   Hello movie lovers in this beautiful community of hive, I hope you are very well today. Before I start I want to wish you a happy new year, I hope this year is full of many good movies, this time I share with you my review of this movie which I had not had the opportunity to see until today and it was a big surprise because of the fun and all the plot twists it had, it is a movie that is cataloged as a gem within the comedy and rom-com stories. Antes de comenzar quiero desearles un feliz año nuevo, espero que esté año este lleno de muchas buenas películas, en esta ocasión les comparto mi reseña de ésta película la cuál no había tenido la oportunidad de ver hasta hoy y que fue una gran sorpresa por lo divertida y todos los giros de la trama que tuvo, es una película que se cataloga por ser una joyita dentro de la comedia y de las historias rom-com.    Let's talk a little about the plot of it, in the movie we meet Olive Penderghast who is a high school student who once lied to her best friend to avoid going to a camp with her and her family, the lie was that she would have a date with a college student and what Olive didn't know was that this little lie would become the trigger of a succession of rumors about her that will make her reputation in school increase significantly however the lies will start to grow and these will start to affect Olive's life at school.

   The drama, comedy film has a great cast in which Emma Stone is the protagonist, we also have actors like Penn Badgley as Woodchuck Todd, Amanda Bynes in the role of Marianne Bryant, Dan Byrd as Brandon, Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci as Olive's parents, Thomas Haden Church and Lisa Kudrow as Mr. and Mrs. Griffith who are teachers at the school. Other actors and actresses included Alyson Michalka, Cam Gingandet, Malcolm Mcdowell, Johanna Braddy, Fred Armisen, among others, who played all those characters who were present in Olive's life and story in high school.

   Hablemos un poco sobre la trama de ella, en la película conocemos a Olive Penderghast quien es una estudiante de secundaria la cuál en una ocasión mintió a su mejor amiga para evitar ir a un campamento con ella y su familia, la mentira era que tendría una cita con un estudiante universitario y lo que Olive no sabía era que esa pequeña mentira se convertiría en el desencadenante de una sucesión de rumores sobre ella que harán que su reputación en la escuela aumente significativamente sin embargo las mentiras comenzarán a crecer y estás empezarán a afectar la vida de Olive en la escuela.

   La película de género drama, comedia cuenta con un gran reparto en el cual Emma Stone es la protagonista, también contamos con actores como Penn Badgley como Woodchuck Todd, Amanda Bynes en el papel de Marianne Bryant, Dan Byrd como Brandon, Patricia Clarkson y Stanley Tucci como los padres de Olive, Thomas Haden Church y Lisa Kudrow como el señor y la señora Griffith quienes son maestros de la escuela. Entre otros actores y actrices contamos también con Alyson Michalka, Cam Gingandet, Malcolm Mcdowell, Johanna Braddy, Fred Armisen, entre otros más quienes se dedicaron a interpretar a todos aquellos personajes que estuvieron presentes en la historia y la vida de Olive en la secundaria.

   La película estadounidense de género drama adolescente, comedia y romance fue estrenada en el año 2010 y fue dirigida por Will Gluck y fue producida por Zane Devine y Will Gluck. Olive quien está cursando la secundaria se ve envuelta en una nube de falsos rumores que hablan sobre su promiscuidad en la escuela, ella decide no confrontar estos rumores sino representar lo que estos rumores dicen de ella y aprovechar toda la fama y popularidad que estos le dan para alardear y ayudar a otros estudiantes lo que comenzaría siendo solo pequeños rumores terminarían convirtiéndose en grandes conflictos que empezarán a afectar en su vida diaria.

