Come sempre vi aspetto su www.serialfiller.org.

As usual today I bring you a new Preview of an article (it's time for Killing Eve 4) that in a few days or weeks you will see in the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for some months, I decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see on www.serialfiller.org. It's about killing eve and its fourth season that we will be able to see in Italy live on Tim Vision and of which today I speak to you in preview and limited to the first 2 delicious episodes. Below with the preview!

I must admit that I did not expect the new season to start like this. Eve and Villanelle completely separate and apart, try to change their ways. Both of these claims, however, will be belied by the facts within a few dozen minutes. Eve no longer has her job, Eve is on the hunt for the Twelve despite having only blunt weapons in her hands. Sandra Oh's character, in this initial phase, seems to be a variable gone mad, a pawn that moves on the chessboard with a nonsense that the character had glimpsed in previous seasons but never with so much lack of modesty and brakes. Eve Polastri looks like a stick of dynamite with the fuse lit and in constant motion. Only a storm, only the strong wind can extinguish it. Will that impetuous wind be Villanelle? But didn't I say that the 2 characters appeared distant in this startup? Yes, I did. They are physically but certainly not emotionally. They still seem connected, still obsessed but this time the weight has tipped the scales on the opposite side. If in the first seasons it was Villanelle who represented Eve's obsession, this year the opposite seems to happen. The Russian hitwoman is presented to us as a woman in search of peace, in search of a new life, in search of opposite habits and feelings than the glacial, sketchy and pyrotechnic person we have known. And what better location than a church to embark on this journey? What better depiction than that of a baptism to affirm her rebirth? Oksana is in seclusion, wanting to be affirmed to Christ, to bathe her head and wash away all sin in hopes of rising from her sins. Will it be a true desire to make amends and begin a new life? The answer will be powerfully given to us in the second episode and it is there that we will understand how much Eve has gotten under the skin of the beautiful Villanelle. The show is back in better shape than ever but with some notes that for now I do not want to put on the register. Will it become a note of merit or demerit? Only the next few episodes will reveal that to us. For now I can only say: Welcome back!

As always, I look forward to seeing you on www.serialfiller.org. I recommend, if you are serialfillers too, sign up and spread the word so that this small community will become larger and larger! I'll wait for you also on social networks (telegram included) Thanks for your attention!

  2. Killing Eve: Season 1, Episode 1-4 Review@wolfofnostreet1816d

Killing Eve is an electrifying, award-winning, spy thriller series starring two female leads, Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer. They play Eve Polastri and Villanelle respectively, who have a cat and mouse, love-hate relationship throughout the series. Since its premiere in April 2018, it's been on for three seasons with a fourth and final season said to premiere in 2022.

    81juNAyqNYL.RI.jpg Source

The series is based on a compilation of e-book novellas by Luke Jennings called Codename Villanelle. The series is big on femme power as each of the four seasons has a female head writer. Having two females as lead characters for such roles is unusual but also unique, and from the four episodes I've seen so far, I can say the leads delivered excellently.

    images (25).jpeg Source

Eve Polastri is a British intelligence investigator who is fascinated by female assassins and their methods. In the first episode of the series pilot, she links a recent assassination to a series of similar high-profile killings that she had been researching.

On her visit to the hospital where the only witness was admitted, she goes to the restroom where she is met by Villanelle dressed as a nurse who compliments her hair. Eve goes back to the witness' hospital room only to find the witness, a nurse, and guards murdered.

Her unauthorized involvement with this case gets her and her partner fired by the MI5. The Russian section of the MI6 soon after hires Eve to track the killer, having been impressed by her theories about the killer.

In the second episode, Villanelle is cautioned by Konstantin and informs her a British investigator by the name of Eve is on to her. Villanelle kills yet another high-profile individual, a successful parfumier in Paris.

Eve realizes the nurse she met at the hospital bathroom is actually the killer and she traces her down to Berlin with her partner Bill in the third episode. Bill notices Eve is being followed by Villanelle and he blocks her from getting on the same train with Eve. Thereafter, he follows Villanelle closely in the streets.

Bill continues trailing her while he calls Eve to meet him up. The trail leads him to a crowded nightclub where Villanelle eventually looks at him straight in the eyes, letting him know she had been aware of the trail. She stabs him repeatedly in the midst of unaware dancers just before Eve could get to Bill.

In episode four, Villanelle's superior makes her work with two other assassins as a form of punishment. Their target is Frank, Eve's former boss at the MI5 who got her and late Bill fired. Eve on the other hand together with Elena was trailing Frank after finding out he's a mole at the MI5.

