  1. Saigo ni Hitotsu dake Onegai shitemo Yoroshii deshō ka - Anime Review (2025) [ENG/ESP]@yaslenysofia170d

    ENGLISH

    Greetings @theanimerealm community…

    REVIEW.gif

Today I'm bringing you an anime from last season (the fall season), and it was one of my favorites. I loved the protagonist and her interactions with the other characters, so if you don't have it on your list, what are you waiting for? Add it and watch it right away! Here are my impressions to encourage you to give it a try.

Saigo ni Hitotsu dake Onegai shitemo Yoroshii deshō ka (最後にひとつだけお願いしてもよろしいでしょうか)…

Releasing in October 2025, directed by Kazuya Sakamoto and produced by Liden Films Kyoto Studio; it uses the manga's character designs as a visual reference but follows the novels' narrative structure. It was created by Nana Ōtori and is an action, fantasy, and mystery anime.

    Regarding the plot…

The story follows Scarlet, a noblewoman of strong character and impeccable elegance who has patiently endured years of the slights and arrogance of her fiancé, the kingdom's second prince. The plot begins when, at the royal banquet, the prince, blinded by his favoritism toward another young woman, decides to publicly break off their engagement and accuse Scarlet of crimes she didn't commit in order to humiliate her before the entire aristocracy. What he didn't count on was that Scarlet's personality was on a level beyond his understanding. Instead of crying or begging, she reaches her breaking point, and since she has nothing left to lose, she no longer needs to hold back, asking for "one last favor": permission to resolve the matter her way.

So, how does that work? By taking down those who mock the false accusations with their bare fists, and the prince too. If they abandon their honor, and since she no longer has to maintain appearances, she abandons diplomacy. If words can't reason with them, blows will 🤣 and, being an expert in combat, no one will be spared. From that moment on, the series becomes a chronicle of justice and social "cleansing." The beautiful young woman, now free from the constraints of her royal betrothal, dedicates herself to exposing the corruption of the kingdom's high command, using a mixture of sharp intellect and overwhelming physical strength, with the help of her brother, the first prince, and others who will be key to achieving justice.

    Personal opinion

The first thing that attracted me, besides the beautiful animation, was the protagonist's personality. I can't stand her; she's so cool and doesn't let anyone walk all over her, nor is she afraid to get her hands dirty. She's clear about her goals and gets straight to the point (or, rather, to the punch). The interaction with her brother cracks me up. The poor guy will go bald if he keeps worrying about his sister, who is no damsel in distress; Regarding the prince (the first prince), I don't understand the negativity towards him. He's not like the favorite or best-developed male character, but I also find their relationship funny. I think it's difficult for her to have a "normal" relationship when she clearly has her own unique charm. Plus, his personality adds dynamism to hers, and she's not afraid to give him what he deserves, like when he makes inappropriate comments. So they each know what the other is like, and maybe that's what attracts them. I don't know, I liked it. He's incredibly sarcastic, and I haven't seen a relevant character with that attitude in other stories.

Adding that, I also like how he loves to watch the world burn and doesn't hesitate to hand Scarlet those he wants to beat up on a silver platter. He doesn't hold back, to put it simply, but it's more like he encourages her while he practically watches the whole scene with popcorn. The best part is that the story isn't really focused on romance, so you won't find it too centered on that. While other series of this style get lost in political dialogues or slow romances, here the protagonist gets straight to the point: to beat up whoever deserves it and protect her own at all costs.

The drawback you might find is that it repeats the same formula: "Scarlet arrives and punches the corrupt official." This can feel repetitive if you're looking for a deep political intrigue plot, but I feel that her attitude and the way she delivers it so naturally will make you like it. What I do find negative is that the villains are villains for the sake of being villains; there's no depth to them, no complexity in their motivations. So I think they failed there. They have a great protagonist, but the antagonists are just punching bags to be punched so they can quickly get to the next scene.

    Positive points…

    -Unique Protagonist.
-Satisfaction when striking back at those who wanted to humiliate her.
    -Excellent Character Dynamics.

    Opera Instantánea_2026-01-20_075241_image.tmdb.org.png Source

    Negative points…

-Lack of more complex motivations in its villains.
    -Repetitive formula.
-Rushed in certain parts of the plot.

    My score…

    7/10 Story │ 10/10 Animation │ 7.5/10 Sound │ 10/10 Character Design │ 8.5/10 Overall

The anime is visually appealing with a powerful protagonist who won't be fooled, featuring intense and even satisfying fight scenes at times. The series is perfect if you're looking for something lighthearted where "justice" is served immediately and physically, moving away from heavy romantic drama.

    Opera Instantánea_2026-01-20_075209_image.tmdb.org.png Fuente

    Puntos positivos…

    Opera Instantánea_2026-01-20_075241_image.tmdb.org.png Fuente

    Puntos negativos…

    -Formula repetitiva.
-Apresuradas en ciertas partes de la trama.