   Fue estrenada en 2010 y se encuentra disponible en la plataforma de streaming Netflix y en Prime Video y además también se encuentra disponible en cualquier página de películas.    I always heard many good things about this movie but I had not taken the time to watch it because I wanted to focus first on movies with more serious or different themes, with other genres and in general that were not comedy but today I decided to watch it and give it a chance because I did not want to see a movie in which I had to be 100% of the plot and analyze everything that comes out of it. Easy A is a hilarious movie, full of drama and gossip but characterized by how things happen without much premeditation which I thought was pretty cool and I could see how little by little the snowball of those rumors was getting bigger and bigger because something always happened to feed those rumors. I also found it funny how the film is based on a novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne, which is called The Scarlet Letter, which tells the story of a woman who is accused of adultery and for conceiving a child by a man to whom she was not married, condemning her to wear an A, adulteress, on her chest to expose her to the people who lived in that town and make her sin known, In the case of the film the story is taken as a reference since our protagonist is judged for being promiscuous but this does not affect her but it helps her to get a reputation within the school and to stop going unnoticed but not only this but she decides to use that reputation to help other people with a problem without knowing that later all this would mark her and begin to collapse that position she had. It is a film that plays with "Slut Shaming" which is to brand and reproach a person for having behaviors, behavior and sexual desires different from what is morally well seen and by playing with it I mean that the protagonist managed to use that gossip that they spread about her to turn it into her rise to popularity in high school, showing a different perspective on what teen comedies are, it's a hilarious movie that opened up new discussions about sexuality and relationships, and was a refreshing alternative where Emma Stone wasn't afraid to be a goofy and silly girl.

   Siempre escuché muchas cosas buenas sobre ésta película pero no me había tomado el tiempo de verla ya que me quería enfocar primero en películas con tintes más serios o de temas diferentes, con otros géneros y en general que no fueran de comedia pero hoy decidí verla y darle una oportunidad ya que no quería ver una película en la cual tuviera que estar al 100% de la trama y de analizar todo lo que sale en ella. Easy A es una película divertidísima, llena de dramas y chisme pero que se caracteriza por como se van dando las cosas sin mucha premeditación lo cual me pareció bastante genial y veía como poco a poco la bola de nieve de aquellos rumores se iba haciendo más y más grande debido a que siempre ocurría algo que alimentaba esos rumores. Me pareció también divertido el como la película se basa en una novela de Nathaniel Hawthorne, la cuál se llama La letra escarlata, y que cuenta una historia de una mujer que es acusada de adulterio y por concebir un hijo de un hombre del cual no estaba casada condenandola a llevar una A, de adúltera, en el pecho para exponerla a las personas que vivían en ese pueblo y dar a conocer su pecado, en el caso de la película se toma como referencia la historia ya que nuestra protagonista es juzgada por ser promiscua pero esto no le afecta sino que la ayuda a conseguir una reputación dentro de la escuela y a dejar de pasar desapercibida pero no solo esto sino que ella decide usar esa reputación para ayudar a otras personas con algún problema sin saber que luego todo esto la marcaría y comenzarían a derrumbar ese puesto que tenía. Es una película que juega con el "Slut Shaming" el cual es tildar y reprochar a una persona por tener conductas, comportamiento y deseos sexuales diferentes a lo que es moralmente bien visto y al jugar con ello quiero decir que la protagonista logró usar ese chisme que esparcieron de ella para convertirlo en su ascenso a la popularidad en la secundaria, mostrando una perspectiva diferente sobre lo que son las comedias de adolescentes, es una película divertidísima que abrió nuevos debates sobre la sexualidad y las relaciones, y fue una refrescante alternativa en donde Emma Stone no tuvo miedo de ser una chica divertida y graciosa.

   It's one of those movies that by the time we watch more than 30 minutes we know it's not real as many of the events that occur as they would have a different reaction to how it was given in the movie but still the fact that everything can somehow be resolved or Olive got popularity through that make the movie fun and brilliant. And even though the real villain of the film is the sexual two-facedness that exists that elevates men for their sexuality while belittling women for their sexuality, the most obvious and visible villain is the members of the high school Christian club for the way they tried to show that what Olive was supposedly doing was wrong and that she would end up in hell for it (when one of the members did have sex without being married despite supposedly being part of the thinking and beliefs of that community) showing the hypocrisy while hiding behind a religion but believing they have every right to judge others for their personal decisions and not only that but also how they show homophobia and how they portray it from verbal to physical abuse where the main character had to pretend she was with a gay guy to avoid further abuse, showing how even in places where we should feel supported for being ourselves we are judged and mistreated.

