Hello dear community of @MoviestvShows a greeting to all, happy day, I come for today to talk to you about a witch movie, since this week will be celebrating Halloween, I said let's talk about some category for them, although I'm not to watch horror movies, they really scare me a little, this guy I liked and it was passable for it.
For those who do not know Abracadabra or also known as The Return of the Witches, is the story of three sisters Winnie, Mary and Sarah Sanderson, also known as the Sanderson sisters, witches, as they were dedicated to spells, devote their magic to the dark and do evil, however, they had something worse than that, capture children to fulfill their greatest goal, always stay young, at any cost, regardless of the fear and horror that could generate in their lives.
Certainly something macabre for any era, so eliminating them was the best thing to do, but do you think that witches like that could be eliminated so easily? On the other hand, its second installment which took some time, but I must say that it is good anyway, as we will see again these sisters doing their thing, with some more comedy, and understanding more of their history as they became witches and what was the reason to continue this life, of course not justifying the environment or the chaos they brought as a result of it, but if another side of this trio that was not seen in the first, and gives to understand more of their personalities, which makes it emotional and a different view to what could be detailed in the first film.
It is a story in which what you least believe can happen, will be young people who will have to fight with them and give rise to the situation that lies ahead because adults do not believe they have returned, well something understandable, when you grow up things begin to lose belief, however, when you are young even tell you that they saw a cow flying and one can put believe it, that's where the magic, belief, imagination will play an important role in this type of film, as well as the adventure of only a few young girls in ending something that is believed impossible that can exist.

Para que no la conocen Abracadabra o también conocida como El retorno de las brujas, es la historia de tres hermanas Winnie, Mary y Sarah Sanderson, o también conocidas como las hermanas Sanderson, unas brujas, ya que se dedicaban a hechizos, dedicarle su magia al oscuro y hacer maldades, sin embargo, tenían algo peor que ello, capturar a niños para cumplir su mayor objetivo, permanecer siempre jóvenes., al costo que fuese, sin importar el miedo y horror que pudiesen generar en su vida.
Ciertamente algo macabro para cualquier época, por lo que eliminarlas era lo mejor, pero ¿Creen que unas brujas así se podrían eliminar tan fácilmente? Ps la respuesta en su primera entrega, nos hace ver que no sería tan fácil con ellas, la idea de permanecer en el mundo y hacer sus maldades era más fuerte que ello, es ahí cuando unos niños se unen para salvar su pueblo de las presencia de estas brujas y evitar que sigan eliminando a los suyos, por lo que la persecución será interesante y bien espeluznante para una noche de cacería de brujas, aunque para otros fuese solo una noche de vestir como otras especies, monstruos que caminan por una noche en la tierra y hacen travesuras o piden dulces, lo que es interesante para los niños.
Por otro lado, su segunda entrega la cual tardo algo, pero debo decir que es buena de igual manera, ya que veremos de nuevo estas hermanas haciendo de las suyas, con algo más de comedia, y entendiendo más su historia como se convirtieron en brujas y cuál fue la razón para continuar esta vida, claro no justificando el medio ni el caos que trajeron a raíz de ello, pero si otro lado de este trio que no se vio en la primera, y da a comprender más sus personalidades, lo cual lo vuelve emotivo y una vista diferente a lo que se pudo detallar en la primera película.
Es una historia en que lo que menos crees puede suceder, serán jóvenes que tendrán que luchar con ellas y darle pie a la situación que se avecina ya que los adultos no creen que hayan regresado, bueno algo compresible, cuando uno crece las cosas comienzan a perder creencia, sin embargo, cuando se está jóvenes hasta te dicen que vieron una vaca volando y uno lo puede poner creer, es ahí donde la magia, la creencia, la imaginación jugaran un papel importante en este tipo de película., así como la aventura de solo unos jovencitas en acabar con algo que se cree imposible que pueda existir.

To close this Halloween, I want to give my opinion on a movie that I loved as a child and that I still enjoy a lot. Hocus Pocus is a story of comedy, fantasy and some terror that was very successful for being the perfect horror suitable for children.
I will give some spoilers, and I clarify that I will only talk about the first movie.
This story begins a very long time ago, specifically in the year 1693 in Salem. At the time, as you can imagine, there was a witch hunt, so any strange behavior was considered very suspicious. However, that malice only comes from adults, because little girls like Emily only see goodness in people. So when she followed the old lady into the forest she did not do it thinking anything bad about it. Her brother Thackery Binx sees her enter the house of the three Sanderson sisters, powerful witches who intended to cast a spell to take away the girl's youth to have her for themselves, something that Emily would not survive. Binx fails to rescue her and the witches turn him into an immortal black cat, so that he suffers from living with the guilt of not saving his little sister. Then the townspeople discover that both children disappeared because of the witches, whom they manage to capture and sentence to death. But before they die, Winifred casts a spell to revive them if someone lights a black-flame candle on the full moon on All Saints' Eve.

