Hello everyone! How are you? While browsing Netflix, I came across a movie I didn't have much faith in, and I started watching it more to kill time than out of genuine conviction. However, I discovered some interesting things that led me to write this review.

¡Hola Hola, gente de internet! ¿Cómo están? Revisando Netflix me encontré con una película a la que no le tenía mucha fe, y que empecé a ver más con la intención de matar el tedio que por verdadera convicción, sin embargo fui descubriendo cosas interesantes que me llevaron a redactar esta review

Leo is an old lizard and the mascot of a Florida elementary school. When he discovers he only has a year left to live, he seriously considers running away because he can't understand how, in 75 years, he's never experienced adventures outside or known what lies beyond his glass enclosure. But when the substitute teacher, Ms. Malkin, arrives, he truly has a chance. She encourages the children to take the mascot home to foster a sense of responsibility. However, the children discover that Leo can talk, and not only that, but instead of running away, he dedicates himself to listening to the children's needs and advising them about their insecurities and worries.

After watching the film, it immediately made me think about many things, but especially the fear of aging and of not having fulfilled all our planned goals—that terrible fear of having failed or of not having lived enough because, despite reaching a certain age, we never dared to look beyond our own limitations. However, the film, through Leo, leaves us with an invaluable lesson: it doesn't matter how intensely you live life, or whether you dedicated yourself to doing what you wanted, or whether you overcame your own challenges; what matters is the legacy you leave, the advice you give, how others remember you, having given your best to improve a place, a situation, a relationship—that's what truly matters.

Al terminar de ver la película me hizo pensar automáticamente en muchas cosas pero en especial el miedo al envejecimiento y a no haber cumplido con todas las metas previstas, ese terrible miedo a haber fracasado o a no haber vivido lo suficiente porque a pesar de tener cierta edad nunca nos atrevimos a mirar más allá de nuestras propias limitaciones. Sin embargo la película, a través de Leo, nos deja una valiosísima lección, y es que no importan con cuanta intensidad vivas la vida, o si te dedicaste o no a hacer lo que deseabas, si superaste tus propias retos, sino el legad que dejas, los consejos que das, la manera en que otros te recuerden, el haber dado lo mejor de ti para mejorar un espacio, una situación, una relación, eso es lo que importa.

The film also shows us the real fears of children, those insecurities that everyone has and that many of them are different from each other, depending of course on the context of each family: some deal with a lack of self-esteem, others with the overprotection of their parents, others are dealing with their parents' divorce, or suffer bullying at school, in short, but the important thing in the midst of all this is to generate trust to make communication more fluid, and in this way manage to connect with the children to show them that they are not alone.

La película también nos muestra los miedos reales de los niños, esas inseguridades que todos tienen y que muchas de ellas son diferentes entre sí, dependiendo del contexto de cada familia desde luego: algunos lidian con falta de autoestima, otros con la sobreprotección de sus padres, otros están lidiando con el divorcio de sus padres, o sufren acoso escolar, en fin, pero lo importante en medio de todo esto es generar confianza para hacer que la comunicación sea más fluida, y de esta manera lograr conectar son los niños para demostrarles que no están solos.

But we also discover that it's not just children who need help; adults also have traumas and insecurities that often limit their own abilities or end up hurting others, as is the case with Mrs. Malkin. However, Leo also gives her the opportunity to listen to her, to understand her, and ultimately helps her rediscover herself and realize that she is capable of doing many good things, for herself and for others. So, the film truly surprised me in a very pleasant way.

Pero además, también descubrimos que no solo los niños necesitan ayuda, los adultos también tienen traumas e inseguridades que muchas veces limitan sus propias capacidades o terminan lastimando a otros, como es el caso de Sra. Malkin, sin embargo Leo también le da la oportunidad de escucharla para entenderla y finalmente la ayuda a redescubriese a si misma y saber que es capaz de hacer muchas cosas buenas, por si misma y por otros. Así que de verdad la película me terminó sorprendiendo muy gratamente.

