Hello friends! Today I stopped by to bring you my opinion about a new Christmas movie I saw this weekend. This time I'm participating in the community contest about movies or any audiovisual piece that has Christmas as a reference. I leave here the rules in case you want to participate too.
Trama - Plot
Su título original es Holiday in The Vineyards y nos cuenta la historia de Carter Bradwyn, un joven mujeriego sin metas en la vida perteneciente a una familia adinerada que se dedica a la fabricación de vinos y maneja todo el monopolio de viñedos, salvo uno, el de Dos Santos. Así que su madre, quien maneja todo el negocio familiar, lo manda de incógnito a que averigüe por cuánto se estará subastando este viñedo. Allí, Carter conoce a Valentina Espinoza, la agente inmobiliaria encargada de la venta del lugar y forma una amistad con ella, aunque basada en mentiras. De esta manera logra infiltrarse en su familia y conocerá de primera fuente todo lo relacionado a la venta, pero mientras más tiempo pasa con ella, sus dos pequeños hijos y la gente del pueblo, más se da cuenta del legado que tiene ese lugar tan mágico que es Dos Santos y se deberá enfrentar a la difícil decisión de hacer lo que su madre quiere o ayudar a la comunidad a conservar el viñedo.
Its original title is Holiday in The Vineyards and tells the story of Carter Bradwyn, a young womanizer with no goals in life who belongs to a wealthy family that is dedicated to the manufacture of wines and manages the entire monopoly of vineyards, except for one, the Dos Santos vineyard. So his mother, who manages the entire family business, sends him undercover to find out how much this vineyard is being auctioned for. There, Carter meets Valentina Espinoza, the real estate agent in charge of selling the place and forms a friendship with her, albeit based on lies. The more time he spends with her, her two young children and the people of the town, the more he realizes the legacy of the magical place that is Dos Santos and must face the difficult decision of doing what his mother wants or helping the community to preserve the vineyard.
Reseña - Review
Bueno, esta es una película navideña un poco atípica a las que estoy acostumbrada porque el tema central no es la Navidad, sino todo lo otro que está sucediendo en el medio. Pero como transcurre en temporada navideña se siente esa magia característica de esta época en la película, lo que la hace sensacional para los que nos gusta esto.
Well, this is a Christmas movie a bit atypical to what I'm used to because the central theme is not Christmas, but everything else that is happening in between. But since it takes place during the Christmas season, you can feel that characteristic magic of this season in the movie, which makes it sensational for those of us who like this.
La verdad que me pareció una historia reconfortante, también muy interesante, sobre todo para los amantes de los vinos. En más de una ocasión terminé antojada porque quería probar lo mismo que los personajes jajaja.
The truth is that I found it a comforting story, also very interesting, especially for wine lovers. On more than one occasion I ended up craving it because I wanted to taste the same as the characters hahaha.
Me gustó mucho la mezcla de latinidad y americanismo por decirlo de alguna manera. Los personajes fueron todos muy carismáticos y tuvieron sus momentos de brillo, incluso la madre de Carter que podría ser considerada el Grinch de esta historia porque siempre hay uno. Me resultaron muy queribles los personajes, sobre todo Moe, quien ayudó mucho a Carter y le aportó humor a la película.
I really liked the mix of Latinness and Americanism so to speak. The characters were all very charismatic and had their moments of brilliance, even Carter's mother who could be considered the Grinch of this story because there is always one. I found the characters very lovable, especially Moe, who was very helpful to Carter and brought humor to the film.
Lo que no me resultó tan creíble es el cambio tan drástico de Carter, de ser un mujeriego y medio vago, por decirlo de alguna manera, a dar un giro drástico en tan solo unos días. Ya sé que la magia de las películas es así, pero no deja de sorprenderme estos cambios tan repentinos y sin escala.
What I didn't find so believable was Carter's drastic change, from being a womanizer and half a bum, so to speak, to making a drastic turnaround in just a few days. I know movie magic is like that, but it never ceases to amaze me with such sudden and scale-less changes.
La película me hizo acordar mucho a los libros románticos con temática navideña que suelo leer en esta época, este año no pude leer ninguno ya que estoy enganchada con otros géneros, pero sentí como si estuviera viendo una de esas historias de libros cobrando vida en pantalla. Me dio esa sensación. Encima el actor que hace de Carter es tal cual un personaje literario de esos que amamos las mujeres 🤭.
The movie reminded me a lot of the Christmas themed romance books I usually read around this time, I didn't get to read any this year as I'm hooked on other genres, but I felt like I was watching one of those book stories come to life on screen. It gave me that feeling. On top of that the actor playing Carter is just like one of those literary characters we women love 🤭.
Como siempre, la decoración navideña le da el toque especial, en esta ocasión tampoco tenemos una blanca Navidad pero la decoración es bien bonita. Tampoco hay una musicalización muy marcada, pero la canción final me encantó, es una mezcla entre ritmos navideños con letras que hacen referencia a los vinos y el romance. Así que me pareció una muy buena elección. Le dio un buen cierre a esta historia que tuvo sus partes emotivas y humorísticas.
As always, the Christmas decoration gives the special touch, this time we don't have a white Christmas either, but the decoration is very nice. There is not a very marked musicalization either, but I loved the final song, it is a mix between Christmas rhythms with lyrics that make reference to wines and romance. So I thought it was a very good choice. It gave a good closure to this story that had its emotional and humorous parts.
En definitiva, la disfruté bastante, se me pasó volando. La historia de amor también es muy linda y es una opción ideal para ver en estos dias. Así que está más que recomendada por mi parte.
All in all, I enjoyed it a lot, it flew by. The love story is also very nice and it is an ideal choice to watch these days. So it is more than recommended by me.
Bueno amigos, esta es mi reseña sobre la película, veré hasta cuándo sigo con la temática navideña. Pero ya les digo que esta película es ideal incluso para los que no son tan fanáticos de la Navidad, ya que no es el punto central de la trama.

Well friends, this is my review of the movie, I'll see how long I continue with the Christmas theme. But I'm telling you, this movie is great even for those who aren't that big of a Christmas fan, since it's not the main focus of the plot.