The three assassins go looking for Frank at his home where he manages to escape and they go after him. Eve who's also on Frank's trail realizes it is Villanelle who's after him and tries to get him away from the assassins.

Villanelle makes Nadia, one of the assassins who is clearly in love with her, kill the other, Diego who is a control freak. Villanelle then promises to change for Nadia, and it is obvious the two used to be lovers. She then runs Nadia over with a car. She sees Frank running off in the distance and goes after him, meeting Eve again as she tries to save Frank.

    My Thoughts

The obsession between the two women is amazing to watch. They both seem to be fascinated with each other and I can't tell if they want to kill each other, share a moment like old friends or maybe have sex with each other. I think there might be sexual chemistry between these two even when it isn't physical.

Each woman is fascinated by the other and the events leading to their meet-up are filled with turns and suspense. The show has undertones of queerness, Villanelle being bisexual, admiring Eve at the hospital bathroom and even sending her expensive clothes as if teasing her.

They seem to mirror each other only one is a psychopathic killer and the other an investigator. They both have tasks to fufill but their obsession to kill each other or whatever it is they want to do with themselves might come in the way.

I've enjoyed each episode and Villanelle's precise killings will have your lady parts screaming. Although the murder at the nightclub was just crazy. What type of possessed dance would make people not realize a murder was happening right beside them? Why couldn't Bill run through the crowd but Villanelle could? I know she's a psychopath assassin but Bill was an intelligence agent.

Eve now has a couple of scores to settle with Villanelle after her partner was murdered by her and also her witness. I'd love to see how she intends to kill this psychopath 'with her bare hands' as she said in episode four.

Villanelle is interesting to watch and I look forward to her next kill and what she intends to do to Eve in the next episode.

  3. Killing Eve - 1era Temporada | ¿Qué carajos estoy viendo?@jauregui982141d

Lamento no haber comenzado a verla antes.

¡Yo no sé qué cosa estaba viendo! No sabía si tenía miedo o tenía ganas (laughs in spanish).

  4. Killing Eve – Season 3 Review@readingdanvers2175d

    Killing Eve.jpg

This was a pretty good season, just not as good as the previous one. Each season has a different showrunner and it shows. Because the first season was the best and it is slowly deteriorating. Plus, they all feel very different. It also feels like the show isn't going in a particular direction, they are not sure what their endgame is, but it is a fun ride. I binged the entire season in one day.

The season picks up a few weeks after the previous season finale. Eve (Sandra Oh) is officially out of MI6 and now works in her relative's restaurant and recovering from her injury. Villanelle (Jodie Comer) is on her own and trying to get a life outside of the Twelve. Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) is still working for MI6 and her son Kenny (Sean Delaney) is now working for a newspaper. This is where they all are at the beginning of episode 1. Then everything escalates pretty quickly as The Twelve take a more central role in the plot. Which is not good because they are the most boring part of the plot. No one cares about some secret organization. We care about people.

By far the best character of the season was Carolyn. Not only does Shaw do a great job portraying the character, who is cold, brilliant and a bit eccentric, but her character has the best character development in this season I think. Only because of her cold nature, you really have to play close attention to catch the little details. Also, she has the best plotline. Eve is totally her supporting character and her plotline is the lease interesting one of the season. Even the new character, Dasha, has a better plotline. Plus as the character the show is named after, Eve has the least amount of screen time in this season from the main trio. Comer is still brilliant as the eccentric Villanelle. Only her plotline is a little bit all over the place. But still, she makes the most out of what she has. I still love all of the characters.

The show looks great. I have to say that I laughed so much when I saw Konstantin and his Russian friend drinking from crystal glasses. The same kind of glasses that my parents have and most Russian and/or East European households still have. From some reason crystal dishes were super popular and everyone still has them. Plus the plastic dishes with the terrible painted decoration, is totally still a thing. Every time I visit East Europe I am surprised by it. So I feel that it is all authentic. But Harriet Walter Russian is terrible. Even me, who can barely speak the language, can hear that it just sounds bad. On the plus side the locations are pretty excellent. The last scene of the season just looks spectacular. Every aspect, from the actors' placement to the location, just looks stunning. The styling on this show is still perfect as well. Each character looks unique and mostly stylish, if not then it is on purpose. Mostly, the show has really high production values and it looks great most of the time. Accent and language is where most shows fall and this is no exception.

So yeah, it's not a good as the previous season, but if you enjoyed the previous season, you'll probably enjoy this one as well.

