  1. Ginny and Georgia S3: Hit or Miss?@omokhafue324d

If I was asked a yay or nay question concerning this latest season of Ginny and Georgia, I would choose yay. It’s probably the best season in the whole show as of right now. I remember when I saw the first season in 2022, it was a pain to go through. It just gave that vibe, a teen movie—filled with unnecessary drama, teenage love and and relationships. Horrible horrible relationships.

IMG_0109.jpeg Source For those who haven’t seen the movie, I would give a brief introduction of who Ginny and Georgia are and what the show is all about. Ginny also known as Virginia is the daughter of Georgia. The movie revolves around those two and how they go through the world and things against them. Georgia known for her questionable decisions has always been a protector to both her daughter and son, Ginny and Austin. She’s a great mum, who has done very very questionable things. Welp, that’s all for the summary. We’re talking about season 3 here, remember? I just saw this season and I am excited to talk about it.

Season 3 begins with Georgia being in jail, following her arrest at her wedding in the last episode of the previous season. Her husband and the mayor of the town, Paul tried everything in his power to help her out in this situation. But as we go further down the season, we notice Paul start to retreat once he finds more things about her. Georgia killed her last two husbands, she killed the husband of cynthia, he’s worried if he’s next. This season takes us down a very emotional rollercoaster. We delve more into the life of Ginny and also Marcus, her ex boyfriend. Marcus is depressed, the series helps us see how serious it is to be depressed, how saddening and how it affects one’s soul, attention to things around, their emotional and physical functioning. I absolutely loved it. Felix Mallard who acted Marcus Baker portrayed his character so well. The self loathe, the constant lost in thoughts and the gradual fade away of one’s self. He was brilliant for the role and he took it on wonderfully.

IMG_0110.jpeg Source And then, we have Ginny. I was glad to see they introduced another love interest, Wolfe. I never really liked the guy though, he was giving Ben Gross’s vibe. The Ben Gross in the Never Have I Ever series. A nerdy jerky fool. That was exactly what he gave. He didn’t look like someone who was in for a serious relationship with Ginny so that’s why when he came back to Ginny after ditching her cause she told him she got knocked out by him—I was furious. But that aside , he was the soft part of the whole show. No problem, just a chill guy who wanted to just…chill.

The drama of this season, I did not like at all. It had too much going on. From Georgia pretending to be pregnant for Paul to Ginny getting Pregnant to Georgia and Joe hooking up. And many many incredulous things. Oh and let’s not forget the part where Austin’s dad got framed? Oh, I can’t wait to see how that plays out. Actually, no—I don’t want to see anything. Instead I'm scared of how the next season is going to go. Like I said, this season was a lot. There were a lot of things I didn’t talk about in this write up and if I wanted to, it’ll pass a thousand words.

And now, what are the things that have our toes curled for the next season. Georgia’s mum and step dad who she’s been running from her entire life now knows where she lives(they even drove past her house) I gasped when I saw that. Oh my, trouble is brewing alright. Marcus has a drinking problem, he failed his class and is being sent to rehab, my poor boy. Ginny is turning evil and Austin is traumatized(plus he hates Ginny now.) Paul’s career as mayor is about to go down and everything, everything is just going sideways. It's so hard not to feel sympathy for Georgia. I just want to give her a big big hug but that’s besides the point because now, she has to stay strong. She’s gonna need all the strength and help she can get to face this season 4 and conquer.

IMG_0112.jpeg Source With that, I’m rounding up this review. Ginny and Georgia is an ‘okay’ series to me. It’s not something that sticks to me, not like Eleceed or Attack on Titan or Never Have I Ever. Maybe I’m just the one that loses interest because of the amount of time they take before a new season releases.

    Thanks for reading.

  2. Ginny & Georgia — A Show of All Time@vickystory354d

I’ve always been drawn to modern dramedies with a strong female duo—something about the mix of humor and heart drew me in. When Ginny & Georgia came up in Netflix’s Top 10, I was hooked. The trailer for Season 3 showed Georgia being arrested at her wedding for murder, and Ginny—her daughter—breaking down, storming through school halls with that raw, emotional voiceover: “What happens when everything falls apart?”