›Leo (animated film): A relatively good Adam Sandler animation@netflixr831d
This one comes from Netflix, who I believe Sandler is under contract to do work with exclusively for some period of time or some number of movies. As it stands now I believe the Netflix exclusives with Sandler have been 50% good and 50% terrible. The ones where he includes all of his old pals are the ones that normally end up being bad but I watch them anyway because I appreciate a guy that looks out for his buddies even if their presence normally results in the movie being really stupid such as The Ridiculous 6

I had my reservations about watching Leo because of the fact that it was a Sandler comedy but what changed my mind was both the IMDB rating as well as the fact that it is animated. What I ended up getting treated to was a lot better than I had expected and I am glad that I took the time to watch it.

I suppose the story isn't that important in Sandler movies but I'm gonna give it to ya anyway! Leonardo is a lizard of some sort that lives in a terrarium in a 5th grade classroom along with his turtle buddy named "Squirtle the turtle" and is voiced by Bill Burr. The story is narrated by a number of characters because the story isn't just about the life of "Leo," it is more about the various issues that little kids go through in school and perhaps this was motivated and inspired by the fact that Sandler has 2 daughters. The school that they manufacture in this film isn't terribly representative of any school I have ever seen or heard of and since it is Netflix, the school is very diverse, but that's Netflix so it was expected. At least they didn't try to indoctrinate anyone with this aspect of it.

Basically, the students all have various problems that I think most of us can relate to at some point in our lives and in particular when we were at the awkward age that they are in the film. The students are forced to take one of the terrarium pets home for the weekend each week and while Leo's initial intention during this trip is to escape and head to the outside world and most notably the Everglades, he accidentally reveals to the first girl that he can actually speak when he gets hurt. He has kept this hidden for many years and the idea in the movie is that all animals can speak but they have a strict code to not let humans know this for some reason.

Leo confides in the kid and ends up becoming her friend and helping her with the problems that she is having in school. Leo also tells her that she is the only one that knows he can talk and she mustn't tell anyone else. But then he finds that he can't control himself and he really enjoys helping the students so he ends up talking to all of them and telling them all the same thing about them being the only one that knows.

Because the students have no fear of anyone else finding out about what they confide in Leo with, they spill their guts to him and he ends up helping them a great deal. This is all quite inspiring to the point of getting misty-eyed on my part because well, I guess I am a sucker for someone helping another person out.

Various adventures are built into the story and I'll not say much else about the plot because I don't want to spoil it for potential viewers. Just know that the characters are all pretty great and there is a little bit of every type of person that I can remember from the schools that I attended. There is adult and childlike humor in this movie, so therefore parents and kids can watch this film together and both will enjoy it.

Should I watch it?

This isn't going to change your life all that much but as far as animated films are concerned this is one of the better family-friendly ones that I have seen in a long time. Kids and adults will enjoy this and because it is devoid of any sort of Netflix indoctrination message that they seem to want to include in everything that they do, I think that most people will seriously enjoy it. I give it my stamp of approval!

Happy afternoon to all of you who kindly take the time to read me, I hope you are having a great and productive day. Today I am happy to share with you my opinion about a beautiful movie that I enjoyed a little while ago and I can't deny that I fell in love with it.

I know I've said the same thing several times, but it's true, I usually don't enjoy watching animated movies, they are not my favorite. But there is always a very good movie that makes me say that it is the exception, it has happened to me several times and with Leo it also happened to me. Despite being an animated movie it became one on my list of the ones I would definitely watch again.

On the other hand, animal movies bring out my sensitive side, so I prefer to avoid them so I don't spend days feeling sad. Leo is an animated animal movie, and yet I come to tell you about it, so I hope you understand that if I do, it's because it's definitely special.

Feliz tarde a todos los que amablemente se toman el tiempo de leerme, espero que estén teniendo un día grandioso y productivo. Hoy me contenta poder compartir con ustedes mi opinión sobre una hermosa película de que disfruté hace poquito y de la que no puedo negar que quedé enamorada.

