CineTV Contest: Maharaja; An Indian Action Thriller Film.@bisolamih453d

I never believed I was ever going to sit for hours to watch a film. That’s how uninterested I can be in watching films until I decided to rate people’s hype. What’s about Maharaja, the movie with a lot of hype then I decided to give it a watch. Firstly, there may be more interesting movies than this which is actually certain but the irony in the movie and what it portrays makes it my favorite movie.

Maharaja is an Indian action thriller movie produced by Sudhan Sundaram which centers around the ills of the society and how the rich, wealthy and connected ones treat the poor. Unfortunately, no one can ever tell if they may be hurting someone close to them.

Story plot

The wife of Maharaja, a barber at Ramki Saloon dies as a faulty truck crushes into their house leaving their daughter, Jothi alive as a dustbin saved her by covering her up. Out of affection, Jothi and Maharaja names the dustbin, Lakshmi.

One night, Maharaja’s home was robbed and the robbers took his properties including Lakshmi. Maharaja didn’t want any other thing. He only wanted to find Lakshmi before Jothi travels back home. Even though Maharaja was offered a lot of money just to forget the dustbin, he was still bent on finding Lakshmi.

After the robbers realized that Maharaja was still bent on finding his dustbin, they went to his house and raped his daughter, Jothi. Eventually, Selvam, one of the robbers sees a scar on Jothi’s hand and realizes that he’s the real father of Jothi and Maharaja is just an adopted father.

My thoughts and opinion

Firstly, I’d love to say that I loved how bad Selvam felt after realizing that Jothi was his daughter. That’s to show the pain that a wicked person feels. That’s how sad someone can feel when you realize that you’re one of those who raped your biological daughter.

This even made me realize that the wicked ones feel pain too especially when their loved one is affected. That’s exactly what’s happening in our world today. People careless about you until you’re their family member and that isn’t fair.

Yes, there are people like Maharaja who takes care of things that do not really belong to them. He has a good heart and if you have a good heart just like him also, just know that there are just a few people like you.

If I’m to talk about my favorite scene, I’ll go for the scene where Selvam go to know that Jothi whom he previously named Ammu was his daughter. You all need to see how pained he was. The pain was written all over his face. Right since the beginning of the movie, I never wished Selvam well just like I never wish anyone who engages in things that make people cry well.

This film wants me to explore the slum part pf my country and not just the slum parts but I want to see how many women have been raped and forcefully raising a fatherless child. If things like all these wickedness acts continue to happen in the world, more people will become stone hearted, more people will become scared and depressed and the world wouldn’t get any better.

I love the fact that Maharaja isn’t just a movie that is aimed at making you feel entertained but it talks about the vices of the society that after the movie, you sit to think about how many of such things have happened to people in the world. I’ll rate this movie an 8/10. It is worth it and I know you will enjoy it if you give it a watch.

If you have a Netflix account, this movie is a must watch! Right after watching this movie, I stormed google to see if the writer, Nithilan Saminathan, has any other movies or books because whattt! I normally give my rating at the end of my review but let me just go ahead and say this movie is a 10/10 minus nothing. I’m not saying this because I am a fan of Indian movies. I saying this because this movie is the real deal. From plot twists to unexpected turns.

Maharaja is a 2024 thriller about a very calm barber who was on a quest to seek revenge after his home got burglarized. He reported the issue to the police and then kept on repeatedly telling the police his Lakshmi has been taken. And I’m not an Indian but I thought lakshmi was a person but guess what? It wasn’t even a person but then it was a person.

I know you’re confused but trust me, the twists in the plots of the movie began from the first scene. It was very disturbing and I had to do a lot of pauses to understand what was going on because the twists in this movie? Nothing can prepare you for any of them.

The acting in this movie was perfect. Although Indians are known to be very dramatic with their fighting scenes, this movie was different. They made sure to create a close to realistic scenes for all the actions and I loved it. The main character, Maharaja killed his role totally as well as every other person.

I was even shocked when I saw the plot twist regarding what the police did. Well, I’m not going to give any spoilers but wow! I really was blown away.

The cinematography was perfect. I liked the way they paid attention to all the details that needed to go into this movie. The angles and everything. Normally, Indian movies are dated so it’s easy to follow what’s going on but this time, they didn’t play this movie safe in anyway. And if you follow closely, you’ll find out they used a snake to tell the viewers about intermission instead of writing it as they usually do.

I didn’t even get anything to hate in this movie. Everything was just so nicely done. Each point of the movie got me opening my eyes and mouth because there were so many things to process. The overall lesson I took from this movie is how funny life can be sometimes. Life itself is a movie with a lot of unexpected turns. It’s good to live a kind and true life because you can never cheat the universe. Whatever you do will come back biting you someday.

Bollywood almost took tears from my eyes today, been a while I really get emotional when it come to movie but this one really pain me in some way, just don't know why I'm getting fond on bollywood this period after dumping korean movies for a while now, came across this movie titled Maharaja at first it looked somehow like it won't be fun after watch few second of the trailer but I just decided to download it out of boredom and really glad I did.

