SYNOPSIS
In 1930, some heroes appeared who would change the world completely, the first to have superpowers and make a change in the world, now, almost a century after its beginnings, the youngest must follow in their footsteps and maintain everything that they have built, but it is not an easy path for new heroes to maintain the peace that once existed.
OPINION
I wanted to see The Legacy of Jupiter because it was a Netflix original series about superheroes, another installment to a world full of heroes, I did not know if it could be good or bad, I just knew that I should see it, it was in the top 10 of most viewed by For a while, I thought it could go on for a while so I didn't bother seeing it immediately, I felt like I could see spoilers on social media, taking away the desire to see it, until I had it forgotten on my Netflix list.
After watching Supercrooks, an animated series that I loved about some villains, I wanted to see The Legacy of Jupiter for being a world connected with Supercrooks, I got to read that they had canceled it and that they would continue it with this animated series that I recommend 100%. When looking for information about its cancellation, I came across reviews that said it was bad, it did not impact, among other personal opinions, but the real reason was that the Netflix vice president gave the green light to the project with a lower budget than the first director requested. The project, going from director to director, the vice president leaving at that time and altering the whole series due to changes of command, wanting to continue with the series in animated mode; who knows if for the cheapest or for better visual work. Having another world of superheroes at this point is very risky given the new installments, it is true, they did well with Supercrooks, with The Legacy of Jupiter, not so much.
The problem with making a series with powers is that the effects must look good, natural and not so computerized, maybe that was a problem for the series, I felt it was a very beginner with its special effects, I came to think that The Boys lacked experience with its effects until I saw The Legacy of Jupiter and saw that there could be worse cases. The other is the story, a fight that is the best based on personal thoughts, little action, few fights, to try superheroes it lacks a bit of superheroes.
One of the things that bothered me about the series is that they focused on Utopian's daughter, a wayward drug addict who drives everyone away, while her brother had just instinctively killed someone and they didn't give someone more visibility than For the story, he was having a worse time, the story little connected with Chloe and even so, she had more time on the screen.
The series entertained me, it has material to exploit, unfortunately they chose the worst way to do it, in live action, being animated they could have placed more fights, more effects, they could do it better, maybe that's why it was canceled and Supercrooks were made, although not is a story that joins the other happens in the same world, it may have another season of Supercrooks of course, let's just hope that this world of superheroes and supervillains continues to stand, there is no harm in having other stories than those already we know.
It's not the best series of heroes, it doesn't have the best effects, but you can still appreciate it, give it a try and tell me what you think about it. Without more to say, we read the next post.
I love unusual superheroics and had a great time this past weekend watching Netflix's new series, an adaptation of one of Mark Millar's longest-running comics, "Jupiter's Legacy" and it looks like the streaming giant and screenwriter Steven S. DeKnight (the bloody "Spartacus," "Daredevil" and the beloved "Dollhouse") has turned out a great show that deconstructs comics on a new quality level.
The Sempson family are true superheroes. They are incredibly strong, can fly, shoot lasers out of their eyes and in general are great guys with a strict code of conduct, in addition to a dozen rules prohibiting murder, interference in politics and international conflicts. The head of the family Sheldon, known as Utopian (Josh Duhamel), understands that time will not beat him and he himself is far from young - makes every effort to ensure that his high ideals and aspirations are shared by his superchildren Brandon (Andrew Horton) and Chloe (Elena Kampouris).
However, times have seriously changed. The world is a far cry from the 1930s, when he gained his power. The code, it shows, is morally obsolete. Supervillains are literally exterminating new generations of superheroes, and many situations require serious violations of the rules established by the heroes, which in Utopian's opinion is unacceptable even in the name of the highest good...
It's worth saying that I'm not familiar with the original comic, but I've heard that it's been out since 2013, and in that time it has accumulated a huge number of characters, plot arcs, and jumps through different time periods, which creates really complex multifaceted conflicts and gives its authors a huge scope to operate with genre clichés or themes that in most superhero comics remain "off limits".
For example, by taking the generational clash (Fathers and Children) popular in literature as their foundation, Millar and his co-writers don't try to artificially reconcile them, avoid a happy reunion and make the relationship between the characters truly tense. Short, wry dialogue, an emphasis on morality and ethics, and long flashbacks that maximize the characters' motivations and personalities make "Jupiter's Legacy" a truly hardcore show. Not as entertaining as the bloody "Boys," but truly serious and, to a certain extent, much more realistic and closer to the genre of psychological drama than superhero comic book adaptations.
To put it simply - while The Boys focuses on blood and violence, Jupiter first and foremost questions the characters about how appropriate it is to use their powers and whether "great power really implies great responsibility."
This serious and dark tone, with a bias towards philosophy, was not to the liking of many, and despite the flawless adventure storyline with the 30's of the 20th century, reminiscent of "Indiana Jones", the series is still getting average ratings from viewers and critics, but I think that such a show has been missing on the screens for a long time and should have been paid close attention to what is going on in the heads of superheroes long ago.
I hope the show gets renewed for a few seasons to come and the creators of the show don't go along with the mass viewer or tic-tac-toe fans and leave it as complex as it is.