   It is hilarious and at times will leave you thinking about some of the situations that occur in it, it is one of the standout films of Emma Stone's career because of how entertaining it is, with her smart attitude, It is not only a movie remembered for her incredible performance but also for an iconic scene where we can see Emma singing (after hating it) the song "Pocketful Of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield at the top of her lungs and at different moments which has been used as a meme to represent us when we first hate a catchy song and then we can't stop singing it.

   Es una de esas películas que al momento de ver más de 30 minutos sabemos que no es real ya que muchos de los eventos que ocurren pues tendrían una reacción distinta a como se dió en la película pero aún así el hecho de que todo se pueda resolver de alguna forma o que Olive consiguiera la popularidad a través de eso hacen que la película sea divertida y brillante. Y aunque el verdadero villano de la película es la doble cara sexual que existe y que eleva a los hombres por su sexualidad mientras menosprecia a las mujeres por su sexualidad, el villano más obvio y visible son los miembros del club cristiano de la secundaria por la forma en la que intentaron demostrar que lo que supuestamente hacía Olive era algo malo y que terminaría en el infierno por ello (cuando uno de los miembros si tenía relaciones sexuales sin estar casado a pesar de supuestamente ser parte de el pensamiento y creencias de esa comunidad) demostrando la hipocresía mientras que se ocultan detrás de una religión pero que creen estar en todo su derecho de juzgar a otros por sus decisiones personales y no solo eso sino también el como muestran la homofobia y como la representan desde abuso verbal hasta físico en donde la protagonista tuvo que fingir que estaba con un chico gay para así evitar que siguiera este maltrato, mostrando como incluso en lugares en donde deberíamos sentirnos apoyados por ser nosotros mismos somos juzgados y maltratados.

   Es divertidísima y que en ocasiones te dejará pensando sobre algunas de las situaciones que ocurren en ella, es una de las películas que destacan de la carrera de Emma Stone por lo entretenida que es, con su actitud inteligente, divertida y sarcástica hace que su personaje sea recordado por sus fans y por los fans de las comedias y que no solo es una película recordada por su actuación increíble sino por una escena icónica en donde podemos ver a Emma cantando (luego de odiarla) la canción "Pocketful Of Sunshine de Natasha Bedingfield a todo pulmón y en diferentes momentos la cual ha sido usada como un meme para representarnos cuando primero odiamos una canción pegadiza y luego no podemos parar de cantarla.

   It's a fun movie that serves as a great way to get away from real life and all its dramas but still focused on life and how a rumor can change your whole life but it's up to you to decide how it will affect you, if you accept it and care very little about what others think of you or if you pretend to be someone you are not just for social acceptance. I admit that now I understand why many people add this movie to their comedy favorites as Emma Stone did a wonderful job being that weird, funny and sarcastic character Olive, it is a memorable movie that even, in my opinion, is at the same height and importance as Mean Girls and Clueless which are great classics of romance and teen comedy.

   Es una película divertida que sirve mucho para despejarse de la vida real y todo sus dramas pero sin dejar de estar centrada en la vida y en como un rumor puede cambiar toda tu vida pero eres tu quien decide en como te va a afectar eso, si lo aceptas y te importa muy poco lo que piensen los demás de ti o si pretendes ser alguien que no eres solo por aceptación social. Admito que ahora entiendo el por qué muchas personas agregan ésta película a sus favoritas de comedia ya que Emma Stone realizó un trabajo maravilloso siendo ese personaje tan raro, divertido y sarcástico como lo es Olive, es una película memorables que incluso, según mi opinión, está a la misma altura y importancia como Mean Girls y Clueless las cuales son grandes clásicos de romance y comedia adolescente.

