  1. Mimi - a Surrogacy story@sayee1599d
    [source](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC56gTxNs4f9xZ7Pa2i5xNzg)

Imagine a young girl who wants to make it big in Bollywood but is short of money that she thinks is needed to get in.

Mimi, a girl who is beautiful, talented, and young is in a dilemma because she needs a lot of money to build a portfolio. She is approached by a taxi driver who brings a young western couple in search of a surrogate. The taxi driver convinces her that they would pay handsomely and also leave after she gives birth and she would be free to pursue her dreams.

Things go wrong when the couple leaves without saying a word after they learn that the child has complications and they do not want anything to do with it. Mimi, is left to deal with the situation and heavily pregnant, she returns to her house where her parents although devastated welcome her along with the taxi driver whom they think is her husband. She is taken care of by all of them. Things take a comic turn when the driver's wife and mother turn up and accuse him but Mimi ends up telling the truth that she is a surrogate.

She delivers a healthy baby boy and the whole village is jubilant. Time passes by but one day the couple turns up and demands that they return the child. Mimi and her family are destroyed but she agrees to return the child. They leave to meet the couple but they turn up with a baby girl whom they adopted and ask Mimi to look after their child and leave.

The movie is a family entertainer with a song that became a trendy one. This is a remake of the Marathi version but because Hindi is more accessible to the masses, this version is more popular.

Mimi is a movie on surrogacy and has a message about it. Many people come over to the villages and expect to take home healthy babies and if and when the baby is reported to be not healthy, they just take off. There are cases when the couple separate and this also causes an issue.

Mimi is played by Kriti Sanon who is a very versatile actor and along with Pankaj Tripathi who is a crowd puller. The dialogues by Pankaj are what make many people watch the movie. I hope he gets to play many more roles and get the deserved fame.

Parenting has nothing to do with blood and a good parent is one who is able to raise a socially responsible adult. Of course, there can be counterarguments to that and not everyone must have had a good parent/parents. The general idea is that parenting is a huge responsibility and disciplining children alone cannot make sure that he or she is raised well.

Mimi is also a warning to all people out there to be wary of taking on such huge responsibilities as surrogacy especially without consulting one's near and dear.

I am sure the movie will be a good watch and now that there are subtitles that help you to watch other language movies, language will not be a barrier.

You don't need to be related by blood to give love as a parent.

I'm not related with that sentences, but I totally agree with those kind of advice. Whoever you are, you can be a parent if you can give a love. It's useless if you have a children who's related by blood with you but you can't responsible it!

This is a message from Mimi's movie who want to convey to.

Mimi was A Bollywood movies who was released in these year in online platform. The film is very well written and delivered very well by the cast. What they wanted to convey was conveyed very great.

I really got a lot of goodness in this film which then made me not stop crying until the end of the film. I really recommended this movie to you. It's not conventional Bollywood movie, so if you are not Bollywood movie enthusiast, you would be love this kind of movie.

Talking about the cast, this film is supported by the acting of all the players who are very slick.

Kriti Sanon as Mimi give a powerful character in these movie. The Industries which previously only have male actor as the main character and make an actress just like as decoration was changed. Bollywood movies now have many actress which's can standing alone without the big actor as main character and Kriti was proven it!

Besides Mimi, I really love the character of Bhanu. He has a husband and don't have a child but he have no reason to leaving and betraying his wife. He also never demanding his wife so and so. He is a great husband. And for Mimi, even in worst condition he's never left Mimi and keep taking care about the baby although he wasn't get a payment anymore. He's really great as a person.

Talking about surrogacy, surrogacy was popular in India after a few actor obviously use the surrogate mother to delivered their baby like superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, and many more.

Like what is shown by Mimi movies, there's so many agency who was handle many woman to rent their womb. It's called baby industries.

Even this movie's genre is drama, there's a comic scenes who will make you laugh loudly after crying. It's happened to me too.

This movie is really heartwarming and touchable. You guys have to felt what I felt when I seen Mimi giving delivered a baby. It's make me goosebumps.

