  1. Gintama 2: Rules are Made to be Broken || A Review@ridgette369d

Have you ever tried watching Gintama? Well, I think it's really a must that you already know or at least have watched an episode of it if you're going to read this review. By the way, this isn't a review of its anime because I still haven't watched the whole series yet, but this one will be all about the most recent live-action adaptation of Gintama. I already watched the first movie and I somehow expected that the second one would not be as good as the first—but I'm wrong. Actually, I like this one a little bit more than the first adaptation. Why? I'll tell you after I share with you a gist of what this live adaptation is all about.

    About the Movie

    IMG_20250704_212138.jpg

Gintama 2: Rules are Made to be Broken is a 2018 live-action adaptation and a sequel to the first Gintama live-action, way back in 2017. This two-hour and fourteen-minute movie was written and directed by Yûichi Fukuda and was first released last August 17, 2018. So, like usual, the Odd Jobs (The Yorozuya) are again facing a tight money problem. They still haven't paid their monthly rents, and Otose is quite relentless in making them do so. To pay their rent and also to solve all their money-related problems, the Odd Jobs decided to hunt for jobs instead of waiting for them to come.

    IMG_20250704_212211.jpg

However, it seems that all of them have rotten luck because in every small job they do, they always meet the Shogun— who unfortunately became a victim of their rotten luck. But their problem doesn't end in meeting the Shogun because they also got involved in some kind of trouble, and this time it's an internal conflict within the Shinsengumi. A traitor stands amidst them, and he's bound to paint the Shinsengumi black. With Hijikata acting odd, the Odd Jobs were forced to mediate and protect the peace in Edo Japan again.

    IMG_20250704_212240.jpg

Compared to the 2017 adaptation, I find this also more entertaining to watch. Plot-wise, I find this movie more engaging because there are more characters introduced, plus I like how things turned out. The way they smoothly transitioned from comedic scenes to serious ones was something else. Further, I find this surprisingly funnier than the first adaptation. Well, that beetle hunting scene in the first movie was unforgettably funny, but overall I find this more entertaining and comedic. With all its vulgarity and dark humor, that shogun scene indeed me laughed really hard.

    IMG_20250704_212324.jpg

Also, the expressions of the actors and actresses who portrayed the Odd Jobs were undeniably silly. It's apparent that they definitely did their best to portray their characters and their silly expressions. I know they didn't tone down the expressions they wanted to portray because even though they didn't a hundred percent copied of those expressions, I can really see a resemblance. Further, at some point, I heard that they somehow sound so alike with the anime VAs of the characters they portrayed and for me, that's quite amazing.

    IMG_20250704_212339.jpg

This adaptation incorporates fewer CGIs, which didn't diminish the enjoyment I felt while watching it. Like the first movie, it also has cool action scenes and well-choreographed fights. And before I forget, Gintama won't be fully Gintama if it doesn't have its opening bloopers and signature anime parody. Like the anime, the opening credits also took more than one take because of the banter of the Odd Jobs. As for its parody, even though I haven't watched Evangelion, I immediately recognized the characters they're portraying. That scene was supposedly not funny, but with Gintoki as Misato, I couldn't help but laugh again.

    IMG_20250704_212432.jpg

Also, that part where they're about to go protect the Shogun...ahhhh they censored the title, but who wouldn't recognize the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro. All across the whole movie, you can see a lot of stuff from other anime, and they're something that you really need to expect from a Gintama adaptation. But what totally caught me off guard in this movie is that it was able to bring tears to my eyes. I was surprised by how affecting the backstory of the villain was, yet that still doesn't justify his actions against Shinsengumi. I'm glad that he was able to get the end he deserved, and it was a satisfying resolution.

    IMG_20250704_212553.jpg

Overall, this movie was a solid sequel to its first live-action adaptation. There are no boring moments while watching this one, and every scene hooked me to the point that the more than two hours of viewing time seemed to just pass so fast. So if you're interested in a live action that wouldn't disappoint you, then it's high time that you should try the Gintama 2!

Before I end this review, I'll share with you its trailer, so—

  2. Gintama 「銀魂」 (2006...2010, 201 episodes)@onlyjob469d

Chaotic comedy and parody of everything anime, full of cliches, grotesque situations, absurd dialogues, puns and jokes.

Team of broke dysfunctional delinquents having crazy adventures without leaving the town of Edo [^1]. The show remotely resembles "Futurama" with lack of transient story and each episode being loosely connected, isolated adventure. Abundant references to everything, and the more you know about history of Japan (e.g. Shinsengumi ^2) the more references you'll be able to recognise.