That tension of family unraveling in real time felt like more than entertainment. It felt like an invitation to sit down and unpack the rebellion, loyalty, and forgiveness at the center of this chaos.

It was not only the quirky charm or the pastel aesthetic of Wellsbury, the town where everything was perfect on the surface. It was the promise of something worse, something real beneath the civilized vibes of good morning neighbors. And I should tell you Ginny & Georgia did not only deliver but it also tossed me into an emotional blizzard that I did not anticipate.

Ginny & Georgia is a tale of a mother and a daughter who are running away from their past- as they are discovering who they truly are. Georgia is the beautiful, violent, and mysterious mother who has lived a thousand lives before she is thirty. Her intelligent, emotionally-conflicted teenaged daughter, Ginny, is struggling to find her voice in this world that she has never really fit in.

You feel like you are watching a mother-daughter drama, and you are, but then the curtains start to be lifted. With every episode, a little more is shown: abuse, manipulation, racism, love, identity, trauma, revenge, and survival. It is like watching a nice cake being cut open and instead it is filled with blood and bruises.

So what about Georgia? The reason that the show works so well is because of her. She looks like a magnet on the outside, glowing, and she has got it all together. But behind that Southern drawl and manicured perfection lies a woman that has been in hell. And the wildest? She does not apologize about it.

She is the type of a character you are rooting and are afraid of. She commits unimaginable acts, things that you should despise her with but you do not. Because when you witness the wounds of her history, when you can see how she scrabbled out of existence attempting to be buried, you understand. You can see why she is so brutal, why she deceives and conspires. She is doing this in the interest of her children. And when the world doesn’t play fair, neither does she.

Watching Georgia reminded me how many women carry trauma behind lipstick smiles—how survival can look like control, and love can sometimes feel like obsession. She's not the perfect mom. She’s not even a good one, sometimes. But she’s real.

Next there is Ginny. A biracial teen living in primarily white Wellsbury, she is always working to figure out where she fits in the world. She is too black to the white kids, too white to the Black kids. She is too old to fit with her peers, too immature to comprehend the world of her mother.

It is heartbreaking how Ginny goes through an internal struggle. Her connection with Georgia is complicated; it is full of love, hate, misunderstanding, and fear. She desires her mother to open up, to tell the truth. However, once she starts uncovering the secrets in Georgia's closet, it was as though someone was going down a rabbit hole of betrayal and inquiries.

I recognized myself in the coming-of-age turmoil with Ginny: the clumsiness, the search to find a sense of self, the desperate desire to be heard, seen and loved unconditionally. Her poems, her cutting, her silence, it all was too familiar.

Ginny & Georgia had every chance to become another teen drama about love triangles and high school drama. However, it takes itself a notch higher since it does not fear going deep.

It addresses the issue of mental health in a very down-to-earth and exposed manner. The storyline of Ginny self-harm is not something one would recognise as a plot device, but it is incredibly painful and treated with care and realism. Racism, privilege, and social pressure are other aspects that the show addresses in a manner that raises the required discussions.

And then there is Marcus, the morose neighbor and love interest of Ginny, who, to be blunt, is one of the best teen male characters I have seen in a long time. He is not a bad boy with a heart; he is a boy who is up to his head in pain and he is trying to figure out love but he is struggling with depression. His silences, his sincerity--they bite.

It was like watching snippets of my own life play out in front of my eyes as I watched Ginny & Georgia. The necessity to be flawless and at the same time to be on the verge of disintegration. The burden of trauma of generations. The untidiness of love, family, and self.

I even cried at times, such as when Ginny collapses in her therapist office, or when Georgia remembers the abuse she experienced as a child. I even felt anger, when people refused to accept that Ginny was hurt, when the fact that Georgia is charming was sufficient to make people overlook the reality. and there were times when I just leaned back and read with amazement of the great writing, the multifaceted characters, the shameless frankness.

