    DigimonTamers.png

The third series of digimon is known to some as digimon 03 but its name is Digimon Tamers, many followers of the video game franchise say that it is the closest thing to what digimon is in video games.

    Digimon Tamers P1.png

The good: Where it seems to me that they gave more use to the #DigimonTamers protagonists, where the protagonists give power-ups to the digimon and help the digimon in their battles, it seemed like a necessary plus to the #DigimonAdventure franchise. It has many memorable songs which is one of the best things about the series. The design of the digimon is very good!

    Digimon Tamers P2.png

The best characters: For me, the best characters are Rika and Renamon, whose relationship #digievolves in such a way that they go from being characters that are distant from each other and the plot makes them connect to the point of having a very strong friendship!

    Digimon Tamers P3.png

The bad: I really didn't see anything bad about it, I have seen this #anime twice, I have re-watched as an adult several series that I saw in my childhood that praised them for #nostalgia, but with this digimon I can say that it still continues My respect for this series, obviously it is a series for a fairly young audience but it seemed like a coherent story to me, something I have not seen in several older series.

Hello everyone, I hope you have a happy day, this time we will continue with the Digimon recommendation, this time I will talk about the universe of Digimon Tamers.

This time it will not be as extensive because Digimon does not have as many animated products based on the Digimon Tamers universe as the Digimon Adventure universe does.

Digimon Tamers takes place in a world where Digimon are part of a TV and toy franchise, especially Digimon cards of which our protagonist Takato is an avid player who dreams of having his own Digimon, thus creating his partner Guilmon with whom, together with his friends Jianliang and Ruki, as well as his Digimon companions Terriermon and Renamon, will live several adventures defeating wild Digimon that try to invade the real world as well as various other threats.

In my opinion Digimon Tamers is a very good series which covers the themes in a slightly more serious way, having a slightly darker connotation than those of Digimon Adventure, although it is more because of the way in which the events are executed.

On this occasion, the protagonists' vacation will be interrupted when a virtual pet which has become very popular around the world turns out to be infected by a virus, causing havoc around the world, bringing several uncontrolled Digimon to reality and wreaking havoc. With electronic devices.

Our protagonists will have to find a way to stop all this chaos and defeat Mephistomon.

As for the quality of the film, I would say that it has a quality similar to that of the anime, although personally I would have liked the final fight to be a little longer, although it is not something that detracts from the film because It has considerable quality.

Personally, I liked this movie, I found it entertaining and action is not something that this movie lacks.

    Digimon Tamers

I downloaded the old #digimon #anime & watched it in #japanese for the first time.

Noticed many differences in the #arabic dub I watched as a child, but it was relatively faithful considering the dubbing state at the time.

Greetings to all readers. Many of us tend to underestimate children's anime, especially those that belong to a toy or video game franchise. But this time I'll tell you about one in particular whose ambitions almost take it out of its demographic.

    Historia / Plot

    Fuente

Digimon Tamers takes place in a different continuity to its predecessor, a world similar to our own where digimon are a toy franchise, at least until they begin to materialise in the Real World. A group of 10-year-olds, Takato Matsuki, Henry Wong and Rika Nonaka, team up with their digimon to become their Tamers in order to stop feral digimon from invading the Real World and a government organisation that also goes against the feral digimon, albeit with different methods.

This anime was in many respects branded as unsuitable for children, and if they said that in the 2000s, let alone something like it would be released today. While it starts off gentle with some adorable digimon who just want to have fun and each chapter ended with a monster to defeat, very early on children have to think about the possibility of their digimon dying, how cruel some of these beings can be in the wild who only think about absorbing information from other digimon to strengthen themselves as if they were animals in our world, a government organisation that sees all these creatures equally as a threat to the real world, and the dilemma of fighting back.

