In April 2021, Netflix announced the release of the second season of this bioseries, after much speculation and as always; it had great acceptance from the public fans of this singer. This time it did not have a villain as hated as Luisito Rey "Luis Miguel's father" nor was it an adaptation of a book, nothing like that.

A second season was produced that narrates the experiences of Luis Miguel in the year nineteen ninety-four and the beginning of the year two thousand, in parallel, based on an unpublished and investigative construction of the main character.

¿Apreciaciones?
Appreciations? The absence of Luisito Rey, in my opinion, took away the excitement of knowing who the villain was, since Oscar Jaenada's performance was so masterful that we were hooked with the first season. In eight chapters that comprise this bioseries, there are new enemies, including Luis Miguel as a villain of his own.
What is the price of being an artist? It's a question that leads us to reflect on the extent to which sacrifices must be made in order to weave the image and trajectory of the best Latin American singer in Spanish: losing your family, losing the love of your life, illnesses, ailments and surprising betrayals.
Between reality and fiction, the singer, somehow, wants to clear up rumors of so many years in a kind of vindication with his public. A way to make peace with so many rumors, defamation and curiosities that only someone of this caliber can raise in the media and information.

The disappearance of his mother is clarified a little, but without clear clues to understand what happened to her whereabouts. In a very subliminal way of inferring what happened, surrounded by a halo of mystery, which hopefully can be elucidated well in the third season.

So far, it has been clarified why Mickey is such a mysterious person after growing up in a dysfunctional home and prey of unscrupulous people who took advantage of him, professionally, emotionally and economically.

As the title of this publication carries "The brighter the sun shines, the darker its shadows" paraphrasing one of the slogans; of which the marketing of this second season has been seen. Luis Miguel's musical successes are shown in equal proportion to his personal mistakes.

In the case of boleros, this Legend, through his popular romances, managed to rescue in his style, songs of the genre that took on a new shine thanks to his musical contributions with great producers such as: Kiko Cibrián, Juan Carlos Calderón and Armando Manzanero. Lyrics and music that were listened to by our ancestors, were renewed to the young listeners, to maintain validity and permanence in time.

Technical details: As always Netflix offers us a biographical drama with the best sound and the best image. Diego Boneta's vocal performance with Luis Miguel's classic songs was excellent
We appreciated an acting evolution; personifying the Sun of Mexico, and an unprecedented vocal evolution, thanks to the intervention of Kiko Cibrián, musical producer of albums such as "Romances 2" and "Aries" among many others, which are obligatory listening and study references for those who want to sing ballads, boleros and other songs from the repertoire of this Mexican star.
    Third Season:
They have already announced that the third and final season of this production is on its way. Luis Miguel has a lot to tell from his perspective, to clarify so many questions.
He is an idol but also cannot hide that being a human being and possessing so many talents, he has his imperfections, something he hid for decades and on the contrary, today shows to tell his truth, so often misunderstood. I look forward to your comments, God bless you. Until next time...

  2. TV Show Review: Luis Miguel (2018 - Netflix - Season 1)@thisismylife1864d

    Source

    Introduction

I love to watch Spanish TV shows of all sorts, I have probably seen a fair amount close to those in English by now as these shows keep popping up in huge amounts and although there are bad ones listed on Netflix, I also noticed that most of the unknown shows I give a try, those in Spanish seem to be more appealing than many of the English ones.

Luis Miguel was recommended probably because season 2 is now aired and there's a new episode every week. Until it was recommended, I had never noticed the show. But when I don't have at least 1 show to binge watch, I just give the mediocore ones a chance as well. With this I'm referring to the acting skills which are noticable from the first episode..

But now I've finished season 1, let's see what my thoughts are and if I'm going to continue watching season 2.

Biographical television series about a mexican singer

I often don't mind listening to latin music and am quite a fan too, but I haven't heard one single song in this full season that I liked. I don't like the genre Luis Miguel performs and honestly, I don't like his cocky attitude either.

I had no idea who Luis Miguel was, until I started looking up the tv show online and found the real Luis Miguel and even saw a few video clips of interviews and the resemblance with the actor in this series is amazing! I can only think that his cocky attitude is truly based on the role he plays, so he seems to be doing a great job there.

