Rather in this post we will talk about the cheap and absurd copy of this iconic series and we are talking about metastasis the latin copy of breaking Bad that honestly did absolutely nothing right. But what is the metastasis series about and why this project came to light? Let's analyze them briefly in this post.

Pero claro en esta publicación No vamos a hablar de esta icónica serie ya que todo el mundo sabe que es sumamente genial y todos los detalles que envuelve a esta historia sobre Walter white. Más bien en esta publicación hablaremos de la copia barata y absurda de esta icónica serie y estamos hablando de metástasis la copia latina de breaking Bad que honestamente no hizo absolutamente nada bien . Pero de qué trata la serie de metástasis Y por qué este proyecto salió a la luz? Analicemos los brevemente en esta publicación.

Also the name doesn't mean anything since it gets you confused for example the word metastasis you don't know if it refers to Walter white's cancer that is metastasizing in his body or if it refers to a play on words that denote the cooking of methamphetamine which is what Walter white does in the series.

Another thing that makes a lot of noise in this Colombian series is the change of the names of the characters because instead of keeping the original names they wanted to Spanishize all the names of the characters in the series, for example Walter white is not called Walter white but is called Walter white literally translated the last name of Walter white. Jesse is not called José Miguel Rosas, which if you listen to him, he sounds like a son of the Spanish royalty and a third and last example, not to make the list longer, we have the name of Walter White's wife, who in the Colombian copy is called Cielo Blanco.

La trama de metástasis como ya mencioné es exactamente una copia latina de la serie de breaking Bad es decir que los sucesos pasan exactamente igual de hecho muchas de las escenas tratan de imitarse hasta en la manera en que se grabaron en la original serie de breaking Bad claro con mucho menos presupuesto y totalmente en español latino. Así que la serie de metástasis prácticamente va de Walter white un profesor de química y padre de familia que le diagnostican cáncer y que le dan un máximo de dos años de vida y qué es su vida se vuelca totalmente al hacerse narcotraficante y cocinero de drogas.

Claro pudieras pensar si hace una producción que copia a otra que tuvo mucho éxito pues posiblemente también va a tener éxito y si no fijémonos en el caso de la serie de Netflix la casa de papel y su copia asiática la casa de papel coreana. Que a pesar de no ser la historia que se esperaba la casa de papel coreana logró tener un éxito mediano y respetable. Pero si hablamos de la serie metástasis lamentablemente no podemos decir eso ya que aunque se trató de imitar exactamente todo lo que pasó en la serie original tristemente no llegan al punto claro. En primer lugar por qué querrían hacer una serie que emite a otra si ya tenemos la original y de hecho si la original ya es muy buena de por sí. Además el nombre no significa nada ya que te llega a confundir por ejemplo la palabra metástasis no sabes si se refiere al cáncer de Walter white que está haciendo metástasis en su cuerpo o si se refiere a un juego de palabras que denotan la cocción de la metanfetamina que es lo que hace Walter white en la serie.

Otra cosa que hace bastante ruido en esta serie colombiana es el cambio de los nombres de los personajes ya que en vez de mantener los nombres originales quisieron españolizar todos los nombres de los personajes de la serie por ejemplo Walter white no se llama así sino que se llama Walter blanco literalmente traducieron el apellido de Walter white. Jesse no se llama así sino que se llama José Miguel rosas que si lo escuchas hasta parece hijo de la realeza española y un tercer ejemplo y último para no hacer la lista más larga tenemos el nombre de la esposa de Walter white que en la copia colombiana se llama Cielo Blanco.

The truth is we didn't have to wait three or four years to finish watching this whole series as its first episode aired on June 12, 2014 and the last episode on September 5, 2014. Which means that in less than 4 months they aired this disastrous production.

Además el punto sobre la producción de la serie está todo totalmente mal, ya que la serie tiene una calidad de imagen muy pero muy pésima cortes sumamente innecesarios en las escenas e incluso los diálogos latinos pierden totalmente el sentido cuando llegas a verlos. Además te arruino totalmente la imagen de la serie original ya que aunque la serie de breaking Bad original es una serie estadounidense está muy influenciada por personajes latinos y esa es la esencia de la serie pero al poner únicamente personajes latinos queriendo imitar a personajes que hablan inglés la verdad es que crea un ruido visual bastante evidente. Y más si estos personajes latinos que actuaron en esta copia barata No saben actuar.

Así que cuando una producción ves que cambian los nombres y suena sumamente tonto en vez de dejar los nombres originales si estás haciendo una copia exacta vas viendo que esto solo puede terminar a mal y de hecho aunque la serie copia tiene 62 capítulos y cinco temporadas. La verdad no tuvimos que esperar tres o cuatro años para terminar de ver toda esta serie ya que su primer capítulo se emitió el 12 de junio del 2014 y el último capítulo el 5 de septiembre de 2014. Lo que significa que en menos de 4 meses emitieron esta desastrosa producción.

In my opinion I am totally happy that no one remembers this series, and although it was aired in Venezuela and I remember having seen about 7 episodes approximately, then I did not feel like finishing it and although I never saw the original Breaking Bad until my adulthood the truth is that I felt totally disappointed with how that Latin production wanted to imitate the genius and greatness of this iconic series.

Y claro pueden haber personas que le hayan parecido sumamente excelente la idea de tener un breaking Bad latino, porque si miramos los ranking vemos que tenía un puntaje de audiencia de 8.2. pero en mi opinión la verdad es que esta copia absurda no tiene ningún sentido posiblemente los directivos pensaron que como en América latina lo que más se promueve son series o novelas con contenido de narcos y drogas pensaron que copiar a breaking Bad sería una maravilla o como dicen en Venezuela un tiro al piso.