Characters are fully aware of being in the anime show and they repeatedly express concerns of being cancelled. They make fun of opening and closing credits, etc. Main character is addicted to (weekly Shonen) JUMP manga magazine despite "being too old to be reading it". Loud, hyperbolic comedy gets tedious. Very few things are serious in this show and I could not endure more than 49 episodes that have too much repetition of the same jokes and conversation patterns. There are some genuinely funny moments, smart and original, but few, among too much noise and butt jokes.

No character in this show have the slightest ambition. They are all drifters, just hanging around, letting flow of adventure taking them wherever it goes. They pick noses.

Hilariously most unattractive nekomimi (cat lady) character.

    https://myanimelist.net/anime/918/Gintama

[^1]: Edo is a former name of Tokyo, before foreign influence in the mid 19th century. In the show, alien invasion to Edo and "swaggering, arrogant aliens" is a reference to American (and/or Western) influence.

If "sorry" was enough, we wouldn't have seppuku.

Your eyes are bloodshot. Were you up all night playing Tetris?

This is too much, even for a special two-part episode.

Why can't I have a Bankai or something like that. ... I wish I could shoot something like Getsuga Tensho, too...

We don't need road traffic laws in this day and age.

A super strong beautiful heroine who's big eater? Kagura appears!

You don't understand the suffering that people with naturally wavy hair have to go through!

How did you plan on helping me when you can't even get a helicopter?

The set-up is right out of manga!

The secret to enjoying life is to hold on to the kid inside you.

"Can't we skip this intro already?" Huh? But there might be people watching this for the first time.

With the start of the show like this, we'll be cancelled before the end of the season!

You've got some nerve, singing karaoke while plotting to overthrow the government!

But we haven't lost sight of ourselves to the point where we would wag our tails for the government.

In the pursuit of our mission, a few small sacrifices are nothing!

What? Are our ratings so bad that we need blatant moe pandering?

Anime is such a wonderful thing!

The stress of modern education without a father is showing up here!

Once you've come of age, it isn't your parents' fault anymore.

Well, there may be difficult moments, tough moments and unbearable moments... You might think things are difficult now, but in the future, it's gonna get a lot worse. If you keep that in mind, you can endure it.

Hey, don't waste a scene on a minor character!

I'll stuff a live fish into your mailbox one day!

You contradicted your own argument just to cover up your error!

Really, give me a break. I'm the main character, you know.

    "Gin Tama" supports "DEATH NOTE"!

I can't die until I get my paycheck for this month!

Ramen shops with long menus never do well.

"One arm of mine is worth three of yours!" "Oh yeah?! Well, three of mine are worth six of yours!!"

I may not look it, but as a kid, I pretended to be a ninja all the time.

That sounds like some kind of evil anime organization.

Are you some Jackie Chan? And besides, he's already fifty! Oh man, when'd I stop going to see his movies? I guess Jackie Chan is the turning point when a boy turns into a man.

This isn't good... According to my data, there's a 99.8% probability I'll be beaten in the next scene.

Just so you know, anime is a tough job that doesn't make much money, so I wouldn't recommend it.

We don't need any of that superfluous storyline!

We are lucky. The God of Poverty is definitely with us.

Love, be it tragic or whatever, helps people mature.

Old ladies do fine after their husbands die. But if a man's wife dies first, he usually just comes apart.

  3. Why I'll Never Finish Gintama & Important Historical Aspect. / Dlaczego nigdy nie skończę Gintamy & ważny aspekt historyczny.@herosik609d

    Gint1.webp

A few years ago I wrote a text about this anime. Nothing has changed during this time, I still haven't watched even half an episode of Gintama. Why? Due to laziness, I simply don't want to move the computer to the other room where I have a large TV. I could watch it on my laptop in my room, but I've gotten used to it. I'm afraid that until Gintama is available for streaming, I won't watch it. I regret this, because this title has many advantages. It's a great comedy, an excellent parody (probably the only one of its kind) that doesn't rely on fighting as much as Bleach, Naruto, or DB. However, it is really nicely drawn and animated! Moreover, there are plenty of references and comments to Japanese history, culture, society and the present. From what I remember, Hideaki Sorachi was inspired by his editor to create a comic book based on the history of the Shinsengumi. It was a small, elite unit founded by order of the military government, known as the Bakufu.