Already for the saga of the Digimundo what is usually an exciting adventure to another world begins with an emotional farewell of his parents and to be received by a digimon apparently powerful but that at night appear weaker digimons but that together in a stampede kill by accident to this potential ally doing that the children no more in his second day there already have to improvise a tomb, for colmo here occurs the first death of a digimon with a tamer to which leaves traumatized for the rest of the series. And the final straw was the D-Reaper saga, where a programme with Lovecraftian overtones tries to erase the entire Digital World and the real one, creating an apocalyptic scenario where the most listened to and feared thing is "destiny". It sounds like a pretty murky ride for a children's series (and it is) but it manages to stick to its demographic, and it manages to develop all these elements so well that there are hardly any negative points like Zhuqiaomon being a jerk who wasted time and allies he could have invested against the D-Reaper but didn't because he was too busy disliking humans, or Alice and Dobermon being two characters who only exist to grant the Tamers to reach the Mega Stage and then leave without a trace.

Takato Matsuda: He is a boy who with his imagination invented his own Digimon, Guilmon. He is an atypical protagonist to those of this kind of series which are usually brave extroverts, Takado is very sensitive and does not repress tears when he feels strong emotions, these things made him be remembered among fans as a crybaby, although the reasons are more than understandable: feeling irresponsible for losing Guilmon and that the police could hurt him, that Guilmon could disappear as easily as he materialised, the fear he felt when witnessing how evolution generated a violent behaviour in his friend, etc. Also, over time he becomes braver and more determined to fight (ironically when things get traumatic) and taking the leadership of the team.

Guilmon: is a Digimon born in the real world having the mentality of a baby in the first chapters until he reaches the mentality of a child like Takato, before he only cared about playing with his Tamer until he is given the responsibility of defending the city from wild Digimon together with Takato.

Henry Wong: Attends the same school as Takato in a different class. Although they are the same age, Henry is more mature, responsible and thoughtful. He met the Digimons through a computer game that was based on the card game. He is the son of Janyuu Wong (of Chinese origin) and has three siblings, including a younger one, Suzie, with whom he behaves like an overprotective sibling and his main reason for maturing. He tends to avoid conflict as he developed a great liking for Terriermon since he played him in a video game, his father told him and convinced him that since he was just a character it didn't matter if he got hurt, but when Terriermon came out of the screen badly hurt and fell into his arms, Henry developed a sense of guilt.

Terriermon: Is Henry's companion, who passes him off as a stuffed toy in front of others. He often uses the word "Momantai", a Cantonese phrase meaning "no problem". He wants to be a great digimon but Henry won't let him because when he evolves into Gargomon he is uncontrollable.

Rika Nonaka: She is known to many as the "Queen of the Digimons". She won the National Digimon Card Tournament (D1) a year before the events of the story, so she has a rivalry with Ryo Akiyama, who defeated her in the first final she reached in the card tournament. She lives with her grandmother and her mother, but does not have a very good relationship with her mother even though she does everything she can for her daughter. She is a closed-minded, impulsive and very competitive girl who considers Digimons as fighting instruments. This added to the way she treated Renamon made her an unpleasant character but incredibly her development as a character managed to gain some of my sympathy, showing that deep down she is someone capable of caring for others, which leads to a rapprochement towards her companions and the Digimon. And the best thing is that they didn't use flashbacks of her past to justify her character, but waited for her to gain sympathy after her development to give us the context of why she was so unpleasant before, a very clever way to make us empathise with the character without resorting to victimisation.

Renamon: Rika's companion. She is distinguished for being mature and silent. Always worried about Rika despite the way she treated her at the beginning and she accepted it since they both had the same goal of becoming stronger, she also has sympathy towards Impmon although he hated and envied her (which makes me think that she must have very low self-esteemto hang out with people like that).

Juri Kato: She is Takato's classmate. At first she seems uninterested in the Digimon card game until she meets Guilmon and from then on Juri wants her own Digimon. She later becomes Leomon's Tamer, whom she admires and adores. I thought she would be the typical boring female character who only serves as the romantic interest of the protagonist, but she turned out to be one of the characters whose psychology is more deeply explored. On the outside she was always cheerful, but after the loss of her partner she reveals that she also lost her mother when she was very young under the same words of "consolation" that it was fate's work. This left her traumatised and pessimistic about any hope of survival in the face of the enemy. She finally decides to take control of her destiny and smile again.

