Greetings my dear cinephile friends, I'm glad to be here again, sharing with you a new review and my personal opinion about another one of the many movies out there to watch. This time, maybe it won't be such a positive review, but still, we'll try to get something good out of it.

There are movies that at some point in my life I would have enjoyed watching, but at this point not so much, as I have become somewhat picky about what I watch and these kinds of comedies, are not the kind I enjoy watching, it's about the little movie... again a movie that was released in 2019, but I heard about it recently when I was looking for something to watch. It stars Regina Hall and Marsai Martin who are the same characters but at different ages.

And just as the title of the movie says, Jordan our character, runs a large technology company, with power and a personality that displeases everyone, because he believes he deserves everything and is superior to others. Day after day, his employees suffer because of the harsh words Jordan uses without thinking, as it happens in some jobs today.

Esta vez, quizás no será una reseña tan positiva, pero aún así, trataremos de sacarle algo bueno.

Hay películas que en algún punto de mi vida hubiese disfrutado ver, pero en este no tanto, ya que me he vuelto algo exigente con lo que veo y esta clase de comedias, no son de las que disfruto ver, se trata de la película pequeña... otra vez una película que se estrenó en 2019, pero que supe de ella hace poco cuando buscaba algo que ver. Está protagonizada por Regina Hall y Marsai Martín quienes son el mismo personajes pero a diferentes edades.

Y tal como el título de la película lo dice, Jordan nuestro personaje, dirige una empresa grande de tecnología, con poder y una personalidad qué desagrada a todos, porque cree merecerlo todo y ser superior a los demás. Día tras día, sus empleados sufren debido a las duras palabras que usa Jordan sin pensar, tal y como ocurre en algunos empleos hoy en día.

Something strange happens and while she was treating a 13 year old girl badly, everything she was so afraid of came back into her life out of nowhere. A girl with super unmanageable hair, big glasses to see through and of course in a world where people are pretty cruel. For Jordan things got out of control and all of a sudden, as the law states she had to start attending school, again.

Going back to school made her relive terrible memories of her adolescence and made her feel as vulnerable as she did at that time, explaining why she has such a ruthless personality. A victim of bullying as a teenager, she had to forge a strong personality so as not to continue to be attacked in adulthood, in addition to changing her hair and other things about her appearance.

And as it should be, going back to that time forced her to realize what a horrible person she had become, as well as to realize who were the people who truly cared about her despite how difficult it was to treat and love her.

Algo extraño ocurre y mientras trataba mal a una niña de 13 años, todo aquello a lo que tanto le tuvo miedo volvió a aparecer en su vida de la nada. Una chica con cabello súper difícil de manejar, con grandes lentes para poder ver y por supuesto en un mundo en el que las personas son bastante crueles. Para Jordan las cosas se salen de control y de un momento a otro, como lo indica la ley tuvo que comenzar a asistir ala escuela, de nuevo.

Volver a la escuela le hizo revivir recuerdos terribles de su adolescencia y la hizo sentir tan vulnerable como en aquel momento, explicando el porque de la personalidad despiadada qué tiene. Víctima de bulling en su adolescencia, tuvo que forjar una personalidad fuerte para no seguir siendo atacada en la edad adulta, además de cambiar su cabello y otras cosas de su apariencia.

Y como debe ser, volver a aquella época la obligó a darse cuenta de la horrible persona en la que se había convertido, además de también darse cuenta de quienes eran las personas que verdaderamente se interesaban en ella pese a lo difícil que era tratarla y quererla.

Not to say that this movie for me was a bit boring, something like a copy of his 30's in reverse, but without so much effort. I didn't like it at all and 20 minutes into the movie it started to make me sleepy, again it was sad because I felt like I wasted my valuable time to watch and enjoy a good movie.

I know that other people enjoyed this movie and I respect that, but personally it has nothing entertaining and there are scenes that are very unnecessary, besides that it deals with topics better treated in other movies. So if I have to recommend it, I really wouldn't, there are much better movies to watch.

However, no matter how bad a movie is, it should always leave us with something to think about and this one was no exception. As I mentioned, it's about a girl who was bullied because of her physical appearance and because of that, as she grows up, she changes everything about herself, several surgeries and hair treatments to change what she naturally was.

De no decir que esta película para mi fue un poco aburrida, algo así como la copia de su tuviera 30 al revés, pero sin tanto esfuerzo. No me gustó para nada y a los 20 minutos de la película comenzó a darme sueño, lo vuelvo fue triste porque sentí que hBia perdido mi valioso tiempo para ver y disfrutar de una buena película.

Sé que otras personas disfrutaron de esta película y lo respeto, pero en lo personal no tiene nada de entretenido y hay escenas qué son muy innecesarias, además de que trata temas mejor tratados en otras películas. Así que si debo recomendarla, la verdad es que no lo haría, hay muchas mejores películas que ver.