    Gint3.webp

We see this already in chapter 1, when Shogun forced the remaining samurai to disarm and abandon their previous lifestyle. He left only an elite, small unit known as the Shinsengumi (to put it very simply - something like a special police, secret services). It was a period of great changes for Japan, a country that until recently was backward and on the periphery of international politics (i.e. they didn't give a damn about it, just like most world leaders currently don't give a damn about Africa, apart from its raw materials). One of the conditions for joining this distinguished group was a complete reform of the state, including the military sector (Americans like to trade in weapons). The Japanese adopted the principle - Western science, Eastern ethics. As a result, the previous military power of the Japanese, i.e. Samurai, was abandoned. In their place, a regular, conscript army was introduced. Samurai ceased to be subject to Daimyo (feudal lords), and instead the state began to support them. As it happens in life, running a country is an expensive matter, so from time to time the earnings of unnecessary or easily replaceable employees are reduced. The best ones somehow managed to become the official bodyguards of the governors, i.e. the former Daimyos, something like in the case of modern mafiosi who take boxers or MMA fighters as bodyguards. Many of them began to fall into deeper and deeper stagnation - they took opium, drank alcohol, despaired over their fate, committed harakiri or died as lonely Ronin. Ronin is a samurai without a master.

    Gint2.webp

The main character of Gintama, Sakata Gintoki, is just such a Ronin. He lost his sword, so he uses a wooden version of it. Contrary to the story we know, Gintoki does not fall into stagnation (although some may say so, seeing as he lives like Peter Pan). Instead, he starts his own company that performs various tasks for people. Additionally, it was modeled on an important figure in Japanese folklore - Sakata no Kintoki. Another source of inspiration was Ruroni Kenshin, the title character of the manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki. In the 1st link you will find information about other characters and their historical prototypes.

Ronin to samuraj bez pana.

    Gint2.webp

Główny bohater Gintamy, Sakata Gintoki, to właśnie taki Ronin.

  4. An Anime Within Another Anime, Taking Place During an Anime, That's Gintama Anime@alienpunklord611d

    image.png image source

When we start talking about Gintama, it’s hard to escape that feeling of "Why is this anime so out of the box?" For those who have watched it, this question is almost a compliment, but for those who haven't, Gintama is an experience that definitely doesn’t go unnoticed. The anime is a crazy mix of everything action, comedy, parody, and even well-placed drama. And if you think this description sounds generic, it’s because Gintama goes far beyond typical standards.

Let’s start with the basics: Gintama is set in an alternate Japan where aliens, called Amanto, invaded the country during the Edo period and basically put the samurai out of business. But instead of being a historical drama full of honor codes, it’s a show packed with jokes and absurd situations, led by the famous samurai Gintoki Sakata, who seems not to care about anything but has a sense of justice that comes out at the most unexpected moments. Now, speaking of Gintama’s humor style it’s an anime that isn’t afraid to be bizarre. You never know what to expect from each episode one day, they’re facing a serious alien threat, and the next, they’re discussing the "nobility" of constipation struggles. It’s a series that enjoys playing with its own conventions, mocks clichés, and breaks the fourth wall constantly. It’s that kind of humor that can make fun of itself while still telling an interesting story.

And it’s impossible to talk about this anime without bringing up One Punch Man. Fans who enjoy the absurd humor of One Punch Man, with Saitama taking out everyone with a single punch, will find equally bold humor in Gintama, but with a different twist. While One Punch Man plays with superhero themes, Gintama pokes fun at just about anything. Seriously, the humor in this anime knows no bounds. They’ve parodied other anime, manga, TV shows, and even Japanese cultural events. Nothing is too sacred for Gintama to make fun of.

What also makes Gintama stand out, and something I particularly love, is the sheer amount of cultural references and inside jokes it uses. If you have a decent grasp of Japanese culture, the humor becomes even more interesting. But even if you don’t, the way the anime delivers its jokes helps you get the essence of them.

    Now, my personal opinion?
Gintama is one of those anime you watch not just to laugh, but to feel like part of the story. It goes beyond simple comedy, with very well-developed characters. You laugh, and at the same time, you care about each of their stories. Gintoki, despite his laziness and lack of money, feels much closer to us. His humanity makes the anime’s humor much more relatable. In the end, if you’re looking for an anime that will make you laugh while also building a connection with the story, Gintama is a solid choice. It’s not an anime for everyone it demands patience and an open mind to accept the absurd but it’s worth it for anyone who loves unpredictable stories and characters that defy labels.

