    Florence

  2. London Has Fallen: The worst enemy is revenge.@fabian981857d

Greetings to all the community of film and television lovers, today I come with the second part of the saga President has fallen, starring Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman. This time the mission is no longer to protect the president from North Korean dissidents, but from the number one enemy of the United States: Middle Eastern terrorists.

To begin with, it must be said that London has fallen is the direct sequel to Olympus Has Fallen released in 2013. And it follows the same storyline where the agent Mike Banning, tries to avoid at all costs the assassination of the president of the united states, and in his mission, he will have to deal with dangers, betrayals, and threats that may escape his control.

    plot

London has fallen begins with a scene where the main villain, Aamir Barkrawi, is attacked with bombs in his compound where he is left for dead. Years later Mike Banning is waiting for his daughter and once again considering leaving the service as high risk, while Aamir Barkrawi who managed to survive the bomb attack, plans revenge but waits for the right moment.

In another scene, it is seen that the British Prime Minister has passed away and the president of the United States along with other world leaders is going to his funeral, but Aamir Barkrawi has already set in motion his revenge plan that begins with bomb attacks and the destruction of the entire security service of the leaders.

And after several leaders have lost their lives and half the city has been destroyed, they manage to capture the president of the United States and take him to a building under construction that is used as a base of operations. While Mike Banning after an investigation concludes that the death of the British Prime Minister was not a coincidence but that he was poisoned and that there is a mole in the secret service who has been helping the terrorists to avoid the tactical teams.

So after using a secure communication network, Mike banning manages to get to the compound where they are going to execute the president, and together with a tactical extraction team they manage to stop Kamran before he executes the president, and after blowing up everything and killing all the terrorists, Mike accomplishes his mission to keep the president safe.

But the main villain Barkrawi wants to escape knowing that he has little left, so while in Yemen, he is called by the vice president who tells him that there is a missile headed for him, where on this occasion he finally dies.

Although the critics trashed this movie, I think it deserves credit as it has very good action scenes and suspense, plus it follows a solid story without going out of it, as the main goal of the movie is to save the president at all costs and that is what you see in the movie.

Also, it presents a great reality that happens in the whole world, where hundreds of innocent people suffer because of the war, not getting justice for those who have lost because they take it into their own hands, but it causes much more damage than you think.

One negative aspect of this movie, as well as all movies where Muslims are the bad guys, is that the world becomes insensitive and generalizes all Muslims as terrorists, which has led to different countries being treated with hatred and contempt.

Another thing that was bad about London has fallen, are the special effects, god they are unbelievably bad. They didn't even make an effort to try to make them more realistic or better quality, because the fire, plane crashes, bombs are extremely fake or like amateur special effects.

Other than that it's a awesome action movie.

  3. London has Fallen (film) : A disappointing followup to "Olympus."@gooddream2435d

I hadn't expected to enjoy Olympus has Fallen but i actually did like it despite the fact that it was also, completely impractical. In London has Fallen they take the very far-fetched premise of getting past extreme levels of government security and stretch it from not just to one important building being held hostage, but an entire city.

I don't think it is terribly necessary to warn about spoilers because this is a Gerard Bulter action film and all of those are the same... but whatever... SPOILER ALERT

Really, I think that anyone who goes into this film feeling as though it is going to be anything intelligent or even remotely sticking to realistic scenarios is going to be disappointed. Olympus was pretty outlandish but London takes this to another level entirely.

The basic idea in the film is that someone very important who is British has died and all of the world's Prime Ministers and Presidents are coming at once to pay their respects. Of course this is a wonderful time for the terrorists to have a very well coordinated strike and teach the world a lesson.

    londonhasfallenxlarge.jpg source

I expected the film to be a bit unbelievable but the force that the baddies accumulate and once again, quite easily defeat all the London Police as well as the personal security details of all the world's nations, is more frustrating to watch than exciting. They are able to magically get superior firepower to these events that if there actually was an event like this would be so tightly controlled that no one would be able to get anything like that anywhere near it.

However, the only thing the baddies need in this film is to have a bogus police uniform and then everyone is just like ... "oh yeah sure, come on over.. I mean you are clearly a member of the police force.. bring that AK-47 with you too, it's fine... you are wearing yellow."

That aspect of the film is extremely dumb as is the lack of a global response. Also, does London have no response unit or something? The whole city is just taken over so easily? Oh well, I never thought that the taking of the White House in Olympus would seem reasonable, but compared to this, it certainly does. The idea of the whole thing is ridiculous and empty but i suppose there are a couple of interesting fights but that is about it. The rest of the action in this movie is so unbelievably preposterous that it starts to get old and boring pretty quick.

    [source](https://movies-b26f.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/London-Has-Fallen-fire-explosion-ben.jpg)

There are a lot of frustrating cinema crimes in this film but here are just a few:

    • At one point the terrorists intentionally blow up important London landmarks even though doing so provides zero strategic advancement for their side.
    • The security detail for all of the world leaders combined was maybe 60 guys. The baddies have a lot more. The "good guys" also only have small arms and no snipers, no swat team in reserve, no back up, nothing.
    • All of the security other than Gerard Butler and a handful of others are horribly inept bullet-sponges
    • The terrorists experience very little difficulty shooting down helicopters from rooftops with portable weaponry
    • There's no military response team from any nation? Come on now. At one point the UK military wants to get involved but the police say "no, we got this" You clearly don't have it pal! Martial law would have been declared immediately
    • It was exceptionally easy to hack all of London's electrical grid because you know, all that is controlled by a website or something apparently.
    • All civilians in London immediately obey orders to stay in their homes. There is no panic in the streets... actually there is no one in the streets at all
    • Bullet proof cars are knocked out of commission quite easily.... with bullets. In one particular scene a car window that has been shot i dunno, 50 times at that point, get's hit by a dude's body and he goes straight through it
    • The Japanese Prime Minister is traveling in a Lexus with one guard / driver and no security detail at all.
    • The French Prime minister arrives by boat... haha

There are many many more... to the point that this movie could be easily turned into a drinking game. Drink every time something completely impractical happens... better get a LOT of bottles.

    From the [Movieclips Trailers](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCi8e0iOVk1fEOogdfu4YgfA) channel

This movie was basically just Olympus has Fallen but much more absurd. There is a 3rd one called Angel has Fallen and I have to say I am morbidly curious how they could possibly make a film more fundamentally flawed than this one but I gotta say, I'm gonna watch it anyway.

I think you can enjoy this film if you approach it expecting to have some fun with the completely silly events that happen here and just kind of accept the fact that this is just a movie where everyone is pretty much useless except for Gerard Butler.

If you want a film that has some element of realism, a bit of a story that isn't completely predictable, or maybe somewhat of a life lesson or a compelling storyline..... this is not the right movie for you.