Sin embargo, siempre por muy mala qué sea una película, debe dejarnos algo en lo que pensar y esta no fue la excepción. Como mencioné trata sobre una chica que sufrió de bulling por su apariencia física y debido a ello, al crecer cambia todo de si, varias cirujias y tratamientos capilares para cambiar lo que naturalmente era.

This makes us think about how much bullying affects the person who suffers it, it can lead a person to hate who he or she is, just for not being accepted by others. The psychological damage caused by bullying or teasing, can last forever in a person and influence how they grow up, and in fact some wanting to be stronger become unpleasant people to hide that inside they have an unhealed wound.

On the other hand, we all have traits of our personality that could cause harm to others, maybe we "don't mince words" or we are too honest to the point of saying things that can hurt, or anything else, we can with effort change that about us, improve, grow and become better people. And we might even heal those wounds caused by mistreatment.

Although it has some teachings that we can think about later, I think this movie is not worth watching, however, not all tastes are the same. I hope you liked my publication, but most of all that it has been useful for a next choice of what to see. See you soon friends, we will read each other next time.

Esto nos hace pensar en lo mucho que afecta el bullying a quien lo sufre, puede llevar a una persona a odiar lo que es, solo por no ser aceptada por los demás. Los daños psicológicos causados por el acoso o las burlas, pueden duran para siempre en una persona e influir en como son al crecer, y de hecho algunos queriendo ser más fuertes se convierten en personas desagradables para disimular qué dentro tienen una herida sin sanar.

Por otro lado, todos tenemos rasgos de nuestra personalidad que podrían causar daño a otros, quizás "no tenemos pelos en la lengua" o somos demasiado honesto al punto de decir cosas que pueden lastimar, o cualquier otra cosa, podemos con esfuerzo cambiar aquello de nosotros, mejorar, crecer y ser mejores personas. Y hasta podríamos sanar aquellas heridas causadas por los malos tratos.

Aunque tiene algunas enseñanzas en las que podemos pensar luego, creo que no vale la pena ver esta película, sin embargo, no todos los gustos son iguales. Espero que mi publicación les haya gustado, pero más que nada que les haya sido útil para una próxima elección de que ver. Hasta pronto amigos, nos leeremos la próxima ocasión.

Si tuviéramos la oportunidad de volver a ser niños de nuevo, ¿qué haríamos?. Esta cinta trata esta posibilidad de manera cómica, y el resultado es muchas falencias con pocos pero existentes aciertos. Es un título estrenado el 2019, dirigido y escrito por Tina Gordon.

Jordan Sanders tuvo una niñez difícil, siendo rechazada por sus compañeros de clase decidió que cuando fuera adulta sería la jefa. Y eso es lo que ya logró a sus 39 años, pero en un revés de la vida, ella vuelve a tener su cuerpo de 13 años en un momento crítico de su empresa. En esos momentos se apoyará en su asistente April, para buscar una solución a su estado. Durante el filme, ella verá que más que una maldición, su situación es una oportunidad para reconciliarse con su pasado.

Comencemos con lo malo que es bastante, primero partamos que si bien es una cinta cómica, gran parte de la película genera poco o directamente no tiene humor, volviéndose una mezcla de mostrar situaciones patéticas en una empresa o situaciones irreales. Otro punto, es que diversos momentos parecen más un teatro que una película, donde pareciera que los personajes principales estuvieran en otro plano, y los alrededores no existieran. Y ya para cerrar, creo que podrían haberse ahorrado esa escena de canto en el restaurante, sale muy enrevesada.

Let's start with the bad, which is quite a lot. First of all, although it is a comic film, much of the movie generates little or no humor, becoming a mixture of showing pathetic situations in a company or unreal situations. Another point is that several moments seem more like a theater than a movie, where it seems that the main characters are in another plane, and the surroundings do not exist. And to close, I think they could have saved that singing scene in the restaurant, it comes out very convoluted.

Ya con lo anterior podría decir que la cinta ya me había dejado con muchas ganas de pasar de ella, pero es cuando ocurre el cambio y entra Marsai Martin, interpretando a una Jordan de 13 años pero con una mentalidad de 39, que me sorprendo, pues la actuación es de lo mejor. Logra de alguna manera sobrellevar diversas escenas en diferentes escenarios hasta un punto que crees en la existencia del personaje: a su vez, logra crear una buena dinámica con April, dando por fin buenos momentos de humor.

With the above I could say that the film had already left me with a lot of desire to pass it, but it is when the change occurs and Marsai Martin enters, playing a 13 year old Jordan but with a 39 year old mentality, that I am surprised, because the performance is the best. She somehow manages to cope with several scenes in different scenarios to a point that you believe in the character's existence: at the same time, she manages to create a good dynamic with April, finally giving good moments of humor.

He de decir que en general la cinta tiene muchos fallos y salvo te guste mucho este tipo de películas, familiares con bastantes clichés, te recomendaría verla. Es una pena que el buen papel de Marsai vaya a pasar desapercibido para la mayoría.

I have to say that overall the film has many flaws and unless you really like this kind of movies, familiar with quite a few clichés, I would recommend you to watch it. It's a pity that Marsai's good role will go unnoticed by most people.

