Hola hive, hace muchísimo tiempo quería ver esta película/Musical pero no había tenido el tiempo y sabía que era algo del que requería 100% de mi atención, por eso espere el momento justo para verla, y ahora con la facilidad de Disney+ fue cuestión de proponerme a ver una de las obras más experimentales de Walt Disney, por eso hoy les vengo a hablar de Fantasia

Fantasia es una película/musical animado lanzado por Disney en el 1940, considerada como una obra clásica de la animación (con todo el sentido del mundo), es un musical en el cual se interpretan 8 piezas de música clásica acompañada de 7 fragmentos visuales (mini historias) con pequeñas intervenciones del director (Leopold Stokowski) que nos pone en contexto sobre lo que vamos a ver.

Primero quiero hablar sobre la animación porque fue algo que me sorprendió bastante, pensar que es una película de 1940 y que tiene ese nivel de animación me dejo impactado, muy atractiva al ojo y en mi opinión personal me parece que esta película en cuanto a la animación a envejecido excelentemente bien, la verdad es que no conozco muchas películas animadas de 1940, pero por ejemplo si se nota una evolución de la animación desde Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) hasta Fantasia, a mi parecer si existe un avance.

Definitivamente me voló la cabeza la animación más allá de lo bien lograda que esta, me pongo a pensar que es una película de hace un poco más de 80 años y quedó sorprendido, tanto así, que me dio curiosidad por saber cómo funcionaba la animación en esos años, me parece que sería un tema bastante interesante que tendré en cuenta

Ahora no podemos olvidar que después de todo Fantasia es musical, por lo que uno de sus factores principales obviamente es la música, las piezas musicales están ejecutadas por la orquesta de Filadelfia y también es impresionante. Cabe destacar que desde pequeño me ha gustado la música y pertenecí a orquestas por muchos años entonces es algo que me apasiona bastante, por lo menos 4 de las piezas interpretadas las conocía y las que no las disfrutaba mucho igual.

Tal vez para alguien que no esté acostumbrado a consumir música clásica siento que se le puede hacer un musical pesado, pero para cualquier persona que la llame la atención todo este mundo tenlo por seguro que te va a encantar.

Después de hablar sobre la animación y la música de manera independiente me gustaría hacer énfasis en lo realmente atractivo de esta obra y es la manera hacer que tanto la animación y la música se complementen sin solapar ninguna, es aquí donde empezamos a ver lo impresionante y lo complejo de fantasía.

El concepto principal de esta película se nos deja claro en los primeros minutos, son obras de música clásicas acompañadas con elementos visuales, en la mayoría de los casos la música influyó para la creación de las imágenes (exceptuando “el aprendiz de brujo” que si fue pensada primero la historia y después la música).

Por eso es que a veces se nos muestra imágenes o colores “random” pero que todo fluye al ritmo de la música y nos van contando historias, a mi en lo personal los acompañamientos visuales rodeados de colores y movimientos al ritmo de la música me hacían como un efecto hipnótico y súper enganchante. De verdad que en los primeros minutos cuando explican el concepto de este musical automáticamente pensé “esto va a estar bueno” y efectivamente.

Si tuviese que hablar de mis pastes favoritos serían:

Cuando la orquesta ejecuta la suite El cascanueces, primero porque creo que es una de las obras más populares que suena en el musical y aparte las imagines me parecieron las más hipnotizantes y todo esto alejándose de lo que estamos acostumbrados de ver cuando suena el cascanueces.
“El aprendiz de brujo” creo que es la más icónica del musical y con todo el sentido del mundo, tiene la trama más interesante y la música la complementa de una manera increíble.
Hay un momento en donde hacen un soundcheck y van mostrando como una animación de las frecuencias que emite el instrumento, de mis partes favoritas sin duda alguna.

En conclusión estoy totalmente de acuerdo de considerar fantasía como una obra maestra, obviamente el cine y la música siempre suelen ir de la mano, pero esta película lo llevó a otro nivel, definitivamente fue una idea muy increíble pero a la vez bastante experimental y tiene el reconocimiento que se merece, no considero que sea un musical para ver todo los días, porque si tienes sus partes un poco pesadas, pero en general me impresionó bastante y considero que todos deberíamos verla así sea una vez en la vida, aparte de que llama mucho la atención en el contexto en el que se hizo esta película y nos deja uno que otro daticos interesante. Si te gusta la música clásica y la animación, fantasía es perfecta para ti.

After talking about the animation and music independently I would like to emphasize what is really attractive about this work and that is the way to make both animation and music complement each other without overlapping either, this is where we start to see the impressive and complex fantasy.

The main concept of this film is made clear to us in the first minutes, they are works of classical music accompanied by visual elements, in most cases the music influenced the creation of the images (except for "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" which was thought first the story and then the music).

The Sorcerer's Apprentice" I think is the most iconic of the musical and with all the sense in the world, it has the most interesting plot and the music complements it in an incredible way.
There is a moment where they do a soundcheck and they show an animation of the frequencies emitted by the instrument, one of my favorite parts without a doubt.

In conclusion I totally agree to consider fantasy as a masterpiece, obviously cinema and music always go hand in hand, but this film took it to another level, it was definitely a very incredible idea but at the same time quite experimental and has the recognition it deserves, I do not consider it a musical to see every day, because if you have its parts a little heavy, but overall I was quite impressed and I think everyone should see it even once in life, besides that it draws much attention in the context in which this film was made and leaves us one or another interesting facts. If you like classical music and animation, fantasy is perfect for you.

Cuando pensamos actualmente en el nombre "Disney", seguramente lo primero que pensamos es en esa empresa gigante que produce montones de películas taquilleras cada año. Sin embargo, en un inicio, todo empieza por una persona, Walt Disney, quien a través de sus primeras producciones lograría crear lo que es Disney y darle el prestigio que ha tenido desde hace casi un siglo.

Entre estas diferentes secuencias en los que se divide la película, hay dos que considero los más resaltables de la misma, siendo éstos "El aprendiz de brujo" y "Una noche en el monte calvo / Ave María".

El primero de ellos es, de hecho, uno de los mayores clásicos en la historia de Disney, referenciado una infinidad de veces a lo largo de los años. De decidir ver esta película, recomiendo hacerlo con calma y paciencia, pues es una cinta larga pero que vale la pena ver.
