Becoming a Power Ranger@olujay638d
The first thing I thought of when the word "omega" came to mind was a character in one of the Power Ranger series I used to love as a kid. Going through old videos from the series brought back a lot of memories and how I used to feel watching such shows. At one point as a kid, my ambition was to become a power ranger. That obviously didn't happen, but when I think of it in some sense, I somehow became a power ranger. I'll explain.
You see, in one of the short snippets I watched, there was a sixth ranger that was so special, he basically stole the show. Usually, in every power ranger show, there are either (or mostly) five main rangers, or otherwise three, and then there would be a sixth or special ranger that is somewhat different and special. That's who the omega ranger was. He was somehow way more powerful than the red, blue, green, yellow, and pink ranger.
The Omega Ranger was so strong and powerful, and even had way more sophisticated technology than any other ranger, that he could take on enemies on his own and flawlessly win. He was confident of that and somehow arrogant about it. He said to the others in the snippet, "I don't need you guys." And that was the end of the snippet, but in another snippet, he was patrionizing rather than condescending to his teammates, the other rangers. He said, "It was thanks to us all."
Both snippets were from different times in the show, but I needed not to watch the entire series to remember what happened, or at least understand "the point." The Omega Ranger had gone through some life lessons that made him realise at one point that we all need one another at some point in this life. And that was part of what the Power Ranger shows were about, aside from the entertainment.
Leadership, teamwork, service, hope, faith, humanity, responsibility—to mention a few—these were the virtues that all of the Power Ranger series mostly taught. It goes way deeper, but my point here today was how such shows managed to teach people [or mostly kids] life lessons in the form of entertainment. And the truth is, they somehow lie somewhere in our hearts.
So somehow, I grew up understanding to some degree what it means to have hope, to serve humanity, to truly be a leader, and that with great power comes great responsibility, not just by listening to my parents and learning from my experiences, but by even watching TV shows.
So even though I never had super powers or ever owned morphers to morph me into the power ranger forms, it's safe to say that I still managed to become a power ranger.
Oh, and mistakes, yeah, I make them sometimes. I made one yesterday and quite a lot in the last year alone, even though I could have known better, being a "power ranger," heh, but that's life in it's entirety. That's what makes us human. The human experience isn't perfect, but we always grow and evolve.
By the way, the show was Power Rangers S.P.D. [Space Patrol Delta], and it was my favourite.

It was 1993, I was about eight years old and my parents and I had just moved to this city, I was going through a difficult time because I was leaving behind the town where I had grown up, my school, my friends, my little house and my father's family, I was facing the city, new people, a school that seemed dreary to me as it was an old colonial house in the centre of the city, in short, for an adult it may seem silly but for an eight year old girl, at least in my case, it was very hard.
Corría el año de 1993, yo tenía unos ochos años de edad y mis padres y yo estábamos recién mudados a esta ciudad, yo estaba pasando por un momento difícil debido a que estaba dejando atrás el pueblo en el que había crecido, mi escuela, mis amigos, mi casita y mi familia paterna, me enfrentaba a la ciudad, a nuevas personas, a una escuela que me parecía lúgubre ya que se trataba de una vieja casona colonial en el centro de la ciudad, en fin, para un adulto puede parecer una tontería pero para una niña de ocho años, al menos en mi caso, era muy duro.
However, one time when I was playing alone with my dolls (I was an only child at the time) on TV I saw something that captured my attention completely, it was about five ordinary teenagers who were attending high school, but suddenly they were summoned by Zordon, a kind of intergalactic leader who gave them special powers as well as a wrist intercom, with which they could keep in communication with him, it was enough for each of them to shout the name of their assigned prehistoric animal and suddenly they appeared dressed in colourful costumes and great martial arts skills.
Sin embargo, en una ocasión en que estaba jugando sola con mis muñecas (yo era hija única en ese entonces) en la televisión vi algo que capturó mi atención por completo, se trataba de cinco chicos comunes y corrientes que asistían a la secundaria, pero de pronto fueron convocados por Zordon, una especie de líder intergaláctico que les otorgó poderes especiales además de un intercomunicador de muñeca, con el cual podrían mantenerse en contacto con él, tan solo bastaba con que cada uno de ellos gritara el nombre de su animal prehistórico asignado y de pronto aparecían vestidos con trajes de colores y grandes habilidades para las artes marciales.