Hello illustrious young people, today the original plan was to share a manhwa that has me trapped, but I met the legendary irreverent of Jump, so I will make a shameless change of plans, since it has been the inspiration of many good manga of comedy like Sket Dance, Cuticle Tantei Inaba (both animes that we'll talk about another time), and my favorite Bimbougami Ga! (which I already recommended, have you seen it? Yes, yes, right ?, good guys [] ~ ( ̄ ▽ ̄) ~ *), today, we will talk about the mythical Gintama.

Oye Gin-san…

Hey Gin-san… What should we write as a synopsis? -What do you mean? Naturally what our ani is about ... -Maybe something from the Captain Pan chapter? -Are you crazy? And reveal to the world that we were defeated by an old woman and a cat of questionable sex? Whose side are you four eyes? -Then what do we do? –Just leave it to those who write reviews, if Hideaki can't describe the manga adequately, what makes you think we can? - ... There is no way to debate that, if we talk too much they could cancel us.…

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

    EN MI OPINIÓN/IN MY OPINION…

Previously, in several of our reviews, the name Gintama has come up, either because of its soundtrack, because of its animation, or because of its theme, there are already an infinity of related things on the internet about it, so I'm going to skip the part Today's technique and I'm going to focus on why this anime is so popular from my perspective.

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

First I am going to address its soundtrack, where it must be said that being a long anime, every certain number of chapters the opening and ending are changed, so it has a large number of themes that vary in rhythms and styles depending on the interpreter, a a situation that allows it to adapt to many tastes, that combined with the incredible animation selected for each theme creates a very pleasant style to present with each change, to that, we must add its instrumentalization, certainly, it does not have a great variety of themes, but they are incredibly well mixed to maintain their representative essence, in addition, not satisfied with it, it has variations of many of those themes, variations adjusted in speed, rhythm and tone for each scene, it is easy to even detect its soundtrack regardless of The openings and endings, in my opinion it was good to limit the instrumental themes, it allows you to create personality to the anime itself, so I think it's very nice.

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

Now, with regard to animation, animation in general is a rather detailed but smooth style, typical of the genre, a type of animation flexible enough to highlight an irreverent comedy anime, it uses its animation as a resource, it is self-censoring, It changes styles to parody other anime, although it has quite invasive animation errors, they go unnoticed due to the fact that it fits perfectly with the on-screen comedy, animation that does not disappoint and that overflows in quality in its serious arcs, the level of detail is maximized and you can see the care of the animation in the details, and not to mention in his movies, his battle scenes are simply incredible, one of the best cared battle anime I've seen.

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

Regarding its color palette, we find everything, bright colors, pastel tones, dark colors, animation plays a lot with lighting depending on what you want to show, this is how you should treat an animation in a shonen, the sharpness that handles, coupled with its contrast, the planes, everything is very well managed, and the designs of both the backgrounds and the characters are very clean, so, as a whole, the animation does not leave much to be desired, it is a very well done animation.

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

Gintama is mostly a comedy anime, although it is a really strong comedy, but do not sully me, let's go little by little, this series is a manga that uses comedy as a medium, they make too much use of jokes related to age, nudes, and almost any substance that comes out of the human body, so for me, it is a somewhat difficult type of comedy in excess, but what happens, it is well balanced with the type of tsukomi comedy that is the favorite in Japan, as well as mixing it With other styles of comedy with unexpected situations and irreverent things, there are situations that have made me laugh out loud, but it also becomes difficult to see more than 4 of its comedy chapters in a row, but then why do I recommend Gintama? Because then he takes a turn to the other extreme, where his comedy is lost almost entirely and gives me a serious bow that manages to strike chords, which makes it a great combination, because it's impressive how it goes from this:

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

To this in a so natural way, it is that it is a brutal change:

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

Although comedy can be a bit strong, if you like this type of comedy, this is your anime, but, what if I don't like that type of comedy? Simple, just look at the chapters where the characters are presented. and you can go to 1 chapter before each serious arc and you can enjoy a fun and emotional action anime, which is very worth it given the combination of the soundtrack, the excellent quality animation and the work of the seiyus, they give as Result one of the most popular anime and manga in Japan from 2003 to date.

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

Something that must be applauded about this series is ultimately the construction of its characters that shines not only in the serious arcs, but also in the comedy arcs, it has a very complex world construction, but well planned, and the number of characters that create this world is quite large, although its protagonists are 3, the large number of secondary characters give direction to the story, and the best thing about them is that they are not disposable secondary, they are secondary that are reused, so they are treated as characters who lived their own hard and happy stories and experiences, they are deeper characters than what is seen by the comedy part, but in the movies and serious arcs they really let you love them, something that only good planning and construction is able to achieve.

