendo. ¿Es oscuro? Sí, pues, trata de mostrar cómo los seres humanos somos capaces de corrupción, explotación, de experimentar y esclavizar a otros sin tener ningún tipo de escrúpulos.
La música es decente, hay mucha sangre y violencia presente, no sé exactamente que censura tiene, pero no es un anime para todos por el nivel de violencia y sangre presente en él, su única temporada tiene entre 12 o 13 capítulos (depende de que en que página lo veas) que puedes ver en páginas online como AnimeFLV y AnimeID, también está disponible una OVA con el mismo nombre.
En resumen, este anime nos deja con ganas de más y solo es algo que los que se atrevan a leer manga podrán terminar, yo le doy un 7 de 10, ¿y tu ya viste o leíste Deadman Wonderland?

There are many mangas and anime which fall into the survival horror. I am sure you have seen some of those tournament based games where violence is a way to get out of the game. And so each one falls into pure survival and temporary team ups. A lot of those animes are being remade with various other concepts.
Deadman wonderland is one such anime where you will find the hyper violence matched with the survival horror plot.
So let's review Deadman Wonderland Anime.

Ganta is sitting in his class and his classmates are waiting for the teacher while doing the routine. Suddenly a mysterious figure comes in kills all the classmates except ganta. And then that figure embeds some crystal in his chest. It seems like he is chosen for some sort of curse. He wakes up realizes that he was blamed for all the killings and now being transferred to the new prison.
This new prison is interesting, here the prisoners are forced to work all day and also being forced to entertain the crowd with various tasks. Every step of the way there is either pain or there is some sort of the way they are being taken closer to the death.

From here the story takes ahead and you would come across few other characters who ganta sees around while his resolve to get out of the prison. So the entire anime is all about how ganta tries his best to survive and find his way out of the prison while there are people with powers who are forced into this prison too.
Considering the anime falls into survival horror and action. You would come across a lot of violence and also there seems to be a lot of violence there in the anime. I loved how they showed various powers and also the audio around the various power effects. I know they could have done better but considering this is more or survival theme, the powers and the audio associated with each is pretty interestingly done.

Each wonderland character is nicely drawn and also you would be surprised at the power of each of them. And though there is nothing surprising about it. You would appreciate how each of that is being used in the anime. So the overall animation flow for the series has been good. I didn't find any strong reason to critic the same. Though some people may expect Elfien lied type of the art and violence but I don't think that is needed here.
This is not your typical battle royale or prison break type mashup. The story is pretty deep if you check the manga before you watch the anime. The thing about the ganta is that first it appears that he is innocent looking face makes you worry a lot about the life and the survival in general. Then slowly the story shows you how ganta adapts to the current scenario and tries to use his power for the survival.
It is kind of pity that they didn't extended the season 2 for the anime and the worst part is that they strayed a lot from the manga. They could have focused on the manga but they did not due to show value. I think that is where the execution went wrong. They didn't worked up with the story and the execution as it goes deeper.

A lot could have done with the story. And the execution of such plots could be easier with the depth if done right. I struggled a lot trying to connect the dots. Things could have done better with the story but they kind of pushed a lot of violence and utter one sided bias on a lot of places which is kind of expected yet not done better in my opinion.
If you have Netflix then you can watch the 1st season there. You don't have the OVA on netflix and for that maybe you have to try out the crunchyroll or any other japanese anime. I have found them mostly on netflix and I have not watched the OVA unfortunately. I don't know if the OVA is even worth the effort considering the story is a bit dragged in anime.
I'd say the premise was better. Animation was better too. I thought the characters around the ganta were developing slowly and it was kind of fun too. I think if they stick with the manga there is definitely potential for the further seasons. I would love to give it a shot if they do some justice with the story and execution.
A lot falls bad in the execution. And there are wrong ends of the story which kind of makes you a bit falling into tangents which does not connect proper dots with the original story. I think more character development and better survival scenarios could be designed but for some reason I guess they were not into that.
I wont' say this is the best anime in survival action and horror category. I would say however that this anime has more of psychological vibe. And if you continue the manga you would notice the same. I do however have found out that anime like this needs depth and also not meant to rush things.
I'd definitely recommend this anime if you like survival action, horror and twisted stuff.