Leomon: Leomon was one of those who appeared in the real world accidentally and, after saving Juri's life, became her companion. He may look tough but he's also honourable, hence Juri's admiration for him (yeah... that's right, not that she's a furry).

Ryo Akiyama: He is a winner of the D1 National Card Tournament and makes an appearance in the Digital World saga. He lived there after disappearing a year ago from the real world because he had to control his digimon Cyberdramon, which merged with a digimon he had defeated in the past, making him a very dangerous being. The truth is that the character appears and disappears from the plot at will to show how cool he is, not to mention that he and Cyberdramon do have a backstory but it can only be seen in materials outside the series.

Impmon: A lonely, egomaniacal Digimon who at the beginning of the series hates Digimons with comrades and their Tamers, he appears to be unattached to any human until it is revealed that Ai and Makoto, a pair of twins, fought over him as if he were an object, prompting him to flee. When he travels to the Digital World he meets one of the Devas, who makes him fulfil a pact; Impmon accepts it and digivolves into his Mega stage, Beelzemon. He becomes so strong that he ends up abusing his power, and in a fight he kills Leomon, leaving Takato blinded by rage and Juri severely traumatised. But after seeing how she avoided his death despite what she did, Beelzemo/Impmon realises the mistakes he has made and goes through a period of regret. Later, thanks to Ai and Makoto apologising to him, he is willing to make up for his mistakes by helping the digimons and their tamers. From that moment on, Impmon becomes an ally.

Yamaki Mitsuo: He is responsible for the operation of Hypnos and the creator of the Yuggoth and Shaggai programs. At the beginning of the series he feels a revulsion towards the Digimons, believing that their incursions into the real world threaten the safety and well-being of the population. Therefore, he is determined to wipe them all out. However, after the disaster caused by Shaggai's mistaken activation, he comes to his senses and realises that not all Digimons are dangerous. From then on, he becomes an essential assistant to the Tamers.

The character designs have personality without resorting to exaggerated hairstyles and the digimon are cool without being as cartoony as the Pokémon. But the animation has obvious quality issues, the most obvious being the symmetry of the eyes, not to mention the stale CGI that is used during the digievolutions (except for Renamon's and that automatically makes them the best).

Surprisingly, in addition to the opening, there are two more themes that play during the fights and the passing of the cards, which are quite memorable. And it's hard for me to choose between the Latin Spanish opening and the original. I definitely recommend to watch the series in Japanese, as the Latin dub started off regular and when they got better they took some liberties and idioms that turned the Digimundo saga into a comedy, if it was to soften the dark tone it was acquiring, it doesn't make sense, there were already episodes dedicated to this and they were enough and that was enough.

    En conclusión / In conclusion

Of all the times I've seen shonen and seinen that have pretended to be dramatic and touch on heavy themes and ended up failing in their execution, this kodomo surpassed all my expectations. Of course, it had the advantage of having a writer from Serial Experiments Lain in its cast, why was he hired for a Digimon series? I don't know, but I'm grateful for it, deserving an 8.25 out of 10.

  6. [Retrospective Review] Digimon World 2@ahmadmanga2430d

Digimon World 2 is dungeon crawling & monster collecting RPG. It's a sequel that doesn't have anything to do with the first game in the series.

I played Digimon World 2 after finishing watching Digimon Adventure anime. I lost my Digimon World 1 copy by then, so I was excited when I found a new Digimon game in the store. It turned out way different than I hoped. It got me weeks to get used to. It even took me years to know some of its basic gameplay elements, but I liked it nonetheless.

    Enter the Domain

Digimon World 2 follows Akira, a new Digimon tamer who joins a "guard team" to defend the Digital World from threats. Akira starts taking missions to enter Domains and defeat their evil Digimon. Eventually he gets involved with an evil organization called Blood Knights.

The majority of the game happens in the Domains: Randomly generated dungeons with multiple floors. You travel these dungeons with a living tank called Digi-Beetle. It has it's own HP and EP (energy points.) Each move in the domain takes energy and you have to use Auto-pilot to return to the city when EP gets low. The Digi-beetle can be upgraded to travel more distance, endure damage, and avoid traps which can be found in domains.