›Jupiter's legacy is an okayish watch!@trumpman1875d
Jupiter's legacy is a mini superheroes series that popped up on Netflix a couple of days ago. It is based on a 2015 comic by the same name. I have never read or heard the comic before, but since I like superhero stuff I figured to give it to watch today.
In total, it's only eight episodes, some of which are less than 40 minutes long so I ended up finishing it in one go.
During the first couple episodes I was like mehhhhhhh but it gets better as it moves on, especially thanks to the plot.
Most of the superheroes have boring powers, essentially they are like superman (eye lasers, flying etc) but weaker. Actually, the coolest superhero is the one that doesn't have any superpowers but instead has a super gadget, lol.
Anyways, I feel this could have been a lot more but considering that it is a production by Netflix it could have been much worse. It stinks of mediocrity when it comes to casting, special effects and anything else and felt somewhat rushed. Also it sucks that it didn't have many action fight scenes.
Overall, an okayish watch if you like superhero shit and have nothing better to watch.
THE ERA OF SUPERHEROES INVADES EVERY CORNER OF THE UNIVERSE, BUT ENOUGH OF THE SAME, WE JUST NEED BATMAN.
Television has become that space to bring to life an endless number of series based on Heroes from the classics like THE JUSTICE LEAGUE, WHASMEN, and one of the series that I have loved for its dark and chaotic touch THE BOYS, among a dozen series with the same aroma.

Times have changed, but heroes do not go out of fashion and every 2 years we can see how productions and projects that bet on this that in the last 10 years has been a bomb in pop culture around the world come out. So following this path is the most logical, but there is always a margin of error and that things do not go as expected.
JUPITER'S LEGACY came with the intention of staying in a world full of this genre with a huge catalog where the viewer can handpick what they want to see and this usually makes it difficult for new productions that try to get the attention of viewers.

A story under a changing timeline and characters that seem to be the copy of the JUSTICE LEAGUE itself, which is nothing new, as we see this same pattern in the series THE BOYS and is something we can already expect without much concern, but at the time of finally presenting the story and character development we can notice that they use the same formula and do not show anything new that makes our heads explode.
"From this moment on you will know a little more about what the series is about and what I thought of it from different points of view that I will share with you in this short review".
WHAT'S THE SERIES ABOUT?
I'LL TELL YOU QUICKLY AND WITHOUT SPOILERS, IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET!
By now you should have a clearer idea of what this series is about and maybe nothing I tell you at this point will help you much, since just by telling you that the series is about a group of heroes I think the rest is obvious, but since I have to say something about it and not leave this to the half I'll tell you a little about the series.
It all starts with the typical scene where we see the hero chasing the villain in a struggle of powers and abilities where the lives of many people are always at stake, nothing new, nothing spectacular, everything is developed under the premise of justice and that everything revolves around a code that should never be broken.
¡TE LO CUENTO RÁPIDO Y SIN SPOILERS, POR SI Aún NO LA HAS VISTO!
As in any superhero story, we can see the origin of this group and how over time they adapt to what governs humanity in times where bank robbery is no longer common, but the uncontrolled death of innocents is the main course in these new times.
The main character is Utopian, the living image of justice and an example for humanity to follow, where the code of never kill is his law and that is not up for discussion. Accompanied by other heroes of which I will tell you more later, we will be able to see a story that takes place in two different times, where we are shown the origin and what happens today with these heroes.
We will also see how the new generation of superheroes try to shine with their own light and be noticed before the old school that does not give their arm to twist and that imparts a code of honor that lately has not served much before some villains who only understand one thing, kill or live behind bars.
A group of villains with similar characteristics and basic objectives, which only stand out for being more aggressive and without a touch of sanity, practically something we see repeatedly in this vast universe, where they will face the heroes in an endless battle.
Drugs and blood are also part of the story, but not the center of attention of the plot, it is rather a little variant with change and arguments that are mixed from episode 1 to 8 keeping the same story, but that does not generate greater expectation of what is already known, it is a series like any other under the same context that leaves nothing to the imagination and becomes repetitive.
BEWARE OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS!
LET'S TALK ABOUT THE CHARACTERS
Every hero story has the origin of each of its heroic characters, but this time we are presented with the origin of a group of heroes who received their powers on the same day and at the same time which makes it easy to explain their origins, but this time I will focus on their personal side and I want you to know a little more in depth.
Let's start with (Josh Duhamel) as Sheldon Sampson / Utopian, the leader of the team with a history where faith and struggle have been the ideals of a man who is just trying to give the world the chance it has never had. We see how this character struggles with his inner demons looking for that balance that does not take him away from what he believes is right, but that every day that passes seems to be only a dream that makes no sense in the current world around him.
¡TEN CUIDADO POSIBLES SPOILERS!
(Ben Daniels) as Walter Sampson / Brainwave, a character with the power to read minds and who hides a dark side that could be the trigger to create discord within the team and who has no problem making the world go up in flames if it doesn't stop him from getting what he wants. He looks like the villain, but it seems like he's still a ways off from that level. He's just a man with different interests than the others.