  5. Killing Eve: End of Game@serialfiller2229d

    image.png

    image.png

With only a few episodes to go before the end of a brilliant third season, Killing Eve probably makes the first false step. Let's talk about the unveiling of the bloody cliffangher in episode 4. After waiting for 2 episodes, thanks also to an excellent interlude on Villanelle in episode 5, we were curious to understand how Eve would react to her husband's murder. ....... ............ .............. That's.............................................

If you bet everything on this then you can't reveal to us that well ... despite a blow more than mortal, inflicted by an infallible serial killer, you can't make that character live. It's frankly unforgivable and it's not, especially since Killing Eve, a TV series that has always surprised for its ability to dare. In this case he didn't. Little disappointment that depower what has been and leaves with the handbrake pulled for the rest of the things that are narrated in this episode. To frame, to decipher are many things, various things that happen. Villanelle on the breaking point. Constantine on the breaking point. MI6 triple play. Eve and Villanelle who practically travel in time space between Russia, Romania, Spain, UK with an excessive ease. First episode really not very brilliant in terms of writing this season, and it's a shame.

    image.png

  6. Killing Eve: are you from pinner?@serialfiller2235d

    image.png

    Tunnel Wave.png

Advance, continues to advance relentlessly the fifth season of Killing Eve. As often happens, you have to go back to go forward at best. Even if your name is Villanelle, pardon Oksana, even if you are an irrecoverable psychopath, even if you are a serial killer. The authors decide not to show Eve in this episode and above all they decide to give breath to that storyline after the events of the last episode. So they build an episode Villanelle centric, with Oksana who lands in Mother Russia and finally manages to meet what remains of her family, her mother and brother as well as other acquired relatives. It's hard to say what he expected to meet Oksana but it's easy to guess how such an event could on the one hand unblock the trauma of a lost childhood but on the other hand consolidate it further. And here comes an episode very smooth and for the most part absolutely quiet, sunny, almost introspective and very funny. From the little guy who loves Elton John and would like to be present at his farewell tour until you get to a boy who believes that the earth is flat passing in general through a series of characters who have as a common thread the fear and respect towards Villanelle's mother. It will be the confrontation between the 2 to close the episode that will be sealed by a bang, by deaths, by the usual trail of blood that Villanelle is used to leave behind. Villanelle's frightened, disconsolate, confused and damned lost face is the last ruthless frame that is delivered to us, leaving us all with an obvious upset and with the awareness that from now on things could go even more wrong than they have done so far.

    image.png

    image.png

  7. Killing Eve: Still Got It@serialfiller2241d

    image.png

    Tunnel Wave.png

By the fourth episode Killing Eve seems to have nothing more to prove. She has raised the stakes since the first episode. 2 excellent deaths, how else to call the murders of 2 regular series, if not top-notch? Another important character almost died. Villanelle and Eve dangerously in contact for a minute. The fourth episode of Killing Eve is atypical from the beginning, with the substitution of the writings with personal names and not city names. 10 minutes each for Carolyn, Eve, Jonas and Dasha. 10 minutes to frame the evolution of the situation of each of them to bring the 4 storylines together in the bloody and shocking finale. One of the bloodiest and probably unexpected deaths in recent serial years. As always original in staging an unorthodox and effective killing. As always impeccable in the construction of the pathos and the detonation of a bomb that inevitably changes everything. Eve will no longer have any reason to be "faithful" to Villanelle. The latter will no longer have any reason to feel herself master of her destiny. In the middle of this sentimental drama in red sauce there are always very special characters, grotesque and pungent, as well as this extraordinary series.

  8. Killing Eve: 3x03 Meetings Have Biscuits@serialfiller2250d

    Tunnel Wave.png

Fingers crossed but... it would seem that Killing Eve has decided to give us a sensational season. After an excellent first vintage, a second good one followed, at times excellent but not at the level of the first. The third season seems to be even better than the first. The dialogues are sensational, the story is full of intrigue, the characters are sublimely developed, the actors in dazzling form. Nothing better than enjoying the show. After the events of the second season, here we are at the new point of contact between Eve and Villanelle. Their obsession leads them to continually attract each other, despite everything. Villanelle would like to forget Eve. Eve would like to remember Vilanelle. Both of them, rationally they would like to "kill" the memory and the presence of the other. In the meantime the investigation goes on and the turning point seems close, very close but.... Turning point. A decisive moment and turned beautifully. But there's another unforgettable moment. Blasphemous, violent yet beautiful.

    Villanelle and the little girl.

Villanelle, the maid and the little girl. Villanelle, Dasha and the girl.