This manga was made by Jinsei Kataoka and was illustrated by Kazhma Kondou, this great manga was published by the Shōnen Ace in 2007 and had 13 volumes, its adaptation to the anime was made by the study Manglobe in 2011 and had 12 chapters which unfortunately did not adapt the entire history of the manga as its adaptation began when the manga was still on air so it was created a different ending, It was very unfortunate that this happened with his adaptation to the anime because the quality of this was very good and his opening and Ending made by Fade and Nirgilis were very good (I recommend you above all to listen to the Opening called One Reason because it really is brutal, I consider it one of my favorites not only for the song but also for its sequence of images). .

My advice for those who are not very fond of reading mangas is to give first a chance to your anime because it is really good and if the story manages to catch you after finishing it read the manga, as someone who has read a lot of mangas (seriously there have been many haha) the quality of the drawing of this places it among my favorites also that seriously the story is incredible, I do not want to bring more spoilers so please give a chance to this great work, I hope you feel great and we will see another opportunity.

Hola a toda la comunidad de The Anime Realm, espero que hayan pasado una genial navidad llena de muchos tomos nuevos de manga y especiales de anime jaja, hoy quiero hablarles de uno de mis mangas favoritos (y que para mí mala suerte no tuvo tampoco una fiel adaptación al anime aunque realmente fue de muy buena calidad) hoy quiero hablarles de Deadman Wonderland.
Este manga fue hecho por Jinsei Kataoka y fue ilustrado por Kazhma Kondou, este genial manga fue publicado por la Shōnen Ace en el 2007 y contó con 13 volúmenes, su adaptación al anime fue hecha por el estudio Manglobe en el 2011 y contó 12 capitulos los cuales lamentablemente no adaptaron toda la historia del manga ya que su adaptación empezó cuando el manga todavía estaba en emisión así que se le creo un final diferente, fue muy lamentable que esto pasara con su adaptación al anime ya que la calidad de este fue muy buena y su opening y Ending hechos por Fade y Nirgilis fueron muy buenos (les recomiendo sobre todo que escuchen el Opening llamado One Reason porque en serio es brutal, lo considero uno de mis favoritos no solo por la canción sino también por su secuencia de imágenes).
Este manga nos presenta la historia de Ganta Igarashi, un joven de 14 estudiante de secundaria (en este mundo un terremoto hundió el 70% de Tokio bajo el mar y acabo con gran parte de la población del país) un día Ganta está en clase y un hombre vestido de rojo y cubierto de sangre aparece por la ventana del instituto y mata a todos sus compañeros de clase además le introduce un cristal de color rojo dentro del pecho a Ganta, después de esta masacre Ganta es juzgado como si fuese el culpable y es condenado a muerte en la prisión Deadman Wonderland (el cual es manejado por una empresa privada y funciona como prisión para las personas que son condenadas allá y como un parque de diversiones para sus visitantes), la condena de Ganta consiste en un collar que irá inyectando veneno a su cuerpo cada cierto tiempo y el único antídoto es un caramelo que debe consumir cada tres días, para poder conseguir estos caramelos deberá participar en el Carnival Corpse (una batalla entre los reclusos considerados Deadman) en la prisión Ganta conocerá a Shino una muchacha albina y un tanto infantil que dice conocerlo desde hace mucho tiempo, para sorpresa de Ganta Shiro es muy ágil y extremadamente fuerte y ella se encargará de ayudarlo a sobrevivir en la prisión y de apoyarlo en su plan de probar su inocencia y descubrir al hombre que mató a sus compañeros el cual cree que está encerrado en Deadman Wonderland también, Ganta mientras está en la cárcel descubre que posee una extraña capacidad de poder manipular la sangre (lo que lo convierte para los dueños de la prisión en un Deadman) y describirá que otros recursos poseen está habilidad y pueden usarlo como armas, la historia nos mostrará el destino de Ganta en estás batallas y en encontrar a aquel que lo incrimino.
La historia de este manga tiene una gran carga de violencia ya que desde el principio se nos muestra de lleno gore así que no es recomendable para todo público, pero el desarollo de sus personajes, e inclusive el gran giro que tiene la historia (no les daré este spoiler porque realmente es algo increíble) la hacen para mí uno de los mejores mangas de este género que he leído, además que es inevitable no tenerle cariño a Shiro jaja y es que como se nos presenta también en el anime fue una forma excelente
Mi consejo para aquellos que no son muy fanáticos de leer mangas es que le den primero una oportunidad a su anime ya que en serio es muy bueno y si la historia logra atraparlos luego de finalizarlo lean el manga, como alguien que ha leído una gran cantidad de mangas (en serio han sido muchos jaja) la calidad del dibujo de este lo posiciona entre mis favoritos además que en serio la historia es increíble, no quiero traerles más spoilers así que por favor denle una oportunidad a está genial obra, espero que se encuentren genial y nos veremos en otra oportunidad.

