It is well known that I like basketball, and in previous episodes I offered my opinion on Slam Dunk. But now, continuing my search for this genre, I came across the anime Fighting Spirit or Hajime no Ippo. Here we navigate the world of boxing, a very exciting but also very dangerous sport, and although I love watching fights, I would never practice it myself, ha ha ha; no way am I going to put my head out there to get beaten up.
But anyway, my intention is to share my perspective on this series, because I was really struck by the sense of perseverance and struggle to achieve one's goals in life. In particular, Fighting Spirit fills me with a lot of emotion, because here we don't see characters with superpowers, we don't see mysteries, we don't see serial killers; but what we do see is a person who fights for their ideals, a person who lives the sad reality of life without having anything; But the series also shows that with hard work, all goals can be achieved, just like Ippo, who lives day and night in the gym with the sole purpose of advancing in life.

In this sense, as we delve deeper into the series, we perceive our protagonist, Ippo Makunouchi, as a decadent young man, like a shadow that does not exist for anyone; in short, he is a total loser. But all that abuse and precarious life he leads can gradually change when Ippo finally finds his calling; he learns that with motivation, discipline, and by drawing on his inner strength, he can defeat even the strongest opponent. However, this is not achieved alone, nor by chance. For this, he has his coach, Genji Kamogawa, who is not only his mentor but also the cornerstone of Ippo's transformation. His teachings, despite being profound and, in my opinion, too strict, are also full of an incredible sense of honor. Simply put, the relationship between them is an essential factor in the plot.
On the other hand, one of the elements of the plot that really caught my attention is what happens in the fights, which are not mere meaningless combats. On the contrary, for those who are unfamiliar with this sport, here they can learn about the basic techniques of boxing, as well as the movements that trigger the different punches thrown by the fighters. But it's not just fights and punches we see in this series; we can also internalize the true value of strength. For Ippo, this is nothing more than the power to help others, because within all the strength and fury of the protagonist, there is also a powerful spirit of kindness. Ippo knows this because he comes from a humble background. In addition, there is often a respect among his rivals that elevates Ippo's humanity even more. This happens when he faces Miyata Ichiro, his strongest rival.
The fights are really exciting; they are masterful combats, and it is here that we see various opponents; opponents who, in my opinion, are not the bad guys, as we popularly call them, but rather each of them has their own distinct personality, because in reality they are like Ippo; each of them has their own problems and motivations for fighting and moving forward in life. Without a doubt, the animation effects are fantastic, especially when we are enjoying a fight; we can see that the slow-motion punches are splendid, the fights are masterful, and the feeling of fury and pain on the part of the opponents really makes us part of the plot, an anime worth watching episode after episode.
In short, Hajime no Ippo is a call to internalize that in order to achieve your goals, you must work very hard and be very humble, because there are no shortcuts to reaching your goals, and the goal that the protagonist sets for himself is the championship belt. This makes us think that nothing has value if it is not achieved through effort, teaching us that anyone can change their life no matter where they come from. For me, this series shows us that no matter how many times you fall, the important thing is to get up stronger, and this is where all those thoughts of Rocky Balboa come to mind, words that truly move you and make you a better person. Particularmente; Espíritu de Lucha me llena de mucha emoción, porque aquí no vemos personajes con súper poderes, no vemos misterios, no vemos asesinos en serie; pero lo que sí vemos, es a una persona que lucha por sus ideales, una persona que vive la triste realidad de la vida al no tener nada; pero también la serie demuestra que con trabajo duro se logran todas las metas, así como lo hace Ippo que vive día y noche en el gimnasio, con el único propósito de avanzar en la vida.

En tal sentido; cuando vamos adentrándonos en la serie, percibimos a nuestro protagonista Ippo Makunouchi, como un joven decadente, es como una sombra que no existe para nadie; en pocas palabras es un total perdedor. Pero todo ese maltrato y vida precaria que lleva, poco a poco puede cambiar cuando Ippo por fin encuentra su vocación; él aprende que con motivación, disciplina y evocando su fuerza interior, puede derrotar al oponente más fuerte. Sin embargo; esto no se logra solo, ni por azar, para ello tiene a su entrenador Genji Kamogawa; quien no solo es su mentor, sino que es el pilar fundamental en la transformación de Ippo. Sus enseñanzas; a pesar de ser profundas y desde mi punto de vista demasiado estrictas; también es cierto, que están llenas de un sentimiento de honor increíble; sencillamente, la relación que existe entre ellos es un factor imprescindible dentro de la trama.
Por otra parte; uno de los elementos que tiene la trama y que me ha llamado mucho la atención, es lo que se vive en las peleas y éstas no son meros combates sin sentido; al contrario, para quien no sabe de este deporte, aquí podrán conocer sobre las técnicas básicas del boxeo, así como los movimientos que desencadenan en los diferentes golpes que emiten los peleadores. Pero también, no solo combates y golpes vemos en esta serie; sino que podemos internalizar el verdadero valor de la fuerza; y para Ippo, este no es más que el poder ayudar a los demás; porque dentro de toda esa fortaleza y furia que tiene el protagonista, también se esconde un poderoso espíritu de amabilidad; Ippo lo sabe, porque el viene de abajo. Además; muchas veces con sus rivales existe ese respeto que eleva mucho más la humanidad de Ippo; esto ocurre cuando enfrenta a Miyata Ichiro, su rival más fuerte.

Sin duda alguna; los efectos de animación son fantásticos, especialmente cuando estamos disfrutando de una pelea; podemos ver que los golpes en cámara lenta son espléndidos, las luchas son magistrales y el sentimiento de furia y dolor por parte de los contrincantes, realmente nos hacen formar parte de la trama, un anime digno de ver capitulo tras capítulo.
En definitiva; Hajime no Ippo es un llamado a internalizar que para lograr los objetivos se debe trabajar muy duro y ser muy humildes; porque para alcanzar las metas, no existen caminos cortos y esa meta que se exige el protagonista es el cinturón de campeón. Esto nos hace pensar que nada tiene valor, si no es logrado con esfuerzo; una enseñanza de que toda persona puede cambiar su vida sin importar de donde venga. Para mí; esta serie nos demuestra que no importa las veces que uno cae, lo importante es levantarse con más fuerza y es aquí donde vienen a mi mente, todos esos pensamientos de Rocky Balboa; palabras que de verdad emocionan y te vuelven mejor persona.
