Hace poco empecé con mi hermana a ver un K-drama bastante popular llamado Goblin, no estaba muy segura de verlo porque sentía que el género de fantasía haría que la historia no me gustara, pero de alguna manera ví los dieciséis episodios y hay muchas cosas que debo decir de este gran y emotivo K-drama que se que a más de una persona le hizo sentir muchas emociones al mismo tiempo. Así que los invito a leer mi reseña 💫
Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, I hope you are doing well today 🩵. I recently started with my sister to watch a pretty popular K-drama called Goblin, I wasn't too sure about watching it because I felt that the fantasy genre would make me not like the story, but somehow I watched all sixteen episodes and there are many things I have to say about this great and emotional K-drama that I know more than one person felt a lot of emotions at the same time. So I invite you to read my review 💫
El drama empieza contándonos la historia de Kim Shin (Goon Yoo) un valiente guerrero que en el siglo X se enfrenta a un poderoso Rey que termina matandolo como forma de venganza por sentirse traicionado. La muerte de Kim Shin de alguna manera causa que se convierta en Goblin o Un Dios, manteniéndolo como un ser que no está del todo en el mundo pero que a la vez puede ver las situaciones que suceden a su alrededor. De alguna manera luego de su muerte se condenó a si mismo y ahora tiene la espada con la que fue asesinado clavada entre su pecho y la única forma de sacarla y poder irse de manera pacífica de este mundo es encontrando a la novia del Goblin.
The drama begins by telling the story of Kim Shin (Goon Yoo) a brave warrior who in the 10th century confronts a powerful King who ends up killing him as a form of revenge for feeling betrayed. Kim Shin's death somehow causes him to become a Goblin or A God, keeping him as a being who is not quite in the world but at the same time can see the situations happening around him. Somehow after his death he condemned himself and now has the sword he was killed with stuck in his chest and the only way to get it out and leave this world peacefully is to find the Goblin's girlfriend.
No será una tarea sencilla pasar desapercibido luego de vivir más de novecientos años como un Goblin sin encontrar a su novia y poder terminar con la trágica historia de su vida. De repente un día se encuentra con una escena de una mujer que fue atropellada y que está a punto de morir, él de alguna forma salva a esta mujer ya que sabe que ella está embarazada. Está decisión cambiaría el rumbo para siempre de Kim Shin y de la bebé nombrada Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun) quien con el paso de los años se acostumbra a la extraña vida que lleva junto a una tía despreciable que solo quiere quitarle el dinero que dejó su madre antes de morir y además tener que lidiar con ver fantasmas todo el tiempo.
It will not be an easy task to go unnoticed after living more than nine hundred years as a Goblin without finding his bride and ending the tragic story of his life. Suddenly one day he comes across a scene of a woman who was run over and is about to die, he somehow saves this woman as he knows she is pregnant. This decision would forever change the course of Kim Shin and the baby named Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun) who over the years gets used to the strange life she leads with a despicable aunt who only wants to take away the money her mother left before she died and also has to deal with seeing ghosts all the time.
La actuación de Goon Yoo es magistral, dandole fuerza a Kim Shin, un personaje con mucha historia que contar y demasiado sufrimiento durante todo el tiempo que lleva siendo un ser inmortal que va viendo cómo su pasado lo persigue de alguna manera, recordándole sus últimos momentos de vida, las personas que conoció y la manera en la que fue juzgado tan duramente solo por querer la paz en su pueblo y que su hermana pudiera tener una vida feliz. Pero nada de lo que pasó pudo ser evitado, las cosas estaban escritas para que sucedieran de esa manera. Goon Yoo es un excelente actor, además de Goblin también me gustó en otras películas y series cómo: Coffee Prince, Train to Busan, Silenced, El Juego del Calamar. Siento que su papel fue tan perfecto que hizo de esta historia tan suya que no creo que otro actor hubiera podido expresar tanto en una historia como esta tal y como lo hizo Goon Yoo.
Goon Yoo's performance is masterful, giving strength to Kim Shin, a character with a lot of history to tell and too much suffering during all the time he has been an immortal being who sees how his past haunts him somehow, reminding him of his last moments of life, the people he met and the way he was judged so harshly just for wanting peace in his village and that his sister could have a happy life. But none of what happened could have been avoided, things were scripted to happen that way. Goon Yoo is an excellent actor, besides Goblin I also liked him in other movies and series like: Coffee Prince, Train to Busan, Silenced, The Squid Game. I feel that his role was so perfect that he made this story so much his own that I don't think another actor could have expressed so much in a story like this as Goon Yoo did.
Kim Go-eun quien interpreta a Ji Eun-tak también hizo un gran trabajo como una joven con pocas esperanzas de un futuro mejor, pero con una alegría y calidad de sentimientos que hacen que su personaje sea muy entrañable, además de que es sumamente divertida y en muchas escenas te sientes emocionado de ver cómo ella expresa lo que siente dependiendo de lo que va sucediendo, no conozco mucho de sus otros trabajos actorales pero este estuvo muy bien hecho y me gustó que pudiera ser tan versátil y a la vez mostrar la vida de una joven que va creciendo y enterándose de que existe un pasado que ella no recuerda y que está destinada a cosas que nunca pensaría le podrían suceder.
