   All of us who feel animals as part of the family, we love them very much and we identify with the pain of someone who loses their dog, cat, or any other, my heart particularly wrinkles when I see publications on social networks of a lost animal or I know of one that has been stolen.

   It's been a year since my cat Greta disappeared, I have the hope that being so trusting someone took her, to give her a life equal or better than the one she had with us here at home and every time I remember her at the same time a movie comes to my mind that is based on real life events.

   I think everyone knows this movie which is about a group of draft dogs that were abandoned to their fate in Antarctica, in theory they would go later for them, because they did not fit on the first flight, but they were left at the base alone, after the storm grew, so their companion the survival guide Jerry Shepard who was starred by Paul Walker, decides months later to go for them.

   Now, in the movie we see how this group of doggies managed to free themselves and survive. Now, the real facts were different, out of 15 dogs, they only managed to find two alive and the expedition on which the movie was based was Japanese.

   The question Why does this movie make me feel good? The reason is simple, although I can explain much more, it is about the importance that a group of dogs had for some people, I love animals, in fact I prefer their company to that of people and I believe that you can tell a lot about a person and society by the way they treat animals.

   Likewise, it is good to remember that animals are faithful, they do not care if we have money or not, if we give them love and even if we give them little, they stay by our side, when it is cold or hot and sometimes they have more empathy and solidarity with us than human beings we can call family or friends.

   On the other hand, I love to see how here the young protagonist Jerry Shepard, who although at first was left drowning in his helplessness, finally decides to go looking for the dogs, even knowing that he could find only corpses, because it was to honor them not to give himself with the doubt of what if he had done it?

   When we lose a pet we can not only stay crying, we must do everything possible to find him, I know of a friend, neighbor and even me, who have obtained results after diffusion and here in this film we see how they did everything possible and the young man even inspired his friends to support him and accompany him jumping over various obstacles as it should be done before any difficulty that life presents us.

   Thus, this film reminds me of a phrase that my grandmother once told me, when I was very sad after ending a relationship, I did not want to eat or do anything, it was like the world had ended for me (what an asshole I was):

   Todos los que sentimos a los animales como parte de la familia, los amamos mucho y nos identificamos con el dolor de alguien que pierde a su perro, gato, o cualquier otro, a mí particularmente se me arruga el corazón cuando veo publicaciones en redes sociales de algún animalito perdido o sé de alguno que se han robado.

    

   Hace un año que mi gata Greta desapareció, tengo la esperanza de que siendo tan confiada alguien se la llevara, para darle una vida igual o mejor de la que tenía con nosotros aquí en casa y cada vez que la recuerdo al mismo tiempo viene una película a mi mente que está basada en hechos de la vida real.

   

    

   Rescate en la Antártida

   

    

   Creo que todos conocen esta película que se trata de un grupo de perros de tiro que fueron abandonados a su suerte en la Antártida, en teoría se iría luego por ellos, pues no cabían en el primer vuelo, pero quedaron en la base solos, tras crecer la tormenta, así su compañero el guía de supervivencia Jerry Shepard que fue protagonizado por Paul Walker, decide meses después ir por ellos.

    

   Ahora bien, en la película vemos como este grupo de perritos logro en su mayoría liberarse y sobrevivir. Ahora bien, los hechos reales fueron diferentes, de 15 perros, solo lograron encontrar a dos con vida y la expedición en la que se basó la película era japonesa.

    

   La pregunta ¿Por qué esta película me hace sentir bien? La razón es sencilla, aunque puedo explicar mucho más, se trata de la importancia que tuvo para algunos un grupo de perros, amo a los animales, de hecho prefiero su compañía a la de las personas y creo que se sabe mucho de una persona y sociedad por el trato que den a los animales.

    

   Así mismo, es bueno recordar que los animales son fieles, no les importa si tenemos o no dinero, si les damos amor y aun dándoles poco, permanecen a nuestro lado, cuando hay frío o calor y a veces tienen más empatía y solidaridad con nosotros que los seres humanos a los que podemos llamar familia o amigos.

    

   Por otro lado, me encanta ver como aquí el joven protagonista Jerry Shepard, que aunque al principio se quedó ahogándose en su impotencia, decide por fin ir a buscar a los perros, aun sabiendo que podría encontrar solo cadáveres, pues se trataba de honrarlos de no que darse con la duda de ¿y si lo hubiera hecho?

    

   Cuando perdemos un animalito de compañía no solo podemos quedarnos llorando, debemos hacer lo posible por hallarle, sé de un amigo, vecino y hasta yo, que hemos obtenido resultados tras difusión y aquí en esta película vemos como hicieron todo lo posible y el joven incluso inspiro a sus amigos para que le apoyaran y acompañaran saltando diversos obstáculos como corresponde hacerlo ante cualquier dificultad que nos plantee la vida.

    

   Así, esta película, me hace recordar una frase que una vez me dijo mi abuela, cuando yo estaba muy triste tras terminar una relación sentimental, no quería comer ni hacer nada, era como el mundo se hubiera acabado para mí (que pendeja fui):

    

   -llora todo lo que quieras, pero que las lágrimas caigan en el plato y recuerda continuar adelante.

