   Hola amigos de la querida comunidad de Movies & TV el dia de hoy quiero compartirles mi impresión de la película de Netflix ‘’Do Revenge’’ estrenada en el año 2022 y protagonizada por Maya Hawke (Eleanor) y Camila Mendes (Drea). Esta película había llamado mi atención desde el momento en que fue estrenada pero no la había visto si no hasta ahora. Es una película americana de genero humor negro dirigida y co-escrita por Jennifer Kaytin Robinson junto a Celeste Ballard.

   Hello friends of the beloved Movies & TV community today I want to share with you my impression of the Netflix movie ''Do Revenge'' released in 2022 and starring Maya Hawke (Eleanor) and Camila Mendes (Drea). This movie had caught my attention from the moment it was released but I had not seen it if not until now. It is an American film of black humor genre directed and co-written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson with Celeste Ballard.

   Drea es una joven adolescente que estudia en una distinguida escuela donde consiguió una beca para estar allí y tener un mejor futuro según ella. Pero estar rodeada de tantas personas con dinero y poder la hacen perder la cabeza y se vuelve alguien realmente superficial y vanidosa, su objetivo es ser reconocida como una de las populares y conseguir el cupo para entrar a una prestigiosa universidad donde quiere estudiar derecho.

   Drea is a young teenager who studies at a distinguished school where she got a scholarship to be there and have a better future according to her. But being surrounded by so many people with money and power make her lose her mind and she becomes someone really superficial and vain, her goal is to be recognized as one of the popular ones and get the quota to enter a prestigious university where she wants to study law.

   Las cosas se complican cuando Drea le envía a Max (su novio popular) un video sexual el cual termina siendo difundido por alguien de la escuela y la reputación de Drea se viene abajo. Drea esta decidida a encontrar quien fue el culpable de que su reputación ahora este en el suelo y es allí cuando conoce a una chica algo desaliñada y que le servirá como ayudante en todas las cosas que pretende hacer para hundir a su ex novio Max el cual al momento de que el video se hizo publico simplemente la ignoro y busco según el consuelo en una de las amigas populares de Drea, Tara.

   Things get complicated when Drea sends Max (her popular boyfriend) a sex tape which ends up being spread by someone at school and Drea's reputation comes crashing down. Drea is determined to find out who was to blame for her reputation being on the floor and that's when she meets a scruffy girl who will serve as her assistant in all the things she intends to do to bring down her ex-boyfriend Max who at the time the video became public simply ignored her and sought comfort in one of Drea's popular friends, Tara.

   La union entre Drea y Eleanor la chica que acaba de conocer y la cual tiene un pasado que le avergüenza hasta el momento y quiere buscar venganza, se vuelve fuerte y sólida. Ambas, más que todo Drea está llena de rencor y odio hacia Max y todo el grupo de populares sobre todo después que saliera el vídeo y Max convocara a todos los estudiantes para hacer saber que el estaba en contra de cosas que fueran "antifeministas" dónde da un discurso que habla acerca de las mujeres y cómo el apoya todo este movimiento, causando furor entre las estudiantes que si lo querían antes ahora lo aman. Todo empieza con la idea de destruir a la persona que avergonzó en el pasado a Eleanor, la cual fue una chica con la que iba a un campamento y le confesó que le gustaban las mujeres y ella la dejo en ridículo frente a todos y nunca pudo olvidarse de ese momento tan bochornoso. Drea se encargará de buscar a esa chica y vengarse, y a cambio Eleanor se cambiara de aspecto para estar cerca de los populares y así poder vengar la reputación de Drea.

   The bond between Drea and Eleanor the girl she just met and who has a past that shames her so far and wants to seek revenge, becomes strong and solid. Both of them, most of all Drea is full of resentment and hate towards Max and all the popular group especially after the video came out and Max summoned all the students to make it known that he was against things that were "anti-feminist" where he gives a speech that talks about women and how he supports all this movement, causing furor among the students that if they loved him before now they love him. It all starts with the idea of destroying the person who embarrassed Eleanor in the past, which was a girl with whom he went to a camp and confessed to her that he liked women and she made a fool of her in front of everyone and she could never forget that embarrassing moment. Drea will take it upon herself to find that girl and take revenge, and in return Eleanor will change her appearance to be close to the populars and thus be able to avenge Drea's reputation.

   La manera en que los escenarios llenos de colores vivos y muy rosas me recordó a la película de Barbie y otras cómo Clueless, también la película tiene un soundtrack bastante bueno dónde hay canciones de Billie Eilish hasta Olivia Rodrigo lo cual me pareció acertado porque es una película que va a un público juvenil. Hay escenas que te mantienen mirando y hasta dan un poco de risa, pero la película fue muy larga para mí gusto aunque al final entendí que habían razones para que tuviera una duración de dos horas.

