   I finally finished watching this series, which is as beautiful as it is sad. I wouldn't know how to precisely decide whether it was more sad than beautiful or vice versa, but what I do know for sure is that I loved watching it.

   Finalmente terminé de ver esta serie tan hermosa como triste, no sabría precisar si lo pongo en una balanza si fue más triste que hermosa o viceversa, pero lo que sí sé con seguridad es que adoré verla.

   It's about a little boy (4 years old) who lives completely alone in an apartment. At first, this is a mystery, but as time goes by, his neighbors get to know him better, discovering his personality and why it seems no one takes care of him. Among all the neighbors, the person Kotaro spends the most time with and gets along best with is the comic book artist, or mangaka, as the Japanese call him, maybe because in a way he also has a somewhat tragic past. But the best thing about the whole series is seeing how this child, lonely as he is, tries to survive in a world of adults, fending for himself with courage and fortitude.

   Se trata de un niño pequeño (4 años) que vive completamente solo en un apartamento, al principio esto es un misterio, pero a medida que pasa el tiempo sus vecinos van conociéndolo mejor, descubriendo así su personalidad y porqué al parecer nadie se hace cargo de él. Entre todos los vecinos, la persona con la que Kotaro pasa más tiempo y se lleva mejor es con el dibujante de comics, o mangaka, como le llaman los japoneses, tal vez porque de cierta manera también tiene un pasado algo trágico, pero lo mejor de toda la serie es ver como este niño, así, solitario como es, trata de sobrevivir en un mundo de adultos, valiéndose por si mismo con valentía y entereza.

   This anime made me reflect on many things, but especially made me appreciate and value my own childhood, knowing that despite not being a rich girl, I actually always had everything I needed and even what I wanted: a home, protection, food, education, health and above all affection. Kotaro Lives Alone aims to delve into a social problem that Japanese society often tries to avoid with its secrecy: child abuse. This is not just about yelling or hitting but about neglect and indifference towards children. But the most curious thing of all is that the series addresses it from a subtle perspective, which you only realize with your discernment as an adult.

   Este anime me hizo reflexionar sobre muchas cosas, pero en especial me hizo apreciar y valorar mi propia niñez, saber que a pesar de que no fui una niña rica, en realidad siempre tuve todo lo que necesité e incluso lo que quise: casa, protección, comida, educación, salud y sobre todo afecto. Kotaro vive solo pretende profundizar en un problema social que muchas veces la sociedad japonesa con su hermetismo quiso eludir, el cuál es el maltrato infantil, el cuál no solo se trata de gritos o golpes sino de desidia e indiferencia hacia los niños, pero lo más curioso de todo es que la serie lo aborda desde un enfoque sutil, del cuál solo te das cuenta con tu discernimiento de adulto.

   Kotaro steals everyone's hearts for his tenderness, but also for his nobility, he likes to share what he has and cares about others, despite his young age he does not let himself be absorbed by problems, but tries to learn and above all improve or "become strong" as he says, and the reason for all this is what breaks the viewer's heart when he discovers it, however I think that the anime also intends to convey an important message, and that is that you can always count on true friendship, those who are capable of discovering what ails you without you mentioning it, although even in that the Japanese are so hermetic, they do not like to talk about their problems and that only makes matters worse.

   Kotaro se roba el corazón de todos por su ternura, per también por su nobleza, le gusta compartir lo que tiene y se preocupa por los demás, a pesar de su corta edad no se deja absorber por los problemas, sino que trata de aprender y sobre todo mejorar o "volverse fuerte" como dice él, y la razón de todo ello es lo que rompe el corazón del espectador cuando lo descubre, sin embargo pienso que el anime también pretende transmitir un mensaje importante, y es que siempre se puede contar con amistad verdadera, aquellos que son capaces de descubrir lo que te aqueja sin que lo menciones, aunque hasta en eso son tan herméticos los japoneses, no les gusta hablar de sus problemas y eso solo agrava el asunto.

