  2. Why the Fuck Should I Watch: KILL CHAIN? (2019)@thefilmcritic2432d

Why the fuck should you watch “Kill Chain”? • You are old enough to remember the ancient times when Nicolas Cage was in good movies, doing great acting and winning Oscars. • Between crazy Cage and normal Cage you would pick the normal one. • You need to remember yourself that you should never trust people. Even if they have big tit..I mean: a nice smile.
    • You are the one, who likes to gamble in life. You go to casinos regularly, play Russian roulette every Tuesday evening with your friends, and your favourite quote is “never tell me the odds” that you tell your bed-partner after not using protection. (Disclaimer: use protection). So take a gamble: watch this movie, I dare you. Probably you lose and hate it, but…maybe, just maybe, you will like it.

    There is still Hope!

Since Nicolas Cage has been in small crappy movies a lot lately, because he needs more quick money to buy more castles, I was prepared for a “so bad, it’s bad” movie. I had my alcohol ready and everything. But from the very first scene I understood that this is not the usual crappy film, it created tension and an interesting setting for the movie to take place. After the first scene I had no idea where all this was going, so I’m going to do my best not to spoil much.

The story is not simple. It actually has 6 characters/groups that have their own stories that happen in the same town in one night. Action often takes place in small rooms, dialogue is important part of the movie, and I was not understanding everything until the end. It is a little bit like Tarantino movies… Tarantino 0.7, I would say. Defenitly with flaws and a little slow at places, but overall can generate thrill, some action, humor and makes you think about the plot during the movie.

Nicolas Cage has toned down his crazy acting ways, and is playing a quite interesting badass character Araña with his own secrets. Sometimes it’s nice to remember myself that Cage can act very well if he chooses so (Like Bruce Willis can, but just won’t do it anymore). There’s also this woman in red (Annabelle Acosta) who fucks up everyone’s lives who she meets. Never trust women in red. Never.

And what is the plot about? Diamonds and staying alive longer than others.

Why the fuck you shouldn’t watch “Kill Chain”? • You watch Rated-R movies for the intimate scenes. Don’t bother with this one then. The Oscar for the most boring sex scene in 2019 goes to KILL CHAIN for sure. • You like when the movie spoons information into you from the very first scene. • You like high value productions: big explosions and so on. • You only enjoy great movies and not “better than expected” movies.