Ginny & Georgia is not a show that you forget easily. It's one of those shows that lingers even when you're done watching. It forces you to doubt the concepts of good and bad, mother and monster. It reminds you that nobody has all the answers or anything that they are trying to conceal and that you don’t always look pretty when you are trying to survive.

Ginny and Georgia Is not just about a mother and daughter.

    It’s about all of us.

  3. Ginny and Georgia (2025) || Hard Luck@jhymi374d

Yeah, it’s one of those series where you’re done with it, and you don’t know what to say. Not in a bad way. More like in a “Well...that happened” way. I’ve been following Ginny and Georgia since the first season, and I’ve loved every experience. It’s a series, which I’m guessing from the look of things will most likely have a continuation, so there’s not too much to say about it till you’ve gotten to the end. But I got to the end of the third season today, so I’ll just leave a few words for the characters.

    Georgia

I love her to the moon and back. She has made terrible decisions, and somehow managed to get out of them, until this season, at least. She may be a lying, manipulative, murderer, but she loves her kids to death, and will do anything for them. So, that has to count for something. One of my friends talked about the fact that she managed to make all the men in her life friends. If anything, I’d like to take a page out of her book when it comes to men, but coughs coughs, who said I need it? Lol.

    Ginny

Hmmmm, Ginny should be a rant session all on her own. And maybe, if it were in Season 2, I would have done a well deserved rant, but thankfully, they must have noticed how hard we were beginning to hate on her, and made her less annoying. I know she had a rough childhood. I know no 16 year old should have to go through that. But she was deeply unfair to the people who loved her, especially her Mom. Anyway, that was in Season 2, and thankfully, only a bit of this season. Actually nearly liked her this season. Nearly.

    Paul

I don’t know. I want to be mad at him. I want to hate on him so bad for leaving Georgia at her lowest, but honestly, I don’t have the heart to. Georgia came into his life like a wrecking ball, and left smithereens and rubbles in her place. He’s such a sweet guy, and would have made an amazing step dad to Ginny and Georgia. It’s sad that that couldn’t be the case. Really nice guy, Paul.

    Austin

Poor baby was just a victim in all of these. He’s so adorable, he didn’t deserve all the trauma he’s had to go through. I don’t know what’s up with that ending, though. Are the script writers trying to introduce a violent streak in him, or maybe imply that he’ll become like his dad. That would be not nice. I almost want to scream. Leave that poor kid alone!!! But, I guess I have no choice but to swallow whatever gets introduced in the next season.

Ginny’s Friends (Maxine and the Lot)

Well, well, well .... Where do we start guys. If it isn’t the chaotic group. I don’t know why movies these days are trying hard to ruin friendships for me. Because why were all these girls so terrible. Maxine was done dirty in this season. There was no reason her friends turned on her like this, while Norah who said mean things and even acted worse to Ginny was off the hook. Abby should pick a struggle, honestly. She’s too much for me, and I don’t know why people are loving her. I dislike mean girls, sorry.

And then, I’m sorry, but Marcus’ sad boy aesthetic is too much for me. And I don’t quite like his acting. Maybe I’m the one wrong, but I’m sure someone else could portray his role better, but depression is a big deal, so I’m not against him cause of that. I just don’t like his acting.

Who else? I like Joe. Really really really like Joe. But that’s a story for another day. I like Georgie with Paul, but Joeeeee.... Okay, I’ll stop fangirling.

Anyway, that’s all for Ginny and Georgia. It’s a nice series, and I would definitely see Season 4, any year they decide to release it.