   The way the scenarios full of bright colors and very pink reminded me of the Barbie movie and others like Clueless, also the movie has a pretty good soundtrack where there are songs from Billie Eilish to Olivia Rodrigo which I thought was right because it is a movie that goes to a young audience. There are scenes that keep you watching and even give a bit of laughter, but the film was too long for my taste although in the end I understood that there were reasons for it to have a duration of two hours.

   Mis actuaciones favoritas fueron las de Camila Mendes y Maya Hawke, ambas son dos actrices que tienen mucho potencial y que supieron desarrollar sus personajes en la película. Aunque me pareció que Maya se sentía como incomoda o solo fue algo que me transmitió, pero igual lo hizo genial. También hay apariciones de otras actrices y una de ellas es Sophie Turner, la cual hace el papel de una joven de dinero que también es víctima de los impulsos por cobrar venganza de Drea.

   My favorite performances were those of Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke, both are two actresses who have a lot of potential and knew how to develop their characters in the film. Although I thought Maya felt a little uncomfortable or it was just something she conveyed, but she still did great. There are also appearances by other actresses and one of them is Sophie Turner, who plays the role of a young girl with money who is also a victim of Drea's revenge urges.

   Lo que más me gustó de esta película es que no me esperaba el giro de la trama, fue cómo realmente impactante y una forma de cambiar todo el curso de la historia. La venganza es dulce hasta que te toca a ti recibirla, a veces nos queremos vengar de personas que hicieron cosas malas hacia nosotros pero cómo todo, así como das también recibirás. Increíble que no me espere lo que pasa ya en la última media hora de la película, me hubiera gustado que las escenas fueran un poco más contundentes pero bueno, las cosas salieron así y ya. Es increíble como el deseo de querer encajar en un grupo social o en una situación te puede llevar a casi perder la cabeza, sin importar cuáles serán las consecuencias y el hecho de que lo puedes perder todo. También deja varios mensajes cómo el de la avaricia y el del "el pasado te perseguirá a dónde quiera que vayas" literalmente. El momento que más rabia me dió fue el de Max dando el ejemplo de lo que un hombre cree que puede hacer por creerse superior, como tener relaciones con diferentes mujeres y a la vez mostrar la cara de "soy feminista" para quedar bien.

   What I liked the most about this movie is that I didn't expect the plot twist, it was really shocking and a way to change the whole course of the story. Revenge is sweet until it's your turn to receive it, sometimes we want to take revenge on people who did bad things to us but like everything else, as you give you will also receive. Unbelievable that I didn't expect what happens in the last half hour of the movie, I would have liked the scenes to be a little more forceful but well, things came out like that and that's it. It's amazing how the desire to fit into a social group or situation can lead you to almost lose your mind, no matter what the consequences will be and the fact that you can lose everything. It also leaves several messages such as greed and "the past will chase you wherever you go" literally. The moment that made me the angriest was Max giving the example of what a man thinks he can do because he thinks he is superior, like having relationships with different women and at the same time showing the face of "I am a feminist" to make himself look good.

   Antes que todo, hablemos del elenco que contaba esta película, las protagonistas son Camila Mendes como Drea, Marya Ray como Eleanor. Otras menciones serian Austin Abrams como Max, Aliash Boe como Tara y Sarah Michelle como Gellar. La sinopsis nos habla de cómo Drea es una becada en un instituto de lujo (por cierto ame sus uniformes a pesar que esa escuela este adorno porque nunca los vi en clases) y se filtran un video sexual de ella, arruinando su vida y con muchas ganas de venganza, quiere revancha. Puedo decir que en si su público objetivo son los adolescentes y jóvenes a pesar que sea +18.

   Hablemos de los personajes, a pesar que visualmente es una película muy de plástico mi principal conflicto es con ellos. Drea es una chica la cual ha intentado “sobrevivir” en un mundo donde ella no tiene nada, porque son puro ricachones de cierta manera entendí esto porque debe ser abrumador y más aún debe ser devastador que filtren un video sexual tuyo, pero eso no quita que realmente sus acciones son malas e ilegales, que su evolución es casi nula tal vez se arrepiente de ciertas cosas pero ¿y? realizo mucho daño y en lo personal la considero muy detestable, no es ni buena ni mala. Creo que la película quería que al final tengamos cierta simpatía con ella pero vamos, a mí me pareció un chiste porque su personaje no da a reflexionar ni un poquito.

Drea is a girl who has tried to "survive" in a world where she has nothing, because they are pure rich people in a way I understood this because it must be overwhelming and even more it must be devastating to have a sex video of you leaked, but that does not mean that her actions are really bad and illegal, that her evolution is almost null maybe she regrets certain things but so? she did a lot of damage and personally I consider her very detestable, she is neither good nor bad. I think the movie wanted us to have some sympathy with her at the end but I thought it was a joke because her character doesn't make us reflect even a little bit.