Review for Deadman Wonderland.
Sinopse: A vida do jovem protagonista Ganta Igarashi, muda drasticamente em questão de minutos graças a um certo acidente. Todos os seus colegas de classe são assassinados por um ser estranho e como Ganta foi o único sobrevivente desse massacre, torna-se o principal suspeito do crime. Após ser julgado como culpado, ele é enviado para a prisão Deadman Wonderland, sob a pena de morte. Dentro desta prisão, Ganta terá que provar sua inocência, enquanto tenta sobreviver aos testes brutais que são lhe são ordenados a cumprir, enquanto descobre os segredos por trás dessa misteriosa prisão.
Deddoman Wandärando ou como é mais conhecido Deadman Wonderland é um anime de Horror e Ação, no qual seguimos a história do nosso protagonista Garanta Igarashi, que após um terrível incidente de assassinato em massa por um ser misteriosos, ele é levado como culpado para a maior prisão do mundo, entretanto ela não é uma prisão comum, ela possuiu um parque de diversos aberto ao público, que enquanto se diverte assistindo oque julgam ser um espetáculo protagonizado por prisioneiros, na verdade é um evento de morte o qual os prisioneiros são obrigados a participarem se quiserem sobreviver mais um dia.
Um ponto interessante do anime se da que não se passa um único episódio, sem que alguém seja extremamente ferido, isso se deve a um estranho fato da prisão, nela os piores prisioneiros, são separados dos outros e a eles são concedidos “poderes”, uma estranha anomalia que permite a eles manifestar seu sangue em forma de armas, como laminas, chicotes entre outras armas assim como nosso protagonista que utiliza seu sangue como balas controladas por ele a distância.
Infelizmente o anime tem alguns pontos negativos que deixaram muitas pessoas desapontadas, em principal o seu desenvolvimento, que devido ao anime ter somente 12 episódios, ele foi “finalizado” deixando inúmeras pontas soltas dentro de sua história, sem contar adaptou somente uma pequena parte do seu material original, o que na visão de muitos que esperaram ansiosamente o lançamento do anime assim como eu bem desapontados.

Ganta Igarashi nuestro personaje principal es un estudiante de escuela secundaria el cual tiene 14 años. Ganta es un sobreviviente del terremoto, pero él no tiene ninguna memoria del desastre y simplemente desea jugar el fútbol y vivir una vida normal. Todo cambió un día cuando un hombre misterioso cubierto en sangre aparece fuera de su ventana de aula. 'El Hombre Rojo' mata a los compañeros de clase de Ganta, pero extrañamente lo deja vivo después del incrustar un cristal carmesí en su pecho. La vida de Ganta va de mal en peor cuando él es culpado por los espantosos asesinatos y condenado a cadena perpetua en 'Deadman Wonderland'.