   But Kotaro will not only learn along the way, but he will also give valuable lessons to everyone around him, for example, Shin Karino (the comic book artist), frustrated and disappointed with life, with a tendency to be messy, learns to be responsible and in fact is the one who assumes a more paternal role with Kotaro, everyone worries about him but Shin Karino is the one who feels closest to his little neighbor and friend.

   Pero Kotaro no solo aprenderá en su camino, sino que también dará valiosas lecciones a todos a su alrededor, por ejemplo, Shin Karino (el dibujante de comics), frustrado y decepcionado de la vida, con tendencia al desorden, aprende a tener responsabilidad y de hecho es quien asume un rol más paternal con Kotaro, todos se preocupan por él pero Shin Karino es quién se siente más cercano a su pequeño vecino y amigo.

   Hello, friends, today I'm here to recommend an anime that I recently found on Netflix and that I think is terribly underrated, but of course now I have to tell you what it's about (without spoilers, obviously, even though I'm one of those people who loves spoilers 😄), but I need you to know at least the basics of this anime so you can understand it and decide whether it appeals to you or not.

   Hola, amigos, hoy vengo a recomendarles un anime que encontré recientemente en Netflix y que pienso que está terriblemente infravalorado, pero desde luego ahora tengo que contarles de qué se trata (sin spoilers obviamente, aunque soy de las personas que sí ama los spiolers 😄) pero necesito que conozcan al menos la base de este anime para que puedan entenderlo y así decidir si les llama la atención o no.

   Overview/Resumen

   In an apartment complex where a diverse group of characters live, such as a girl who works as an escort, a gangster, and a manga artist who writes great stories but draws terribly, a new tenant arrives. He is a 4-year-old boy who lives completely alone, But what is most surprising is his self-sufficiency, as he is independent in every way, even speaking and behaving like an adult, using a very formal vocabulary, like a feudal lord. Where are his parents? Where does he get the money to live on his own? These are two of the first questions that come to mind when you start watching the series, but they are answered throughout the 10 episodes through flashbacks and deductions and discoveries made by the other characters.

   En un conjunto de apartamentos donde viven personajes muy variopintos, como una chica que trabaja como dama de compañía, un gánster y un mangaka que aunque escribe muy buenas historias hace unos dibujos terribles, llega un nuevo inquilino, se trata de un niño de 4 años que vive completamente solo, pero además de esto lo que más sorprende es su autosuficiencia, ya que es independiente en todos los sentidos, incluso habla y se comporta como un adulto, manejando además un vocabulario muy formal, como de señor feudal ¿Dónde están sus padres? ¿De dónde saca el dinero para vivir por su cuenta? son dos de las primeras preguntas que surgen en tu mente cuando inicias a ver la serie, pero estas se van respondiendo a lo largo de los 10 episodios entre flashbacks y también deducciones descubrimientos de los otros personajes.

   My Opinion/Mi Opinión

   The first thing you should know is that the anime will fill you with tenderness from start to finish, but it's so full of cute, hilarious, and all kinds of situations that it takes the viewer on a real roller coaster of emotions. It even stirred my non-existent maternal instincts 😄 Of course, at the beginning you feel uncertain in the face of so many unanswered questions, but the intention of the anime is not for you to rush to find out what happened to Kotaro, why he is alone, or why he behaves in a certain way. Rather, the intention is for you to get to know him little by little, just as the other characters in the series gradually discover him.

   Lo primero que debes saber es que el anime te llenara de ternura en todo momento, desde el inicio hasta el final, pero está tan lleno de situaciones tiernas, hilarantes y de todo tipo que generan en el espectador una verdadera montaña rusa de emociones, incluso removió mi inexistente instinto maternal 😄 Por supuesto que al inicio sientes incertidumbre ante tantas preguntas sin respuestas pero la intención del anime no es que te precipites en saber qué sucedió con Kotaro, porqué está solo o porque se comporta de determinada manera, sino que la intención es que vayas conociéndolo poco a poco, así como los demás personajes de la serie lo van descubriendo paulatinamente.