Ya sé que he dicho varias veces lo mismo, pero es cierto, por lo general no disfruto de ver películas animadas, no son mis favoritas. Pero siempre hay una muy buena película que me hace decir que es la excepción, me ha ocurrido varias veces y con Leo también me pasó. Pese a ser una película animada se convirtió en una en mi lista de las que sin duda volvería a ver.

Por otro lado, las películas de animales hacen que saqué de mi, mi lado más sensible, por lo que prefiero evitarlas para no pasar días sintiéndome triste. Leo es una película animada de animales, y aun así vengo a hablarles de ella, así que espero que entiendan que si lo haré, es porque sin duda es especial.

Leo tells the story of a tame tuatara who, along with a turtle named Squirtle, are the mascots of the children in the last grade of elementary school. He has lived several decades and always following the same routine year after school year, time has made it clear that he is aging and is no longer as agile as he used to be.

After overhearing a conversation in which they talk about tuataras, he knew that this would be his last year of life, as he would be 75 years old. Desperate for having lost his whole life locked in a glass box, he decides it is time to escape and go live in the habitat of his species, surrounded by nature and plenty of food to get on his own, so he begins his mission to escape no matter what.

Desesperado por haber perdido toda su vida encerrado en una caja de cristal, decide que es momento de escapar e irse a vivir al hábitat de su especie, rodeado de naturaleza y mucha comida que conseguir por su propia cuenta, así comienza su misión de escapar pase lo que pase.

Pero en ese proceso ocurre algo muy inesperado, abrumado por todo lo que le está ocurriendo alguien se entera de un gran secreto que ha guardado toda su vida y que involucra a los demás animales. Debido a esto y su deseo de poder ser de ayuda antes de morir, se mete en una situación de la que luego le resulta muy difícil salir a la vez que intenta vivir su último año de vida como una tuátaras de verdad.

This movie is quite funny, it made me and my husband laugh a lot, but it also has a very deep message that makes you reflect on your own life and the lives of those around you. And I think a movie that makes you laugh but also think is a must see. But apart from all this, it is a well made and visually pleasing film as well.

It deals with interesting topics, such as old age and how an older adult can feel when for example he has dedicated his life to a job and realizes that he no longer has as much time as he would like to make the most of his life. To fulfill his dreams or to achieve those goals he had set for himself when he was young.

But on the other hand, it teaches us in a funny way that no matter what age we are or what our limitations are, there is always a way to do what we wanted to do, to set new goals and to help others with the experience that life has given us.

Esta película es bastante divertida, me hizo reír muchísimo a mi y a mi esposo, pero también tiene un mensaje sumamente profundo que te hace reflexionar sobre tu propia vida y la de los que te rodean. Y creo que una película que te haga reír pero también pensar es algo que si o si debes ver. Pero a parte de todo esto, es una película bien hecha y que visualmente es agradable también.

Trata temas interesantes, como la vejez y el cómo puede sentirse un adulto mayor cuando por ejemplo ha dedicado su vida a un empleo y se da cuenta de que ya no le queda tanto tiempo como quisiera de aprovechar al máximo su vida. De cumplir sus sueños o de alcanzar aquellas metas que se había puesto de joven.

Pero por otro lado, nos enseña de una manera divertida que no importa cual sea la edad que tengamos o nuestras limitaciones, siempre hay una manera de poder hacer aquello que queríamos hacer, de ponerse nuevas metas y de ayudar a otros también con la experiencia que la vida nos ha dado.

When I saw this movie I felt for a moment like a little girl, since I was a child I have loved animals and I think for a long time I dreamed that animals could talk, in fact like many I told some of my pets that they could talk to me and I would keep the secret, so the plot of the film was something that I think in childhood many of us wanted, which made it special.