  4. [ENG-ESP] Review - Ginny & Georgia (1 season ) 📽📽📽@nathyortiz1118d

    📽 Bienvenidos a mi blog 📽

    Welcome to my blog

Hello friends of Hive, I hope you are very well the day, this time I come to talk a little about my opinion about the series found on Netflix as "Ginny & Georgia" really had planned to start last year, but for other reasons I could not do it, that's why in this time I have taken the joy of watching this series. Since its beginning I consider that there was a lot of demand from the mother to her daughter, perhaps a past as scary as Georgia's did that reflected in their children, often that is suffered by the smallest, that is seen in this series that is full of aspects of society, such as: drugs, sexuality, drama and power, is how I represent this series as each of its chapters so reflected it.

    image.png

During season 1 we realized the constant changes that Ginny has had in her life, she finally arrives to a place where she is accepted and finds love, between bad and good days, but they remain happy, but the past continues to torment her mother who for things of life and because of her protection does things that are not good for the welfare of the family. The relationship between mother and daughter is good as the roles seem to be exchanged since on the one hand we see a daughter worried about the future and a mother living life to the fullest and freedom, but without realizing what weighs on the heart of her mother Georgia, after a stormy past, they decide to come to a new place to have a better quality of life.

A rather complicated drama as Georgia's life is turbulent and very fast, but in the middle of the series appears Jesse who is a private investigator who is hired by Kenny's wife to find out the past life of this young mother, giving alerting results, where it is seen that Georgia was married before the death of her second husband, but they need to seek information as they do not believe in that, because it is at stake the will of the same, for this final is a bit scary because their children due to so many obstacles get part of his dark past. The arrival of Georgia to this new city makes commotion among the inhabitants and people in the middle, such is the case of Paul, a former mayor who is about to re-launch his candidacy, who falls in love with this pretty blonde and promises a lovely future for her and her children, something that for her was perfect, it is a drama where we see a past to discover and many questions to clarify.

Between suspense, love and a life of luxury, Georgia has to deal with a very bad past that she does not want her children to discover because for her the best thing is to save her children from all that drama that surrounds her, in this series we see a woman who wants to disguise with her good deeds the dark past, but without realizing that little by little everything comes to light. Once the series progresses we learn about incalculable things, in addition to the process that her children are taking along the way, for me this series perhaps we can reflect it in real life because cases like this can happen and even worse, that's why we must be alert for the next season.

    image.png

For me this season is part of acceptance and new challenges for the family, where we see a process of their children in terms of their adaptation, and her in a process to erase the past, without realizing that everything is discovered over time, for me despite being a youth series has left me clear learning, what we do in the past comes to affect terribly in the present, Although perhaps in search of being able to get ahead with the children you can do anything, but this case is different, because not having a good childhood this comes to happen a lot, that's why we must get to form strong families and bring children into the world when they have the memories because they are the ones who receive all these problems, both physically, spiritually and psychologically.

Finally I can tell you that I liked it a lot and I find it interesting, although it is a series that already has some time, now is that I decided to see it as such, I hope that everything can be developed in a positive way for this big family, although Georgia wants to cover the sun with a finger, it will not be able to. Life is not so fair many times, we must do things right and try to justify the process, without rushing or letting others be on top of us, I hope you liked it and if you want to leave your comments about it, it would be fascinating.

She suffered countless abuses from her stepfather, for which she ran away from home at such a young age, however since she was pregnant gave everything for her baby, she mainly lived with her partner's parents, but she also escaped from there, since they wanted to take her baby away from her and she was not going to allow it.

On the other hand we see Ginny, a 15-year-old teenager who wants a normal life, a normal mother (since Georgia has always been a bit free and quite explicit with some issues that teenagers tend to be uncomfortable with), she no longer wants to move Plus, he wants his mom to stop lying and hiding things from him, since he knows that his mom has told him a lot of lies.

This series touches on quite strong issues and in a good way, we see what racism and abuse are, the small signs that stepparents sometimes give when they have bad thoughts, it deals with self-harm, they mention therapy a lot as the best help to deal with your problems, show the harsh reality of teenage mothers.

    Vader

The mother and daughter relationship is generally very good and quite realistic, but honestly Ginny seems to me a rather selfish character, both with her friends and with her friends, two of them are not explored very well in depth and do not give it importance necessary, neither in the series nor her friends, that bothers me a bit.

