   Al ver una portada con la imagen de Morgan Freeman y Clive Owen, pensarías inmediatamente que estás ante una maravilla de producción por ser actores reconocidos en Hollywood sobretodo si hablamos de Freeman, pero a veces las apariencias pueden engañar, en lo personal tenía tiempo tentada en si ver o no ver esta película, porque no conocía ni había leído nada sobre ella, así que decidí arriesgarme ya que me gustan mucho las películas ambientadas en la época medieval.

   When you see a cover with the image of Morgan Freeman and Clive Owen, you would immediately think that you are facing a wonderful production because they are recognized actors in Hollywood especially if we talk about Freeman, but sometimes appearances can be deceiving, personally I had time tempted whether or not to see this movie, because I did not know or had not read anything about it, so I decided to take a chance because I really like movies set in medieval times.

   En la sinopsis podemos encontrar una pequeña muestra de lo que podría indicar que estamos delante de una gran historia, donde un noble fiel a sus principios y valores, decide poner de primero el bienestar de sus sirvientes antes que cumplir con las órdenes del emperador, por lo cual es castigado y mandado a ejecutar, pero eso acto no se quedará así, sus leales caballeros juran vengarlo.

   Y realmente no quiero contar más pero en la sinopsis te cuentan prácticamente todo de lo que va esta historia y con la apertura de Freeman pensarías que lo que viene se pondrá buenísimo, pero resulta ser que no es así. Puedo decir que sí encontrarán escenas de acciones y peleas a muerte un poquito sangrientas, con una ambientación de la época medieval, pero en realidad solo se centra en contar la historia de uno de los caballeros y súbditos del noble asesinado Bartok, Raiden quien quedo destrozado por la muerte de a quien consideraba como a un padre.

   And I really don't want to tell you more but the synopsis tells you pretty much everything about what this story is about and with Freeman's opening you would think that what's to come is going to get really good, but it turns out that's not the case. I can say that you will find some bloody action scenes and fights to the death, with a medieval setting, but it really just focuses on telling the story of one of the knights and subjects of the murdered nobleman Bartok, Raiden who was devastated by the death of the one he considered like a father.

   Luego de esto intentan engañarnos con una especie de trampa despista bobos o algo así que se termina convirtiendo en algo completamente predecible de esperar y que tal vez podemos destacar la parte de la ejecución final de la venganza de los guerreros, que llevaron a cabo con una gran destreza el asalto al castillo donde se encontraba aquel hombre encargado de sobornar a todos los nobles de la nación para que por siempre complacieran todas sus peticiones de hombre corrupto.

   Me hubiera encantado que contarán mucho más sobre como se desarrollo la relación entre Bartok y Raiden, y así poder establecer una conexión más profunda con el espectador, porque lo que se cuenta es muy superficial y no da tiempo a crear lazos con los personajes, realmente la historia que se cuenta es una pequeña parte de la vida de Raiden y como el noble Bartok lo ayudo.

   I would have loved for them to tell much more about how the relationship between Bartok and Raiden developed, and thus be able to establish a deeper connection with the viewer, because what is told is very superficial and does not give time to create bonds with the characters, real.

   Tampoco se cuenta la historia de quien es el emperador, no sabemos nada sobre los nobles, ni del hombre corrupto que se encarga de cobrar los sobornos de los nobles, no se desarrollan los personajes que dan vida a los guerreros que son leales a Bartok, así que honestamente sabemos muy poco de todos, no hay profundidad en esta historia que te permita sumerjirte en la trama.

   Do you like watching movies or series crushed by critics? I usually don't, since if they are so bad why watch them.

   For example, the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, although it is a series that introduces a new heroine that belongs to a new generation, the truth was so bad that many fans were disappointed, and this was not because it had a bad heroine, but rather because the script or the plot was very weak and did not lead anywhere. That's why I almost never watch those movies or series that are destroyed by critics or the internet.

   But, when a movie or series crushed or rather trashed by critics has very interesting actors or actors of weight or you could also say if it has iconic actors that have captivated us in other performances, it is hard to overlook it and even if everyone says it is the worst movie or series in the world, there may always be intentions to watch it.

   This you are reading happened to me a few days ago, when on family movie day a new Netflix suggestion came out called Last Knights, a King Arthur style brawl movie with two very good actors in the industry Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman, that if you watch the trailer on YouTube or Netflix you will find the story very intriguing.