Pero viendo el terrible resultado sabemos que no es así. En mi opinión Estoy totalmente alegre de que nadie recuerde esta serie, Y aunque se emetió en Venezuela y yo recuerdo haber visto como unos 7 episodios aproximadamente, pues luego no me quedaron ganas de terminarla y aunque aunque nunca vi breaking Bad original hasta mi adultez la verdad es que me sentí totalmente decepcionado de cómo esa producción latina quería imitar la genialidad y grandeza de esta icónica serie.

Claro como comenté anteriormente este es mi opinión respecto a esto posiblemente hayan personas que le haya gustado e incluso más que la serie original. Obviously, unlike Better Call Saul or "El Camino", Metastasis is not a canonical extension to the universe of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, but rather an unexpected adaptation to a work that did not need it.

It is not necessary to stick a finger in the wound, there are already hundreds of articles, videos, and blogs that have been dedicated to mocking this curious Colombian soap opera that, using Breaking Bad as a reference (and legally doing it, should be noted), recreated its history frame by frame, changing the actors, the location of the play and a couple of specific elements to make it work with the Latin audience.

Today, far from contributing to the narrative that destroys the merit of a series of obviously inferior quality, I would like to reflect a little on the lessons that its very existence leaves us, not only with respect to the legacy of Breaking Bad, but also extending it to the culture of remake and adaptations.

To me, Metastasis is a perfect example of how fidelity often ends up backfiring, especially when porting a product that worked flawlessly in its original format.

And, at least on paper, things wouldn't need to be disastrous, in fact, a good portion of the Colombian public (especially those who were unaware of Breaking Bad) were able to enjoy this series, after all, it was still a brilliantly constructed story, with captivating conflicts and a level of thematic complexity that is not exactly common in soap operas.

The problem, being a little bit more nitpicky, came not only from the unnecessaryness of the adaptation, but also from the inability of said work to maintain a series of technical and narrative subtleties that had characterized Breaking bad from the beginning, a recipe for disaster. if we mix it with a production level far removed from the Anglo-Saxon quality standard.

Which was the result? The polarization, Metastasis had a solid cast that on several occasions delivered quality performances, but at the same time lived under the shadow of its own origin, a superior series in every aspect that had an original story and deserved all the praise of the world. world.

The funny thing is that its existence does not disgust me, after all, it opened the doors of this great story to a new audience, an audience that would never have known it otherwise. But at the same time it was an undeniable waste of resources, resources that could have been used to create something new, less focused on replicating the experience of a work that at the end of the day was nothing more than lightning in a bottle.

Obviamente, a diferencia de Better Call Saul o "El Camino", Metástasis no es una extensión canónica al universo de Walter White y Jesse Pinkman, sino más bien una adaptación inesperada a una obra que no lo necesitaba.

No hace falta meter el dedo en la herida, ya existen ciertos de artículos, videos, y blogs que se han dedicado a burlar esta curiosa telenovela colombiana que, empleando como referencia Breaking Bad (Y de forma legal, cabe destacar), recreó su historia frame por frame, cambiando a los actores, la localización de la obra y un par de elementos específicos para que funcionara con el público latino.

Hoy, lejos de contribuir con la narrativa que destruye el mérito de una serie de calidad obviamente inferior, me gustaría reflexionar un poco sobre las lecciones que nos deja su mismimisa existencia, no solo con respecto al legado de Breaking Bad, sino extendiendolo a la cultura del remake y la adaptación.

Para mí, Metastasis es un ejemplo perfecto de como muchas veces la fidelidad termina siendo contraproducente, especialmente cuando se traslada un producto que funcionaba sin problemas en su formato original.

Y es que en papel las cosas no deberían ser desastrosas, de hecho, una buena porción del público colombiano (Especialmente aquellos que desconocían Breaking Bad) fueron capaces de disfrutar esta novela, después de todo, seguía siendo una historia brillantemente construida, con conflictos atrapantes y un nivel de complejidad temática que no es precisamente común en las telenovelas.

El problema, poniéndonos un poco más exigentes, venía no solo con lo innecesario de la adaptación, sino con la incapacidad que tenía dicha obra para mantener una serie de sutilezas técnicas y narrativas que habían caracterizado a Breaking bad desde el principio, una receta al desastre si lo mezclamos con un nivel de producción muy alejado del estándar de calidad anglosajón.

¿Cuál fue el resultado? La polarización, Metastasis contaba con un elenco sólido que en diversas ocasiones entregaba actuaciónes de calidad, pero al mismo tiempo vivía bajo la sombra de su propio origen, una serie superior con en todo aspecto que contaba con una historia original y merecía todas las alabanzas del mundo.

Lo gracioso es que no me repugna su existencia, al fin y al cabo abrió las puertas de esta gran historia a un público nuevo, un público que nunca la hubiese conocido de otra forma. Pero al mismo tiempo fue una perdida de recursos innegable, recursos que podrían haberse destinado a crear algo nuevo, menos enfocado en replicar la experiencia de una obra que al final del día no fue más que un relámpago en una botella.

Esto, al mismo tiempo, me hace pensar sobre la amargura con la que mucho tiempo abordamos las secuelas, los reboots y las adaptaciones, incapaces de comprender si las libertades artísticas están siendo tomadas por capricho de los creadores, o porque honestamente hay cosas que nunca pueden trasladarse con exactitud y ellos lo entienden mejor que nosotros.