This is a complete movie, because it has everything that a good movie should have, but it is not enough for me to say it, I invite you to see it for yourselves and enjoy Leo's beautiful story. Hola hive, hoy les quiero hablar sobre una película que siento que ha sido sonada estos últimos días y desde que la ubiqué me llamo mucho la atención hasta que por fin tuve la oportunidad de verla, y por esta razón es que hoy les quiero hablar de Leo

Leo es una película animada lanzada en el 2023 dirigida por Robert Marianetti, Robert Smigel y está protagonizada por las voces de Adam Sandler, Bill Burr, Cecily Strong, Jason Alexander, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Rob Schneider, Jo Koy, Allison Strong, Jackie Sandler, Heidi Gardner, Robert Smigel y Nick Swardson. Esta película nos muestra a Leo, una lagartija que se entera que le queda poco tiempo de vida y empieza a intentar buscar nuevas experiencias para disfrutar y darle un giro a su vida, a la vez de que va compartiendo con diferentes niños que le van dejando cada uno una lección. Ya habiendo dado un poco de contexto ahora si comencemos!

Primero siempre me gusta empezar hablando de lo que más me encanta de la película y en este caso sin duda son los mensajes que está busca transmitir, específicamente a los niños, siento que es lo más valioso de la película, aparte de que lo hacen de una forma bastante emotiva haciendo que empatice con cada uno de nosotros, así que sin duda es de lo mejor de “Leo”

También quiero destacar el humor tan cool que tiene esta película y es que aunque dentro de todo es un humor infantil, si siento que a veces intentan arriesgar un poco y no se van por el camino fácil, hay varias situaciones o bromas que me dieron risa y eso no es muy común que me pase con películas así animadas, por lo que siento que Adam Sandler en la escritura de esta película jugó un papel fundamental.

La historia es interesante, porque aunque no es muy innovadora o experimental, pues siento que cumple con su objetivo, y me parece genial el arco de personaje que vemos en nuestro protagonista, como va evolucionando y creciendo cada vez más a lo largo de la película.

Ahora también debo mencionar lo que no me termino de convencer de esta película, y es que en momentos si se me hizo un poco pesada o monótona, la película inicia bastante bien y siento que tiene un cierre prácticamente perfecto, pero hay un momento en la mitad de la película donde me perdió un poco, sin embargo decidí aguantar para ver como se desenlazaba la historia y ahí le volví agarrar el hilo.

La animación es relativamente buena, pero no me parece que sea algo increíble, hay escenas que realmente se ven muy bonitas, pero otras no tanto, sin embargo esto tampoco es algo que me moleste, pero si me parece pertinente mencionarlo.

Considero que Leo es una gran película específicamente para un público infantil, tiene mensajes bastante valiosos que pueden sumar mucho y todo contado en base a una historia que tiene momentos muy divertidos, por lo que siento que Leo cumple con lo que promete.

En conclusión esta película me pareció muy divertida, con algunos fallos pero siento que igual vale la pena echarle un vistazo, sinceramente cumplió con mis expectativas, me dio prácticamente lo que esperaba, así que quede conforme, por lo que puedo decir que Leo está totalmente recomendada!

First I always like to start talking about what I love most about the movie and in this case without a doubt are the messages that it seeks to convey, specifically to children, I feel it is the most valuable thing about the film, besides that they do it in a very emotional way making it empathize with each one of us, so it is certainly the best of "Leo".

I also want to highlight the cool humor that this movie has and although it is a childish humor, I feel that sometimes they try to risk a little and do not go the easy way, there are several situations or jokes that made me laugh and that is not very common that happens to me with animated movies, so I feel that Adam Sandler in the writing of this film played a key role.

The story is interesting, because although it is not very innovative or experimental, I feel that it fulfills its objective, and I think it's great the character arc we see in our protagonist, as he evolves and grows more and more throughout the film.

Now I should also mention what did not convince me of this film, and that is that at times it was a little heavy or monotonous, the film starts quite well and I feel it has a practically perfect closure, but there is a moment in the middle of the film where I lost a little, however I decided to hold on to see how the story unraveled and then I grabbed the thread again.

The animation is relatively good, but I do not think it is something incredible, there are scenes that really look very nice, but others not so much, however this is not something that bothers me, but it seems pertinent to mention it.