Not all horror for children is scary and it is not a surprise
I've seen a lot of adults say that this movie is terrible because it's not scary and it's so absurd, as if that makes it too bad to be appreciated. I have to say that it certainly is an absurd comedy and no, it's not scary. But they seem to forget that it's a children's movie. It's not made to please adults by generating real fear; it's made to entertain a very young audience that doesn't need super elaborate humor to have fun. What comedy for children is elaborate? And if there is one, I can assure you that those jokes for young children go unnoticed. On the other hand, you don't want to scare children with movies that they're supposed to enjoy. What's the point of making something for children who won't be able to watch it because it's too scary for them? To me that would be absurd.
Taking both of those things into account, for me this movie did a good job of keeping it simple, light, and just weird or spooky enough to induce an interest in horror themes in kids, which wasn't the first time that was done. Of course there are plenty of stories like this that are a lot more explicit than this one, bordering on true horror. But this is a Disney movie, so it shouldn't be surprising that they didn't take too many risks, even back then.
However, it does have several classic horror elements, such as witches, a black cat under a spell, the Halloween night, rituals, a magical book... These are basic things that work well for this type of plot. Then there is the comedy, which, while not at the level of films like Beetlejuice or The Addams Family, is still pretty decent. I insist, it is a children's film, and contrary to the popular opinion, I believe that it is not always necessary to make something with a deep meaning for it to be good, so if the story is simply made to entertain, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Sometimes less is more.
On the other hand, there are certain songs in the plot that are really good. It's not a musical, but somehow they fit well with the story. I particularly loved Come Little Children, the one sung by Sarah. As the title shows, it's perfect for its purpose, almost hypnotizing, haunting and worthy of being sung by a witch who intends to attract victims for her spell.
Then there's the aesthetic part, since the movie is Halloween-themed, the costumes and settings in general are perfect. Everything is what you would imagine it would be, the witches with their typical brooms and long clothes, the tradition of trick-or-treating with children in costumes, the haunted cottage, the autumn atmosphere of the time of year. Everything fits together.
So for me this is a good movie for a child who is starting to like things that have something to do with horror but that remain light. For an adult, it's not a bad option if they want something simple to entertain themselves, although if you watched it as a child like me, it will surely make you feel quite nostalgic.

Como para cerrar este Halloween quiero comentar mi opinión sobre una película que adoraba de pequeña y que aún disfruto mucho. Hocus Pocus o en su traducción Abracadabra es una historia de comedia, fantasía y algo de terror que tuvo mucho éxito por ser el perfecto terror apto para niños.
Daré algunos spoilers, y aclaro que solamente hablaré de la primera entrega.
Esta historia comienza mucho tiempo atrás, concretamente en el año 1693 en Salem. Para la época como ya imaginarás había una cacería de brujas por lo que cualquier actitud extraña era muy sospechosa. Sin embargo, esa malicia es sólo de los adultos, porque niñas como Emily solo ven la bondad. Así que cuando siguió a la anciana al bosque no lo hizo pensando nada malo. Su hermano Thackery Binx la ve entrar en la casa de las tres hermanas Sanderson, unas poderosas brujas, quienes pretendían hacer un hechizo para quitarle la juventud a la niña para tenerla ellas, cosa a la que Emily no sobreviviría. Binx no logra rescatarla y las brujas lo convierten en un gato negro inmortal, para que sufra al vivir con la culpa. Luego la gente del pueblo descubre que ambos niños desaparecieron por culpa de las brujas, a quienes logran capturar y sentenciar a la muerte. No todo el terror para niños da miedo y no es sorpresa
He visto a muchas personas adultas decir que esta película es terrible porque no da miedo y es muy absurda, como si eso la hiciera demasiado mala como para ser apreciada. He de decir que ciertamente es comedia absurda y no, no da miedo. Pero parece ser que se olvidan que es una película infantil. No está hecha para complacer a los adultos generando miedo real; estuvo hecha para entretener a una audiencia joven que no necesita un humor súper elaborado para divertirse. ¿Qué comedia para niños es elaborada? Y si hay alguna les puedo asegurar que esas bromas para los niños pequeños pasan desapercibidas. Por otro lado, no van a querer espantar a niños con películas que se supone que deben disfrutar. ¿Cuál es el punto de hacer algo para niños que no van a poder verlo porque les dará miedo? Para mí eso sería un despropósito.
Teniendo ambas cosas en cuenta, para mí en esta película hicieron un buen trabajo en mantenerla simple, ligera, y lo suficientemente rara o tenebrosa como para inducir un interés en los niños en temáticas de terror, lo cual no era la primera vez que se hacía. Por supuesto hay muchas historias así que son bastante más explícitas que esta, rozando muy de cerca el terror verdadero. Pero esta es una película de Disney, por lo que no debería sorprender que no se arriesgaran demasiado, ni siquiera en aquella época.
Sin embargo, tiene varios elementos clásicos del terror, como las brujas, el gato negro que tiene un hechizo, la noche de Halloween, rituales, un libro mágico...Son cosas básicas que funcionan bien para este tipo de tramas. Además está la comedia que si bien no llega al nivel de películas como Beetlejuice o Los Locos Addams, sigue estando bastante decente. Insisto, es una película infantil, muy por el contrario a la opinión popular considero que no es siempre necesario hacer algo con un significado profundo para que sea bueno, por lo que si la historia está hecha simplemente para entretener, eso no tiene absolutamente nada de malo. A veces menos es más.
Por otro lado, hay ciertas canciones en la trama que realmente son buenas. No es un musical, pero de alguna forma encajan bien con la historia. Me encantaba en particular Come Little Children, la que canta Sarah. Es perfecta para su propósito, casi hipnotizante y digna de ser cantada por una bruja que pretende atraer víctimas para su conjuro.
Además está la parte estética que al ser la película con temática de Halloween, lo que es vestuario y escenarios en general son perfectos. Todo es lo que te podrías imaginar que sería, las brujas con sus típicas escobas y atuendos largos, la tradición del Dulce o truco con niños disfrazados, la cabaña embrujada, la atmósfera otoñal de la época del año. Todo va en concordancia.
Así que para mí esta es una buena película para un niño que le comienzan a agradar cosas que tengan algo que ver con el terror pero que sigan siendo ligeras. Para un adulto tampoco es mala opción si quiere algo simple para entretenerse, aunque si llegaste a verla de pequeño como en mi caso, seguramente te dará bastante nostalgia.

