I don't know about you but when i was way younger I used to have a lot of different Goosebumps books. I remember that except for the fact that the books were awesome, i really enjoyed their cover pages.

When i was in a bookstore for example, always these books were in specific shelves and due to that intense coloring and pictures of monsters, it would always captivate a lot of different eyes from different ages!

Fast forward to 2023 and a series was announced that arrived on Disney+ and Hulu. The series has 10 episodes and released on Friday 13/10/23. Some actors that you may be familiar with and i believe are the essence of the show are Justin Long and Rachael Harris.

Plot

So the story starts in 1993 with Harold Biddle a teenager who dies in a fire and while this is happening a skull-like specter is released through the fire. Then we get to see the present-day a follow a couple of teenagers in the same small city where Harold Biddle died.

We get to see his "spirit" coming back and seeking revenge on these kids and while we don't know whether he has a reason or not to attack them, we soon find out its ulterior motives. In general, it's quite spooky sometimes and has some jump scares but don't expect much more.

Some of the actors are great like the ones i mentioned above, the story has some development but don't expect any plot that will be mind-blowing. In general though if you have read the books it's not like the plot was mind-blowing either. It was the whole atmosphere and the writing that was captivating.

Also, once again if you have read many different goosebumps stories you will see many familiar spooky powers and "monsters", including clones, masked monsters, worms etc etc. So in a way, you may feel like a kid again! Also, the main let's say "villain" is not actually Bilde put a puppet as you can see in the first picture or the trailer, which is a pretty cool and funny character.

All, in all the show, is quite enjoyable and it can be even more if you are a goosebumps fan. At the same time though as i mentioned the plot is quite basic, the acting is mostly at a basic level as well. They try to attract both the 90s "kids" as well as a new audience and try to create a similar to Stranger Things vibe but i don't think that they achieved it. There are a lot of series that are greater than this one but if you have time to kill or are a fan of the books then it's a good option i think. Overall i would give a 6/10.

    Hola mis queridos amigos de HIVE, feliz Halloween para todos, espero que estén bien y disfrutando de este día; por ser esta fecha, es lógico que por muchos medios, lo que más veremos es series, películas y más producciones con respecto al Halloween, por la televisión, en el cine, teatro y más; pero hay un medio que es uno de los más importante “nuestra memoria”, que nos ayuda a recordar y traer al presente esas producciones que nos gustaron tiempo atrás, hace muchos años, GOOSEBUMPS, serie conocida en Hispanoamérica como "ESCALOFRÍOS" era una de las más vistas por todos nosotros, jóvenes y adultos en los años 90.

    Hello my dear friends of HIVE, happy Halloween to all, I hope you are well and enjoying this day; for being this date, it is logical that by many means, what we will see more is series, movies and more productions regarding Halloween, on television, in the cinema, theater and more; but there is a medium that is one of the most important "our memory", which helps us to remember and bring to the present those productions that we liked long ago, many years ago, GOOSEBUMPS, series known in Hispanoamerica as "ESCALOFRÍOS " was one of the most watched by all of us, young and old in the 90s.

    Mi pareja y yo hablamos de la serie, buscamos para ver algunos capítulos por la nostalgia que nos causó, con verlos nos bastó para recordar lo mucho que nos gustaba, sobretodo el opening, y los personajes icónicos.

    My partner and I talked about the series, we looked to see some chapters for the nostalgia that caused us, watching them was enough to remember how much we liked it, especially the opening, and the iconic characters.

    Fue una serie trasmitida en Hispanoamérica en el año 1995, por el canal FOX KIDS, causo mucho furor en la mayoría de los televidentes, era yo una niña, pero la recuerdo muy bien, hablábamos de ella casi todo el tiempo, por lo entretenida que era, por el miedo que daba, pero a su vez por la valentía que nos transmitían, porque eran niños quienes se enfrentaban a todos esos eventos paranormales, claro podría decir que en la mayoría de los capítulos, el misterio quedaba sin resolver, pero siempre dejando a los niños con vida 😄 y que de una forma u otra logran adquirir más importancia en su vida de la que ya tenían.

    It was a series transmitted in Hispanoamérica in the year 1995, by the channel FOX KIDS, it caused a lot of furor in the majority of the viewers, I was a child, but I remember it very well, we talked about it almost all the time, because of how entertaining it was, because of the fear that it gave, but at the same time for the courage that was transmitted to us, because it was children who faced all those paranormal events, of course I could say that in most of the chapters, the mystery remained unsolved, but always leaving the children alive 😄 and that in one way or another they manage to acquire more importance in their lives than they already had.

     Estos fueron los cuatro capítulos que mas me gustaron, también hubieron otros donde regresaron la mascara y el muñeco, que también fueron buenos; fue una excelente serie, con unos capítulos mas interesantes que otros, pero nada aburrida, lastima que solo producción cuatro temporadas, lo bueno que tenemos la oportunidad de seguirla viendo en distintos servicios de streaming y mas en estas fechas donde buscando todo lo relacionado con el Halloween para ver.

    Así como escalofríos hubieron otras series de terror que formaron parte de nuestra niñez, generando en nosotros distintas emociones que compartir con nuestros amigos, temas de conversación, debates y hasta la duda si algo así podría pasar en la vida real.

     These were the four chapters that I liked the most, there were also others where the mask and the doll returned, which were also good; it was an excellent series, with some chapters more interesting than others, but nothing boring, too bad it only produced four seasons, the good thing that we have the opportunity to continue watching it in different streaming services and more on these dates where looking for everything related to Halloween to see.

    As well as chills, there were other horror series that were part of our childhood, generating in us different emotions to share with our friends, topics of conversation, debates and even the doubt if something like this could happen in real life.