Wow! Watching that was like love at first sight, like an injection of energy for me, since then I didn't miss any episode, and whenever I got together with my cousins at grandma's house, we didn't miss the opportunity to play Power Rangers, I remember I was Kimberly (the pink ranger) haha it was so much fun, and sometimes there were even fights over the rangers: "I am the red ranger! "No, I'm the red ranger!" shouted the other one.
¡Wow! Ver eso fue como amor a primera vista, como una inyección de energía para mí, desde entonces no me perdía ningún episodio, y siempre que yo me reunía con mis primos en la casa de la abuela, no perdíamos la oportunidad de jugar a los Power Rangers, recuerdo que yo era Kimberly (la ranger rosa) jaja era muy divertido, y a veces hasta surgían peleas por los ranger: "¡Yo soy el rager rojo!" gritaba uno de mis primos... "¡No, yo soy el ranger rojo!" gritaba el otro.
My favourite moment in the series was when everyone would gather at Zordon's call and Jason (the Red Ranger and leader of the Rangers) would say "Morphin Time!" then each of them would summon their assigned prehistoric animal to become the Rangers. Mastodon! Terodactyl! Triceratops! Saber tooth Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!
Mi momento favorito de la serie era cuando todos se reunían tras el llamado de Zordon y Jason (el ranger rojo y líder de los rangers) decía "¡Mórfosis, amigos!" entonces cada uno de ellos convocaba a su animal prehistórico asignado para convertirse en los Rangers. ¡Mastodonte! ¡Terodáctilo! ¡Tricerácto! ¡Tigre Colmillos de Sable! ¡Tiranosaurio!

I soon began to socialise with the kids at school because we played Powers Ranger, I also played with the kids on my block and slowly began to accept my new home and school.

The Power Rangers had about 28 seasons, 12 comic book series and three movies (1995, 1997 and 2017) although I only liked the first season, I remember at that time I hated Tommy (the green ranger) but it wasn't his acting that bothered me, as I consider Jason David Frank did an excellent acting job with his character, but he started having an affair with Kimberly (the Pink ranger) and I thought Jason was better for her, also, shortly after he joined the cast, St. John (the red ranger), Walter Jones (the black ranger) and Thuy Trang (the yellow ranger) left the show. John (the Red Ranger) Walter Jones (the Black Ranger) and Thuy Trang (the Yellow Ranger) left the show, and I thought it was because of the Green Ranger, however, today we know that the reason they left the show was because they were unhappy with their salary.
Los Power Rangers tuvo unas 28 temporadas, 12 series de cómics y tres películas (1995, 1997 y 2017) aunque a mí solo me gustó la primera temporada, recuerdo que en esa época yo odiaba a Tommy (el ranger verde) pero no era su forma de actuar lo que me molestaba, ya que considero que Jason David Frank hizo un excelente trabajo de interpretación con su personaje, sino que él comenzó a tener un romance con Kimberly (la ranger Rosa) y yo creía que Jason era mejor para ella, además, poco tiempo después que él se incorporara al elenco, St. John (el ranger rojo) Walter Jones (el ranger negro) y Thuy Trang (la ranger amarilla) salieron del show, y yo creía que había sido por culpa del ranger verde, sin embargo, hoy en día sabemos que el motivo de su salida del show fue porque no estaban conformes con su salario.

Y como olvidar a Rita, (la villana) y su voz chillona y escandalosa, ella era quien enviaba a los patrulleros (los villanos más débiles) para combatir a los Rangers y causar estragos en la tierra, posteriormente enviaba un monstruo más poderoso, pero cuando los Ranger estaban a punto de vencerlo, recuerdo que ella arrojaba su báculo mágico y hacía crecer al monstruo a niveles descomunales.
But the Rangers also had an ace up their sleeve, as each of them had a robot in the shape of their assigned prehistoric animal, and each of them came to their call to merge into a robot of colossal dimensions called the "Megazord".

And regarding the soundtrack, I can only tell you that it was great, listening to it was inevitable to feel infected by the energy and adrenaline that it transmitted, when I listened to it I felt powerful, haha I really thought I was the pink ranger and I felt invincible, even when I played with my cousins or my friends, I listened to the intro music of the show in my head.
Y con respecto al soundtrack, solo puedo decirles que era genial, al escucharlo era inevitable sentirte contagiado por la energía y adrenalina que transmitía, cuando yo lo escuchaba me sentía poderosa, jaja de verdad creía que era la ranger rosa y me sentía invensible, incluso cuando yo jugaba con mis primos o mis amigos, escuchaba la música del intro de la serie en mi cabeza.