   Something very important to note is that the anime explores very difficult topics, raw and unpleasant situations that cause pain, but it does so very subtly, precisely from an innocent perspective. As an adult, you are perfectly capable of understanding the signs, which helps us reflect on several issues: we must not ignore what is happening around us; we need each other.

   Algo muy importante a resaltar es que el anime explora temas muy difíciles, situaciones crudas y desagradables que generan dolor, pero lo hace con mucha sutileza, precisamente desde una perspectiva inocente, tú como adulto eres perfectamente capaz de entender las señales, lo que nos ayuda a reflexionar sobre varios asuntos: no debemos ignorar lo que sucede a nuestro alrededor, nos necesitamos los unos a los otros.

   The anime's aesthetic is a bit unusual, but this is most evident in the main character, Kotaro, especially in his unusual pupils. However, this is completely intentional; it is a way of expressing the true feelings and emotions that the character tries to hide, which I cannot discuss in this review without revealing a key part of the story. But I like it because it is an original device. The manga and anime also have an interesting narrative, revealing those key points in a subtle way, but this does not affect the pace of the story at all. It does not feel slow or heavy. On the contrary, you focus on discovering the character little by little, enjoying his unique personality and the way he navigates the adult world, even how he interacts with other children. but the main objective is to highlight an important social reality that is part of the lives of many people around the world and affects many families, something that leads us to think that, fortunately, just because we haven't gone through it or don't know anyone around us who has had to live through it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

   La estética del anime es un poco particular pero se evidencia más en el personaje principal, Kotaro, en especial en sus ojos de pupilas inusuales, pero esto es completamente adrede, es una forma de expresar los verdaderos sentimientos y emociones que que personaje pretende esconder y de los cuales no puedo hablarles en esta review sin revelar algo clave de la historia, pero me gusta porque es un recurso original. El manga y el anime manejan también una narrativa interesante, revelando esos puntos clave de manera sutil, pero esto no afecta para nada el ritmo de la historia, no se siente lento ni pesado, al contrario, te enfocas en descubrir el personaje poco a poco, disfrutando de su particular forma de ser y la manera en que se desenvuelve en un mundo de adultos, incluso como interactúa con otros niños, pero el objetivo principal es denotar un trasfondo sobre una realidad social importante que forma parte de la vida de muchas personas alrededor del mundo y que afecta a muchas familias, algo que nos lleva a pensar que, el hecho de que afortunadamente no hayamos pasado por eso o no conozcamos a alguien a nuestro alrededor que haya tenido que vivirlo, no significa que no suceda.

   Anyway, I really recommend this anime from the bottom of my heart because there's no way you won't love it. In fact, one of the things that attracted me from the start is that it only has ten episodes, so you can watch it in a couple of days or even in one, depending on how much time you have. But I warn you that the story and emotions will completely envelop you, taking you from laughter to tears and vice versa. then it will immerse you in deep existential reflections, but you will undoubtedly enjoy it🤗.

   En fin, de verdad te recomiendo de corazón este anime porque no tienes forma de no amarlo, de hecho una de las cosas que me atrajo desde un inicio es que solo consta de diez episodios, así que lo puedes ver en un par de días o incluso en un, depende de tu disponibilidad de tiempo, pero te advierto que la historia y las emociones te envolverán totalmente, pasando de la risa al llanto y viceversa, luego te sumergirá en profundas reflexiones existenciales pero sin duda lo disfrutarás🤗.

   El dia de ayer terminé de ver "Kotaro vive solo", un anime que no buscara llenarte de tristeza sino de melancolia, ya que la historia parte por parte de Kotaro un niño de 4 años que ha comenzado a vivir solo en un departamento y son sus vecinos los que al conocerlo comenzaran a interactuar con el. Es por obvias razones en las que poco a poco podemos ir descubriendo su pasado oscuro de Kotaro que no los va dejando poco a poco no llegando al punto en que te ponga triste el anime, pero te da una sensación de melancolía mezclado con felicidad por el largo de la serie.

