Anime Review ~ Flavors of Youth- A Story of Memories and Life@psyberkid488d
Flavors of Youth is an anime film released in 2018 that consists of three stories. A joint production between China and Japan, the film is produced by Comics Wave Films who have produced masterpieces such as Your Name and Weathering with You.
This anime captures the small moments of our lives, the feelings and memories of lost times. Hidden deep within the story of the movie are emotions, pain and the illusion of memory. In today's blog, I will do a brief analysis of the Flavors of Youth anime story.
First Story:- The Rice Noodles
Where we see the story of a young man named Xiao Ming. As a child, he used to go to eat the famous Sun Xian Noodles with his grandmother. She remembers the taste of those hot noodles, which were once an essential part of her life. But over time, her life changes and so does the taste of her favorite noodles.
Second Story: - A Little Fashion Show
Centered on a successful fashion model Yi Lin. Although she has reached the peak of her career, she gradually realizes how difficult it is to survive in the world of glamour. She gradually loses herself in the pressure of her career and the competition of young models. Her younger sister Lulu always supports her, but Yi Lin realizes that she has drifted too far from her sister's company.
Third Story: - Love in Shanghai
The third and final story is Love in Shanghai, which is a story of deep love. Li Mo and her childhood friend Xiao Yu grew up together, but due to fate, they were separated. They could not express their feelings for each other, but they communicated through cassette tapes recorded between themselves.
First Story:-
This story teaches us that some childhood moments may not come back but we can experience them through memories. The small things in our lives actually become big moments.
Second Story:-
This story highlights the importance of maintaining balance in our lives. While chasing after career, fame and money, we should not forget the people close to us.
Third Story:-
It is understood that the most precious thing in life is the people close to us. Once time passes, the old times cannot be found again.
This story portrays a powerful image of love and regret. Due to time, we sometimes lose the people we love but the memories remain forever.
Animation
The visuals and animations of this are very beautiful. Especially the food scenes are so vivid that they seem like real food. The cultural heritage of China is beautifully presented which makes the anime even more beautiful.
Music
The background music of the movie is very emotional and nostalgic. Especially the background music of the story "Love in Shanghai" touches the heart. Songs and music have played a tremendous role in expressing the emotions of each story more deeply.
Story
All three stories of the movie are based on real life experiences and nostalgia. Although the stories are different from each other, there is a common connection like time, memories and lost moments.
Creates memories of the innocent moments of our childhood. Shows us how we lose our inner happiness while chasing fame. Reminds us that sometimes we have to express our feelings to the important people in our lives because time waits for no one.
This movie is not an anime it is a reflection of a part of our lives. It reminds us that time passes but memories remain and we can keep our past alive through love. That's it for today. Hope you like it.

Hola queridos amigos de @theAnimerealm un placer de nuevo por acá y con la emoción de contarles esta película que me parecio no solo hermosa por la animación si no por las tres historias que cuenta, si se basa en la historia de 3 personas diferentes pero que al mismo tiempo comparten algo muy especial que es el sentimiento llamado Amor, pero visto de tres maneras diferentes, se trata de Shiki Oriori; Sabores de la Juventud.

Primero comenzare hablando de la historia de Xiao Ming, en Fideos de Arroz, es un joven que camino a comer algo en un día lluvioso comienza a recordar la época de su niñez en la cual la mayor parte la paso con su abuela, quien siempre para comer le trae los llamados fideos San Xian, eran fideos de arroz donde sus ingredientes se adaptaban dependiendo de la temporada que si primavera, invierno y así, lo cual era muy sabroso para él, y significaba mucho no solo por la conexión que tenía con su abuela, el sentía que a partir de ellos conoció su primer amor aunque este fuese por corto tiempo, también el avance de las personas que se dedicaban a elaborar este platillo y como hoy en día se ha vuelto tan superficial y caro que los ingredientes ya no son los mismos, sin embargo, el significado que represento este platillo en su infancia y el amor hacia su abuela le hizo volver a crear que la vida puede tener un mejor sabor.
Ahora bien, la historia de Un pequeño desfile de moda, en el cual Yi Lin, una chica dedicada a las pasarelas, fotos y todo lo que viene del modelaje, se enfoca en cuidar a su hermanita, luego de perder a sus padres, pero a medida que avanza su carrera, va perdiendo interés no solo en el trabajo, en la emoción que representa el hacer una campaña, el mostrar los sentimientos, sino que también le afecta en su vida personal, ya que se siente vacía y que lo único que debe preocuparse es por su físico. A pesar de ello, su hermana a quien le gusta la costura, confeccionar y sentirse que puede apoyarla, la motiva a continuar con su trabajo y no dejar sus sueños atrás, entendiendo que la vida tiene altos y bajos, pero no por eso hay que rendirse, vendrán otras más jóvenes a querer suplirla, pero a pesar de ello siempre habrá algo en lo cual podrá destacar. Dándose cuenta de que el amor de su hermana es lo que importa, lo que la motiva y le dará la fuerza para enfrentar lo que venga.
Finalmente, la historia de Li Mo en Amor en Shangai, es un joven que tras vivir en los suburbios y estudiar mucho para destacar y tener un futuro brillante siente que le falta algo que no completo en su infancia, tras años de tener guardado un viaje casette de su amiga Xiao Lu, recuerda como ella y su amigo Pan tuvieron una niñez agradable, jugaban, estudiaban, se mandaban y escuchaban casette, eran momentos felices hasta que tienen que ir a la secundaria, al principio parecía que Xiao Lu era la que se iría lejos pero Li Mo se esfuerza tanto por irse con ella, que lo logra, sin darse cuenta que a la final solo quería estar a su lado porque la ama, un amor de infancia, puro y que deberá esperar mucho tiempo hasta ver si el destino los vuelve a unir.
Son historias diferentes, conmovedoras pero que a la final refleja lo que siempre uno quiere tener el Amor, hacia la familia, amigos, pareja, cada uno representa ese sentimiento especial e inolvidable que pase los años que pasen se mantiene con uno fielmente.

