They say that you have to ask for everything you want, because the universe can surprise you. But I say, you have to be very cautious, and the human being is the one who has to know if it suits him or not, and if this affects third parties. A wish is not a simple wish, it is to move the wheel of fortune and put the universe to conspire. Then one must verify if it is worth so much love and work for nothing.

In the movie, "Irish Wish," there are two important points for me. First, making bad decisions affects not only a person, but their environment and the lives of other people and the planet. Maddie's wish, affects Paul, her friend, family and a whole series of unfortunate events.

Second, when two people "CLIP", they connect and love is true. It is not easy to stop loving. Of course it happens and many times, but there are other elements, which affect, but do not come to this case. Maddie opens her eyes and sees the big mistake of her life. At least, she realized and it is that by force, even the shoes do not fit. Remember when Cinderella's stepsisters tried to put on the glass slipper.

None other than the protagonist of the romantic movie: "An Irish Wish". My girls, some human beings, in the name of love, do worse things, beyond making a wish, they can even commit murder.

Let's talk about my friend and protagonist, Maddie, who evidences in this film, that she is a human being with many shortcomings, seeking the approval of others. Not knowing how to say no, low self-esteem, and not loving herself takes her to the limit and this situation of asking for an absurd wish and realizing what this will cause. Caused by an asphyxiating, authoritarian, controlling mother, obsessive about rules and norms. Especially to be on time.

I believe that no one, even not being a psychologist at first sight, observes that Maddie has a rare behavior, known in women as the good girl syndrome. On this subject, the psychologist Laura Maymó Gallurt, published an article, entitled. "Good girl syndrome from psychology".

All extremes are bad and lead girls to be insecure, low self-esteem, anxious, obedient, submissive and in need of approval. Perfect, controlling and dominant parents can be the cause of this syndrome in girls. Added to this, the society in which they develop. My friend Maddie, with her false modesty, education and smile, does not fool me. She has serious internal conflicts.

She does not have the courage to send Paúl, everyone to hell and beyond.

Among my favorite movie genres are cartoons, romantic comedies, fantasy, detectives, conspiracy among others. "Irish Wish" ranks among the ones I like. It is a Netflix film from the year 2024. I watched it this weekend, for an hour and thirty minutes, I enjoyed this cute comedy. With beautiful scenery that I fell in love with. I was smitten with the famous and beautiful town of Westport.

Ireland is considered a mystical place, full of magic and legends. With a very peculiar history that has strengthened them, who would have seen me and my little girls, humming and walking along those paths full of flowers and cliffs. Enjoying a beautiful sunset.

I recommend this film. Even though the figure of Lindsay Lohan, overshadows the rest of the characters, because of her beauty and because she is a very good actress. One of the few things that I, as a director, would have delved deeper and captured in the film, is Paul's relationship as Maddie's boyfriend, so that the discrepancy between the two friends would be more noticeable. Also the relationship between mother and daughter, and not through a cell phone. As for Paúl, too bland for my tastes.

Sometimes we go through painful situations in love. Especially when you love and you are not loved, but there is no need to cling. Just move on without looking back. Maybe love is just around the corner and where you least expect it. Get out of your comfort zone and look for other directions and your destiny. Be careful with making unusual wishes, as they say at the beginning of the movie "Irish Wish":

"But what if you pass?"

“A veces no consigues lo que deseas, pero si lo que necesitas”

(Un deseo irlandés)

Dicen que hay que pedir todo lo que se desea, ya que el universo puede sorprenderte. Pero yo digo, que hay que ser muy cauteloso, y el ser humano es el que tiene que saber si le conviene o no, y si esto afecta a terceras personas. Un deseo no es un simple deseo, es mover la rueda de la fortuna y poner a conspirar al universo. Entonces se debe verificar si vale la pena tanto amor y trabajo para nada.

En la película, “Un deseo irlandés”, hay dos puntos importantes para mí. En primer lugar, el tomar malas decisiones afecta no solo a una persona, sino a su entorno y a la vida de otras personas y al planeta. El deseo de Maddie, afecta a Paul, a su amiga, a la familia y toda una serie de eventos desafortunados.