The story of Luis Miguel is sad

The story of Luis Miguel is honestly quite the sad one. His father is a singer and at one point, includes Luis Miguel in his performance after he trained him until he's exhausted. He's just a young child and the way he's being drilled by his father, is not healthy if you ask me. It seems as if he wants his son to become a bigger star than he ever was, and he's not going to let anyone stop him to make it happen.

He's also not the nicest man as he's a drunk and quite the agressive person from time to time. The sad thing is that his wife disappears at some point in the series and at the end of season one, it's still not clear what happened to her. During the season, I've suspected that she was killed by Luis' father and his uncle, I also thought she may have been in a mental institution and currently, I'm even in more doubt.

Where Luis thinks he's going to live the good life, being a star, he doesn't seem to notice that his father is trying to alienate him and his brothers from their mother, and that his mother is getting more and more depressed living with her husband. She's seeing his true colors and wants to leave him, but he treathens to kill her is she does.

It's not until many years later, when Luis Miguel is already in his teens, that he discovers that his mother is missing without anyone knowing where she is. He's starting an investigation with a private detective and tries to find out what happened without the media picking up the story. Meanwhile, he's continuing his career, falling in love, and alienates his father at some point as he's seeing his true intentions at that point.

The season ends with still a lot of questions unanswered and even though this show is not on my top list of Spanish shows to watch, I need to watch season 2 so that watching season 1 wasn't a complete waste of my time, lol. I call this show one to watch if you have nothing better to do, or maybe because you actually know the real performer Luis Miguel and are curious about his story. For me, a show like this should have some nice music in it that I like to listen to, which isn't the case.

But they now have me hooked thanks to the unanswered questions, and I will be continuing season 2 as well.

Here's the trailer of season 1:

    Season 2 on Netflix

Season two is on Netflix, and you can expect a new episode every week. If you're curious if season 2 is for you, here's the trailer:

What are your thoughts? Have you seen season 1? Or maybe started season 2? No spoilers in the comments, please :-)

[ENG/ESP]The earth admires the sun king.

It is well known that Luis Miguel is a Spanish-language singer: Extraordinary and world-class, despite so many offers to sing in English and his refusals not to do so. El Rey Sol has an enviable talent in music; with so many awards and classic songs in various genres, which make him the darling of the vast majority of music lovers in the world.

From the eighties to the present day, his trajectory maintains its relevance and commercial success. Something very contradictory with a hermetic personal life before the media. Except for his hits and romances, of the latter few details and already counting with 51 years of age and more than 40 years in the singing; in recent years, life circumstances made possible his biographical series on Netflix.
Economic crisis? Loneliness? Clarify before his public; so many questions? We do not know, but somehow this kind of biography seeks to vindicate the image of the Sun of Mexico; for many, and that of an arrogant artist; for others. It was released in 2008 in its first season, which includes 13 chapters uploaded on the digital platform Netflix and released, with high ratings at the time, by some television stations such as Telemundo in the United States, with the permission of Luis Miguel, as its General Producer and starring in alter ego with actor Diego Boneta.

What do we appreciate? Excellent image and sound quality, typical and characteristic of the productions of this portal of series and movies, where we can know in different timelines, how an artist is born to stardom; the family, cultural and musical influences that a child prodigy in singing goes through, where not everything is rosy to build an artist.

Like any family, not everything is perfect, there are problems and rivalries, a father with a dubious reputation in the artistic world and a beautiful and loving mother whose inexplicable disappearance marks Micky's life. To achieve the goals anything goes in war and in peace, as they say out there, you can see how it rises around the world; a child talent to the same extent that suffers exploitations, abuses and scams, not only monetary but also emotional, that would mark him forever.

The dialogues are very interesting and well done; from the dramatic point of view, the timelines are very well elaborated to the point that the audience does not lose interest in seeing a more human, more personal and more intimate "Sol" beyond such a mysterious character that is now closer.
There are moments filled with a lot of emotion that can make us shed some tears, that is why this production has had good positive reviews; because it develops the construction of a prodigy in a very plausible way between what happened and touches of fiction, in some cases. This is accompanied by a Soundtrack (Covers) of some of his first hits in the voice of Diego Boneta and Izan Llunas, who are intentionally inserted in the development of each chapter.
It remains then to appreciate the first season and part of the second season which premiered last April 19 and every Sunday we can appreciate a new chapter, which to date is on the third chapter. If you are a fan of "SOL DE MEXICO" or a detractor, let us know in the comments. There is everything in the Lord's vineyard. God bless you. See you next time.