    

   En resumen, Rescate en la Antártida me hace ver a un grupo de personas que sintieron profunda empatía, amor y agradecimiento por unos animales al punto de ir por ellos sin saber que encontrarían, en pocas palabras, no te quedes con la duda de saber qué pasaría si lo hubieras intentado, como ya mencione, inténtalo así sabrás si lo logras o al menos sabes que lo intentaste, me despido dejando mi participación en Cine TV Contest #93.

   There is a wide variety of movies about pets that I really like and, choosing from that list was really difficult, so my choice was based on the first one being the type of dog that has always caught my attention and the second one because it has touched my heart and made me cry my eyes out.

   I remember watching this movie for the first time on television and although I did not get to see it completely, it captured my attention, for that reason I asked my parents to buy it on DVD, a choice that I did not regret. Eight below zero is a film directed by Frank Marshall, starring the late actor Paul Walker, released for the date of 2006, a film based on real events, being already adapted on screen in 1983 by Japanese director Monogatari.

   The film takes us to Antarctica, where a group of scientists carry out a series of expeditions to find meteorite remains, among other findings. Focusing on a group of 8 dogs and their owner Jerry Shepard and other characters, whose roles will have great relevance in the development of the story. These 8 canines: Maya, the leader and most obedient of the pack, in charge of the survival of all of them; Max, the youngest and most rebellious of the group, who matures with the passage of time; Jack the oldest; Shadow; Buck; Truman; Dewey and Shorty, are belonging to the breed of Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute and as soon as I saw them on television, my taste for these breeds developed more and more.

   These 8 dogs are the central element for the expeditions to be successful, but one day due to bad weather and among other events, all the staff has to leave the place, however, due to the limited space of the transport, Jerry has to leave his faithful friends, but without promising to come back for them and, from here, begins to develop this whole adventure of 8 dogs surviving in those frozen lands waiting for their owner, who for other reasons could not do it immediately; an adventure that will teach you the loyalty of animals and humans alike.

   I have not had the opportunity to have a dog of these breeds, however, 5 dogs have passed through my life, which have been the most loyal and best friends I could have, adding that the husky requires a lot of entertainment and patience, because of their character they are a little restless, but there is no doubt that they are very faithful and noble. It is not a film for a general audience, as for some it may seem a bit boring, since most of it is about dogs trying to survive and their owner aspires to look for them, is basically what is seen in the plot; adding that it is not faithful to the real facts.

   However, there is something else in the background of it, something that every person who has had a pet or loves animals can come to notice: the fact of wanting to survive, of understanding that his friend would come back for it, conveys that faithfulness of the dog to the man and Jerry's thoughts and actions demonstrate the responsibility we have as an owner towards our pets.

   The story begins with a mongrel puppy who is sacrificed, it seems to me, unfairly; then reincarnated into a cute and adorable Golden Retriever, life where he meets the young boy named Ethan, with whom he creates a strong bond of friendship and affection. Bailey lives many years, a part of it with his favorite human and the other not, but as everything in this life, things come to an end, for Bailey too, being one of the moments, in my opinion, the most heartbreaking of the film, that farewell of Ethan with his beloved friend is one of the scenes that made me cry the most.

In Bailey's last reincarnation, seen in this film, he manages to meet Ethan; a reunion that touched my soul.

   It is a film narrated in first person, where it addresses the subject of why we come to this world and reincarnation, but from the vision and thoughts of a dog; issues that at some point we all come to question. It made me feel that the love and affection we have for our pet is mutual and will not disappear, even if a thousand lives go by.

   In this sense, I want to believe that I will be reunited with my little ones, because this year I lost two of them and if I were given the opportunity to have them all together again, I would not hesitate. In fact, one of the ones I lost this year was a Golden Retriever, just like the one in the movie, so it hurts more and the reason why I write about it.

If there was a movie of my dogs it would be one where the love of 4 legs changes you and saves you, because without them my world would become dark since they are the light that illuminate my path.

   Existe una gran variedad de películas sobre mascotas que de verdad me gustan y, elegir entre esa lista realmente me fue difícil, así que mi elección se basó en que la primera seria por el tipo de perro que siempre me ha llamado la atención y la segunda por que ha tocado mi corazón y me ha hecho llorar a mares.

   Recuerdo que, con esta película la llegue a mirar por primera vez en la televisión y aunque, no llegue a verla por completa, capto mi atención, por tal motivo le pedí a mis padres que la compraran en DVD, elección de la cual no me arrepentí. Ocho bajo cero es una cinta dirigida por Frank Marshall, protagonizada por el difunto actor Paul Walker, estrenada para la fecha del 2006, película basada en hechos reales, siendo ya adaptada en pantalla en 1983 por el director japones Monogatari.