How many other authors would have had the courage to think, write and shoot those scenes?

  9. Killing Eve: 3x02 - Management Sucks@serialfiller2251d

    Tunnel Wave.png

Vilanelle at the management test? How will it end? As always the authors manage to make a situation like this grotesque. A psychopathic killer intent on "training" a young resource. The reference to on-the-job training in companies all over the world is evident, and how incredibly successful. The interactions involving Villanelle are always exhilarating and sparkling. Jodie Comer seems to have been born to play this role. Always over the top but never really over the top. In fact, her character always seems authentic, always stunning but in part. It will end badly, of course. But it'll be good for something. To the viewer to enjoy large fragments of the episode. To the plot to advance. To the character to grow, to develop. In the meantime Eve has to live with what happened to Kenny and in a very surreal way will manage to involve Carolyn in what promises to be a complex and desperate investigation.

    Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Vilanelle alla prova della gestione? Come andrà a finire?

Phoebe Waller - Bridge. For 3 years I've been asking you to write this name down. Today she's a celebrity. A staple of seriality or rather of world authorship. Her face and signature behind the jewel of jewels (Fleabag), her pen behind the now acclaimed Killing Eve. And here she is back Eve, alive and well after the cliffangher that had concluded the second season. She comes back alive and well despite Villanelle's shooting. She is and will remain the only reason to regret the development of the screenplay. A ruthless and infallible killer like Villanelle could really miss the target and not finish the job? Or is there something else? We'll find out. What's certain is that the start of the third season seems light years away from wanting to slow down, from wanting to move away from the climate that had marked the first two seasons. On the contrary. After having "deceived" us with a slow and compressed start, at the end of the episode the coup de grace starts, the one you don't expect and everything upsets and everything starts again. A cliffangher perhaps even more powerful than the past ones, because it involves a marginal character for us spectators but fundamental for the life and psyche, already strongly hovering, of Eve. A cliffangher that casts strong shadows and thick mystery on what happened and obviously enormous curiosity about the future.

Phoebe Waller - Bridge.

  12. Killing Eve 2: waiting the 3rd season@serialfiller2258d

    Tunnel Wave.png

The year 2018 was a great year for seriality. Many new series of the highest level among which stood out the flight "Killing Eve" series designed by Phoebe Waller Bridge with protagonists Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer.

To trivialize and categorize according to predefined styles and patterns we could identify the series as a spy story. Categorization very very lax considering the nuances and the mix of genres that Waller Bridge (creator of that Fleabag's jewel) gave birth to.

At the center a spy story that was and has always been functional to the story of the relationship between the 2 protagonists, a relationship that we could define sick and ambiguous between prey and hunter, between law and outlaw, between cop and thief, between light and shadow.

The second season focused much less on action, without ever denying great thriller and action moments, and much more on the relationship between Villanelle and Eve.

For a product so smoky, so amorphous, so indecipherable it was difficult to repeat at certain levels. Killing Eve obviously succeeded.

8 dense episodes, very full of unexpected twists and turns and a constant warning on the danger of an approach between 2. A literal atomic bomb ready to explode at any time.

Eve has gradually lost all her certainties. Did she do it because she was attracted by Villanelle or because of Villanelle? Eve has moved away from her affections because she is unconsciously pushed towards Villanelle or because her "professional" obsession with the serial killer has prevented her from keeping her oaths and promises in the personal sphere.

The series is enriched by the nuances of Eve Polastri as well as those of Villanelle. She can play on their faces, microexpressions and unspoken thanks to the skill of the 2 actresses.

The poles of the magnet attract, repel each other, still attract and repel each other. They touch each other without ever touching except to hurt themselves, to hurt themselves like blades between splatter moments like Rodriguez and grotesque tensions like Coen. Very black humor mixed with very British gags, psychological insights mixed with absurd and never banal characters.

The veins and colours of Killing Eve make it unique and inimitable and difficult to tell, just like Fleabag.

The ending is surprising. It beats and brings us back to the third season. It keeps us breathless as it did for some final seasons of Lost or Breaking Bad, with all due respect. The level is confirmed high, very high and this is the biggest victory for a product that started without expectations and ended up becoming to date a top 10 series among those on the air.

Humor nerissimo mescolato a gag molto british, approfondimenti psicologici mescolati a personaggi assurdi e mai banali.

  13. Killing Eve Season 2 – Spoiler Free Review@readingdanvers2280d

    killing eve 2.jpg

This season was so good! I am not sure how I feel about the ending, but wow what I show in general. It's just 8 episodes per season so I watched this season in a day and a half. It's not a problem when the recommendation is to stay indoors.