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

I dare say that Sorachi Hideaki (author of the manga), if he is not a genius, is close to being one because of the work he does, he has seen the cancellation of many comedy series, which is usually difficult to maintain the level he handles Gintama without getting bored, certainly, he has repeated jokes, but the question is not about the joke, it is about the way and the moment in which he uses them, that, together with the serious arcs, that intervene when many comedy chapters have passed It makes her maintain a very delicate balance, a wonderful balance.

    Gintama( TV Tokyo, 2003-2018)

    TERMINANDO/ENDING…

From Gintama I learned many things, taking care of those you appreciate, living always with your face up, and, above all, that something is only illegal if you get caught ╮ ( ̄ ▽ ̄) ╭, so why not give it a try ?, Gintama is an anime that has it all, tears, laughter, the immovable values of the last samurai, his conviction and his way of seeing life after reaping those of many others, returns to the strawberry milk addict, one of the best anime of the Jump.

Well my jackals, so far for today, if you already saw Gintama and decided to leave it for being too much, give it another chance and you will see that it does not disappoint you, if you have not seen it, remember that it is not suitable for children under 16, I will leave them, but not without first wishing them that they have a very good time and that they better have a good time.

  8. Gintama || Katsuo Lineart@bek-seii2671d

Hey, here's a little preview of what I'm currently working on which is Katsura from Gintama when he was under the disguise of Katsuo the plumber, featuring Elizabeth (or Eluigi?🤔) Katsura is probably the character I always look forward to seeing the most in Gintama, which is easy to say with his hilarious skits. However he also has brains and has the ability to command and unite forces. He's showed skill in combat as well his smarts in tight situations. Elizabeth is also a character I could watch for an eternity, always bringing violent comedy to the table as well as a great amount of strength and combat to scenes, making the scenes look all that more cool!

I'll be back soon with the finished piece!

Welcome, Guest! This is the house of @anime-addict. The Master would be glad to be acknowledged of your visit, Mira Sama Want to Share about "Rival Gintoki".

    Rival Gintoki Part 5

    Umibozu

Umibouzu (星海坊主, Umibōzu) is a renowned alien-hunter or 'Alien Buster' in the universe. His real name is Kankou (神晃, Kankō), and he is the father of Kamui and Kagura.

The nickname Umibouzu, which literally means the sea of star (galaxy) monk, is given to him in honour of his fighting prowess.
Although not clearly visible, but Gintoki is the figure of "father" for Kagura. Since Kagura's real father was working out in space to hunt down the Alien, his father Umibozu could not always accompany Kagura.

Rivalitas that occur between the two were not too strong. Initially Umibozu thought that Gintoki only harnessed the power of Kagura, but all changed when Umibozu saw for himself how Gintoki protect his daughter.

Gintoki and Umibozu have similarities in "nurturing" Kagura, which is very overprotective. In the story "Kagura's Boyfriend" Gintoki and Umibozu are both shown as a father who is very protective of his daughter, and do not want her little girl owned by others.

Umibozu is ranked second, because it is possible that he is much stronger than Gintoki itself. Your Umibozu is from the Yato clan, an already endangered race of Amanto or Alien. The clan is very strong, and Umibozu is one of the strongest creatures of this clan.

"Anime are not just a TV show like cartoons, Anime are epic stories which will never dies!"

    Rival Gintoki Part 4

    Takasugi Shinsuke

    https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/deathbattlefanon/images/d/d1/Takasugi_mug.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160506024537

Takasugi Shinsuke (高杉 晋助, Takasugi Shinsuke) is the leader of the Kiheitai, a Joui extremist faction and a wanted fugitive. He was the main recurring antagonist in Gintama before the appearance of Utsuro.
Both have become rivals since childhood. Takasugi Shinsuke as a child is often a Doujo challenger where Gintoki practices with Yoshida Shouyo. Finally Gintoki also accepted this challenge, but always ended with a victory from Gintoki.

Both also took part during the Joui war. If you see the power, then Gintoki and Takasugi can be practically as powerful. They've had a serious duel in Shogun's Shooting.

There are some points that make them quarrel, as the short body of Takasugi and his rich family becomes the subject of an explosion for Gintoki. While Gintoki's defeat of Takasugi is also often tipped back, although Gintoki won more.