    Mimi. Pelicula.jpg

    Mimi. Surrogate Mother

A film that leaves you with a good taste. I really enjoy this genre that takes such a serious subject, with great social content and makes a film between comedy and drama that takes you to a deep questioning. That says a lot about the creativity of the screenwriter, the possibilities of the director to carry all these ideas, give it body and make it visible and, of course, of some artists who are able to express feelings with such intensity.

This is the case of Mimi, Surrogate Mother, an Indian film from 2021 presented by Netflix. A title that right off the bat tells us what it's all about so I'll make a brief introduction of the main characters, a synthesis of the plot and then I'll give you my usual intentional commentary.

Mimi, written by Rohan Shankar and directed by Laxman Utekar. Starring Kriti Sanon (Mimi, the surrogate mother) and Pankaj Tripathi (Bhanupratap in the role of the cab driver), accompanied by a large cast.

    Todos.jpg

    The Plot

A couple from Staudin is looking for a surrogate mother and for economic reasons they look for her in India. In their search they find a cab driver, Bhanupratap, who promises to find them the right woman. One night he takes them to a night spot for dinner and a show. The couple sees a young dancer (Mimi), a tall, slender girl with a very beautiful body. The couple immediately thinks that the dancer is their ideal model, a healthy and athletic woman who can carry the baby they want.

The cab driver puts all his efforts to get Mimi to be the surrogate mother and succeeds for the money that the "job" will bring him and with which he can fulfill his dream of being an artist. The deal is accepted, Mimi gets the treatment, receives part of the money and becomes pregnant. The story goes on, dealing with all the implications of the pregnancy, how to hide it from her parents and the support of her supportive friend, the chauffeur who will not let go of her because he promised the Americans to take care of her and then becomes the girl's husband.

When the genetic parents return to India to find out how the pregnancy is going, they learn that the baby is having difficulties, specifically with Down syndrome, the parents reject the child, who is already quite advanced in gestation, and with the cab driver they send a message to the girl to have an abortion.

There unfolds a personal, family and social drama. For Mimi, having a child she did not want and giving up her dreams was unimaginable, but it was not in her world to have an abortion, so she decides to keep the baby until it is born and then she will see what to do. Of course, the whole situation is wrapped up in drama: the disappointment and recrimination of the parents, the gossip of the neighborhood and a supposed husband, the cab driver, who is not well regarded by the family.

As the years go by and everyone loves their white baby, the child's biological parents return and try to take the child away, thus creating a new family drama. In the end everyone finds a perfect solution and the story has a happy ending.

    Intentional commentary

The truth is that sometimes it is not easy to make a neutral commentary, the prejudices we have always come to light, what we believe and feel, however, to think about the need of the other and not from the privilege you have had is what we call empathy, Mimi raises this possibility through motherhood.

Motherhood is a state of very intimate and intense desire that, since it cannot be covered in a natural way, current science proposes valid alternatives, among them, surrogate pregnancy, commonly known as womb for rent. This technique has given very good results making many parents happy but, as in the case presented in the film, things do not always turn out as planned presenting an ethical, moral and even legal problem, to such an extent that, at present, there are countries where there is already legislation in this regard.

This is part of the approach and questioning that the film makes us. When the child you have been looking for comes with difficulties, does not meet the "expectations of the couple", what are you going to do? The couple chooses to abandon him, to disengage themselves from their "creation". On the other hand, it shows us another option, the young woman, who without being the biological mother and without "maternal desires", decides to keep the baby until it is born, with all the consequences that such a situation may bring her.

In the same way, the fabric of human and family relationships becomes evident: a grandmother who with her firm words puts an end to a situation: -Leave the drama, your daughter is pregnant and you have to take care of her- to give way to acceptance and consent born of sorority, just like the unconditional friend who sees the possibility of being a mother with the unwanted child and a cab driver who stays because he feels he has a commitment to the end with the girl and that as ethics he has to: -The passenger must always arrive at his destination-.

Between scenes, phrases and approaches the film shows us existing realities that, from different optics, guide our gaze towards social problems to open a space of sensitization towards them, closing with a figure that impacts and moves.