   On a quiet Sunday like this week, I have lately opted to spend most of the day watching movies, or so I try to do whenever I can. One exercise I love to do is to watch the ones that are broadcast on television, because that makes me watch movies of various genres, which otherwise I wouldn't seek to watch or wouldn't even think of them as a first choice. Today's is one that I had seen years ago, but enjoyed watching it as if it were the first time, is "It is said of me" (2010), starring Emma Stone in one of her first film roles.

   En un tranquilo domingo como el de esta semana, últimamente he optado por dedicarme a ver películas la mayor parte del día, o eso trato de hacer siempre que puedo. Un ejercicio que me encanta hacer es ver las que transmiten por televisión, porque eso me hace ver películas de varios géneros, que de otra manera no buscaría ver o no pensaría siquiera en ellas como primera opción. La de hoy que es una que había visto hace años, pero que disfruté verla como si fuera la primera vez, es “Se dice de mí” (2010), protagonizada por Emma Stone en uno de sus primeros papeles en el cine.

   This movie is directed by Will Gluck, and brings together actors like Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Aly Michalka, Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson, Lisa Kudrow and Dan Byrd, just to mention a few. I was struck since I saw it by the weighty names that make up the cast of this film, some come from works with more serious tones and others already had time immersed in teen dramas or comedies, but be that as it may, all constitute one of the strongest points in this story, which has a premise conveyed in a fresh and fun way, although that does not detract from the seriousness of the criticism that makes around the sex life and intimacy of a person, however, we will see what this is about later.

   Esta película está dirigida por Will Gluck, y reúne a actores como Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Aly Michalka, Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson, Lisa Kudrow y Dan Byrd, sólo por mencionar algunos. Me llamó la atención desde que la vi los nombres de peso que conforman el elenco de esta película, algunos vienen de obras con tonos más serios y otros ya tenían tiempo inmersos en dramas o comedias adolescentes, pero sea como sea, todos constituyen uno de los puntos más fuertes en esta historia, que tiene una premisa transmitida de una manera fresca y divertida, aunque eso no resta la seriedad de la crítica que hace en torno a la vida sexual y la intimidad de una persona, sin embargo, veremos de qué va esto más adelante.

   Emma embodies Olive Penderghast, a 17-year-old girl who lives with her parents, has a best friend, goes to her high school, and in that sense everything is conventional, but what makes Olive's life interesting is that her parents are very liberal (seriously, I think they're the most liberal pair of parents I've ever seen in a teen comedy), her best friend has hippy parents, she takes us through this episode of her life via a webcam, in a style similar to vlogging, and we can't forget that she's a virgin.

   That she's a virgin is nobody's business, until to escape an engagement with her best friend Rhiannon and her parents, she makes up an excuse that she had a date with a college boy (when in fact she spent the weekend at home listening to a rather irritating song), and after pressure from Rhiannon, she went even further with the lie and told her that she lost her virginity to this fictitious boy. Fictitious because she's clearly made it up to get out of the way, but not so for Marianne, the leader of the high school church group where they study, who takes her classmate's potential promiscuity very seriously, never letting go of her prejudices on the subject in her campaign to "save" her from the sinful path she's taking.

   To give more reasons to talk about, and also to help her friend Brandon, Olive pretends to have sex with him at a party.    For a while, this new persona Olive has adopted works for her, because other guys have approached her to have an arrangement just like Brandon's, where in exchange for giving her small gifts, she agreed to let them spread the rumor that they had slept with her. Basically, Olive nurtured a reputation based on a lie, but of course, no one cared if she was a virgin, people cared to see how the girl who went unnoticed and unblemished reputation, overnight has become a bad girl who was the source of entertainment for a repressed student population.

   These arrangements soon began to bring Olive a lot of trouble. She lost a friendship at the cost of maintaining this new "promiscuous" reputation, her parents although liberal in thought could not ignore what was going on, and she had to accept a dirty lie of having a sexually transmitted disease to cover up an unethical act by a teacher, all to protect her favorite teacher's marriage. If none of that was enough, she also reunites with her first love from elementary school, Todd, in the midst of all the scandal.