Plot / Trama
At the beginning the film takes us to 1693, where the sisters Winnifred, Mary and Sarah are accused of witchcraft since they kill a girl named Emily in the process of absorbing her youth and her brother named Thackery Binx confronts them but he is turned into a immortal black cat for them. Thanks to this, the whole town accuses them of witchcraft and hangs them but before dying, Winifred casts a spell in which if any person who was a virgin lights the candle with the black flame they would come back to life one night with a full moon Halloween so the Binx cat becomes the guardian of the cabin where the witches lived and where the black flame candle and the spell book are to prevent the sisters from being summoned.

Many years later in 1993 they are accidentally invoked by Max Dennison, who together with his little sister Dani visited the cabin which now works as a museum since they meet Alisson, whose family is the caretaker of the cabin. The witches are resurrected, with their plans to suck the life out of all the children to stay alive and they want to start with Dani, Max and Allison but they manage to escape with the spell book at the request of Binx the cat. Winnifred resurrects her cheating boyfriend who was caught cheating on Sarah so he can go after the kids. The sisters try to get used to the present while putting their plan in motion so they don't disintegrate the next morning. They arrive on their brooms at the house of a man whose daughters disguised as witches steal their brooms without them noticing, so when they try to escape they have problems.
Muchos años después en 1993 accidentalmente son invocadas por Max Dennison, el cual junto a su hermanita Dani visitaron la cabaña la cual ahora funcionaba como un museo ya que se encuentran con Alisson, cuya familia es la cuidadora de la cabaña. Las brujas resucitan, con sus planes de succionar la vida de todos los niños para mantenerse con vida y quieren empezar con Dani, Max y Allison pero ellos logran escapar con el libro de hechizos a petición de Binx el gato. The boys go to school and there they prepare an oven to burn them alive but although they are successful they come back to life minutes later and kidnap Max and Binx after Max and Akuson open the spell book, Max goes in search of his little sister and On the way he meets the zombie who joins him against the witches. When the witches try to steal Dani's energy, they all try to defend her but in the process Binx is mortally wounded. To save Dani, Max takes the spell potion but before the witches can steal her life energy, the sun rises and the sisters disintegrate. Billy returns to his grave and Binx dies freeing his soul, for which he thanks the 3 children for his help. Emily shows up and they both leave together.
Los chicos van a la escuela y allí preparan un horno para quemarlas vivas pero aunque tienen éxito ellas vuelven a resucitar minutos después y secuestran a Max y a Binx luego de que Max y Akuson abrieran el libro de hechizos, Max va en búsqueda de su hermanita y en el camino se consigue con el zombie el cual se le úne en contra de las brujas. Cuando las brujas intentan robar la energía de Dani, todos intentan defenderla pero en el proceso Binx es herido de muerte. Para salvar a Dani, Max toma la poción del hechizo pero antes de que las brujas pudieran robar su energía vital sale el sol y las hermanas se desintegran. Billy regresa a su tumba y Binx muere liberando su alma, por lo que le agradece a los 3 niños su ayuda. Emily aparece y ambos se van juntos.
My Opinion / Mi Opinión
This movie is one of my favorites of Halloween, I saw it for the first time when I was a girl with my mom and I really enjoyed it, I really like to see it in this Halloween season and this year I liked that they released a sequel. I will start by talking about the great performances of the cast, especially Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, which gave the film an incredible touch, since even though the witches are evil, they are quite comical and make the film quite entertaining. Other characters that I really liked are Dani, Billy Hutcherson and Binx the cat, which in my opinion are excellent and also add a great touch to the film.
Esta película es una de mis favoritas de Halloween, la ví por primera vez cuando era una niña con mi mamá y vaya que la disfruté, me gusta mucho verla en esta temporada de Halloween y este año me gustó que sacaran una secuela. Empezaré hablando de las grandes actuaciones del elenco en especial de Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker y Kathy Najimy las cuales les dieron un toque increible a la película ya que a pesar de que las brujas son malvadas, son bastante cómicas y hacen que la película sea bastante entretenida. Otros personajes que me gustaron mucho son los de Dani, Billy Hutcherson y Binx el gato los cuales en mi opinión son excelentes y también le dan un gran toque a la película.
The photography and setting of the film are also quite good and there are many scenes that are quite comical, especially in the one where, due to lack of brooms, the witches decide to blow one up with a vacuum cleaner and another with a mop. It is one of the scenes that made me laugh the most and I really liked that they recreated it in the sequel, also the behavior of the witches in the scenes where they catch the teenagers who bother Max and Dani made me laugh a lot. The special effects is also something that I really liked because for the time, in my opinion they seemed quite realistic and they also give a great touch to the movie, which in general terms seemed like a great movie to me and it is a great pity that did not have the value it deserved at its premiere. I confess that at first I thought the movie was going to scare me, that's why I invited my mom to see it, but in the end I thought it was very funny.
La fotografía y ambientación de la película también son bastante buenas y hay muchas escenas son bastante cómicas en especial en la que por falta de escobas las brujas deciden volar una con una aspiradora y otra con un trapeador. Es una de las escenas que más risa me dió y me gustó mucho que la recrearan en la secuela, también el comportamiento de las brujas en las escenas en las que atrapan a los adolescentes que molestan a Max y a Dani me hizo reir mucho. Los efectos especiales también es algo que me gustó mucho ya que para la época, en mi opinión me parecieron bastante realistas y también le dan un gran toque a la pelicula, la cual en términos generales me pareció una gran película y es una gran pena que no haya tenido el valor que se merecía en su estreno. Confieso que al principio pensaba que la película me iba a dar miedo por eso invité a mi mamá a verla pero, al final me pareció muy divertida.
The soundtrack is another thing to admire in the film, not only the score in general but also the version of "I Put A Spell On You" performed by the witches, it is one of my favorite soundtracks. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to also compete with this film since it is one of my favorites of this season, I had the opportunity to enjoy it again this week and it still seems as entertaining and great as ever, it is a film that ages like the wine and I want to recommend it to all those who have not seen it yet, I assure you that you will not regret it since not only the first part is good, but also the second, but in my opinion this is the best.
El soundtrack es otra cosa de admirar en la película, no solamente el score en general sino también la versión de "I Put A Spell On You" que interpretan las brujas, es una de mis bandas sonoras favoritas. No podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de concursar también con esta película ya que es una de mis favoritas de esta temporada, tuve la oportunidad de disfrutarla de nuevo esta semana y me sigue pareciendo igual de entretenida y genial que siempre, es una película que envejece como el vino y se la quiero recomendar a todos los que aún no la hayan visto, les aseguro que no se van a arrepentir ya que no solamente la primera parte es buena, la segunda también pero, en mi opinión esta es la mejor.