   Ahora Eleonor, creo que esta me dio fue como miedo. Es medio psicópata jajaja no lo sé si la otra me desagrado esta me dio como lastima y pena, quiero aclarar que me gusto la parte de la inclusión LGTB y me causo ternura al principio. Pero a medidas que la vamos conociendo vemos que de inocente no tiene nada, entiendo que te dañaron tu vida y quieres venganza pero creo que fue un poco retorcido y a pesar de todo lo malo que hizo junto a Dara, termino premiada, porque o sea le clavó un cuchillo a mi amiga por la espalda y oye eso nos une más, pero considero que las dos son iguales de toxicas y malvadas, como dice el dicho “Dios los cría y ellos se juntan”.

   Now Eleonor, I think this one scared me. She is half psycho hahaha I don't know if I disliked the other one this one gave me pity and sorrow, I want to clarify that I liked the part of the LGTB inclusion and it caused me tenderness at the beginning. But as we get to know her we see that she is not innocent, I understand that they damaged your life and you want revenge but I think it was a little twisted and despite all the bad things she did with Dara, she ended up rewarded, because she stuck a knife in my friend's back and hey that unites us more, but I think they are both equally toxic and evil, as the saying goes "God raises them and they get together".

   Hablando de los otros personajes, pues a pesar de que los meten como malos si tienen sus peles, ángeles no son pero no merecen tanta vaina como tal, bueno…Max si es un personaje bastante desagradable aunque la cinta a veces nos hace meter la idea de que no y bum. Pero en general todos son muy ñe, puedo decir que Tara es el personaje más decente de esto junto a la hermana de Max.

   Talking about the other characters, even though they are portrayed as bad guys, they do have their own skin, they are not angels but they don't deserve so much as such, well... Max is a pretty nasty character even though the movie sometimes makes us think that he is not and boom. But in general they are all very ñe, I can say that Tara is the most decent character in this along with Max's sister.

   No queriendo meter el conflicto interno que tengo con los personajes, puedo decir que estuvo buena para pasar un rato y para en si sorprenderte, no sabías quien era bueno o malo en verdad o si se merecían los que le estaba pasando, tiene un giro inesperado bastante bueno la verdad no sé si soy quedada (tal vez sea eso) pero yo no me lo esperaba. El final muy malo para mí por el hecho de ¿dónde quedan las consecuencias de mis actos? O sea ¿puedo hacer y deshacer y nada me va a pasar? Porque en realidad eso es nos que enseña esto, las protagonistas si intentaron dar una lección fue jodamonos entre nosotras pero no importa que somos BFF Forever, como dijo Dara “eres mi alma gemela” si porque están igual de locas, no sé si es por feminismo y no es por defender a Max pero hacen ver como el único malo de la historia al final y ¿ellas que? les doy un 4.5/10 y eso porque me gustaron lo uniformes mucho.

I give them a 4.5/10 and that because I liked the uniforms a lot.

   I watched the film ''Do Revenge'', which reminded me of my senior high school years. The film was a comparison, not in terms of subject, but in terms of reminding me of what I did at the end of high school.

   The production, which tells what the senior students of a private high school did to each other, was like a documentary in terms of showing that everything else was going on in high school other than lessons. Although it was a fun production and had a well-crafted story in the genre of comedy youth film, it was surprising enough to say wow.

   What caused me to compare it with my senior year of high school was that I didn't have time to look up from my studies in order to get into a good university, but the senior high school students in the film were involved in everything except attending classes and studying.

   The school farm was full of all sorts of shenanigans, including growing plants used in drug production. Despite all these negativities, the film can be entertaining when you find a place for yourself in the story.

   Although I criticised the story and the processing in the film, I found the 2-hour film entertaining in general. The plot within the plot made the film gripping, reminding the saying that revenge is a dish eaten cold.

   It had a different progression and ending than the high school or university youth films I have watched so far. Parties, skipping school, loves, intrigues, lies and many more activities, which are indispensable for learning times, are presented to the audience through the window of revenge. I say revenge because the main theme of the film is revenge, I did not understand why it was evaluated in the comedy genre because the film had more drama, ambition and revenge scenes than comedy.

   During the progression of the film, it was as if being accepted to the university was not a priority for any of them, towards the end, suddenly the university admission alarms started ringing and at that time I felt like saying where have you been until now.

   In my own time, the last year of high school is still in my mind like the time I went through the tunnel of fear; eating, sleeping and studying. It was a nightmarish year, on top of all that, with the pressure of the exam, the possibility of not succeeding was clawing at my brain. Fortunately, everything happened and passed. It's in the past and I remember it as a sweet memory like when I watched the film Do Revenge.

   I recommend watching the film to those who love youth films, if you watch it, I think you will understand the difference with other youth films after the first hour. Maybe you will have the opportunity to compare it with your own high school time. Or are high schools really like this? You can ask yourself the question... And if it is really like this, I can re-enrol in high school... lolol

   I think this dialogue in the film describes the moment when the bow hit the arrow right in the middle. My favourite scene and decision in the film was the option to work in the school grounds and on the school farm instead of disciplinary penalties such as expulsion/ suspension. An idle mind is more likely to think and do unnecessary things, it is easier to rehabilitate students when it is filled with work or activity. That is, if the aim is really to win them over!