The domains are full of wild Digimon that you'll have to fight when they get close to your Digi-beetle. If you sent to wild Digimon a gift they like before the battle, they might join you after you win. Recruiting more Digimon is essential to progress in the game because of the level caps and the DNA Digivolving mechanic which I'll explain about below.

    Battling & Digivolving!

The other main focus in Digimon World 2 is the battles. Parties with up to 3 Digimon fight each other. It's also where the strategy of this game shines.

    nhkqu2.jpg

Every turn you have to choose the action of each of your Digimon. Using techniques deplets MP but you can recharge it by guarding for the turn. There are four types of techs: Attack, Counter, Interrupt and Assist. Most of the techniques have their own effects and the best party contains Digimon with techniques that support each other.

The strategy in the battles revolve around the effects of techs and the Digimon types. Vaccine Digimon are weak against Data Digimon but strong against Virus which in turn is strong against Data. There are also the elemental types:, for example Water techs are strong against Fire Digimon but weak against Nature types.

Your HP and MP stay the same after battle unless when leveling up, in which case they'll become full. You'll find yourself trying to optimize your strategy to win battles with the least amount of resources used. Since wild Digimon always come in the same groups, you'll battle the same battles multiple times in order to gain experience or recruit more Digimon to use for DNA Digivoving.

When Digimon reaches levels 11, 21 and 31 it can Digivolve to the next level. From Rookie to Champion to Ultimate and finally Mega! The monsters of each level are stronger and have access to better techs! But the Digimon have level caps. The only way to increase the a max level is to DNA Digivolve.

DNA Digivolving is fusing two Digimon into one Digimon with stronger base stats and higher max level (and DP which determines their next Digivolve stage.) The new level cap isn't increased by much: The level of the first Digimon + (Second Lv/3.) The new Digimon also resets to a lower level. Fusing two Champions results in a Lv1 Rookie and two Ultimates to a lv11 Champion. The resulting Digimon depends on the two parents and some Digimon can only be aquired via DNA Digivolving.

That means you'll spend the majority of the aquiring new Digimon, leveling them up, and fusing them to repeat the process all over again. This along with the slow battles makes the game hard to recommend or even get back to, nowadays.

I have to say however, that Digimon in this game look cool. The game uses the same 3D models of the first Digimon World but there are more Digimon this time, and each one of them has more than one animation for techniques. There are even Digimon from the second season of the anime like Veemon and his evolution line.

Some Digimon like Veemon aren't encountered as enemies. So getting one of these Digimon via Digivolving and DNA DV makes spending time getting them worth it. I remember feeling so excited when I got Flamedramon for the first time!

Flawed Game But Has Its Audience

While the monster collecting and battle aspects is solid. It's drawn back by the level caps and the need for DNA Digivolving. Digimon World 2 is very grindy and time consuming. The dungeon crawling aspect isn't better. All domains look the same, and after a while they don't even feel "randomly generated" anymore. There are some colored tiles but most of the battles happen on the same brown screen!

0fckum.png A monster that intimdating, swayed by a Toy Plane?

There's also the voice overs: Every attack is voiced by its original Digimon but can be used by any other Digimon. It feels jarring when you hear the giant dinosaur Greymon use the chidish voice of Agumon. These attacks also use the japanese voices so some of them are different than the english text.

That's not to say, the game is bad though... Well, it is bad! It's too slow both in and outside battles! But there's something good about leveling up the Digimon and getting a new Digivolution. It feels worth it somehow. I also like the battle system despite how slow it is. There's a reason why some fans declare it as their favoite PS1 game.

I think the game would've been amazing if there wasn't that level cap that require DNA DV. While it'll be a short game and there will be less incentive to recruit new Digimon, monster collecting should be its own reward and shouldn't be "necessary" to pad out the game.

Do I Recommend Digimon World 2?

While I can recommend the first game. I can't recommend Digimon World 2 to anyone except those who like mindless grinding in games! The battles are solid but there are too many of them, and the story/characters don't really shine. Digimon collecting is fun but recent Digimon games have more monsters in them so I'd recommend those instead.

    What do you think?