I have been slowly getting into the Halloween aesthetic alongside the seemingly rapid arrival of October 31st, alongside the community contest that is currently running. I started off watching through American Horror Story which I have been enjoying, but felt like watching something a little less serious, more fun and relaxed that still pertains to the Halloween holiday.
I noticed recently that there was a sequel from the now very much soulless Disney for the 1993 Hocus Pocus film, which I don't actually remember watching at all. I found this surprising given over the years I have often roamed through various film lists and libraries in search of all kinds of fun both serious and not as serious Halloween related films. For some reason, Hocus Pocus has been a film that somehow I have overlooked. I don't recall ever seeing it, even in my childhood. Though I'm sure I did, I am still surprised that the film did not come to my attention before in the past as I searched and searched to keep the Halloween viewing month seem fresh.
While I do not suspect I'll ever watch the most recent sequel to the 1993 film, I did decide to finally check it out. Being reminded of a more simple time from both Disney and Hollywood when it came to making cheap but enjoyable family films. Hocus Pocus is far from being a good film, but it is one that certainly gets you into the Halloween mood with its various themes of witches, zombies, and of course Halloween night setting. That alone makes it worthy of checking out over the month. Looking back at when Disney did make films for the family, ones void of agendas and with entertainment in mind.
Hocus Pocus
Hocus Pocus starts off with three witches from Salem being sentenced to death for their witchcraft, though making the promise that one day they shall return once again under certain conditions. Fast-forward to 1993 and we have a teenager from Los Angeles that just moved into the area, somewhat lost in the new location and not quite fitting in. Made evident when he meets two other teen locals on the area which are incredible stereotypes of the era with its heavy Metallica and Vanilla Ice influences. As hip-hop and metal were the two hot things among the youth, and of course spawning an entire generation of corporations attempting to act cool and fit in in efforts to market themselves towards the youth. Though these stereotypical characters appear to be displayed in a more self-aware manner which made their introductions less serious, and less threatening as it is made clear the two are to be considered the local bullies.
Well, it's Halloween night and our protagonist hailing from Los Angeles is out with his younger sister trick-or-treating, and he's desperate to impress a local girl he has a crush on. Teenagers being teenagers, he does something stupid in efforts to act cool, taking the two to the now museum in which served as the home of the witches. The conditions align and the result is the revival of the three witches which are then plagued with a game of cat-and-mouse as they chase the kids around with hopes of obtaining their spell book again which can grant them life after the Halloween night is over.
It is a pretty simple narrative and one that isn't all surprising given the decade of Disney's family film creations. Ones in which the budgets were often small and their runtimes followed, often barely clocking in at 90 minutes. It feels as if half of the film is focused on the mere setup of the revival of the witches and just mere context regarding the location, lifestyle of our protagonist, and the Halloween night and its aesthetic. I don't consider this to be a negative, however, it does a nice job at getting you into the mood for Halloween and of course being successful in creating an atmosphere around it. Through a nice use of visuals that despite with a relatively small budget, do a great job in looking pleasing. Shot in 1993, it certainly does look like a very different world, one more empty, slower paced, but full of life and community. Additional immersion coming from the fact that things do feel less modern, with no smartphones and still being the very early days of the Internet.
The world it builds is visually pleasing. Full of Halloween colours and locations. Graveyards, spooky looking houses. The more relaxed look of Salem which is quieter and certainly different to our protagonist's prior Los Angeles setting. Some use of sets and interiors for outdoor locations but for the most part looking rather authentic in exterior settings. The good use of both makes the film feel less cheap, even if the acting isn't all that great in parts. Though we don't watch Disney films for the great visuals or acting, do we? At its core Hocus Pocus is a Halloween family film, one that contains character development and humour that matches various age groups; particularly evident in scenes that reference our protagonist being a virgin, or the pointy-breasted Madonna costume the mother is wearing. I can't really see Disney having the guts to do something like this today, and this also contributes to the film seeming like it was shit in a completely different time and place. I like it for this, however. It is cheap, somewhat poor in parts, but good for the time it came out. These more adult undertones don't quite feel like undertones in parts and are quite direct, though the younger viewers probably won't catch them.
The narrative as it slowly unfolds does seem to have more focus, but for the most part Hocus Pocus really is just a film about three silly and foolish witches seeming harmful but generally being quite wholesome due to their stupidity as they chase after kids through the modern streets on Halloween. Their interactions with the world display their more wholesome and silly nature as they somehow interact with the modern world and discover the many changes it now holds to their era. The three witches almost having a Three Stooges appearance. The way it is done isn't bad at all, and definitely puts Disney's more modern releases to shame in pretty much every other aspect. Which brings me to the next stage of this review of Hocus Pocus: the family adventure.
The Family Adventure
The family adventure genre died in the later end of the first decade into the millennium, as the idea of a blockbuster completely changed as superhero films grew into popularity and the big film production companies in Hollywood looked to maximise profit. The idea of the family film quickly changed and withered away in favour for nostalgia and known franchises, throwing out reboot and remake and sequel until to no surprise the film industry began to crumble and fatigue settled into audiences. All alongside the rise of streaming giants which placed families at the heart of their living rooms and bedrooms with all the (relatively shallow) content they could (definitely wish they had more to) watch. Content made specifically for the individual age groups now and less for the entire family to view together, each with something for them all to enjoy.
Hocus Pocus may not be an amazing film, but it is a glimpse at the era of films made for the family to enjoy. Showing us a glimpse of a more simple time where technology did not use us like cattle, telling us what to watch and how to enjoy it. Hocus Pocus is one of the family films that aimed to bring us all together over the Halloween holiday and enjoy the atmosphere together regardless of age and interest. To remind us of connection, family and friendships. Showing us the simple life of a teenager who only really wants to just have a healthy relationship with a girl he has a crush on. It shows the simple life and mind of the youth. One void of political influence telling them how to act and what to think. A story void of agendas as the production company at the time had less idea of how to profit from their creations without algorithms and ESG influencing direction.
For these reasons I can recommend the film. But perhaps skip the recent sequel, though.