   Estos acuerdos pronto empezaron a traerle muchos problemas a Olive.    I'm already used to seeing teen movies with hardly teenage casts, even in movies that aren't comedies, like in "The Hunger Games" (2012). But in "Easy A" I was surprised to see such an obviously adult cast, however I understand the reasons behind having adults to do things that in this day and age could not be done with underage actors, and I understand that although it is a comedy, clever in its message but comedy after all, it would not work as it does if it were set in a college, for example. It's in high school where sex is taboo, it's censored, it's cause for scandal.

   Ya estoy acostumbrada a ver películas para adolescentes con un elenco difícilmente adolescente, incluso en películas que no son comedias, como en “Los Juegos del Hambre” (2012). Pero en “Easy A” me sorprendió ver un elenco tan evidentemente adulto, sin embargo entiendo las razones detrás de tener adultos para hacer cosas que en estos tiempos no se podrían hacer con actores menores de edad, y comprendo que aunque es una comedia, inteligente en su mensaje pero comedia al fin y al cabo, no funcionaría como lo hace si estuviera ambientada en una universidad, por ejemplo. Es en la secundaria donde el sexo es tabú, es censurado, es motivo de escándalo.

   
   

   And this campaign to demonize it promotes unsafe sexual practices in many students, or in going through hard emotional crises for fear of being judged and abandoned as social outcasts, for issues that we should already normalize. And I'm not saying this based on some research, but on my experience as a student, because what Olive goes through (which is perhaps here more ridiculed for the purposes of drama) is what we have all gone through as teenagers. It is being afraid of tarnishing your reputation, of doing something wrong that changes your life at such a young age, it is fear of having so many doubts and not finding answers for fear of being humiliated.

   Y esta campaña por demonizarlo promueve prácticas sexuales inseguras en muchos estudiantes, o en atravesar duras crisis emocionales por el temor a ser juzgados y abandonados como parias sociales, por temas que ya deberíamos normalizar. Y no digo esto basándome en alguna investigación, sino en mi experiencia como estudiante, porque lo que vive Olive (que tal vez aquí está más ridiculizado para efectos del drama) es lo que hemos vivido todos cuando somos adolescentes. Es tener miedo a manchar tu reputación, a hacer algo incorrecto que cambie tu vida a tan temprana edad, es miedo a tener tantas dudas y no encontrar respuestas por miedo a ser humillado.

   From the movie I loved Olive's dynamic with her parents and her brother, it's something I haven't seen in another movie and even less in a comedy. They are funny, ironic like her and know how to listen and advise her, they don't judge her but they are not condescending either, and you can see with them how much of a difference it makes to have support and excellent communication with your family, or anyone who serves as a mentor, in a stage of life so confusing and so absurd at times. Emma Stone knows how to convey drama and comedy to perfection at will, and makes us part of her story, as if we were just another student in her high school, when she speaks to the camera and confesses her simple desire to live a romance like in those 80's movies that have defined the genre so much and are classics of the screen and of our ideals of love. I hope you are encouraged to see this movie as I certainly have, see you in the next review!

   De la película amé la dinámica de Olive con sus padres y su hermano, es algo que no he visto en otra película y menos en una comedia. Son graciosos, irónicos como ella y saben escucharla y aconsejarla, no la juzgan pero tampoco son condescendientes, y se puede ver con ellos lo mucho que hace la diferencia tener apoyo y una excelente comunicación con tu familia, o con cualquiera que sirva de mentor, en una etapa de la vida tan confusa y tan absurda a veces. Emma Stone sabe transmitir drama y comedia a la perfección a su antojo, y nos hace parte de su historia, como si fuéramos un estudiante más en su instituto, cuando habla a la cámara y nos confiesa su deseo tan simple de vivir un romance como el de esas películas ochenteras que tanto han definido el género y que son clásicos de la pantalla y de nuestros ideales del amor. Espero que se animen a ver esta película como sin dudas yo lo he hecho. ¡Nos vemos en la próxima reseña!