While the previous season focused on the relationship and the obsession developing between Eve Polastri (played by Sandra Oh) and Villanelle (played by Jodie Comer), this season is all about twists and turns in the plot.

Man the plot is just freaking amazing. Sure, there were more than a few surprises during the last season, but in this season turned it up to eleven. Almost every episode ended with a mouth drop. Like wow. This is more than just some backstabbing, this is some crazy stuff.

Also the character development for Polastri was also surprising and astonishing. When I think about where she started the show vs. her in the finale episode, it is mindboggling. It was so much fun and interesting to watch.

You can tell that everyone on the show just loves what they are doing and I loved watching it.

Why is season 3 not out yet?

  14. Killing Eve Season 1 – Spoiler Free Review@readingdanvers2283d

    Killing Eve.jpg

Wow this is an amazing show. And totally crazy. The shows follows Eve Polastri (played by Sandra Oh) who works for the government in an investigating role. She discovered that a recent murder that they investigate is actually the work of a serial killer called Villanelle (played by Jodie Comer). Villanelle works for unknown organization. She is a very interesting psychopath.

Once Villanelle becomes aware that Polastri is investigating her, she begins to take interest in Polastri. Then Polastri gets recruit to an MI6 department whose only objective is to find Villanelle. Making things a lot more intense for the two women. That is where the show gets really crazy. They develop a really really bizarre relationship that the name love-hate relationship doesn't even begin cover. It is much more than that. Obviously it is totally crazy.

The show is brilliant. All of the characters are great. Each one with their own unique and slightly eccentric traits. The dialogue is great. Even the fake accents work occasionally. The clothe choices are also brilliant, you can tell that a woman is behind the show through all of the little details (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). The song choices are also really brilliant. It feels like a show with a nice budget and brilliant people behind the scenes.

If are looking for something excellent to binge, I recommend this show. If you like drama, if you like police shows about killers, or just great TV, you will love it.

  15. Killing Eve - My First thoughts@unbiasedwriter2605d

I just discovered the BBC America show named Killing Eve. I have read about several BBC shows and also watch several of them lately, but Killing Eve didn't catch my attention at once. But, then I just noticed that the second season recently finished airing on BBC American, and that is why it caught my interest.

By now, I have watched the first two episodes of Killing Eve in the first season, and since I can watch them on BBC in England as well, that is how I watched the series. But, since Killing Eve is a BBC America production, you cannot watch the second season on BBC in England yet, only on BBC in the USA. But, that requires an expensive cable subscription of some kind, so it is actually quite hard to find a way to watch Killing Eve season 2 online. It cannot be found on Netflix or other streaming services like Amazon Prime either. But, the first season is at least available completely for free on BBC in England, so that is a good place to start, or you can stream it on TV in Australia (online as well).

But, before you get to season 2, it might be a good idea to start with season 1. I was quite surprised by the first two episodes because I imagined some crazy spy drama with two super spies (or something like that) trying to catch one another. But instead, we meet Eve, a British copper who is a total mess (or if not a total mess, then at least messy). But, after two episodes, I am starting to get the feeling that she is smarter than we all would imagine at first, but she is still not the super smart spy and full of self-confidence like you would expect from a person like that.

Ps: Killing Eve is created by Phoebe Mary Waller-Bridge, the woman who has also created series like Crashing, and also Fleabag (in which she plays the main character herself)... what a productive and talented woman!

And then you have her opposite, the assassin she is supposed to catch. Her name is Villanelle and she is played by Jodie Comer. The assassin also has an interesting personality, both crazy, smart, sexy, and with a strange sense of humor. Our spy hero who is trying to catch Villanelle is played by Sandra Oh, an actor I remember from her appearance in Grey's Anatomy many, many years ago!

To be honest, this definitely looks like a TV series I will continue to watch. It has been kind of hard to grasp so far, but it has a humor to it, while it is interesting, and at the same time exciting and with some real action to it. But, it isn't really for kids, because the way in which our assassin kills an older man in the second episode was just brutal (and you get to see it quite clearly as well). I don't like that stuff so I looked away... (just as a little warning from me).

If you are interested in Killing Eve, give it a try by streaming it on BBC iPlayer or somewhere else on the net. It is interesting, and it is kind of different since the ladies are all in the focus (as they often are when Phoebe Waller-Bridge is the director).

Have you seen Killing Eve? How did you like the show? Have you seen the second season as well? I would love to hear your thoughts and your comments on the series!
