THis weeks contest is about Autumn. I had to do a little thinking about this one and then remembered Fantatsic Mr Fox which is set into Autumn and is a masterpiece of modern film making. I think Wes anderson is a bit like marmite, you either love him or hat him, well we love him!

► About
It is from the classic source material by Roald Dahl who is a very famour English/norwegian writer. It is basically foxes vs farmers and the story of the foxes trying to survive. What entails is a fantastic story....

► What you loved about it
The animation style really shines through on this film with its quirky uniqueness. However it is the voice over and how they match the animations that always really got me. It is the way the world and characters are created that draw you into the world of the Foxes, it can be seen clearly here when they are moving into thir new tree!

► What part of it did you find most interesting.
The introduction of the farmers is a masterful introduction to the Farmers, it really tell you who they are and what the Fox is up against. All the way through the characters are brilliantly portrayed and animated.

► Any scene that still pops into your mind.
Mr Fox is like a cunning Fox with a degree in cunning on a particulary cunning day. The scenes where he comes up with his plans are fabulous and it is like the best of crime films.

► Performance of the actors/actress that left an impression.
Now come on Wes Anderson can pull in the stars. One of the things that makes this film is the voiceovers. george Clooney is amazing in the lead but everyone else is so brillinatly cast it makes the whole movie. I mean Bill Murray, William Defoe, Adrien Brody, Meryl Streep....even got Jarvis Cocker in from Pulp! Look at the cast list:

► Why do you think it's significant and great.
Now this is from an author that defined a generation and many of the film adaptions of his work miss the mark. However this one doesn't and it is a film that spans generations. It captures the realy spirit of the book and puts it into a world that is funny, enchanted and crafted with skill and precision. Ultimately this is a film for everyone and remember don't try and catch foxes...