Hola, mis queridos amigos amantes del cine, debido a que afortunadamente tenemos la libertad de participar cuantas veces queramos en el concurso de @Movies&TVShow, quise hacerlo esta vez con un análisis de una película que tuve mucho miedo de ver, y el miedo no se debía precisamente a que fuese aterradora, sino porque últimamente Disney (en un intento por seguir las nuevas tendencias) me ha decepcionado terriblemente con sus decisiones, así que debo confesar que mi hermana y yo vimos esta película con miedo y predispuestas a la decepción, sin embargo, y aunque mi hermana no quedo completamente convencida, yo debo decirles que quedé absolutamente maravillada y satisfecha con lo que vi, me refiero desde luego a Abracadabra 2.
Becca and Izzy, a couple of teenagers who like magic, are used to make a symbolic birthday ritual, but this time, Cassie (another of their friends) did not accompany them because lately she was very far away from them, the girls arrived at the magic shop in town to buy what they need for the ritual, However, Gilbert (the shop owner) manages to trick the girls into lighting a new black candle to bring the Sanderson sisters back, as he has admired them since he saw them 29 years ago, in 1993. Así que las brujas regresan oficialmente y en esta ocasión Winifred intentará hacer el hechizo Magicae Maxima que le otorgará poder absoluto, aunque sinceramente ella debió leer la advertencia del libro mágico primero, así que por causa de no hacerlo habrá una consecuencia insoportable para ella, lo cual la hará arrepentirse de su egoísta decisión.