I consider Leo to be a great movie specifically for a child audience, it has quite valuable messages that can add a lot and all told on the basis of a story that has very funny moments, so I feel that Leo delivers what it promises.

In conclusion I found this movie very funny, with some flaws but I feel it's still worth a look, honestly it met my expectations, it gave me pretty much what I expected, so I was satisfied, so I can say that Leo is totally recommended!

Así como lo he mencionado anteriormente, me gusta mucho ver y analizar las películas infantiles, no es algo que viene desde que soy padre, sino desde antes, sin embargo, desde que tengo a mi hija, le presto más atención a este tipo de producciones e ir viendo la evolución de a lo largo del tiempo de las películas infantiles, desde luego, hay un gran cambio desde mi generación a la de mi hija y es en donde quizás muchos tenemos cierto conflicto con las producciones más recientes que están enfocados a los más pequeños de la casa. Esta es una historia animada que cuenta con la voz de Adam Sandler, que si bien a los más pequeños no les interesará mucho, a los adultos nos puede atraer mucho esta característica del filme, ya que asociamos a este famoso actor muchas veces con risas y diversión, así que escucharle en una película animada puede ser ese factor que pueda atraer más miradas a este filme.

Sin dudas el mensaje es lo más positivo o relevante que tiene este filme, aunque no todo es positivo, ya que tiene aspectos que quizás le hacen una película un poco aburrida:

Historia Plana: Esto más que para los niños nos afecta a los adultos, siempre esperamos que en un filme se complete un ciclo, desde las infantiles hasta las películas de terror, ese ciclo comienza con una introducción y termina en un final, sin embargo, en medio del metraje siempre existe circunstancias de tensión (de diferentes niveles) puede ser un villano o una situación que hace que normalmente el protagonista se encuentre en aprietos.

En cuanto a la animación, no tengo nada malo que decir, la película es hermosa, a pesar de que Leo es un lagarto, es agradable a la vista, es como ver a un abuelo y para mí eso es, aunque también un maestro para la vida.

Los padres pensaran en que estarán haciendo para que sus hijos sean felices y se desarrollen socialmente de manera adecuada, también en el comportamiento que en ocasiones tienen con las personas que cuidan y educan a nuestros hijos. En cuanto a los maestros, donde también me incluyo, nos hará pensar en nuestra práctica educativa, qué clase de maestro soy? Acompaño y apoyo a mi estudiante con sus problemas o solo me dedico a la parte académica, llenándolos de libros y teoría.

La animación de esta película fue una gran elección, ya que permite que sea muy atractiva y perfecta para toda las edades, puesto que es un mundo de jóvenes y adolescentes viendo sus respectivas clases y le dio un gran toque, puesto que me hizo recordar esos momentos en el colegio y cada una de las actividades que nos ponía y lo más cómico de esta producción ese ver a una iguana como mascota conocida como Leo. Hace poco se estrenó esta producción de Happy Madison que es la productora de de Adam Sandler, pero es una película algo diferente a la que estamos acostumbrados, es una película infantil que si tiene unos chistes subidos de tono como los que estamos acostumbrados pero nada para alarmarse.

En esta historia vemos como Leo, un lagarto de 74 años lleva toda su vida encerrado en el salón de una escuela en Florida, pero un día se asusta al enterarse que su especie solo viven 75 años, por lo que está prácticamente a punto de morir, esto causa que empiece a soñar con vivir ese único año que le queda de la mejor manera, así comienza a hablar con los niños del salón de clases en el que están y comienza a ayudarlos con sus problemas, tocando temas muy importantes y dando muchas enseñanzas muy lindas.

Por esto mismo es difícil no querer gravitar al rededor de una propuesta como "Leo", que aparte de presentarse como un filme animado con una premisa interesante (Vemos a Sandler interpretando a un reptil de 74 años que aparte es la mascota de un salón de primaria en medio de una crisis existencial), es lo suficientemente valiente como para acompañarlo de uno de los mejores comediantes del siglo XXI: Bill Burr, una decisión bastante curiosa que sin duda enganchará a más de uno.