   Ver a Kotaro es ver a alguien muy maduro para su edad de 4 años, casi portándose como un señor hecho y derecho que incluso termina haciendo que sus vecinos se vuelvan mas responsables en su vida y les ayude a resolverla, pero también con la inmadurez que un niño de su edad puede tener. Incluso Kotaro es alguien que confía muy fácilmente en las personas y que cuando alguien suele engañarlo suele saber las razones por las que se hacen las cosas.

   Cada personaje que existe en este anime esta construido de tal forma que se apega a la realidad de como puede ser una persona que incluso puedes terminar identificándote con alguno y que saben llevar la serie, e incluso cuando sientes que vas a adivinar que es lo que va a pasar termine pasando algo diferente.

   Con solo 10 episodios puedes aventarte esta serie en un fin de semana en el que no tengas nada que hacer, ademas es ligera de ver, que aunque como mencione tiene temas que pueden ser muy fuertes, sabe aligerar la carga de emoción y se vuelve una serie fácil de digerir.

   Pero esos mismos 10 episodios hacen que quieras saber mas, pues al termino de la misma hay mucha trama que aun esta por resolverse o que al menos a mi me dejo picado con ganas de conocer mas y para ser sincero no se que tan grande sea su manga o si esta basado en una novela visual.

   Por ultimo quiero mencionar que el doblaje es bueno y comico, siento que quedo perfecto justamente para la forma en que es la serie, por si la quieren ver con el doblaje.

   Asi que no esperen mas y denle una oportunidad a esta serie y si ya la vieron diganme que les parecio la misma.

   Posdata: Esta serie abrio como dos heridas guardadas de mi infancia 😢

   Last night, I binge-watched this animated series on Netflix which is entitled, "Kotaro Lives Alone". I had no idea what the anime or the story was about, but I watched it anyway. I simply just got curious with the title and the thumbnail because the Kotaro mentioned in the title is a 4-year old boy.

   The character you see above is Satou Kotaro and he is only 4 years old. In the anime, he just transferred to an apartment beside a struggling manga artist named Shin Karino. This 4-year old boy lives alone and is trying to live his life the "bushido" way. "Bushido" is the samurai way of life, meaning, it gives importance on honor, self-discipline, bravery and simple living.
   I suppose he was kind of influenced by his favorite anime called Tonosaman who is a samurai and is living in the same way. He also speaks similarly to that era in Japan like using the title "dono" instead of "san" which is common nowadays.
   Basically, the anime shows how this little boy try to live his day-to-day life. Allow me to share the trailer below...

   As you can see in the trailer, even though he lives alone, he's surrounded by adults. They are his neighbors and they actually love Kotaro, so they try their best to take care of him in their own way.

   From the left, they are (1) Isamu Tamaru, (2) Shin Karino and (3) Akitomo Mitsuki. These three really played a vital role in Kotaro's everyday life. They also have their own circumstances and somehow, being with Kotaro has also affected their decisions and way of thinking.
   In the anime, Kotaro is also seen with other adults who has been a part of his past and also his friends who he met in his present. He's kind of popular because he's not only cute, but really has an interesting personality.

   To be honest, I really thought that this was just another feel-good and slow-paced story just like Gakuen Babysitters, but I thought wrong. There's much more to this story. I must say it's pretty deep and there are a lot of things we can learn from it. I got pretty emotional when watching it that I cried several times. Every episode was truly heartwarming. It might be a bit depressing especially when you can relate to the circumstances presented, but it'll be an eye-opener.
   I never expected this anime to be this good. The art style might not be the best, but story wise? it'll really pull at your heartstrings. I won't be talking about these circumstances here, because I want you guys to watch it. It only has 10 episodes, but I'm actually hoping for a second season... or I'd read the manga instead. After watching it, I just wished I could go to his world and hug him. You'd probably feel the same. ^^
   I really highly recommend it... and when you're done watching, tell me what you think. :)