   But when I searched for the name of this movie on YouTube to read some reviews of its quality, I found only bad reviews from critics, in fact, it had such a low review that I was shocked for a movie that featured Morgan Freeman, Last Knights had a 3.3/10 rating and a positive reception of only 16%. Wow I don't think even Ms Marvel was that harshly trashed.

   But, even though the internet was desperately screaming at me not to see it, I decided to give it a chance as Clive Owen's performance as a warrior is very good, in fact, his performance in King Arthur was flawless, so as it was a similar role I knew it would live up to it, and I was not disappointed in Clive Owen's role as Raiden a knight who wants to restore honor to his master's house.

   The story of Last Knights begins with Morgan Freeman playing an elderly nobleman named Bartok, Clive Owen is a tenacious and battle-hardened servant of Bartok and helps him expel invaders or enemies from the lands his master controls. But as in all Medieval Fiefdoms, Bartok has to be accountable to a king, and also face a corrupt prime minister who plots to get rid of Bartok.

   And after this corrupt prime minister achieves his goal and causes Bartok's name and family to be erased from history and his lands to disappear from the Bartok clan, Raiden along with his fellow knights plan a revenge to restore their master's honor and name and to return the lands to Bartok's family, in addition to fighting their own demons.

   I have to admit that the plot is not the eighth wonder of the world, in fact, I had to repeat it several times to be able to understand some things. But among what I consider to be poorly done or with a bad development is without a clear purpose of the story, since Raiden wants to restore the honor of the Bartok clan, but after he does it nothing else happens, there is no small scene that explains what happened next.

   The ambitious villain, but without ambition at the same time, the main villain is the corrupt prime minister, but after he achieves his goal of removing Bartok from his path nothing else happens, he has no more ambition and after the beginning he loses his character identity and completely changes the sense of being a villain.

   Morgan Freeman dies very fast, it is supposed that if in a movie a very recognized actor in Hollywood appears on the cover, it would be expected that at least he lasts some time on screen or at least that his character has a lot of weight, but I can not say this about Morgan Freeman, because after 7 minutes he dies and does not appear again in the whole movie, which made me doubt if they only put Morgan Freeman on the cover to sell more and because the other secondary actors but with more weight in the film were not so recognized? Or because it is extremely necessary that he appears?

   But not everything is bad or negative, the movie also has a story that can catch you, if you are into the medieval and action genre. For example, the battles are amazing, Clive Owen performs very well in combat as he did in King Arthur. The plan Clive Owen makes to avenge his master's death comes across as very ingenious and amazing, and if you pay close attention to the movie you may be impressed by how well crafted it is.

   It highlights how important it was for a man to be loyal to his master and the code of chivalry. This is something that fascinates me in a story, that show the true values of the people of the time, because to make a movie many directors or producers only seek an attractive story for the public and that sells a lot, but often it is something totally unreal or fantasy that no one likes. But in this film the whole story is very close to reality.

   So my recommendation for you about this movie is, watch it, you will like it and although in some scenes it loses the sense, I know you will like the ending and it will leave you in intrigue, it is a very good movie where the actors are very attached to the emotions and makes you get caught in the story.

   ¿Te gusta ver películas o series aplastadas por la crítica? Normalmente yo no lo hago, ya que si son tan malas porque verlas.

   Por ejemplo, la serie de Disney+ Ms. Marvel, aunque es una serie que presenta a una nueva heroína que pertenece a una nueva generación, la verdad estuvo tan mala que a muchos fans decepciono, y esto no fue porque tenía una mala heroína, más bien fue por el guion o la trama muy débil y que no llevaba a ningún lado. Por eso casi nunca veo aquellas películas o series que son destruidas por los críticos o el internet.

   Pero, cuando una película o serie aplastada o más bien destrozada por la crítica tiene actores muy interesantes o actores de peso o también podría decirse que si tiene actores icónicos que nos han cautivado en otras actuaciones, es difícil pasarla por alto y aunque todo el mundo diga que es la peor película o serie del mundo, siempre puede que haya intenciones de verla.

   Esto que estas leyendo me paso hace unos días, cuando el día de películas familiar salió una nueva sugerencia de Netflix llamada Last Knights, una película de peleas al estilo del rey Arturo con dos actores muy buenos en la industria Clive Owen y Morgan Freeman, que si ves el tráiler en YouTube o Netflix la historia te parecerá muy intrigante.

