I have not teared up over a movie in a long while, but I did this time, for its emotional depth that had me hooked, no, obsessed. A gripping and emotionally charged story with a chilling and edge-of-the-seat effect. A jailbreak genre with a difference.

A 2024 movie which is currently on the top 10 list on Netflix and generating so much buzz is Jigra, starring Satya Anand (played by Alia Bhatt), a fiercely determined sister who "takes on the World", to save her brother, on death row for a crime he did not commit.

Jigra revolves around the life of Satya Anand (Alia Bhatt), a fiercely strong-willed girl along with her younger sibling Ankur Anand (Vedang Raina)who both resides at their wealthy uncle’s house. After their father committed suicide when they were very young, Satya matures early, fending for herself and her younger brother Ankur.

Problems start when Ankur and his cousin Kabir goes to Hanoi Dao for a software deal and are both arrested for illegal drug possession but Kabir was the one who was actually found with the drugs. An only son, and heir to a very rich dynasty, Kabir must not die, so innocent Ankur was made the scapegoat and gets sentenced to death, while Kabir walks away, a free man.

With Ankur's execution set within just three months, Satya was devastated; the life of her loved one was about to be snuffed out just like that, so she plans a risky jailbreak, to save her brother.

The extraordinary length she goes, the high-stakes tension up till the climax and the captivating narrative, all makes this movie a very satisfying watch.

Did she succeed in her daredevil mission to save her only brother?

A very brilliant performance by the cast.

Alia Bhatt shines in her role, phenomenal I must say, as an action star and an emotional character, I loved the sister-brother dynamic which stands out in the movie, I was totally immersed in the raw emotions.

Although I am seeing him for the first time, Vedang Raina (Ankur) promises to be one for the future.

The soulful and intriguing songs are apt for the scenes and I was also enthralled with the flashes of poetry, infact I really loved them!

'Jigra" is a film that hits you straight in the heart and stays there. It is intense, emotionally powerful and with well executed and slick stunts, It is a mesmerizing cinematic gem, my rating is 5/5, nothing less!

Nothing hurt more than a betrayal.

Two friends traveled out of the country for business but one of them was found with a possession of hard drugs and they were arrested... The one caught came from a rich family and his father sponsored the trip.

Innocent people sometimes suffer for the crime of the bad ones, the innocent out of the two was brainwashed by the lawyer to admit that the guy who was caught with the drugs had nothing to do with it, and he also needed to admit he was the culprit, innocently he agreed to save his friend because he was told, the friend has been caught twice with drugs and if caught again, it would be his death.

He admitted the drug was found in his possession, and the one that committed the crime was released while he was taken to court where he was sentenced to death by electrocution in 3 months, he was shocked cos this was not the deal he had made with the lawyer, he told him he would be released after a few months, it was too late to change his statement and that was how the innocent was about to die for the crime committed by someone else.

It is not over until it is over, the guy had a sister who would do anything for her brother, She flew into the country to see him, even though the brother has given up on life but his sister is ready to commit crimes to save her little brother and that was exactly what she did... She released 6000 prisoners to save her brother...

She was successful in her jailbreak attempt but it comes at a cost, some innocent people and accomplice in the mission died in the process.

I give this movie 10/10

The story line was captivating, action 10/10, emotional 10/10, the songs they sang in it even made it more emotional, one of the song was an old song that I have listened to before and I love it that I had to download it again and I am vibing to it as I am writing this post...The name of the song is Pholoon Ka Taaro ka

This movie gives a lot of lessons, people are ready to sacrifice others to save their families which is what the rich family did, they sacrificed someone else to get their son released forgetting the person they sacrificed is someone's son and brother too.

It taught us not to trust a random person, he fell for the words of the lawyer which got him a death sentence and lastly the movie taught us there are people who would do anything to save their loved ones even if it will cost them everything.

You need to see this movie.

I watched Alia Bhatt's thriller drama movie Jigra. Now, how much courage does this Jigra movie have to survive at the box office? Well, hello, my name is @itznur and I am welcoming you in my today's movie review JIGRA.Let's talk about it,

Plot and Review
Alia Bhatt in her last few movies, There is no doubt that Raji, Gangubai, Darlings has shown her acting very well in these films and in Jigra, she has gone a level higher where the story is about such brothers and sisters. Who lost their parents in their childhood and the responsibility of their younger brother is on the elder sister Satya Played by Alia and Ankur Played by Vedang Rana And I Must Say The acting done by these two is how brothers and sisters bonding should be. Till date, we have been watching many movies in which the hero and heroine. The hero has to save the heroine from the bad people, etc., in which we are shown everything like meat, masala, items, songs, etc.

The story of Jigra is a little different, it is very unique and fresh. Among all the masala movies, the topic of this movie has been made not on masala but on emotions, where a sister is ready to risk her life for her brother, even to the extent of taking someone else's life. Had predicted that this would be just such an movie whose first half would be dull and the second half would be a jail break story but no brother, in the first 15 minutes the jail gave a small and impressive buildup of the brother-sister relationship. Even after the story starts, the atmosphere of tension that is created inside Satya connects us, we ourselves feel that tension. Alia has given such a performance in the scene of eating in the plane which you have also seen in the trailer.

You must have seen the mental situation in which Alia is acting at that time, that was one of the best scenes of the movie and why she is so aggressive towards her brother is also showcased to us through a back drop and like. I said that this is not a mass masala movie where the hero will be saving the heroine from the villain, but there is definitely a character here, Landa Bhai Saheb, in the jail, there is such a character, he has played such a role that he is absolutely crazy and heartless and he played the very prominent role as a jailer merciless jailer.

And the rest of the cast has also played the supporting role very well, especially Bhatia Sahab played by Manoj Pahwa Sir, you will like his climax part very much in the scene in which that old one is. This is a theater debut movie and he nailed his role. Actually, it is very rare that such movies are made which have a strong story line along with acting performance. And this time Vasan Bala, who is the director of this movie, has made a great movie. Due to the content of the film, people can easily like the movie. There is a humming BGM going on in it, which binds the emotions inside you even better with those characters. That almost 20-25 minute jail break scene in Detha and Last is very well choreographed with action which also gives you tension whether it will be your friend or not.

However, the movie is based on the emotions of brother and sister, so no abuse. Only no scenes, only family friendly material, rest overall, while watching, I can easily say that this is a must watch movie among Alia Bhatt's content oriented and performance based movies. There are some negatives in the movie too, but they help the originality and story line of the movie. So from my side this movie easily gets 3.5 out of 5 stars.