At first when I saw the main character Maharaja, I thought he was dumb because he rarely speak and have this silence attitude and also cold but never forgot what they say about cold/silence people, they are always dangerous when the arise, with all the cold attitude he love his only daughter (as we thought at first) so much and will do anything for her, the girl wasn't that brilliant with her academics but she is extra good with sport, wasn't that love by her teachers except her P.E teacher, there was a time she was wrongly accused and was scold by the school owner right infront of her father and all staff even when her father pleaded that she can't do what they accused her of, and the offender was brought, the way the dad react after asking the school owner to apologize to his daughter and he refused, I knew that there will be a big problem at the end.

They were 3 in the whole house, the dad, the daughter and a dustbin which they cherish so much and even worship because it save the girl during an accident which took away the mother. There is this other gang of 2 who were into stealing, raping and always killing their victim, this robber leader will take what he stole home to take care of his wife and little daughter with happy face and I was wondering how he manage to pull all the happy stunt without his wife suspecting, you are killing people yet still happy around your family, after a while, he got caught on his daughter birthday after his secret leaked out in the presence of maharaja and he thought the guy leaked it to the police because maharaja was present when they arrest him, so after spending 15years in prison, he came back for Revenge.

On that sad night, Maharaja wasn't at home and his daughter just came back from a competition, fell into the hand of the criminals, they beat her and 2 of the gang raped her without mercy then left her there to die but she was quickly rush to the hospital, Maharaja was pained and decided to look for them, went to the station and lied that his dustbin got stolen and he even paid huge sum to the police men to help him find this dustbin, it sound foolish to them and even me, at some point we thought he was mad and since the policemen were confused, they just decided to fulfill his wish by making a fake dustbin just to extort him of his money but Maharaja didn't care. At some point, he found 1 of the gang members, fought and behead him yet still went back to the station to pretend.

The policemen while looking for who will pretend to be the dustbin stealer find out the truth about the whole situation, made their investigation secretly and found another member of the gang who was the main rapist, took him to the house where they performed the crime and that idiot confess indirectly so they left him for Maharaja who killed him then told him where to find the main leader. That was when the whole story unfold, the fought but Maharaja didn't kill him because the daughter said he need to ask the leader the reason why he decided to destroy her life, and also gave him the jewelry she thought he came to stole and right there this man eyes opened and I was shocked with the whole truth.

The girl he punished and allow his gang to rape was his own biological daughter, when he was arrested, Maharaja and his wife with his own main daughter went to visit the man home to present her a birthday chain they ordered for before the incident, while Maharaja step out to a gift store opposite the house, A trailer lost control and hit the house thereby killing Maharaja wife and daughter with this criminal wife but the dustbin covered the criminal daughter thereby saving her from the accident. That was the main reason why he cherish the dustbin so much, now because of Revenge, this criminal unknowing destroy his daughter life.

Like the Adage use to say, Don't ever throw a stone in the marketplace because it might hit a family unknowingly, revenge is also a bastard and we should at least let go because it always bounce back most of the time.

What's up everyone? I have reviewed many Hollywood movies, but today let's review a Telugu movie that is currently highly hyped in Bollywood. To stay in the audience's favor and maintain the hype, the movie must have something special, just like many movies released in 2024. Those who watch Bollywood movies will know this. Many movies are hyped before their release, and many gain hype after their release. This year, many high-budget movies did not perform well. However, low-budget movies have won over audiences and made it to their favorite list. The most hyped movie among Hindi moviegoers right now is "Maharaja."

Many viewers have given good reviews about the movie on various social media platforms, and its rating on IMDb is also very good at 8.7/10. So, I decided to watch the movie. It's a 2 hour and 20 minute film. Another reason I watched it is that the main hero of this movie is Vijay Sethupathi, one of my favorite Indian actors. In this movie, his character is named Maharaja. People who don't watch his movies might not realize how great an actor he is. He excels in romance, action, and thriller movies. Despite not having a six-pack abs, muscular body, or traditionally good looks, his acting skills will win you over. Initially, you might laugh at him doing action movies with a chubby body, but his performance will make you a fan.

Anyway back to the story of the movie. You have to spend 2 hours and 20 minutes to understand the story of this movie, because you will not understand anything without watching the entire movie. If you watch the first 1 hour of the movie, you will think that you are watching a normal movie where the incidents and mishaps of a barber's life are shown along with some other stories. But the incident starts when Maharaja goes to the police station to report that Lakshi from his house is missing. Lakshi is a dustbin in her house. The story starts from here. Maharaja told the police inspectors that three thieves had entered his house to steal but without finding anything they had stolen the dustbin named Lakshi from his house.

But what can a person have to do with a dustbin? However, the police inspector promised to find his dustbin in return for some bribe. After that the story starts unraveling. The story of what the Maharaja came here for in the first place begins to unfold. And you have to watch the movie to know it. How an ordinary barber can do these stories to avenge what happened to his daughter is so beautiful and wonderful in this movie.

If you leave out any part of this movie, you will leave out a lot of the story. Here is a mix of past and present stories. Means when Maharaja comes to the police station there are some previous events which are revealed later. I liked the movie very much. Trust me after a long time I watched a good Indian movie. Which will make you remember the very beginning of the movie at the very end of the movie. You can watch it at leisure with your family.