Currently, because there is a new enemy is stronger that is Utsuro or their teacher together first, then the status of the main enemy Takasugi also shifted. Precisely now both work together to defeat the teacher (which is also the cause of hostilities Gintoki Takasugi).

  32. Here are Rival Gintoki Strongest of Serial Gintama Part 3@anime-addict3212d

    Moshimoshi, Senpai!

Welcome, Guest! This is the house of @anime-addict. The Master would be glad to be acknowledged of your visit, Mira Sama Want to Share about "Rival Gintoki".

    Rival Gintoki Part 3

    Hijikata Toushirou

Hijikata Toushirou ( 土方 十四郎 Hijikata Tōshirō ) is the former Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. Introduced as the brains of the Shinsengumi, he is commonly known as the Demonic Vice-Commander (鬼の副長, Oni no Fukucho), striking fear into his enemies and subordinates (with the exceptions of Kondou Isao and Okita Sougo).

He had a split personality named "Tosshi", an otaku soul from a cursed sword he bought. This incarnation first appeared during the Shinsengumi Crisis Arc and in the Otsu Arc, where this personality dies by exhausting himself in a final match against fellow otaku, Shinpachi.
Hijikata Tōshirō is the main rival of Gintoki. But unfortunately, for the strongest in this list, he is only ranked fourth. The Vice-Chairman of the Devil from Shinsengumi has been a rival of Gintoki even since the beginning of their meeting.

Both often comment on each other. This two-person's favorite food is also very strange, but it sucks, they do not care about other people's responses, and each one of them insults each other's favorite food.

Rice with mayonnaise for Hijikata, and rice with red beans which amounts very outrageous for Gintoki. Although rivals, but both have a very good relationship and trust each other. This is shown in the Shogun Sharing and Shinsengumi Shogunate story.

  33. Here's the Gintoki Super Strong Wooden Sword Facts at Gintama!@anime-addict3242d

    Moshimoshi, Senpai!

Welcome, Guest! This is the house of @anime-addict. The Master would be glad to be acknowledged of your visit, Mira Sama Want to Share about Facts "Gintoki".

Gintoki Super Strong Wooden Sword Facts

Gintoki Sakata's flagship wooden sword in the anime and manga Gintama is indeed magical. Seen from any direction, the sword is just an ordinary wooden sword, nothing special.

But the weapon is not a wooden sword at random. With that sword, Gintoki succeeded against many of his enemies. Even the wooden sword is so strong that it can cut down steel, or destroy another iron sword.

Here are the facts of Gintoki's wooden sword.

    1. Gintoki Bokutou

The name of the Gintoki sword is Gintoki Bokutou or Toyako Bokutou. Bokutou itself is the Japanese way of calling a wooden sword. While Toyako means Lake Toya, a lake in the region Shikotsu-Toya, Hokaido, Japan.

So it could mean that his name is "Gintoki Wooden Sword" or "Wooden Sword from Lake Toya."

    2. Lake Toya

The Gintoki wooden sword has an engraving on its handle, carving it with the words 'Lake Toya'. Gintoki admitted that the origin of the wooden sword came from Lake Toya, a tourist spot in Hokaido.

He told me that he bought the sword as a souvenir when he went to the lake. Gintoki went to the lake when he went on a trip with his schoolmate.

    3. The Origin of the Sword

Obviously Gintoki is just making a story about his trip to Lake Toya when he was still in school. In fact, Gintoki never got a formal school other than his class Yoshida Shoyo.

The true origin of the wooden sword is from TV Shopping. Gintoki saw the wooden sword ad on television, then he bought it.

    4. Gintoki Wooden Sword Material

Although buying it on TV Shopping does not mean it is a common wooden sword. In fact, the sword that Gintoki uses is named Hoshikudaki. The sword is made of the finest materials.
The sword is made of a 10,000 year old tree from another planet that can destroy anything. Therefore do not be confused why this wooden sword is very strong yes.

    5. Wizard of the Gintoki Sword

Gintoki Bokuto turned out to have a penunggunya, Penunggunya is a soul named Toyako. Toyako is a recluse. Her appearance resembles a middle-aged man with orange sunglasses.

Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura never go into the dimensions made by Toyako. The hermit admits the greatness of Gintoki, according to his explanation, no one has used the sword as much as Gintoki. But it is still lacking, therefore Toyako wants to teach a final stance to Gintoki.
Unfortunately Gintoki refused the offer. The reason is very simple, because he is too tired and just want to sleep peacefully on his day off.
