  1. Hachi: A Dog's Tale@claudio831873d

ENG Hachi is a very intense and moving film that tells of the deep connection between a dog and its owner. The dog in question is an akita, a very particular breed with a great personality and I can say I know him quite well because he is also the dog that owns my brother. They are not immediately very affectionate, in fact I would say that they are rather suspicious, but then they tend to bond a lot, although it is never so joyful towards you. It is a very loyal and faithful dog and tends to protect you from danger or threats.

ENG In the film the protagonist finds the Akita puppy in the street and decides to look after him. He discovers that he is an unusual dog who does not like to play ball for example because he does not like to be treated like a small child. The fidelity of Hachiko, the name of the dog in the film, is demonstrated by the fact that every morning he accompanies his master to the station to take the train and every afternoon he returns to the station to accompany him home. When the professor dies, Hachiko will continue in his memory to walk the same stretch every day, until the age also advances for him and he will die.

ENG The film is based on a true story and is a dramatic film that breaks your heart, even to those who do not particularly love animals. Everything is described with love and it is clear that the subject of the film, namely the dog, is the value of the film itself, as well as the key to its success. Personally I saw the film at the cinema and I can assure you that there was no user who did not leave the room with a handkerchief in his hand. The story is told with sweetness, the images are always well focused and the musical accompaniment is always delicate.

ENG I find Richard Gere a very good actor and he has confirmed that he is. I don't think he had any more difficulty in falling in love with Hachiko, the dog is too tender and loving not to be able to love him. History is an example of friendship and respect between man and animal that is rare to see among men. I advise everyone to watch it because it is a life lesson.

  2. Hachi: A Dog's Tale (film): A tear jerker even if you know the ending@gooddream2557d

I think it would be a good idea to watch this movie with someone that doesn't already know the story of the real Hachi and see what their reaction is.

Very loosely based on the real-life story of Japanese dog Hachiko, they did about as well a job as you can expect turning this Japanese story into something that happens in, I think, Rhode Island between Richard Gere and a Achi puppy that he accidentally ends up owning and at first, doesn't even want.

This movie, like most movies in that span of 10 years, managed to pass me by without me even knowing about its existence. Although its modest income wouldn't exactly be considered blockbuster numbers it did make a respectable 30 million dollars overall.

Some people complained that the movie kind of dragged on but to be fair, I am sure that this film, which can basically be summed up in a 200 word article with a few photos, is a bit difficult to turn into a 90 minute film. I think they probably would have struggled with a script for that.

I dont think there is a way to watch this film not already knowing the ending since the trailer and the few advertising materials I could find kind of give away the ending but I suppose that isn't really the point. I normally don't like it when films ideas are taken from other countries and remade in the USA but I can understand, financially, why they do so. I watched all of this film and got misty-eyed at multiple points.

If you like dogs like I do, I think you would enjoy this one, even if you already know what is going to happen.