   Pero al buscar el nombre de esta película en YouTube para leer algunas reseñas de su calidad, me encontré con únicamente reseñas malas de parte de la crítica, de hecho, tenía una reseña tan baja que me impresiono tratándose de una película que tenía a Morgan Freeman, Last Knights tenía una calificación de 3.3/10 y una receptividad positiva de tan solo el 16%. Wow yo creo que ni siquiera Ms Marvel fue tan duramente destrozada.

   Pero, aunque el internet me gritaba desesperadamente que no la viera, decidí darle una oportunidad ya que la actuación de Clive Owen como un guerrero es muy buena, de hecho, su actuación en el rey Arturo estuvo impecable, así que como se trataba de un papel similar sabía que estaría a la altura, y la verdad no me decepcione del papel de Clive Owen como Raiden un caballero que quiere restaurar el honor de la casa de su amo.

   La historia de Last Knights comienza con Morgan Freeman que interpreta a un anciano noble llamado Bartok, Clive Owen es un tenaz y aguerrido siervo de Bartok y le ayuda a expulsar invasores o enemigos de las tierras que controla su amo. Pero como en todo Feudo Medieval, Bartok tiene que rendir cuentas a un rey, y enfrentarse también a un primer ministro corrupto que le tiende una trama para deshacerse de Bartok.

   Y luego de que este primer ministro corrupto logra su objetivo y hace que el nombre de Bartok y su familia queden eliminados de la historia y sus tierras desaparezcan del clan Bartok, Raiden junto con sus compañeros caballeros planea una venganza para restaurar el honor y nombre de su amo y poder devolverle las tierras a la familia de Bartok, Además de luchar contra sus propios demonios.

   Mi opinión

   Tengo que admitir que la trama no es la octava maravilla del mundo, de hecho, tuve repetirla varias veces para poder entender algunas cosas. Pero de entre lo que considero que está mal hecho o con un mal desarrollo es sin un propósito claro de la historia, ya que Raiden quiere restaurar el honor del clan Bartok, pero luego que lo hace no pasa más nada, no hay alguna pequeña escena que explique que paso luego.

   El villano ambicioso, pero sin ambición a la vez, el villano principal es el primer ministro corrupto, pero luego que logra su objetivo de quitar a Bartok de su camino no pasa más nada, no tiene más ambición y luego del principio pierde su identidad de personaje y cambia completamente el sentido de ser un villano.

   Morgan Freeman muere muy rápido, se supone que si en una película salga un actor muy reconocido en Hollywood en la portada, se esperaría que por lo menos dure algo de tiempo en pantalla o al menos que tenga mucho peso su personaje, pero no puedo decir esto de Morgan Freeman, ya que luego de 7 minutos muere y no sale más en toda la película, lo cual me genero dudas sobre si solo pusieron a Morgan Freeman en la portada para vender más y porque los otros actores secundarios pero con más peso en la película no eran tan reconocidos? ¿O porque es sumamente necesario que salga?

   Pero no todo es malo o negativo, la película también tiene una historia que te puede atrapar, si eres del género medieval y acción. Por ejemplo, las batallas son increíbles, Clive Owen se desempeña muy bien en el combate tal como lo hizo en el rey Arturo. El plan que hace Clive Owen para vengar la muerte de su amo resulta muy ingenioso y asombroso, y si prestas mucha atención a la película te puede impresionar lo bien elaborado que es.

   Resalta lo importante que era para un hombre su lealtad a su amo y al código de caballeros. Esto es algo que me fascina de una historia, que muestren los valores verdaderos de las personas de la época, ya que por hacer una película muchos directores o productoras solo buscan una historia atractiva para el público y que venda bastante, pero muchas veces es algo totalmente irreal o fantasioso que a nadie le gusta. Pero en esta película toda la historia se apega muy bien a la realidad.

   Y claro hay otras cosas buenas, pero si las escribiera sería mucho spoiler y ya no sería interesante verla.

   Así que mi recomendación para ti sobre esta película es, vela que te gustara y aunque en algunas escenas pierde el sentido, sé que el final te gustara y te dejara en intriga, es una película muy buena que donde los actores se apegan mucho a las emociones y hace que te atrape la historia.