My opinion/Mi opinión
This film is absolutely packed with elements for which I liked it, but chief among them is the acting of the main characters. Some of you may know this and some of you may not, but I took theatre classes a few years ago, so when I watch movies or any TV show, my attention goes immediately to the acting value of the actors, so I appreciated the fact that the Sanderson sisters, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy did not lose the grace and charm that makes them special, they played their characters with the same freshness they had twenty-nine years ago, applying a style that in theatre is called "Clown", it's about taking your own personal elements, your own essence as a person and applying them to your character in a humorous way, like in Winifred's scene when she snatches the prize for the best costume of the Sanderson sisters from the winners, alluding that she and her sisters were the originals, haha and we all know how jealous Bette Midler is in real life with her character, so much so that on one occasion she spoke out against a supposed remake for television that was going to be released.
Esta película está absolutamente repleta de elementos por los cuales me gustó, pero el principal de ellos es la actuación de los personajes principales. Alguno de ustedes quizá lo sepa y tal vez otros no, pero recibí clases de teatro hace algunos años, por lo tanto cuando veo películas o algún programa de televisión, mi atención se va inmediatamente al valor interpretativo de los actores, por lo tanto aprecié el hecho de que las hermanas Sanderson, interpretadas por Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler y Kathy Najimy no perdieran la gracia y el encanto que las hace especiales, interpretaron a sus personajes con la misma frescura de hace veintinueve años, aplicando un estilo que en teatro se denomina Clown, se trata de tomar tus propios elementos personales, tu propia esencia como persona y aplicarlas a tu personaje de forma humorística, como en la escena de Winifred cuando le arrebata el premio al mejor disfraz de las hermanas Sanderson a las ganadoras, aludiendo a que ella y sus hermanas eran las originales, jaja y todos sabemos lo celosa que es Bette Midler en la vida real con su personaje, tanto que en una ocasión se pronunció en contra de un supuesto remake para televisión que iban a sacar.
Another aspect I liked about the film is the fact that the Sandersons have been given an origin, we finally know that the book of spells was not given to them by the devil himself, as it was said in the first film, but by a powerful witch, the only one left of their clan, and if that wasn't enough we also discover that Bill, Winifred's supposed lover, was no such thing. I must also add that I loved the way the three girls played Sarah, Mery and Winifred, their facial expressions and body language were very reminiscent of their adult alter egos, they had the power and acting strength that credited them as the little Sanderson sisters.
Otro de los aspectos que me gustó de la película es el hecho de que les hayan dado un origen a las Sanderson, por fin sabemos que el libro de hechizos no les fue conferido por el mismo diablo, como se había dicho en la primera película, sino que se los otorgó una bruja poderosa, la única que quedaba de su clan, y por si fuera poco también descubrimos que Bill, el supuesto amante de Winifred no era tal cosa. Debo añadir además que me encantó la forma en que las tres niñas interpretaron a Sarah, Mery y Winifred, sus expresiones faciales y su lenguaje corporal recordaron muchísimo a sus alter egos adultos, tuvieron el poder y la fuerza interpretativa que las acreditó como las pequeñas hermanas Sanderson.
I also loved the great connection between this film and the previous film, all the time references are made about it, like Gilbert claiming to have seen the Sanderson sisters flying twenty nine years ago when they returned, I could also notice that many of the costumes worn by the people of Salem made reference to the previous film, like a woman dressed as Madonna, as Max and Dani's mother, another man dressed as the zombie Billy, and there is also a scene where the witches look through the window of a house and the TV is showing a particularly funny scene from the previous film, and I even saw a man and a woman dressed as the couple in that scene. The only thing I didn't understand is the fact that the sisters' old house, which twenty-nine years ago was a museum (logical since it was a historic house), became a magic shop in this sequel.
También amé la gran conexión que hay entre esta película y la anterior, en todo momento se hacen referencias sobre ella, como Gilbert que afirmó haber visto a las hermanas Sanderson volando hace veintinueve años cuando ellas regresaron, también pude notar que muchos de los disfraces que llevaba la gente de Salem hacían referencia a la película anterior, como una mujer vestida de Madona, como la madre de Max y Dani, otro hombre vestido como el zombi Billy, además, también hay una escena donde las brujas miran a través de la ventana de una casa y el televisor está transmitiendo una escena particularmente graciosa de la anterior película, incluso también vi a un hombre y a una mujer vestidos como la pareja que aparece en esa escena. Lo único que no entendí es el hecho de como la antigua casa de las hermanas que hace veintinueve años era un museo (algo lógico debido a que era una casa histórica) pasó a ser una tienda de magia en esta secuela.
As for the book I was shocked in the good sense of the word by the amount of expressions they added, in the first film the book was manipulated by remote control and this time by CGI which allowed the team more freedom in representing the emotions of this object, despite having only one eye, we could notice when he was sad or scared.
En cuanto al libro yo quedé impactada en el buen sentido de la palabra por la cantidad de expresiones que les añadieron, en la primera película el libro fue manipulado por control remoto y en esta ocasión por CGI lo que le permitió al equipo mayor libertad a la hora de representar las emociones de este objeto, a pesar de tener solo un ojo, podíamos notar cuando estaba triste o asustado.
As for favourite scenes, I think mine is when the sisters enter the pharmacy, I like it because we can see their particular way of tracking the children, walking in zig zag (it's really funny 🤣) and also because we can see how the Sandersons have the opportunity to interact again with recent technology, just like when they came back last time in 1993.
En cuanto a escenas favoritas, creo que la mía es cuando las hermanas entran en la farmacia, me gusta porque podemos ver su particular manera de rastrear a los niños, caminando en zig zag (es de verdad muy gracioso 🤣) y además porque podemos ver como las Sanderson tienen la oportunidad de interactuar nuevamente con la tecnología reciente, tal como cuando regresaron la última vez en 1993.
I like the distinct personalities of the Sanderson sisters, it is inevitable not to compare this trio with "The Three Stooges" 🤣 😂 but yes, the Sandersons have their own style. Winifred (my favourite) is the leader of her sisters, cunning, haughty, despot, Mary is a bit innocent, very dependent on her older sister but she knows very well how to take advantage of her ability to track children through her sense of smell, and finally Sarah, is a mix between naivety and sensuality but what makes me laugh the most about her is that sometimes she takes her naivety to the point of being really stupid.
Me gustan las personalidades tan marcadas de las hermanas Sanderson, es inevitable no comparar a este trio con "Los Tres Chiflados" 🤣 😂 pero eso sí, las Sanderson tienen su propio estilo. Winifred (mi favorita) es la líder de sus hermanas, astuta, altanera, déspota, Mary es un poco inocente, muy dependiente de su hermana mayor pero sabe muy bien como aprovecharse de su habilidad para rastrear niños a través de su olfato, y finalmente Sarah, es una mezcla entre ingenuidad y sensualidad pero lo que más me da risa de ella es que a veces lleva su ingenuidad hasta el punto de resultar realmente estúpida.
And finally one of the things I liked the most was the soundtrack, highlighting the song "The Witches Are Back" as they really touched the heart of the fans by appealing to nostalgia, I felt a great emotion to see them back.
Y finalmente una de las cosas que más me gustó fue la banda sonora, destacando la canción "The Witches Are Back" ya que de verdad tocaron el corazón de los fans apelando a la nostalgia, sentí una gran emoción al verlas de vuelta.
But of course I can't stop saying how much I loved that they included a version of "One way or another" in the best Sanderson style, it's the best song for them and they used it at the best moment, to cast a spell on the townspeople to help them look for the mayor, I really can't think of a better song than this for that moment because after all the Sandersons are stalkers, plus I loved the adaptation of the lyrics.
Pero desde luego no puedo dejar de decir lo mucho que amé que hayan incluido una versión de "One way or another" al mejor estilo de las Sanderson, es la mejor canción para ellas y la utilizaron en el mejor momento, para hechizar a las personas del pueblo para que las ayudara a buscar al alcalde, de verdad no se me ocurre una mejor canción que esta para ese momento porque después de todo las Sanderson son acosadoras, además adoré la adaptación de la letra.