   La película nos adentra a la Antártida, donde un grupo de científico realizan una serie de expediciones para encontrar restos de meteoritos, entre otros hallazgos. Centrándonos en un grupo de 8 perros y su dueño Jerry Shepard además de otros personajes, cuyos papeles tendrá gran relevancia dentro del desarrollo de la historia. Estos 8 caninos: Maya, la líder y más obediente de la manada, encargada de la supervivencia de todos ellos; Max, el más joven y rebelde del grupo, quien madura con el paso de tiempo; Jack el más viejo; sombra; Buck; Truman; Dewey y Shorty, son pertenecientes a la raza de Husky Siberiano y Malamute de Alaska y en cuanto los vi en la televisión, mi gusto por estas razas se desarrolló cada vez más.

   Estos 8 perros son el elemento central para que las expediciones sean exitosas, pero un día por el mal tiempo y entre otros sucesos, todo el personal tiene que deshabitar el lugar, no obstante, por el poco espacio del transporte, Jerry tiene que dejar a sus fieles amigos, pero sin antes prometerles que volvería por ellos y, a partir de que aquí, empieza a desarrollarse toda esta aventura de 8 perros sobreviviendo en esas tierras heladas en la espera de su dueño, quien por motivos ajenos no pudo hacerlo de inmediato; una aventura que te enseñara la lealtad de parte de los animales y de los humanos.

   No he tenido la oportunidad de tener un perro de esas razas, sin embargo, por mi vida han pasado 5 perros, los cuales han sido los más leales y mejores amigos que he podido tener, añadiendo que el husky requiere de bastante entretenimiento y paciencia, pues por su carácter son un poco inquietos, pero no cabe duda de que son muy fieles y nobles. No es una película para un público general, pues para algunos puede parecerle un tanto aburrida, ya que la mayor parte se trata de unos perros que intentan sobrevivir y su dueño aspira buscarlos, es básicamente lo que se ve en la trama; agregando que no es fiel a los hechos reales.

   Sin embargo, hay algo más en el trasfondo de la misma, algo que toda persona que ha tenido una mascota o ama a los animales puede llegar a notar: el hecho de querer sobrevivir, de entender que su amigo volvería por ello, transmite esa fidelidad del perro con el hombre y los pensamientos y acciones de Jerry demuestran la responsabilidad que tenemos como dueño hacia nuestras mascotas.

   En lo particular, pienso que debió ser una producción difícil, pues no se apoyaron en la animación digital para la recreación de los perros, dando un gran protagónico a los mismos, tanto delante como detrás de pantalla, para lograr traernos una historia que nos enseña que la familia no se abandona, sea humano o de 4 patas.

   La historia inicia con un cachorro mestizo quien es sacrificado, al mi parecer, de forma injusta; para luego reencarnar en un lindo y adorable Golden Retriever, vida donde conoce al joven niño llamado Ethan, con quien crea un fuerte lazo de amistad y cariño. Bailey vive muchos años, una parte de esa ella con su humano favorito y la otra no, pero como todo en esta vida, las cosas llegan a su fin, para Bailey también, siendo uno de los momentos, al mi parecer, más desgarradores de la película, esa despedida de Ethan con su amado amigo es una de las escenas que más me ha hecho llorar.

   Pero, no todo queda ahí, nuestro querido canino logra reencarnar varias veces, en diferentes aspectos y situaciones, y en cada una de ellas va experimentando diversas clases de aventuras y aprendizajes, donde la amistad y felicidad lo ayudara a entender su propósito en la vida. En la última reencarnación de Bailey, vista en esta película, logra encontrarse con Ethan; reencuentro que me tocó el alma.

   Es una película narrada en primera persona, donde aborda el tema sobre el porqué venimos a este mundo y la reencarnación, pero desde la visión y pensamientos de un perro; temas que algún punto todos nos llegamos a cuestionar. Me hizo sentir que el amor y cariño que guardamos con nuestra mascota es mutua y que no desaparecerá, así pasen mil vidas.

   En este sentido, quiero creer que me reencontrare con mis pequeños, pues en este año perdí a dos de ellos y se me dieran la oportunidad de volverlos a tener a todos juntos, no lo dudaría. De hecho, uno de los que perdí este año fue un Golden Retriever, como el de la película, por lo que duele más y la razón del por qué escribo de la misma.

   En general, no hay propósito como tal en la vida, se aprende y se crece a lo largo de la misma, se ama sin condiciones y se es fiel a las convicciones, viviendo al límite; pensamientos que Bailey nos los proyecta claramente. Una vida sin amar, sin conectarte y sin compartir, no es una vida, por eso las mascotas duran poco tiempo, porque ellos ya nacen sabiendo eso. Bailey es un personaje que te demuestra que, a pesar de sus cuestiones, preguntándose él porque estaba ahí, lo respondía con sus actos.

   Dos películas enmarcadas en la lealtad, amistad y amor, el ser feliz y leal a ti mismo hasta el final, representado en el verdadero amigo del hombre, donde se debe considerar a los animales como seres sensibles, digno de derechos y respeto. Si hubiese una película de mis perros sería una donde el amor de 4 patas te cambia y te salva, porque sin ellos mi mundo se tornaría oscuro ya que son la luz que iluminan mi camino.