    Opera Instantánea_2026-01-20_075305_image.tmdb.org.png Fuente

I walked into this anime expecting something light that would distract me for a while, but it ended up tugging at that quiet corner of me that still believes stories can surprise us even when we think we have seen too many. May I Ask for One Final Thing carries itself with this mix of softness and rebellion that caught me off guard right from the start. It is the kind of show that whispers its intentions instead of shouting them, yet it keeps pushing you to look at the small fractures inside its characters. I felt myself leaning in without noticing, the way you do when a narrator is being honest in a way you were not ready for. There is something oddly comforting in watching a heroine who refuses to play by anyone’s rules but her own, not out of pride, not out of arrogance, but because she has already lived enough to see how fragile the world can be.

Some stories hit you with huge conflicts or cosmic disasters, but here everything moves with a more human tempo. The story follows a girl trying to step out of the path laid for her, and there is something strangely relatable in the stubborn grace with which she does it. I liked how the show lets her be both sharp and gentle, fierce and vulnerable, without forcing her into the usual molds. There were moments when I found myself thinking about my own messy little battles, those private struggles nobody else sees, and suddenly her journey felt familiar. The anime keeps pulling you along with this strange sense of duality. It mixes humor with quiet pain, elegance with clumsy tenderness, and it never apologizes for being all those things at once. I appreciated that honesty more than I expected.

Every episode feels like a reminder that there is always more behind a person’s actions than what they show on the surface. I kept noticing how the story rarely wastes a scene. Even the sillier moments carry a kind of emotional residue that makes everything feel connected. The animation helps a lot here. It is clean and expressive without trying too hard to dazzle. It lets the emotions breathe. Sometimes a small gesture or a tiny shift in someone’s posture says more than any long monologue could have said. I loved how natural everything felt visually. Nothing screams for attention, yet everything matters. This kind of subtle craftsmanship is rare in shows built around magic and danger, and I found it refreshing to see restraint used with such confidence.

One thing that stayed with me was how the relationships evolve in a slow burn that never feels boring. The characters do not rush to trust each other or to open up, and that makes every bit of progress feel earned. I am always drawn to stories where people learn each other instead of instantly clicking into place. Here the connections feel lived in. They grow through shared silences as much as through conflict. The anime gives them room to stumble, to misunderstand, to hesitate. I liked that so much more than the usual dramatic shortcuts. Watching them felt a little like watching friendships and alliances form in real life, clumsy and uneven but full of meaning. There is a softness to the way the show handles these bonds that made me want to linger inside the scenes for a little longer.

As I reached the end, I found myself appreciating how the anime never pretends to be larger than it is. It knows it is telling a story about someone choosing her own ending, someone daring to ask for a final thing that is not dramatic or grand but deeply personal. That quiet ambition is what makes it shine. It reminded me that strength can be quiet, that resistance can look like a soft smile, and that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is step into an uncertain future with your head held steady. Watching it felt like walking alongside someone who has been carrying a weight for too long and finally decides to put it down. There is something unexpectedly healing in that. When everything wrapped up, I sat there for a moment, letting the gentle aftertaste settle, and I realized this anime had given me more than I thought it would. It had given me a small moment of clarity about the strange beauty of choosing your own way even when the world insists you cannot.

May I Ask For One Final Thing? - Episode 07

    📍Episode Rating: 8.0

    (Spoiler Warning)

Scarlet looked so beautiful in a bright red Yukata. And in this episode, we saw Diana falling in love with Scarlet's brother Leo. At first, we got Scarlet's explosive action when she thoroughly beat up the Palmian Priests and Inquisitors after seeing them trying to harm Diana. The Priests, after being beaten by Scarlet, even gave her the title of Evil Incarnate. They have been stopped for now, but there is still danger over Diana. So, they set off towards Pallistan with her.

But before that, when Diana was falling from her high palanquin, Leo rescued her like a hero, and upon seeing him, Diana experienced love at first sight. Seeing Diana completely drowning in love for Leo, Scarlet decided to help her. And so, when they stopped at a small Hot Spring town in the middle, Scarlet set up a date for Diana with Leo at a festival there. To convince Leo, Scarlet explained to him that Diana has not been able to enjoy life like normal girls since becoming a saint, so Leo should show her around a bit. In Leo's eyes, Diana is exactly like his little sister, and so he agreed. Diana had a lot of fun strolling around the festival with Leo, and Leo also gave her some words of encouragement.

On the other hand, Scarlet was also roaming around the festival, and she had hoped that Julius would indeed follow her, and that is exactly what happened. However, the two of them encountered a group of rowdy adventurers, whom Scarlet properly put in their place. Besides that, we saw that the Palmian Priests have now reached out to Aflame from the neighboring kingdom and his friends, asking for help to finish off Scarlet. Alongside this, Julius now suspects that there must be some traitor or rat among them who is passing information to the Palmians. And so, Julius told Sigurd to infiltrate the Palmians to find out who the traitor is. I think Dios is the Palmian Rat who is passing all the information about Diana to the Palmians.