First I will start talking about the story of Xiao Ming, in Rice Noodles, is a young man who on his way to eat something on a rainy day begins to remember the time of his childhood in which most of it was spent with his grandmother, who always brings him to eat the so-called San Xian noodles, were rice noodles where their ingredients were adapted depending on the season that if spring, winter and so on, which was very tasty for him, and it meant a lot not only because of the connection he had with his grandmother, he felt that from them he knew his first love even if it was for a short time, also the progress of the people who were dedicated to develop this dish and how today has become so superficial and expensive that the ingredients are no longer the same, however, the meaning that represented this dish in his childhood and love for his grandmother made him recreate that life can have a better taste.
Now, the story of A little fashion show, in which Yi Lin, a girl dedicated to the catwalks, photos and everything that comes from modeling, focuses on taking care of her little sister, after losing her parents, but as her career progresses, she is losing interest not only in the work, in the excitement of doing a campaign, showing her feelings, but also affects her personal life, as she feels empty and that the only thing she should worry about is her physique. In spite of this, her sister, who likes sewing, making clothes and feeling that she can support her, motivates her to continue with her work and not leave her dreams behind, understanding that life has ups and downs, but not for that reason it is necessary to give up, others will come younger to want to replace her, but in spite of it there will always be something in which she will be able to stand out. Realizing that her sister's love is what matters, what motivates her and will give her the strength to face whatever comes.
Finally, the story of Li Mo in Love in Shanghai, is a young man who after living in the suburbs and studying hard to stand out and have a bright future feels that he is missing something that he did not complete in his childhood, after years of having saved a cassette trip of his friend Xiao Lu, he remembers how she and his friend Pan had a pleasant childhood, they played, studied, sent and listened to cassettes, they were happy times until they had to go to high school, At first it seemed that Xiao Lu was the one who would go far away but Li Mo tries so hard to go with her that she succeeds, without realizing that in the end she only wanted to be by her side because she loves her, a childhood love, pure and that she will have to wait a long time to see if fate will unite them again.
They are different stories, touching but that in the end reflect what one always wants to have Love, towards family, friends, partner, each one represents that special and unforgettable feeling that over the years remains with you faithfully.

I was quite surprised because the characters are all Chinese and the stories also reflected Chinese culture and relationship. There are three different stories in the film and each tells a unique story of one's childhood and how being an adult changed their lives.
The first story is called ***SUNNY BREAKFAST.***
It focused on Xiaomin who lived in the countryside with his grandmother in his childhood. As an adult living in the big city, he reminisces the taste of the noodles he shared with his grandma during those times. He reminisced the noodle shops which played a big role in his life and how spending time in these places kept him going. It's interesting how the story of his life can be associated with the noodles he had eaten from his childhood days.
I could relate somehow to it because every summer vacation during my childhood days, I used to visit my grandparents house. I get to spend time with my cousins and I remember how our grandma would cook a lot of noodles and some sausages for all of us. It was quite nostalgic. In the film, the main character was also quite attached to his grandma and it's just lovely because I was also pretty close to my grandparents. <3
The second story is entitled, ***A LITTLE FASHION SHOW***.
The story is about two sisters who are very close to each other ever since they were young. They used to borrow each other's clothes until their height and body type differed they could no longer do it. It was a cute story focusing on the importance of family and how supporting each other comes naturally.
Sometimes we think that we are doing our best to support someone without even noticing that in fact we are the ones who are actually being supported by them in many ways. I don't have a biological sister, but I can imagine how it's like to have one because of my bestie/sister from another mother.
The final story called ***SHANGHAI LOVE*** wasn't just about romantic love.
The story focused on three childhood friends who eventually ended up in different paths. There was a booming love story between the two characters which is quite refreshing, but also frustrating in some way. As Limo was trying to unpack the boxes in his new apartment, he stumbled upon a cassette tape which brought him answers to some unanswered questions in the past.
They lived their childhood in the 90s which is the same as me, so they did things I could really relate to. The cassette tape and player were pretty nostalgic, much more recording messages to each other. Well, I didn't experience that much but I and my friends used to exchange letters or notes to each other. :)
Among the three stories, the first one *Sunny Breakfast* was my favorite. I don't know why but there is just a certain attachment that I could feel when watching the story. As time passed by, there are things that we can no longer change or undo. Despite this, there are also things that remains the same and would envelop us with nostalgia.
*Shanghai Love* was also cute. It somehow reminds me of 5 Centimeters per Second. The love story was nice, but what I like about it was how it reflected family relationships. It's interesting for me because it's quite relatable being born in an Asian family.
All in all, I enjoyed these short films put together in one fascinating film called ***FLAVORS OF YOUTH***. We might have different childhood experiences. Some may be good and some may be bad, but these experiences molded us to what we are now. So it doesn't hurt to look back and reminisce those times in our life. <3