Espero estén bien, hoy me quiero sumar a este interesante concurso de nuestros amigos de @cinetv y hablarles de una pelicula que para mí representa el otoño, ya que como sabemos Halloween es una festividad que se celebra durante esta hermosa estación escogí una de mis peliculas favoritas: Hocus Pocus de Disney, espero les guste.
I chose this movie because Halloween is one of my favorite fall holidays, and this movie made my Halloween quite fun. It was released in 1993 by Walt Disney Pictures and stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, it is about 3 witch sisters who, before they were sentenced to hang for the murder of 2 brothers, cast a spell so that they could be revived through the dark-flame candle which must be lit by a virgin on Halloween inside the witches' hut.
Escogí esta pelicula porque Halloween es una de mis festividades favoritas del otoño, y esta pelicula hacía mis halloween bastante divertidas. Fué lanzada en 1993 por Walt Disney Pictures y está protagonizada por Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker y Kathy Najimy, trata sobre 3 hermanas brujas que antes de que fuesen condenadas a la ahorca por el asesinato de 2 hermanos, hicieron un hechizo para que pudieran ser revividas a través de la vela de llama oscura la cual debe ser encendida por una virgen en Halloween dentro de la cabaña de las brujas.
I really liked this movie because despite the fact that the main theme is terror, it has a great touch of comedy which I loved. The work of the actors in general is excellent, especially Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, who are the Sanderson Sisters, powerful witches who come back to life on Halloween, I would say they are my favorite characters because despite that they are evil are very funny especially Winifred.
Esta pelicula me gustó mucho ya que a pesar de que la temática principal es el terror, tiene un gran toque de comedia lo cual me encantó. El trabajo de los actores en general es excelente, en especial de Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker y Kathy Najimy las cuales son las Hermanas Sanderson unas poderosas brujas que regresan a la vida un Halloween, diría que son mis personajes favoritos ya que a pesar de que son malvadas son muy graciosas en especial Winifred.
What hurt me about the movie is that the witches have murdered a girl taking all her energy to maintain her youth, and that the girl's brother couldn't save her because the witches turn him into an immortal cat which he has to shoulder the blame for her sister's death. I liked the story in general of the film a lot, even though there are scenes that scare me a little like the one where the witches resurrect a former lover of Winifred who she poisoned to help them catch the children It also has many scenes that I like and make me laugh a lot, like the scene where the sisters fly and since there are no 3 brooms, Sarah flies out with a vacuum cleaner and Mary with a mop, which I really liked that they recreated in the sequel. Also the scene where the witches sings "I Put A Spell On You" I really liked.
Lo que me dolió de la película es que las brujas hayan asesinado a una niña tomando toda su energía para mantener su juventud, y que el hermano de la niña no la haya podido salvar porque las brujas lo convierten en un gato inmortal el cual tiene que cargar con la culpa de la muerte de su hermana. La historia en general de la película de gustó mucho, a pesar de que hay escenas que me dan un poco de miedo como en la que las brujas resucitan a un antiguo amante de Winifred el cual ella envenenó para que las ayude a atrapar a los niños, también tiene muchas escenas que me gustan y me hacen reir mucho como la escena en la que las hermanas vuelan y al no haber 3 escobas Sarah sale volando con una aspiradora y Mary con una mopa la cual me gustó mucho que recrearan en la secuela. También la escena en la que las brujas cantan "I Put A Spell On You" me gustó mucho.
The first time I saw this movie was with my mom and I was 5 years old, I remember that at first it scared me a little but then when it took away I enjoyed it laughing a lot, it is one of my favorite movies which we still like to enjoy in family during this time, it is one of the best movies that Disney has produced, it shows us that good always wins evil and it is one of the movies that despite being scary, make us laugh out loud. The performance of the protagonists was truly iconic, the photography in general is spectacular, also the special effects and the story in general. I want to recommend this movie to all those who haven't seen it yet since we are in the perfect time to enjoy this type of movies, I assure you that you will enjoy it.
La primera vez que ví esta pelicula fué con mi mamá y tenía 5 años, recuerdo que al principio me daba un poco de miedo pero luego cuando se me quitó la disfrutaba riéndome mucho, es una de mis peliculas favoritas la cual todavía nos gusta disfrutar en familia durante esta época, es una de las mejores películas que Disney ha producido, nos demuestra que el bien siempre vence el mal y es de las peliculas que a pesar de ser de miedo, nos hacen reír a carcajadas. La actuación de las protagonistas fué realmente icónica, la fotografía en general es espectacular, también los efectos especiales y la historia en general. Quiero recomendarles esta pelicula a todos los que todavía no la hayan visto ya que estamos en la época perfecta para disfrutar de este tipo de películas, les aseguro que la van a disfrutar.