The Plot

Jordan Sanders is a geeky teenage girl who gets bullied at school. After a humiliating experience at a performance in school, she vows she'd grow up, make money and be the bigger bully. A couple of years later, Jordan is the head of a tech company and a mean one at that. She's known to scream orders at everyone and would cause a scene if her coffee mug is too far off the table.

Her mean streak pisses off a little girl with a wand who wishes Jordan was little again. The next morning, Jordan wakes up as her 13-year-old self in her apartment. She's her usual mean self to everyone only to realize she's now little again.

With her assistant's, Apri''s help, she tries to figure out what's happened with her and April makes her promise she'd be nice to her. Child services pay Jordan a visit after a report from a neighbor and she pretends to be the niece of the actual Jordan Sanders while April acts like her guardian.

Jordan resumes back to the high school she went to as a kid based on Child services directives. Once again, she finds herself being bullied and one of the uncool kids. She throws a mini-party for the other uncool kids and convinces them not to perform at the school's show to avoid being humiliated.

Meanwhile, at work, April finds it hard to fill in Jordan's shoes and get everyone to listen to her. When she finally does, she introduces her product pitch to the company's biggest client which she had been trying to sell to Jordan. This gets Jordan furious and she April quits. She also finds out how much her employees hate her.

Now alone with her little problem, Jordan realizes she needs to stop being a mean boss and a mean person in general. She apologizes to April and then goes to the school's show and urges her little friends to perform the dance she initially discouraged them from doing. She gets on the stage and begins dancing and her friends join in.

April finds the little girl with the magic wand to reverse her wish but the wand doesn't seem to do the magic. Jordan wakes up the next day and is back to her normal self.

Jordan losens up and not only promotes April, but makes her an associate to the company.

My Thoughts

The concept of this movie is nothing new. The 1988 fantasy comedy drama, 'Big' happens to be Marsai's inspiration making this movie. A freaky friday kind of movie is one that never gets old and not an overused storyline.

The main characters did a great job potraying their roles and Marsai in particular was excellent acting like a grown woman. Seeing Issa Rae in her typical awkward black girl character was fun to watch.

Jordan dealing with her inner child was the highlight of the movie and goes to show that sometimes, people are asses because of the type of childhood they had.

It wasn't full-on comedy all through, it felt like they were holding back and could have given more. Some scenes were unnecessary like the one at the restaurant where Jordan and April performed a song.

It's a movie teenagers would love (at least 13-year-old me would) so there's no need being overly critical. Overall, it's an almost feel-good movie you might want to recommend to a teenager.

I'd rate Little a solid 5.5 just like its rating on IMDb.

Little is an American fantasy comedy movie with a run time of 1hr 49min. It was directed and co-written by Tina Gordon, starring amazing funny actors like Regina Halls, Marsai Martin, Issa Rae, Justin Hartley and many others. The story revolves around a successful, hot headed boss who woke up to the younger version of herself.

Jordan who is a successful tech mogul but hot headed would give no allowance to anyone who might belittle her due to her past of been bullied as a child. You know how it said that when someone has a bad experience he/she then builds up a wall to protect themselves, well that was the case of Jordan Sanders. She no only built that wall she became worse being a boss lady, like how she frustrates her assistant April Williams, the rest of her employees and those around her. So when she met her match in my opinion, which happened to be a little girl who did like an abracadabra thing with her wand which however led to her transformation.

The character of April was that of an assistant to a crazy boss who is too shy to take the bull by the horn. When I say take the bull by the horn, I mean she was just to slow for me. Even when the opportunity came for her to express herself during a presentation, it took a lot for her to stand up on her feet. Her performance was great even though I lost her at a point but was still able to reconnect later on. She was able to step up her game in the company, got a friend in her hot headed boss and a relationship.

Now for my favourite character 13yrs old Jordan Sanders, she was so hilarious and bossy, like a little boss. The way she carried herself was even more majestic than her older self. With all the expensive and flashy clothes, she carried herself like a grown up. There was a time when 13yrs old Jordan and April went to a restaurant and Jordan ordered for a wine with all eyes staring at them, April had to stop her but she still ended up drunk anyways lol.

The movie is a very hilarious one with very funny characters, I could relate with Jordan's character from been bullied to being the mean one which was the best way she felt she could protect herself. Even in our every lives we most times put up walls due to past experiences which if not carefully managed could affect our lives. For instance, due to the wall Jordan put up to defend herself she could not be in a relationship, she didn't even have any friends. The movie tried to pass a message of letting go of the past, being appreciative of everyone around us irrespective of their rank or level.

Credit to Marsai Martin, who at 15yrs was an executive producer for this movie. Making her the youngest person to ever produce a movie, at this rate she is soon to be an outstanding personnel in the industry. Credit also goes to the director, Tina Gordon for the choice of the cast they all did an amazing work in trying to portray the story which they did well but then again there is always room for improvement.