Shiki Oriori: Flavors of Youth is an anime that tells three stories, with an elegant drama and also with a melancholy and sadness that invaded my heart when I saw it.
The first story tells us the past of a boy, important parts of his life, but the special thing is that the whole story revolves around a plate of noodles, if you hear it, a plate of noodles. They wanted to show us that the simplicity of things is something beautiful that we do not always value but this boy relived those special and at the same time everyday moments with great joy. The whole story is narrated by an off voice as if someone were telling us a story.
Saludos chicos y chicas de Hive. En esta ocasión vuelvo a traerles otro anime que me pareció una belleza y que por lo que averigüe es el primer anime hecho para y exclusivamente de Netflix.
Shiki Oriori: Sabores de la juventud es un anime que cuenta tres historias, con un drama elegante y también con una melancolía y tristeza que invadieron mi corazón al verlo.
La primera historia nos cuenta el pasado de un chico, partes importantes de su vida pero lo especial es que toda la historia gira entorno a un plato de fideos, si como lo escuchas un plato de fideos. Quisieron mostrarnos que la simplicidad de las cosas es algo hermoso que no siempre valoramos pero este chico revivía esos momentos tan especiales y a la vez cotidianos con mucha alegría. Toda la historia es narrada por una voz off como si alguien nos estuviese contando un cuento.

La segunda se trata de una modelo que vive con su hermana y está a punto de retirarse por sentirse vieja sin darse cuenta de lo mucho que aún puede ofrecerle al mundo. Ella y su hermana tienen una relación especial porque perdieron a sus padres desde temprana edad y en esta historia ambas aprenderán la una de la otra.
Y la tercera y más hermosa de todas las historias nos ofrece una trama menos simple que las anteriores y llena de mucha emotividad. Se trata de tres típicos estudiantes que se la pasan juntos, como mejores amigos. Dos de ellos empiezan a enamorarse pero como típicos japoneses no lo demuestran. La chica en cuestión es forzada a estudiar en otra escuela para tener un mejor futuro lejos de la ciudad donde viven estos chicos y su enamorado se frustra y empieza a estudiar obsesivamente para conseguir estar en la misma escuela que ella sin darse cuenta de las posibles consecuencias de abandonar lo que más importa.
Three stories that show us how to overcome obstacles but also full of sadness in some scenes. I must say that the animation is beautiful but perhaps it is because the stories are so touching that I don't see anything wrong with it. I would have liked the movie to last longer but I still don't have many complaints. I love these stories that fill us with emotions and have something behind them, such as overcoming, love and effort and also with happy endings.
I hope that more movies like this continue to come out like this typical of Netflix because that way people will realize that anime is not just comic books for kids but that it can show us mature things and beautiful dramas like this movie.
Tres historias que nos muestran cómo superar obstáculos pero también llenas de tristeza en algunas escenas. Debo decir que la animación es hermosa pero quizás es porque las historias son tan enternecedoras que no le veo nada de malo. Me hubiese gustado que durara más la película pero aun así no tengo muchas quejas. Me encantan estas historias que nos llenan de emociones y tienen algo de fondo, como la superación, el amor y el esfuerzo y aparte con finales felices.
Espero que más películas así sigan saliendo así propias de Netflix porque así la gente se dará cuenta que el anime no es solo comiquitas para chiquillos sino que pueden mostrarnos cosas maduras y hermosos dramas como esta película.

Claro si lo que estás buscando es acción y batallas no te recomiendo para nada este anime. Esto es algo más de emociones, más de situaciones de nuestra juventud que creíamos perdidas y que recordamos con alegría, por eso el título de la película. Es una película apta para todo público en especial adolescentes y adultos.
Todas estos relatos parecen salidos de un diario porque son situaciones cotidianas, pasa lo que vivimos día a día, simples cosas que dejamos pasar por alto por estar acostumbrados. No hay algo que sea explosivo en esta película, todo es sutil y gracias eso la convierte en una película muy hermosa, por su simpleza y belleza en los tres cortometrajes.
Espero que les haya gustado mi opinión acerca de este anime que vi por casualidad cuando estaba revisando que reseñar el día de hoy pero no me arrepiento para nada y espero que a ustedes les haya agradado si ya la vieron.