The townspeople, along with Emily and Binx's parents, captured the witches and hanged them, but before one of them died, she cast a spell saying that every Halloween eve during the full moon, if a person Virgin came to light the candle with a black flame that was in the cabin, she would bring the witches back. That's why Binx, the black cat, stayed in the cabin taking care that no one came near there.
As time passed, Max, a boy recently arrived in the city of Salem, along with a friend and his little sister, visited the cabin and he lit the candle, resurrecting the witches without Binx being able to prevent it. MY OPINION
I really enjoyed it because it had very funny episodes even though I was hurt by Emily's death. It's a movie that shows us that good always wins over evil and I like this kind of movies, apart from the fact that I'm a fan of Disney stories.
It is known that Halloween is a celebration of strange invocations, as this movie demonstrates, and that when we come together to do good, and attract positive things, evil can lose all its power and completely destroy itself until it turns to stone and ashes as we could see at the end of this story.
It's sad that the black kitten was still a noble soul immortalized in that body, but the best thing was knowing that he was left with good people who would take care of him until future generations come and understand the process, hahaha.
Some funny moments that made me laugh a lot was seeing one of the witches fly on an electric vacuum cleaner since, in the absence of a broom, and in the middle of the 20th century, she seemed to him the best transport. Another slightly exaggerated but also comical situation was seeing Billy turned into a zombie walking while his head rolled on the floor and the children tried to put it in his place.

I recommend you watch this film, taking advantage of the fact that we are already on the eve of Halloween, and many like to celebrate it between good films of this genre, and lots of popcorn.

y voy a invitar a mis amigos @ismaelgranados y @chacald.dcymt a participar.
Aunque no soy apegada a la celebración de Halloween por lo que realmente representa, a veces rompo un poco los esquemas porque disfruto las películas acerca de este día, así como también me llama la atención cómo decoran las casas y la tradición de los niños de salir disfrazados a pedir dulces por todas las casas.
Una de las cosas más llamativas de los días cercanos a Halloween y su decoración, es cómo resalta el color naranja por todos lados, y es porque transcurre en pleno otoño que es cuando las hojas de los árboles adquieren este color, junto al rojo, el marrón y el amarillo.
Una de las películas transcurridas en medio del otoño y que disfruté muchísimo porque más que terror tuvo episodios divertidos, y un poco exagerados, fue “Hocus pocus”, conocida en otros países con el nombre de “Abracadabra” o “El retorno de las brujas”.
¿DE QUÉ TRATA?
Esta simpática y emocionante historia filmada en los años 90 se desarrolló en medio de la víspera de Halloween, y trata sobre tres brujas que vivían en el bosque y que una noche durante los juicios que llevaban a cabo en Salem, raptaron a Emily, una pequeña que vivía en el pueblo. Su hermanito mayor, Binx, pudo ver cuando una de ellas se la llevaba y las siguió hasta la cabaña donde tenían a la pequeña amarrada en una silla.

Cuando el chico trató de salvar a su hermana volteando la olla con el brebaje que hacían las brujas, éstas lo convirtieron en un gato negro inmortal, quedando para siempre atrapado en ese cuerpo y con la culpa de no haber podido salvar a su hermana a quien las brujas le absorbieron el alma para la eterna juventud, hasta matarla.

La gente del pueblo junto a los padres de Emily y Binx, capturaron a las brujas y las ahorcaron, pero antes de morir una de ellas lanzó un hechizo en el que decía que cada víspera de Noche de Brujas durante la luna llena, si una persona virgen llegaba a encender la vela de llama negra que estaba en la cabaña, traería de vuelta a las brujas. Por eso Binx, el gato negro, permaneció en la cabaña cuidando que nadie se acercara allí.
Al pasar del tiempo, Max, un chico recién llegado a la ciudad de Salem, junto a una amiga y su pequeña hermana, visitaron la cabaña y él encendió la vela resucitando a las brujas sin que Binx pudiera evitarlo. Ahí comenzó de nuevo la historia, con aventuras más emocionantes porque las brujas no estaban acostumbradas a esa época, y trataban de ingeniárselas para capturar a los tres niños y otros más y absorberles sus almas para vivir eternamente.
El final de esta historia se desarrolla en el cementerio, y el gatito negro fue uno de los héroes de este final feliz.
MI OPINIÓN
La disfruté muchísimo porque tenía episodios muy divertidos aunque me dolió la muerte de Emily. Es una película que nos demuestra que el bien siempre vence al mal y me gustan este tipo de películas, aparte de que soy fanática de las historias de Disney.
Es sabido que Halloween es una celebración de invocaciones extrañas, tal y como lo demuestra esta película, y que cuando nos unimos para hacer el bien, y atraer las cosas positivas, el mal puede perder todo su poder y destruirse por completo hasta volverse piedra y cenizas como pudimos ver al final de esta historia.
Es triste que el gatito negro siguiera siendo un alma noble inmortalizada en ese cuerpo, pero lo mejor fue saber que quedó junto a buenas personas que lo cuidarían hasta que vinieran futuras generaciones y entendieran el proceso, jajaja.
Algunos momentos cómicos que me sacaron muchas carcajadas fue ver volar a una de las brujas sobre una aspiradora eléctrica ya que a falta de escoba, y en pleno siglo XX, le pareció mejor transporte. Otra situación un poco exagerada pero cómica también fue ver a Billy convertido en zombi caminar mientras su cabeza rodaba por el piso y los niños trataban de ponérsela en su lugar.

Les recomiendo ver este filme, aprovechando que ya entramos en la víspera de Halloween, y a muchos les gusta celebrarlo entre buenas películas de este género, y muchas palomitas de maíz.