No obstante, es importante reconocer que en medio de tantas obras animadas de muchísima calidad que se han estrenado recientemente, Leo no tiene nada particularmente único que ofrecer más allá de ser entretenida, una virtud que depende casi exclusivamente de la icónica pareja de actores que lo protagonizan.

¿La razón? Su estilo visual es genérico y no sabe contar con un tono humorístico consistente, variando de forma agresiva entre los chistes inocentes e infantiles y un nivel de vulgaridad que honestamente se siente fuera de lugar.

"Leo" es una de esas películas animadas que en otra época se hubiese estrenado directamente a DVD y hubiese pasado sin pena ni gloria, técnicamente correcta pero carente de cualquier tipo de inspiración.

¿Aspectos destacables? Puede llegar a ser divertida y cuenta con un par de momentos bastante interesantes, especialmente cuando decide abordar con inocencia temas como el bullying y las inseguridades de los niños preadolescentes, contrastando con inteligencia las personalidades de los mismos con las de sus protagonistas viejos y amargados.

Definitivamente existen otros filmes más interesantes dentro de la filmografía de Sandler, tanto si buscamos comedias tontas, como si buscamos obras un poco más serias en introspectiva, de hecho, hace un par de meses "You're so not invited to my bat mitzvah" hizo un trabajo muchísimo como coming of age story contemporánea.

Movie Review:

In the beginning of the movie, a serial killer gang of 5 members is committing one heist after another by brutally killing people. In it, a wild hyena enters a Himachal town and attacks people, and the hyena dives into a school. When the forest department people failed to catch the hyena, forest officer Joshy called animal rescuer Parthi over the phone and asked him to enter the school in an emergency. As seen, Parthi very bravely knocked the ferocious hyena unconscious and handed it over to the forest officials

It is later seen that when a gang of serial killers raids Parthi's cafe to kill Parthi's daughter and lady staff Shruthi, Parthi is forced to shoot the serial killers and surrenders to the police. The court reviewed Parthi's crime and released him honorably as an animal lover. While leaving the court, Parthi called himself home with an umbrella and journalists tried to take pictures. After that, Parthi's family does not leave the house for 10 days and when they do, the serial killers attack and fail. As a result, Parthi arranges a police guard for their safety and opens his own cafe.

At that time a man takes Parthi's picture and sends it to another person and that man rushes to a villain Harold with Parthi's picture. Harold learns that Parthi's real name is Leo and immediately Harold goes to his elder brother Antony to tell him that his son Leo is alive. After that Antony goes to Parthi's cafe with his men and asks him to admit that he is Leo. Due to these reasons Parthi and his family are in danger, as a result of which it is seen that according to Parthi a normal family man also turns into a terrible person.

Forest officer Joshy investigates and finds out that Antony is a drug kingpin and his son is Leo. And Leo was a criminal who did all the important work in his father's illegal business. Also Leo was helped in all his work by his twin sister Elisa. On the other hand Antony's younger brother Harold graduated from London and started looking after his elder brother's tobacco business. It is known that Antony first sacrificed animals to improve his business, but later he started sacrificing people to improve his business. At one point Antony decides to sacrifice his most beloved person, for which Antony wants to sacrifice his own daughter. Leo sets fire to his father's tobacco factory where Harold stabs Elisa to death and Antony shoots and kills Leo.

But after killing Antony when he sees Parthi realizes that Leo is still alive as Parthi for his family. Antony and Harold keep an eye on Parthi with their men and at one point Parthi's family is picked up by Antony and Harold. As a result, Parthi is forced to save his family from enemies by killing Antony and Harold and all their people. Also, Antony and Harold destroy the tobacco factory and after that someone calls Parthi and informs that there is still work to be done to destroy the tobacco factory.

Comment:

Through the movie one can learn about the tobacco king and how people face death in life due to their superstitions. Also, how violent a man can be to save his family can also be seen and known very well. I liked the story of the movie, family responsibility, comedy, action and twist.