(Leslie Bibb) as Grace Sampson / Lady Liberty, the feminine side who will be responsible for keeping things under control and not losing her temper in situations where brute force seems to make more sense than sitting around talking.
(Matt Lanter) as George Hutchene / Skyfox, a very charismatic character who understands that things are not as they were before and who will have to mark distance to make his friends understand that the world needs new heroes in a world where justice is written with a pencil and easily erased.
These are the characters that for me are key and deserve some attention and that perhaps if they are better developed in their second season we will be able to grasp the thread of the story and maybe we will be encouraged to see how it all ends.
AN UNBREAKABLE CODE
During all the episodes I could notice that they made great emphasis on something that for most of the followers of the genre is obvious and that there is no reason why they should repeat it as if it had been clear from the beginning and that is the idea that a hero Never kills and that is clear.
The series seems to hold on to this argument to give meaning to the whole plot and that the viewer does not lose that horizon, but from my humble opinion is a failure of ideas that only leaves in evidence the lack of creativity within the plot that we want to present.
This can become so repetitive that you don't understand the direction they want to take and you are left with that feeling that if something big doesn't happen fast you might stop watching the series half way through, I just told you a little bit about the characters and it is key for you to stay until the end of the series and not because it will blow your mind, but so you can understand why they put so much emphasis on this code of honor that in the end shows what they really don't want to present.
THE GOOD AND THE BAD OF THE SERIES
We get to the moment where I can openly describe what I like and don't like about the series and I must tell you that it's more the negative than the positive, since I still can't connect with the series and even though they show us a couple of characters that look interesting it's still not enough to say that the series is worth watching or that it will be a total success.
THE GOOD THINGS
It has scenarios that are visually great as well as its special effects that despite being a series are very well done and you can enjoy each of them.
The timeline they handle is in two different times and they know how to handle it very well taking into account that you do not get out of the story and you can go back and forward at the same time without losing the thread of the story.
Its characters are a copy of others in the same genre, but they have different personalities that make it attractive to a certain extent.
THE BAD THING A STORY THAT IS NOT VERY ORIGINAL AND TENDS TO BECOME REPETITIVE THROUGHOUT EACH EPISODE.
An unoriginal story that tends to become repetitive throughout each episode, this usually happens when its narrative line focuses on a single theme and loses the opportunity to expand their ideas when they are subject to the same from start to finish.
The villains are shown imposing and indisputable, but in some scenes we see how they are defeated with great ease, which makes it clear that when the script needs it, they will use this resource to get out of trouble.
Filler scenes where some secondary characters do not add value to the story and only add unnecessary minutes, making the episode longer than it needs to be.
The number of episodes is sufficient, but they do not cover the priority needs of the plot, which generates that we see the same rhythm and the same dialogues spread over and over again during each episode.
These are some positive and negative points that I have been able to find within the series and that maybe if you have already seen it you can share with me, but as I always say it is a personal opinion.
DO YOU RECOMMEND IT?
If you have reached this point maybe you have found my review useful or interesting and you are wondering if I recommend it or if it is worth watching its 8 episodes. I must tell you that if you are a follower of this kind of genre and you don't mind watching something that is well structured at a narrative level, I would tell you to watch it and enjoy the story they don't tell.
But if you are one of those who have already had the opportunity to see the series THE BOYS and expect to see something similar here, let me tell you that you will waste your time and just like me you will be sadly surprised that you will not see anything like the series I just mentioned.
I do not recommend it, but you should not be guided by what I say or think, as each of us have totally different opinions and points of view.
FINAL THOUGHT
The television industry and movies in general are betting on fiction and fantasy where the surprising of that world where superhumans seem to be the latest fashion, may be responsible for a total success, but it almost always happens that wanting to repeat what already exists becomes boring and meaningless for a community that expects to see something new and that if or if it blows our minds from start to finish.
This series lacks a lot to impact positively within the community and may not get the success or welcome they expect, the truth is a series for a special audience and it will be very difficult to end up liking everyone.
MY RATING IS A: 6.5/10
Well, MOVIEGOERS I hope you liked my little review and I hope to read your comments, we are reading.
›Jupiter's Legacy ~ A New Upcoming TV Series ( Netflix )@valentin861901d
Hello🙋♂️ everybody🌍 Apparently🙂 this year is the year when it rains with many movies only and only with superheroes. One of the films that will be released soon will be released under the movie title, Jupiter's Legacy. Honestly from what i managed to understand from the exposed trailer, i really expect it to be an excellent series ~ I really hope not to be disappointed in this regard.
Jupiter's Legacy is a future science fiction-only superhero series created by the famous Steven S. DeKnight ( creator, head writer, and executive producer of the Starz series Spartacus ~ TV Series 2010-2013 ~ A good series, which i really enjoyed watching for some😅 few times ). OK... Jupiter's Legacy is an epic story based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely. This series, it seems, will premiere on Netflix on the 7 May.
Given that, the series exposes certain alternative lives of the descendants of those superheroes we have been used to see it over time, the epic story of this series seems quite good ~ maybe a bit unique and intuitive. It seems that now is the turn of their children who must continue their legendary stories, at a much more advanced level ~ a moral legacy of the first generation of superheroes.