Max became a somewhat obsessive character for me, especially when he only talked about his ex-girlfriend and more when he stopped talking to her and began to humiliate her friends for hiding a secret from her, I know it was something strong and even uncomfortable but her reaction was totally ruthless. I know teenagers behave like this, but when they are really your friends at least you are willing to talk.

I thought Marcus was a great character that I hope will have more prominence in the next season, he has many issues to address later, in the same way the character of Abby has good material to be dealt with, such as the divorce of her parents and his complexes with his body.

We are looking forward to the 3rd season, since there are still doubts to be resolved and many issues to be addressed, but it is a very good series, it makes you see both sides of the coin, it makes you feel identified with ridiculous actions that you did in your adolescence and better understand both parts.

  6. Ginny & Georgia: Too Teenage Drama?@wolfofnostreet1529d

In my review of the last teenage drama series I saw, I mentioned how dramatic the lead, Devi, was. She was dramatic and funny, but I can't say the same for Ginny in Ginny & Georgia. All teenage drama fans gather around, I'm back with another review of one of your favourite genres.

Ginny & Georgia is a Netflix series that aired its first season in April 2021. It stars Antonia Gentry, Brianne Howey, Diesel La Torraca, and other talented actors. It's a 10-episode series and a second season is set to be aired anytime this year.

It's a story about a mother and daughter navigating their relationship while living off the proceeds from the mother's con-woman ways unknown to the daughter. The show also explores social issues like racism with Ginny being a mixed girl.

Other issues the show explores are self-harm, suicide, body image, sex and consent. Basically, everything that teenagers go through in these times.

I think this show is two shows in one. I would have loved to see Georgia separate, doing her own thing and conning her way through life. She's a strong lead and it felt like the Ginny character was a draw-back to the amazing-ness of Georgia.

Georgia would have been a fantastic show minus the teenage-ness Ginny and others bring to it. Ginny alone would also have been great, as a teenage drama fan I can never have too much of those. Putting both together just seems miscalculated to me.

Now to the story, I blame Georgia for not being open with her daughter about her ways. Yep, her parenting is kinda shitty if we're being unrealistic. One reason I like Marty from Ozark is that he made it known to the kids that he was involved in shady business and that made the kids less shitty.

Georgia here isn't straightforward with her daughter and this makes Ginny do dumb stuff that would have been avoided if she came clean with her.

I happened to watch this show when a trendy conversation was on about 13-year-olds having sex and it made me a bit uneasy. This show is PG-rated but I sure as hell would want to see it if I was 13.

In my mind, half the cast being teenagers means it's a teenage movie, I think I speak for 13-year-olds around the world. Be mindful of what your kids watch though.

So back to the Ginny character, my goodness, this girl is annoying, dramatic but in an annoying way. All of her new friends actually like her but she ends up ruining it just like Devi from Never Have I Ever.

We can attribute her behaviour to the constant change of environment she has had to go through for years and how hard it is for her to adapt. The effect of the instability can also be seen in her younger brother too.

A take-home from this for parents could be, try as much as possible to create stability for your kids, not everyone can deal with change easily.

The plot of this show got lost on me, midway in and I was tired already because it seemed like it wasn't heading anywhere. I wanted more of Georgia but I wasn't getting that. Maybe in the next season there'd be more on her, I would really enjoy that.

After Georgia who is obviously my favourite character, the other character I liked and wanted more of is Ellen. She's the fuck them kids kind of mum, and who doesn't enjoy this character on their screen?

The actors were great, the teenagers are all short for their real ages though because I was surprised to find out they're all at least 21 years old. I felt relieved knowing they are adults in real life because, all that kissing and sex at 15? Phew. Great casting of childish-looking people though.

The teenage drama part of the show was not giving what it was supposed to give and for the first time, I longed to see the adults more in a supposed teenage drama.

Well, it's not that I'm intrigued by Ginny & Georgia but I look forward to the next season. I need to know what's next for scandalous Georgia.

Have you seen this show? What do you think?
