  1. Cine Tv Contest #50 ~ MOONSTRUCK (1987)@rukkie1212d

    Hello everyone, it's another beautiful week on #cinetv. This week's theme is to give a review on your favorite iconic 80's movie.

    I wasn't born in the 80s but I did watch some of the movies my parents do get and one of such is titled;

    MOONSTRUCK (1987)

    Moonstruck is a 1987 American romantic comedy-drama film that starred Cher, Nicolas Cage, Danny Aiello, Olympia Dukakis, etc

    I love Loretta Castorini's (Cher) rapport with her parents, they are very funny but they are after her happiness.

    After Johnny Cammameri (Danny Aiello) proposed to Loretta Castorini, he left to check on his mother who was dying, and told his fiancee to contact his brother Ronny Cammameri (Nicholas Cage) so that the latter would come to their wedding as they haven't spoken in years.

    Loretta contacted Ronny but they got off on the wrong foot because Ronny kept blaming his brother for the accident that took his hand which made his fiancee leave him. After Lorreta and Ronny spent some time together and seeing that they've both had bad things happen to them, they had sex and Ronny started developing feelings for Lorreta.

    I disliked the fact that Johnny her fiancé was away visiting his sick mother while she was cheating on him with his brother.

    Ronny Cammameri invited her to visit the Opera with him and she went and had an entire makeover and still went home with him spending the night after she has had a confession previously for sleeping with Ronny. She was with him while her fiancé Johnny came back and went to find her at her house but she wasn't at home.

    I love Rose Castorini's character (Olympia Dukakis) in the movie. She is a woman who loves her family and even though she is hurt by the knowledge of her husband cheating on her, she never paid him back in his coin even when she had the opportunity to do so. When she confronted her husband about him cheating on her, all she wanted was for him to stop seeing his mistress.

    I think the movie needed a happy ending that was why they made Loretta and Ronny feel what they did was okay. Yes, we do find love in weird places but what if Johnny was indeed serious about the wedding? What if he truly loves Loretta? Does that mean they would have left him heartbroken?

    There are some funny scenes in the movie and I think it's a movie worth watching.

    Thanks for visiting.