Segundo, cuando dos personas hacen "CLIP", se conectan y el amor es verdadero. No es fácil, dejarse de amar. Por supuesto que sucede y muchas veces, pero hay otros elementos, que inciden, pero no vienen a este caso. Maddie, abre los ojos y ve el gran error de su vida. Al menos, se dio cuenta y es que a la fuerza, ni siquiera los zapatos entran. Recuerdan cuando las hermanastras de Cenicienta trataron de ponerse la zapatilla de cristal.

Preguntan al unísono, Paraulata, Beckyta y ratón de biblioteca:

¿Quién es Maddie?

Nada más y nada menos que la protagonista de la película romántica: “Un deseo irlandés”. Mis muchachitas, algunos seres humanos, en nombre del amor, hacen cosas peores, más allá de pedir un deseo, pueden hasta cometer un asesinato.

Hablemos de mi amiga y protagonista, Maddie, la cual evidencia en este filme, que es un ser humano con muchas carencias, buscando la aprobación de los demás. El no saber decir que no, baja autoestima, y el no quererse la lleva al límite y esta situación de pedir un deseo absurdo y percatarse de lo que esto ocasionará. Causado por una madre asfixiante, autoritaria, controladora, obsesiva de las reglas y normas. Sobre todo de llegar a tiempo.

Creo que nadie, aun no siendo psicólogo a simple vista, observa que Maddie tiene un comportamiento raro, y conocido en las mujeres como el síndrome de niña buena. Sobre este tema, la psicóloga Laura Maymó Gallurt, publicó un artículo, titulado. “Síndrome de la niña buena desde la psicología”.

“El síndrome de la niña buena se refiere a un patrón de comportamiento en el cual las niñas se sienten obligadas a ser perfectas, obedientes y agradables para cumplir con las expectativas de sus padres/madres, maestros/as y la sociedad en general…”

Todos los extremos son malos y llevan a las niñas a ser mujeres inseguras, con baja autoestima, a sufrir de ansiedad, obedientes, sumisas y con necesidad de aprobación. Los padres perfectos, controladores y dominantes pueden ser los causantes de este síndrome en las niñas. Aunado a esto, la sociedad donde se desenvuelve. Mi amiga Maddie con su falsa modestia, educación y sonrisa, no me engaña. Tiene graves conflictos internos.

No tiene valor para mandar a Paul, a todos al carajo y más allá.

Entre mis géneros preferidos del cine están los dibujos animados, las comedias románticas, fantasía, detectives, conspiración entre otros. “Un deseo irlandés” se ubica entre los que me gustan. Es un filme de Netflix del año 2024. La vi este fin de semana, durante una hora y treinta minutos, disfruté de esta linda comedia. Con hermosos paisajes que me enamoraron. Quedé prendada del famoso y lindo pueblo de Westport.

Irlanda es considerada como un lugar místico, lleno de magia y leyendas. Con una historia muy peculiar y que los ha fortalecido. ¡Wuao!, quien me viera a mí y mis muchachitas, canturreando y caminando por esos senderos llenos de flores y los acantilados. Disfrutando de un bello atardecer.

Les recomiendo este filme. Aun cuando la figura de Lindsay Lohan, opaca al resto de los personajes, por su belleza y porque es muy buena actriz. Una de las pocas cosas en las que yo como director hubiese ahondado más y plasmado en la película, la relación de Paúl como novio de Maddie, para que se notara más la discrepancia entre las dos amigas. También la relación entre madre e hija, y no a través de un teléfono celular. En cuanto a Paúl, muy insípido para mis gustos.

Al igual que Maddie, también pedí un deseo, conocer el pueblo de Westport, y todos los lugares donde se evidencia su historia. Voy a anotar este destino e incluirlo en mi mapa de sueños. Sé que este año con mi mochila voy a recorrer el mundo. Oh la la

A veces pasamos situaciones dolorosas en el amor. Sobe todo, cuando se amar y no se es amado, pero no hay que aferrarse. Solo continuar sin mirar atrás. Quizás el amor esta a la vuelta de la esquina y donde menos se espera. Salgan de la zona de confort a buscar otros rumbos y su destino. Mucho cuidado con pedir deseos insólitos, como dicen al inicio de la película “Irish Wish”:

“Pero ¿Y si pasas?”