Kim Go-eun who plays Ji Eun-tak also did a great job as a young girl with little hope for a better future, but with a joy and quality of feelings that make her character very endearing, plus she is extremely funny and in many scenes you feel excited to see how she expresses what she feels depending on what is happening, I don't know much of her other acting work but this was very well done and I liked that she could be so versatile and at the same time show the life of a young girl who is growing up and learning that there is a past that she does not remember and that she is destined to things that she would never think could happen to her.
Por otro lado tenemos a El Angel de La Muerte interpretado por Lee Dong-wook quien aparece en el mundo con la finalidad de llevarse a aquellas almas que pierden la vida de manera trágica o natural, el de alguna manera les da un espacio para que se despidan de sus recuerdos y para que puedan sentir la paz de encontrar un cielo que los espera. Su papel es muy divertido aunque el personaje en si es bastante serio y metódico, además tiene una gran relación con Goon Yoo y ambos se convierten en aliados para poder descubrir sus pasados y a la vez entender que es aquello que tanto les duele y que los une de una forma sobrenatural. Y el personaje de Sunny (Kim Sun) una mujer muy atractiva y excéntrica que le gusta estar a la moda y que tiene un negocio de comida, ella y el angel de la muerte tiene una relación que los mantiene unidos aunque es una situación que no se debería dar y que está prohibida al ella ser humana y él siendo un ser del inframundo.
On the other hand we have The Angel of Death played by Lee Dong-wook who appears in the world with the purpose of taking those souls who lose their lives in a tragic or natural way, he somehow gives them a space to say goodbye to their memories and so they can feel the peace of finding a heaven that awaits them. His role is very funny although the character himself is quite serious and methodical, he also has a great relationship with Goon Yoo and both become allies in order to discover their pasts and at the same time understand what it is that hurts them so much and that unites them in a supernatural way. And the character of Sunny (Kim Sun) a very attractive and eccentric woman who likes to be fashionable and has a food business, she and the angel of death have a relationship that keeps them together although it is a situation that should not be given and that is forbidden to her being human and him being a being of the underworld.
Esta historia está llena de mucha magia y secretos no revelados, además de una intersección entre el mundo real y el más allá. La manera en la que unen ambos aspectos de forma que tanto los vivos como los muertos puedan tener comunicación entre si es una manera de crear una historia más realista aunque sea del género de fantasía. Me encantó la forma en la que grabaron la historia aunque los episodios me parecieron un poco largos de más de una hora, sin embargo sentí que disfrute de esta historia que es diferente a lo que usualmente suelo ver. Te llena de intriga en todo momento, te hace llorar (aunque solo lo hice en algunas escenas 😅) y te lleva a todo un mundo dónde las circunstancias llevaron a Ji Eun-tak a acercarse a estos seres que poseen magia y trucos para convivir en el mundo real y por los cuales siente una gran conexión que va más allá de lo que un humano puede sentir.
This story is filled with a lot of magic and undisclosed secrets, as well as an intersection between the real world and the afterlife. The way they bring the two aspects together so that both the living and the dead can have communication with each other is a way to create a more realistic story even though it is of the fantasy genre. I loved the way they filmed the story although I found the episodes a bit long at over an hour, however I felt I enjoyed this story which is different from what I usually watch. It fills you with intrigue at all times, makes you cry (although I only did so in some scenes 😅) and takes you into a whole world where circumstances led Ji Eun-tak to get close to these beings that possess magic and tricks to coexist in the real world and for which she feels a great connection that goes beyond what a human can feel.
Goblin se convirtió en un drama tan exitoso que incluso hoy en día existen personas retomando la serie para volver a mirarla o personas como yo que no habíamos tenido la oportunidad de verla y que acabamos de encontrarnos con una historia maravillosa, hecha de manera tan perfecta desde los personajes hasta las ciudades donde fueron grabadas las escenas desde Corea del Sur hasta Canadá. Es una producción que tiene una forma maravillosa de mostrar una historia fuera de lo común, que con cada episodio emociona más y que sin duda según mi parecer es una de las mejores producciones coreanas hasta el momento. Más allá de lo que se pueda quedar con nosotros al terminar de verla, solo me queda decir que existen personas mágicas que hacen de la vida un lugar más increíble y que crean estas historias para entretener y conocer aún más sobre temas como la muerte, el amor, la magia y el destino.
Goblin became such a successful drama that even today there are people rewatching the series to watch it again or people like me who had not had the opportunity to watch it and we just found a wonderful story, made so perfectly from the characters to the cities where the scenes were filmed from South Korea to Canada. It is a production that has a wonderful way of showing a story out of the ordinary, that with each episode excites more and that undoubtedly in my opinion is one of the best Korean productions so far. Beyond what may stay with us when we finish watching it, I can only say that there are magical people who make life a more incredible place and who create these stories to entertain and learn even more about topics such as death, love, magic and destiny.
Recomiendo Goblin sobre todo a aquellas personas que les gustan las historias diferentes, que les atrae todo lo que tiene que ver con fantasía y que esperan ver mucho drama y una perfecta fotografía. Son episodios largos pero que al final valen totalmente la pena verlos. 💫
I recommend Goblin above all to those people who like different stories, who are attracted to anything that has to do with fantasy and who expect to see a lot of drama and perfect cinematography. They are long episodes but totally worth watching in the end. 💫
